Served by a lovely lady named Claire late at night. We were greeted with a friendly smile and advice to download the app for perks. Claire never stopped and informed us she was on her own ( you wouldn’t guess as the service was amazingly unaffected). We didn’t feel rushed despite being in close to closing time. Lovely lady, great coffee and brilliant ice cream. Good trip all round!!

I spent just over £20 with £8 discount on top of that and I wouldn't order again. Ordered a egg, turkey rashers and cheese bagel for £7. No rashers or cheese and a very egg dry bagel and a the toasted sandwich had hardly any filling. Drinks were nice and ice cream was lovely but very overpriced for what they were. All in all very disappointed..for the price I expected good quality food.

Had a coffee in here, served by a pleasant young man. I sat in the front area, looking out through the big glass windows, watching Friar Street go by. Three guys were drinking their coffee at a table on the pavement. My Americano, which came with a ridiculously huge amount of milk in a jug, was decent. Not up there with the very best of Reading coffee, for me, but the competition's very hot these days. Definitely a nice coffee, nonetheless, and a very relaxing and calm place to take a breather on that not very relaxing and calm street.

Visited about 20 times, and love the food, tea, coffee and gelato. The staff are lovely too, and the disabled facilities are first rate.

This cafe has become our favourite place for lunch in Reading. From the moment you step in the cafe, the quirky decor draws you into another world. Then the delicious food, divine coffee and friendly service makes you come back again and again. There is so much choice of food - from porridge to salad bowls to grilled cheese sandwiches to ccokie dough and ice-cream. They cater for vegans, too - I had a very tasty and filling falafel salad bowl, and can't wait to try their vegan milkshake. Our family has made a pact to only go there every time we are in Reading, so we can work our way through every scrummy item on the menu...all of which are much better quality and value for money than the common-or-garden well known brands on the high street. As they are in a quieter street in Reading (Friar Street - almost opposite Sainsburys), very few people know it's there yet, so we can always find a table inside for the four of us. In a way, we are dreading word getting out how great they are, as we will probably then have to queue to get in, but then at least it will guarantee that this amazing place doesn't suffer the fate of a lot of high street vendors in these difficult times. Honestly, you will not be disappointed, but don't blame me if you gain weight when you get addicted to their grilled cheese and poffertjes (fluffy mini dutch pancakes to dies for).

The very first time I ate from Georgie's; a friend had given me a bit of his kebab... I did not believe him when he told me it was from the van, at Norcot! And I definitely did not believe the price! That was back in 2014... My friends and I have been loyal customers since then, and would not think of getting a Doner Kebab from anywhere else (with, or without wheels!) The price has increased, only slightly, since 2014; but remains very competitive, and excellent value for money. I recommend asking if you can have the meat grilled, after being cut off the spit; if you fancy it a bit crispy. Honestly, either way, you won't be disappointed! I haven't been, in over ten years! The Lamb Doner meat is flavourful, and generously served. My only (slight) complaint would be an occasional stinginess, with the salad 🥗 unless you ask nicely (if Georgie, himself isn't working), you'll likely get only lettuce and a few onions; this place would be perfect, if they dished out the tomatoes, cucumbers and onions as generously as the kebab meat! My friends and I were distraught, during the pandemic lockdown; as Georgie, and his van, had gone missing! It made an already difficult time, all the more harrowing... But thankfully, he returned! I've never asked why, but you won't find him on Tuesdays... However, every other day; after 6pm, they'll be there, just passed Norcot roundabout, at the top of Scours Lane. Parking is ample, and free, for a swift collection. Georgie's comes very highly recommended; I've never heard a bad word, and everyone that's tried has become a fan. I've rated every aspect 5 stars... Except, the food; which got 4 (wish I could give 4.5!); but I had to mark down, because of the unpredictability with the salad... It always looks fresh, and tastes great, when you get it... But for whatever reason; the staff are extremely reluctant to throw a few tomatoes and cucumbers in the mix! Hopefully, that will change...
