We come here often as we know it's really good quality food, that said it's regularly not cooked well and we have to send things back, last time it was the squid which the chef agreed was under cooked/ raw. This time, the monkfish was undercooked and inedible, each time the chef agrees that it isn't cooked correctly - why can't it be right?

Very disappointed! we went for my husbands birthday. To eat, we shared fish pie which was really dry, more peas and potatoes than fish and tasted like it had been frozen! We all felt our meal was rushed to accommodate ‘walk-in’ customers. (3 courses within 1.5 hrs) When booked they said that they could provide a ‘birthday desert’ for my husband which comprised of 2 Welsh cakes on a large dinner plate. Not a memorable experience.

This was our first visit, The room itself is not great (and the building unprepossessing to say the least), though the sea view is lovely. It’s a very hard place, rather reminiscent of a canteen and really needs some work on the acoustics which are awful. The food is good and interesting, though I always feel that there should be some consistency in terms of complete/incomplete dishes: for example, the crab claw linguine (eaten by one of us who thought it delicious) is a complete dish: the plaice isn’t and needs addition sides to make it so. (By the way serving Jerusalem artichokes with a couple of fried sage leaves really does not constitute ‘seasonal garden vegetables. The fennel jam was, however, one of the nicest things I’ve ever eaten. Nevertheless, we had a lovely meal – in terms of the food. The waiter was either having a really bad day or needs more training. He spoke at great speed and with little clarity; he dropped things; he knocked our drinks all over the table and floor, etc., etc. Not the best customer experience really. However, I have little doubt that we’ll be back

Was really looking forward to this. Positives - views are amazing - mackerel scotch egg was lovely. - Tarter sauce was nice. Negatives - daily catch fish fingers - poor, fingers weren't anything special - fries were (I believe) frozen - Crushed peas tasteless - seasoning required all round. - chicken was bordering on 'just' being cooked Drinks - asked for a pint to be given a bottle, maybe they don't do pints but the waitress didn't say. Price - well overpriced for what we got. Summary Not sure the meal we had would have passed muster for any Michelin judges. Probably won't return for anything other than the views.

Great restaurant in lovely sea front location. Food was good except the chips were over salted-admitted by staff, and several dishes were “heavy” on mushrooms, the plaice and the fish pie in particular. I was disappointed by the consistency of fish through the pie which is designed to be shared, one quarter had almost none but lots of peas and mushrooms.

The restaurant staff were really helpful. We had booked online two separate tables because no 4-person one was available but the man on the welcome desk found us one. The food was delicious and the views across Colwyn Bay are stunning. The woman on the take away counter was also really helpful and nice, when I bought a coffee and cake, later in the day. The only thing that marred the experience was the toilet cleaner who challenged me about whether I eaten in the restaurant. It was so unexpected. Other people were also using the toilets and weren’t challenged, though it may have been because she could only question one person at a time, rather than specifically targeting me. The toilets and foyer look like a council leisure centre, and I would have thought open to anyone. So even though I had eaten in the restaurant and entitled to use them - according to her rules - surely anyone needing the loo could use these facilities.

I was recommended this restaurant from my hotel in Penmaenpool and made the trek over. I didn't mind waiting for a table at all as I was looking forward to a lovely meal. I ordered crab linguine and was bitterly disappointed. The sauce was very, very watery. Slid off the pasta and didn't coat the spoon at all. Just slopped around the plate. I asked for some bread to mop up the sauce to try and at least take advantage of the small flavour present and was given two stone cold, as in had refrigerator chill, slices of chewy sourdough. In the end I gave up. I ate 1/4 of one of the slices of bread. You can imagine my surprise when I was then charged £3 for said bread and butter. When I pointed out that there was no butter provided and the bread was refrigerator cold the server (who was the same name as the person listed as manager on their menu according to my receipt), shrugged and said he'd let the kitchen know. However happily continued to take my money. My accommodation said they had met Bryn multiple times and he would be horrified to hear of this quality and service.. unfortunately Bryn maybe you need better quality control 😟 When you travel, every meal is an opportunity and experience, and restaurant is not one I'd recommend.

What a shame, we visited here today after being many times before & ordered coffee and lunch. When I asked for a tap water, I was told that I would have to pay for it! I said no thank you and left. Then I went back in to speak to a manager because under law, as a licensed premises, I understood that they are obliged to provide it. I explained that we had ordered lunch & that I needed the water for medical purposes. The manager was very condescending, talked over me & was clearly very annoyed that I was questioning their policy. He said that they couldn't give free water to everyone, that perhaps I could bring my own bottle next time or I could finish my coffee & use the dirty cup for water, to save them on washing up. Oh dear, what a shame.

Second visit, first time was for lunch last year. Dinner was very good. Starters we chose - gin cured salmon & roast prawns. Mains John Dory & the lamb rump. Extras new potatoes & 'seasonal garden vegetables' which was where it went a bit wrong. We were brought a dish of braised leeks which were a tad tough on the outside and unseasoned. If we'd known it was just one vegetable then we wouldn't have ordered this. Do leave room for puddings, Chocolate crèmoux which comes with toasted & salted pistachios, cherries & the best crème anglaise. Other half had the baked alaska, delicious. Only other whinge, apart from the 'seasonal garden vegetables' is the fact that this restaurant is in a stunning location with views over the bay. We were sitting next to the windows but the view was a bit spoilt by the fact the windows need a good clean.

Where do I start? Upon entering, a relaxed atmosphere. Staff exceptionally attentive. A small but well thought out lunchtime menu. This did not disappoint, a starter of Smoked Mackerel Scotch egg was the order, unfortunately the better half knocked her prosecco all over me and the food. It was almost cartoon like, the way staff appeared around the table and clearing the 'spoiled' food away. Fresh food was delivered within minutes and the experience restarted. Daily catch fish fingers, crushed peas and tartar sauce again excellent. Although I was caught between this dish and Crab Claw linguine. My fellow diner adjacent had ordered the crab claw linguine and confirmed how good it was. Next time I shall order if available. Next came the 'special' dessert Ice Cream sandwich - vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two almond shortbread and a strawberry sauce. delightful. We WILL return. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. You must try it.

This place should have been a shoe-in for a five star review. Great location on the beach and owned by a renowned chef. The day was beautiful too. Service was friendly but the food was really disappointing. We started with prawns with Bloody Mary ketchup - which could have done with having their dirt track removed but weren’t bad. The fried mussels were really tasty and warm but weirdly, served on crushed ice - which kept getting into the open shell. The real issue was with the fish pie. It looked beautiful when it arrived but had no flavour. I mean, plenty of fish and a lovely potato mash top but no taste. Also no seasoning. I would typically be looking forward to some mustard or even cheese sauce background flavour, but nothing! If someone told me the kitchen had forgotten to add 3-4 ingredients and salt and pepper, that would have explained things. So, I made the cardinal sin of eating it anyway because I was hungry and it wasn’t bad. Also, it took 30 mins to make and I didn’t want the hassle of sending it back without knowing it could be improved. We skipped dessert and bailed out. Big shame. I think Bryn Williams needs to do some spot checks on the food that’s going out in his name.

Really poor experience. Great views and location but no kids menus so as a family we didn't feel particularly welcome - odd for a place right in the centre of a family beach. Dishes are small and expensive. Had expected something special but the fish and chips were nothing more than basic. Didn't bother with the overpriced dessert menu and opted for a far more enjoyable ice cream from the friendly van on the back of the beach. £10 cocktails, £4 for an apple juice for my youngest. Also, the toilets are a bit like being in a leisure centre. It sounds picky, but if you are aiming to be a high end venue you have to cover all bases. If you like sea views and traditional Welsh dining this place is pretty good. The modern building means the ceiling is high, the windows are plentiful and tall and this means one big open dining can be very noisy and hard to hear your dining companions. The food is very good, if somewhat expensive compared to other local eateries, by about 20%. Portion sizes are underwhelming too, one Arancini ball for £8 and enough olive tapanade to make you sick is a bit miserly, as is the small square of Hake for £22! The sticky toffee pudding is very indulgent and much better value for money. We enjoyed the experience but £52 per head with wine means this is a special occasion venue only.

The location of Bryn William's restaurant with long glass windows is ideal. Wheelchair accessible entrance then in to an area for coffee's and cakes. Behind you can see the restaurant and the food being prepared fresh. Coffee is decent and strong but the chocolate had the novelty of a chocolate block on a stick which melts in the hot chocolate to thicken and add more flavour. We had a piece of gluten free lemon drizzle cake and Welsh cakes. Full of flavour, fresh, tasty and priced the same as other cafe's in the area. Need to book for a meal but this is a good Start. So, so many staff and so few customers, can't see how it actually operates at a profit. Really nice girl served us a coffee though.

I worked here for a year. I go back once in a while to try and maintain friendships. It's a really good place for a quick drink or a hearty meal.

the service is very good, an opportunity for a family on a small budget to taste delicious dishes, of course the menu is not very large and perhaps I would like more variety, but everything was very super and tasty

First visit at the Michelin starred Bryn Williams restaurant in Porth Eirias, the food was delicious and the service excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, and the prices are reasonable for the venue, service and the quality of the produce.

We called in for a drink on a weekday in October and were allowed to eat food from elsewhere in their outside area (seagulls permitting!) because they don’t do food themselves. Slightly surprised to see negative comments on pricing and plastic glasses. Proper glasses are permitted in their own demarcated area but if you want to take drinks further afield, you’ll need to settle for plastic. Prices? Under £12 for a large glass of red wine (and it was large!) and a pint of the local cider didn’t seem unreasonable to us but we’re from the Midlands. Perhaps locals don’t see it that way but it is in an absolutely prime location on the harbour side in a tourist area. Overall, a pleasant visit but do beware marauding seagulls!

Great pub,, good beer 🍺 and friendly staff. We arrived late and missed food, however staff allowed us to sit outside on tables, enjoy the weather and use the neighbouring takeaway,, whilst the 20 of us had several of the bars delights 🍺🍺🍺😁 Great pub, we'll be back 10/10 🌟 🤩

We came to the restaurant for an early dinner. The view and the interior were lovely. Menu was limited - sadly we couldn’t find any chicken dishes (not in a sandwich). I ordered beef brisket - it was served as a sandwich in between two ciabatta slices. It was soft, but the taste was sweet due to the chutney, and very disgusting due to the blue cheese. It wasn’t specified clearly, so I was hoping this cheese would be served separately and I just wouldn’t eat it, but nope, it was inside. The taste was very very bad. And the price was £14. Chips were served without any sauce, and no sauce was offered by the staff. So, it was very dry. Coffee was very bad and sour, had to ask for some milk to mix it together. Pavlova dessert for £8.50 was my biggest disappointment. It should be called micro-Pavlova. It’s the tiniest Pavlova I’ve ever seen, and so overpriced! Overall, can’t recommend - neither for the drinks, nor especially for food. Service charge 10% was already included into the price.
