Number 17 in County Durham

First time I’ve been here and I must say it’ll probably be my last, my cake was stale which had clearly been made a day or two before, my sausage sarnie was average at best with not much taste tbh & finally the prices. For the standard the prices are crazy!

The food was lovely and a decent price 👌

Popped in for breakfast. Very nice and great service. Within walking distance for us so will be back regularly.

Service san be slow especially if ordering cooked. Problem being if you a tea it can be cold by the time the meal comes or u have drunk. Encourage people to all have either hot or cold. Then you all eat together

Soup needed seasoning but other than that all good as normal. Tasty sandwiches, good size, well prepared and presented.

I ordered from off the menu. The answer was, 'of course, no problem we have the ingredients '

Never heard of 17 until today and was pleasantly surprised at how nice a place it was and the food was lovely. Will definitely go again.

We had a fruit scone with butter and jam and a coffee it was very nice, and staff were very pleasant

We love it here! The scones, cakes and breakfasts are the best in Stanley 💓 I have a shelf there with my handmade items on it, I also do Tarot card readings at the regular pamper nights there. My sister's both love it and so does my Hubby! 💞 Thank You!

Called in on a whim whilst going to the pharmacy. Was our first visit and was pleased and happy with the friendly service and general look and cleanliness of the cafe . Ordered two cooked breakfasts , I asked if it was possible to have part boiled egg (not stated on menu) instead of the fried etc egg options . Was no problem at all .👍🏼 Food was great and of good quality products, sausage really nice . . . Our lass loves a good sausage and she was satisfied 🤤 ! All in all well done , nice local business. Usual excellent food served by very pleasant staff.. This gem never fails to impress. We travel over 17 miles to sample their food, so it must be good.

Great, surprisingly spacious independent coffee shop. Lots.of lovely local crafts and goods for sale too. We had nice coffee and a fantastic homemade soup with cheese scone. Regretting driving past many times before now and not calling in

A little gem of a cafe, really nice breakfast today. Very friendly atmosphere and good service. Food was really nice and piping hot pot of tea and latte (I really love a hot cuppa!!) Lots of cakes to choose from and also gifts and crafts to buy. There is parking to the side.

Lovely cafe serving excellent coffee and cakes. My wife and I had a very pleasant time here as the staff and service given was most agreeable. We'll definitely call in again. 😋

Waited ages (15 minutes) for coffee.. worst one I had, and was served like this. We are local so we give it another try, after a poor service the last time … Afraid we won’t be going again. On the way out the card machine also took ages, the owner walked by twice without even saying hello. There’s better places around to go. Didn’t feel welcome.

Love this place. Staff friendly, food great and reasonable. Lost 1 star cos they don't have skimmed milk and I find semi-skimmed sickly after more than 2 coffees (I spend a long time here when I'm in meeting friends).

Awful Sunday dinner!!! chewy meat, one piece of veg each and half a teaspoon of mash , disgraceful, small coffee cup of gravy between two people and the cup wasn’t even full and it was cold! Never coming back

Lovely place with fantastic food, fantastic service and little bits and pieces of crafts to buy.

Thought we’d try the takeout Sunday lunch this weekend, and not disappointed with the service and the food, ample amount of food for both of us. We certainly will be booking a table very soon to try the cakes and coffee, I would certainly recommend this local eatery to everyone. Number 17 coffee shop/bistro Dipton, County Durham.

Had large breakfast could has been a little warmer but was very good value and delicious

Best bacon, brie & cranberry toastie ever, & as I said to the waitress who is doing a stalwart job of spilling beverages from extremely well-filled cups, I eat loads. Pop over, it's a nice drive & well worth a visit.

Such a gorgeous little cafe, that serves an all day breakfast for vegetarians! The prices are so reasonable for the amount of food that you receive and the standards are hard to compete with. All of the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend here for your next lunch date.

Called in today 21/1/24 for Sunday lunch. Very attentive staff, no long wait here. Order taken within 10 mins (2 beef lunches & a burger + drinks). Drinks arrived after 5 mins & meals @ 5 mins later. Good sized portions, veg cooked just right (nice little bite to veg, mash creamy), meat cooked well. All in all very nice. Chef came to ask if everything was ok & was pleased when we said yes. Very reasonably priced, attentive & friendly staff. Will definitely be back for more. Definitely worth a visit.

Nothing was too much trouble. I wanted something not on the menu and they cooked it for me. Served with a smile. Also they brought a little box to put anything I wanted to take home.

Ordered a jacket potato with cheese tuna and red onion for dinner to take out which then later came 40 minutes after. Which I then asked for plastic cutlery to take out with me so I can eat the potato. Which was replied by the woman with stinking attitude “ Don’t have any, not my problem”. I then opened the box for it to look more like a pea it was that small with the littlest amount of tuna with about 3 pieces of cheese over the top and 1 dice of red onion. To then later to find that the middle was cold and hard (undercooked) and the skin was burned to a crisp. I will not be coming back here ever ! Disgrace . Back to Greggs I go !

Went for the special breakfast deal which was fantastic. The rest of the menu looks great and the prices very reasonable. Couldn't resist a takeaway cake ....lovely Victoria sandwich cake. Going there again next week with family. Very friendly and efficient staff. A great find. 😊

I called in this gorgeous, quaint little café by chance and I must say I was far from disappointed with my experience. The food was delicious, both myself and my friend ordered different things and we were both very impressed with everything. Lovely little gift shop including gift bags for dogs which I think is a nice touch! Lots of dog walkers around our area. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The pricing is more than fair, dare I say cheap! (100% value for money!) Beautifully decorated with a "homey" feel to it. Very welcoming. Could not fault this place at all, looking forward to my next visit 😁 5⭐+

We celebrated my mum's 80th birthday there. The girls were fantastic with helping me plan and pull it off The buffet was outstanding Absolutely perfect. decor, atmosphere, music, drinks...all just wonderful and made my mum's night so very special.

Lovely little place in a small but delightful village. Staff very good, food very good. Lasagna to die for so best order in advance as it flies out.

Was looking forward to a coffee and cake this afternoon, only to find you were closed! We had walked all the way from Burnopfield as well. Checked your website before setting off and it says you are open from 11am to 4pm on a Sunday.

Afternoon tea was absolutely delicious. We couldn't eat everything and had to take some home. Great value for money. Service was excellent too. Definitely worth a visit.

Stumbled across this cafe this afternoon when feeling a bit hungry. We ordered coffee, tea, sandwich and toastie. Beautifully presented and tasty. Will be back to try cakes next time. Very friendly staff and well worth a trip out of your way to get there.

Thank you for possibly the best (and hotest) oat milk latte ever! Pistachio cannoli simply delicious. Looking forward to trying Nutella cannoli next time! Or the chocolate cake. Or the bakewell tart ....... they all look amazing! Super friendly staff. Love the location too.
