Stopped for breakfast in the cafe, it was lovely. The small breakfast is big enough for most! Cafe clean, staff friendly and importantly the toilets were very clean. Highly recommended 👍

The food at this cafe is exceptional. The chef is gifted and of great value to the place. I’ve enjoyed every meal I’ve ever eaten here, except for the barbecue pulled pork which was far too heavy with pepper for my liking, killing any barbecue taste. It has become rather expensive over the years, and tea or juice is no longer included with the breakfast. Toast has reduced, too. Coffees are delicious but very expensive, on a par with the absurdly expensive American coffee shops in every town now. So, food is excellent. I do have two complaints though: 1. The place needs a deep clean. The floors are greasy, the tables are so sticky that if you try to move the slate table mat, you literally need to use your knife to pry it from the table first. I am sadly quite serious. Tea cups are sometimes dirty and asking for a replacement just gets another dirty one. Please take note of this and clean more thoroughly, because your food is so good but the place is let down by dirt. 2. Some of the staff are unfriendly. Sometimes you walk in the cafe, the staff glance at you and just look away, no greeting or smile! I almost walked out once because of it. It can feel like you are a nuisance to them, a necessary nuisance. Staff need some hospitality training and reprimands when they don’t treat the customers as the valuable commodities that they are. In summary: food superb if a little pricey, some staff need training in customer service and greeting, and the place needs a thoroughly good clean, a real scrubbing, and then get those glum members of staff cleaning daily! And no matter what, hold on to that chef, he is top notch.

Dirty cafe, Dirty plates, cups, glasses and cutlery, tables not cleaned properly. Toilets an dirty and floor filthy. Staff rude and not even bothered the place is filthy, and even high chairs are dirty and nothing is cleaned in this cafe. This cafe should be checked for hygiene standards as it's clearly a problem if the staff are not interested in cleaning properly.. The breakfast we ordered had oregano over the mushrooms and tomatoes and the whole breakfast didn't taste nice at all and we left most of it. The tea came with dirty cups and teapot looked as though it had never been washed ever. I asked for clean cup and they brought me another dirty one so i gave up and didn't bother drinking my tea. They didn't seem bothered that their cafe is absolutely disgusting. The plants in the garden centre are also well overpriced

Lovely cafe at this garden centre. Really well cooked breakfast, nice and hot which isn't always the case at other cafes. It was also an advantage that the breakfast choices are available all day. Great varied menu. I visit this garden centre specifically to go in the cafe.

We called in to the garden centre for a mid morning drink on Wednesday 15 May 2024. The drink went well and I required a visit to the toilet. As a disabled man, I was delighted to see that the cubicle was set out as a disabled toilet. My delight was short lived when I saw the state of the toilet bowl. It was blocked with paper and flushing had no effect. The whole thing looked DISGUSTING as was the attitude of the staff to whom I informed of the problem. They just muttered something and showed absolutely no interest or intention of rectifying the situation. The toilet was unusable and, unlike the ladies’ toilet with two cubicles, this was the only cubicle available for men. This experience shocked me and I should like to think such a well kept garden centre would accept this standard of behaviour as the norm.

It was the first time we have visited this garden centre and unfortunately will be our last! We stopped at 3pm, we knew they were closing at 4pm but only wanted a sandwich and a coffee. We had the dog with us and had been told we could eat outside with the dog in their outdoor area, which was fine. As it was our first visit we were unsure about which way to go...we were met by a female member if staff who barked at us " no dogs in here" in a most unfriendly manner. We explained that we were looking for the way to the outside and again she shouted orders at us " just go outside, outside the building" in an unfriendly manner....when we still had trouble finding it she came out and treated us like idiots....she explained that we could get through in the direction she showed us. We found the tables and sat for about 5 mins or so, we had been told someone would take our order...no one came. So we left...feeling patronised and unwelcome. That person is NOT an asset to your business, obviously has no people skulls and has given the worst impression of your business! We would not make an effort to go to your cafe again ...

I was quite upset and disappointed with my experience here, after one of the staff almost told me off for having my kids playing about the garden centre (they were not touching plants or being disruptive) I can see he was concerned about them hurting them selves in the centre as he kept mentioning how they could trip over things, but the manner in the way he spoke to me was not the nicest. When I came to buying my plants, I had to ring the bell three times and when someone one finally did arrive I was not offered an apology for waiting and their manner was blunt and unfriendly. Will not be returning here again.

We cycled to Bryncir cafe, about a 20 mile ride with our baby in his bike trailer. We’d heard really good things about the food here and we’re looking forward to it. Unfortunately we were greeted by rude staff, one woman in particular was extremely unhelpful, and unnecessarily rude to us upon entering. After serving us she spent the rest of her time on her mobile phone, makes you wonder what they pay her for. There are literally NO dairy free options and the drinks menu is very disappointing. The coffee was average at best. This cafe is one of the worst I’ve ever been to. I would highly recommend that visitors avoid this establishment and go to a proper garden centre with a fantastic cafe like Fron Goch. The staff in Fron Goch are super friendly, go the extra mile for their customers and the food menu caters all dietary requirements. Avoid Bryncir cafe at all costs and if you’re cycling along the cycle track, bring your own sandwiches instead! (THIS REVIEW IS FROM A LOCAL WELSHMAN).

Last Sunday (14 July) I had Sunday lunch at this restaurant. There was nobody serving behind the counter for about 5 min. Eventually a lady and a young girl appeared but it was as if I was invisible. No hello or 'can I help you' so I had to state what I liked to order. No response other than to state the price and no 'thank you' or any other comment. They may been short-staffed but there can be no excuse for the silent treatment. In fairness, the food, when it came, was plentiful, of good quality and accompanied by a gravy boat that could have served 4 people. £7.99 for the lunch was very good value. It's just a pity that the atmosphere and customer service were so lacking.

We waited 10 minutes at the counter no one in front of us but a lady in the kitchen looking for something we questioned each other if she had noticed us? So we waited another minute and another customer came into the cafe area and said is anyone there the reply was ring the bell. At this point she saw us looking at the ice cream and should have said bare with me I will be with you but no she tured around and carried on looking for something again. We then looked for a cafe bell but no bell! After 10 minutes we then ask could we get an ice please the answer was you will have to wait I'm looking for something. Maybe she was looking for some customer service skills as I think she had lost them and the have lost our custom we wont bother going there again such a shame as it was a good place at one point.

Visited the garden centre for lunch but won’t be stopping again.Quiet mid week visit and sufficient staff however the dining room was freezing cold, the food came out barely warm and not as described on the menu.We ordered soup with homemade bread but it arrived with shop bought bread and cool soup. The sausage roll was mainly pastry and although we didn’t want it warmed it was so cold it was hard. At no point did anyone check we were ok and when I went to the kitchen counter to complain there wasn’t a member of staff to be seen for over 5 minutes. Both the table and floors were dirty with food under most tables and it was clear to see that this wasn’t from an earlier ‘rush’ of customers.Very disappointing!

My family and I stopped here for lunch on a trip to Caernarfon, having spotted it as we drove by.We wanted a lighter lunch, planning a bigger meal in the evening, so my daughters and my mother ordered the Butternut Squash soup, and I had the Sausage Casserole. It took a little while to arrive, during which we noted that the place was absolutely full, and watched the Turtles swimming in the tank at the side. All of it was glorious; the soup was perfect, served with a warm, fresh mini-loaf and lots of good butter. The casserole had a little stack of crushed potato and some garden peas.I thought the casserole could have done with a touch of seasoning, but it's probably deliberately made this way so people can add salt and pepper to their taste. It was lovely anyway, perfectly cooked and packed with good, meaty sausages. It's fair to say we were highly impressed, and would have returned on the homeward journey the next day if it had been open.

There was one woman preparing food for the only two customers in the whole place. Hardly rushed off her feet but still, I waited patiently for a good 5 minutes without so much as an acknowledgment whilst she prepared their food in the kitchen area in full view of me standing there. She took these over to the young couple then went off to clean tables leaving me standing at the till waiting to order without so much as a glance in my direction. It was at this point I decided that I was not going to give this cafe a single penny. I will never go there again and I urge everyone else never to go to this cafe as well. I have nothing to say about the actual garden centre itself as I only quickly walked through there.

This is my second visit this year. The first with my local garden club. This visit. Lunch break on the way home from an hospital appointment. The menu is very reasonable. Special board also. My husband was going to have the Pea and Ham Soup but unfortunately it had run out. So he settled for Chicken & Veg which when it came, it was very hot. Presented with nice fresh bread. Afterwards, we both had Fish, Chips and Mushy Peas for less than £5. The fish waa ok, and the chips and peas. We also had white and brown bread bread and butter. Lovely fresh hand cut bread. I had a large cappucinio and my husband had a large Americano. Very good coffee. Facilities very clean. The garden centre itself as definitely grown over time. Many plants, clay pots and stone pots. Garden ornaments and trees to buy. Good selection of everything. Also plants very reasonable. Good carparking. Tile and bathroom showroom also in the carpark.

I frequently pass this garden centre, but had never visited, I decided to nip in recently to check out their selection of house plants, I wasn't best pleased with their selection, but did purchase a Mexican cactus which I was thrilled with, as an avid cactus collector, I was overjoyed at the prospect of adding this little guy to my collection, I'd named him Pablo. Whilst here, I decided I might as well grab a cup of coffee and was pleasantly suprised to spot a selection of cake, however I was disappointed to find the cake was dry and bland and probably the ideal habitat for Pablo the cactus to live in, or would have been had I not had to eat Pablo instead, as the cake was inedible, he was considerably more delicious! I was fascinated to spot some Terrapins on the way out, but felt a little saddened by their sorry state, Terrapins are actually a semi aquatic animal who require more than a glorified shelf, barely big enough for a single terrapin. I was also incredibly confused as to why there were plastic plants floating in the water and not real plant life, as this is a garden centre? Overall, wasn't too bad, there was quite an impressive selection of plants, flowers and shrubs. Will certainly return again soon for some hopefully less arid cake. P.S do the Terrapins have names?

I visited here in March to look around the garden centre as I hadn't been here before and I must say I wasn't disappointed as the displays of the plants with their vibrant colours and good quality were beautiful. I must say that there were a wide selection of plants, shrubs and trees and they were of good quality and also a very reasonable price. The plants looked to be well looked after as they were well watered and looked attractive and appealing. Also the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful.

having missed out on Lunch we were starving when we saw the cafe sign, we went in and despite it being 3pm they were still serving roast dinners, so that is what we had. 2 thick slices of roast beef, 2 yorkshire puddings, roast and boiled potatoes, crunchy cabbage, peas and carrots plus a whole gravy boat full of excellent gravy - all that for £5.99 each. The HE had the superb fruit cheesecake with a jug of cream - a large slice for £2.99. it was so good we bought 2 more slices to take home as a treat. There wa a huge display of home made cakes and muffins and scones and if we hadn't stuffed ourselves with the dinner I can assure you we'd have had some. I just wish we lived close because then we'd be back often but 500 miles is too far for us to be regular visitors. A traditional cafe serving traditional food wonderfully well.

The café and garden centre lies on the south boundary of the Snowdon National Park on the A487 to Canarfon. The café does a home cooked Sunday lunch with beef, chicken ,or, pork and 4 veg. for £5.99.Add a pudding for £2.99 ,with custard of course , and you have the best value for money meal I've eaten this year. More to the point four of our grandchildren voted it a "return visit" and were also impressed with the bouncy play area outside. Incidentally my wife also said the plants in the garden centre were an interesting selection and well priced. Me, I'll stick to the rhubarb and apple crumble and custard.

What a great spot! We had a great visit to this secluded pub on the beach. There are two places you can park, at the Golf Club car park with a cost of around five pounds through an app, from here you walk over the golf course on the path/road to the pub. Or, you can park further down on the National Trust car park and walk along the beach to the pub. We parked at the golf club, walked over the golf course and then walked back along the beach and back up to the golf car park. The beach walk is great. There was a DJ on when we went and that gave it a good atmosphere outside we did not sit inside as the weather was OK. Food was available although we did not order anything. Friendly staff who served at the outside bar. Be careful of the closing times as that can be early if there is not an event on.

Had a coupla beers here, they dragged the large bean bags out for us. There was just the 2, I felt very privileged 🫅 Everyone was walking past greedily eyeing them up, before they took to their hard chair 🤭 I was so disappointed when it began to rain & we had to give them up. This place is one of my fave’s. I’d only popped back to get some of their lovely food but we couldn’t sit on the benches with the rain. We returned a few weeks later but they’d closed until spring. I can wait.

Meifod Country House is perfectly positioned for Caernarfon, Anglesey, the mountains and the coast. It’s a lovely old building, extremely comfortable and the staff are delightful. The house is decorated to a high standard and the antique furniture is beautiful. Tripadvisor needs updating as there is no restaurant at Meifod House. The only food available is breakfast - standard help yourself continental and what looked like well cooked hot breakfast if requested (we didn’t have cooked breakfast). We only saw and met two staff during our stay, both of whom looked after us very well - nothing was too much trouble. Our bedroom (Brymer), overlooks the field to the side of the property. The bed is enormous and very comfortable. The bathroom is huge, with a double ended bath and shower attachment attached to the taps (no actual shower). Good big towels, high quality bed linen, and a fridge in the room. When we return to the area we will stay here again. I recommend it highly.
