Servicio encantador. Chips ligeros y esponjosos, scampi y una buena ensalada. Buena taza de té también. Restaurante limpio. Buena elección y muy razonable.

Tuvimos una encantadora cena de pescado con papas fritas con un servicio amable y eficiente. Era una buena relación calidad-precio y un entorno muy agradable. Lo recomendaría.

Esta siempre ha sido nuestra parada favorita de pescado con patatas fritas mientras visita Otley. Almorzamos aquí hoy y la comida no es tan buena como Antes lo era. El pescado era pequeño, sabía bien. Las patatas fritas se calentaron y algunas estaban duras. Tenemos que probar otra pescadería la próxima visita.

Durante los últimos dos años este ha sido nuestro lugar para ir a por pescado con papas fritas, sin embargo, nuestras últimas visitas han sido completamente decepcionantes. Las patatas fritas siempre están frías y exageradas. Puedo perdonar una o dos veces y darles el beneficio de la duda, pero ya ha pasado demasiadas veces. Desafortunadamente, tengo que buscar un nuevo chippy.

Excelente servicio y personal y buena calidad y relación calidad-precio y tubería cocinada caliente. Fue recomendado por un amigo nuestro que es muy conocido en la industria musical y tuvimos que probar. Volveré y se lo diré a familiares y amigos. La camarera era 10 de 10. Buena comida y lugar inteligente y cran. Y el aparcamiento está cerca y FOC, o puede utilizar el aparcamiento literalmente a 30 segundos.

Primera vez aquí después de una recomendación de un amigo que es extremadamente famoso en la escena musical y propietario de sello discográfico y famoso DJ. Así que tuvimos que irnos. De principio a fin la bienvenida y el servicio por la encantadora camarera amable era de grado A. Los precios eran muy razonables y la comida estaba perfectamente cocinada y tubería caliente y de calidad perfecta. Muy sabroso. 10 de 10 . Se lo recomendaré a familiares y amigos.

Estábamos de regreso de Harrogate y la Luz de Mi Vida (esposa) dijo "¿te apetece un poco de pescado con papas fritas? " Dije que no tenía tanta hambre, pero dije que sí y vería si hacían una pequeña porción. Optamos por The Wharfe Fish and Chip Restaurant en Otley, donde hemos estado muchas veces antes. Es un buen lugar ahora ya que tenía una renovación y ahora es más brillante y más acogedor y el nuevo look se hizo con un excelente estándar. La comida nunca fue un problema, ya que el Fish and Chips siempre ha sido excelente, ya sea, sentado en o desde la tienda de comida para llevar. Entramos y el personal como de costumbre era todo agradable y nos dirigieron a una mesa y nos dieron el menú. Poco después una señora muy agradable vino a ver si estábamos listos para pedir y en ese momento le pregunté si hacían una pequeña porción de Fish and Chips para mí y ella señaló el "Pensioners Special". Creo que vio el desdén en mi cara al mencionar esto (he probado "Pensioners Specials" antes en otros lugares y siempre me he mantenido alejado de ellos ya que la mayoría de ellos no eran muy buenos y algunos de ellos eran una mejilla sangrienta). De todos modos la simpática señora dijo que todavía eran un tamaño decente y también señaló que podríamos tener una porción lateral de guisantes mushy o salsa de curry y también té para dos incluidos en el precio de £ 7. 50 cada uno. ¡Qué demonios! "sí, voy a intentarlo y me gustaría el mío con la salsa de curry, por favor" y para mi sorpresa la señora dijo que tendría lo mismo. La simpática Señora recibió el pedido y regresó poco después con la olla de té para dos. Estábamos disfrutando de la taza (vaso de precipitados, no taza y platillo, no soy un poco meñique fuera tipo, Genial! ) No tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo y de vuelta ella vino con nuestra comida, y sí era un pescado pequeño, pero también era justo lo que quería. Excelente rebozado, un montón de patatas fritas igualmente buenas y un ramekin de una salsa de curry muy agradable. Ambos nos burlamos del lote y acordamos que era suficiente (sí, acordamos algo). ¿Nos sentimos engañados o como un ciudadano de segunda clase "NO lo comprobamos. Gracias a la simpática dama, lograste restaurar un poco mi fe en la humanidad. Resumiendo Comida y servicio, excelente. Precio £ 15. 00 lo que no te gusta. ¡¿Dejamos una propina (somos de Yorkshire) por supuesto que lo hicimos!!

El pescado más pequeño que nos han servido escondido bajo una pila de papas fritas. Han estado viniendo aquí por muchos años, no volverán. Estafar a Gran Bretaña es trabajar aquí. Se le ha advertido.

Entramos ya que no podíamos encontrar ningún otro lugar que queríamos comer. El pescado estaba lleno de sabor, la masa era ligera y crujiente y las patatas fritas estaban bien cocidas.

Tengo una comida para llevar de pescado con papas fritas x 2 y guisantes machacados. Pescado soso y grasiento y patatas fritas mal cocidas. Recomienda otras tiendas de pescado otley y patatas fritas - cabaña de madera y tío joes.

Visitó esta tienda de patatas fritas, mientras estaba en un viaje en autobús a Otley en Sat 31 calle agosto 2024. El lugar estaba muy limpio y ordenado. También el personal era muy amable y servicial. Tenía eglefino y patatas fritas que era sabroso y zumo de manzana, que era fresco y refrescante. Los precios eran buenos también. Lo recomendaría encarecidamente.

He usado El Muelle muchas veces a lo largo de los años y siempre he estado muy feliz. Sin embargo, mi visita de hoy fue muy decepcionante. El pescado era mucho más pequeño de lo habitual y la porción de patatas fritas también era más pequeña. Lo que realmente preocupaba era el estado de la camiseta de la freidora. ¡Absolutamente sucio! Luego se puso un delantal, que estaba en condiciones similares. Parece que ha habido un cambio regular de personal a lo largo de los años, pero tal vez este necesita mucha atención antes de regresar.

Since the management change things have got worse. People need to make profit I see that but to cut down on fish size,use margarine instead of butter even though your advert says bread and BUTTER. cut out the biscuits , then charge for bread and peas when previously they were included this sucks.The staff are great but the owners will kill this business if they try to make it like other Drakes shops.Sorry this is my last visit.

Used to go here on a regular basis. Last two times I have been it has gone massively down hill. Fish are smaller and over cooked. Chips are very greasy and just not up to the same standard. I can only presume it has changed hands. As it is I will not be going back to I hear it had drastically improved.

I agree with some of the more recent reviews. The size and quality of the fish has plummeted since the change of ownership! Even the staff seem a bit embarrassed by the shrinking portions. Such a shame, as this was one of the best chippies in Yorkshire for some time. I'm now going elsewhere!

Went for takeaway 11 June. So disappointed. We’ve been regular customers for more than a year. This has gone from one of the best fish and chip shops I have ever visited to one of the worst in just a few weeks after being taken over by new owners. Portion sizes have gone from very generous to very small. Quality has also deteriorated, fish overcooked and many chips were thrown away as they were black. Such a shame for customers and also for staff facing complaints.

We regular customers here for ages and always been happy. Not so now I'm afraid. Don't know if it has changed hands but recent visit really disappointed. Smaller and flimsier cartons and portion size half what it used to be. Also quality gone downhill. Fish small, hardly any fish all batter and chips smaller and not cooked as well. Did not enjoy at all. Waste of money. Both quality and quantity very poor. Sadly will not be going back and will have to find somewhere else to go for fish and chips.

absolute utter poo covered my chips in salt to the point it was un eatable , absolutely diabolical not paying for this absolute bullpoo. dog poo would of tasted better. never come back here again.

Lovely meal at the Wharfe Fish & Chip Restaurant Otley. The food was cooked to perfection and the ladies serving were lovely. Will definitely be going back and recommending to friends & family.

I decided after work tonight I wanted some fish and chips after a rubbish day, the lovely girl on the counter (i didn’t catch her name) gave me a lovely compliment and genuinely made my day. My yummy food cheered me up too, thank you so much xx

Gorgeous crispy batter covering thick white flaky fish. Didnt get any chips but other customers chips looked thick and golden. Always great service and amazing food. 100 per cent the best chippy in otley xxx

Best all round place to eat, very welcoming lovely fresh clean restaurant open till 6.00pm Wednesday to Sunday, with last orders for food 5.45pm, great choice of food, unbeatable prices, We had soup to start which was a large bowl with georgious fresh bread. pensioner special is Fantastic value for money and a drink is included plus it was a LARGE portion, unlike many others who only give minimal portions on pensioners deals. The lady serving was lovely and a credit to the restaurant. It's also Dog Friendly and you can sit anywhere, "what a bonus" we will certainly be back. Highly Recommended*****+

Friendly greeting in a lovely clean environment. Fish and chips freshly cooked and the best curry sauce I’ve had. Nothing was too much trouble for the two ladies serving.

The best fish and chips anywhere. Chunky fish, generous portions and friendly staff. Batter crispy on top AND bottom, no half cooked mush which is characteristic of so many chippies. Not only that but the fish is skinned! Brilliant!!

We live by the sea and are used to lovely fresh fish, but this was definitely the best fish snd chips we’ve had in years. Lovely crispy batter, perfectly cooked fish and not greasy. The chips snd mushy peas were pretty good too.

it was terrible i went in at 11.45 and ended up getting a warmed up fish and chips from yesterday. it was very dry over cooked. never go again overpriced rubbish. it didn't look anything like picture on website

Called here for takeaway fish and chips and sat on a bench outside. It has been a few months but had terrible meal back then and decided to give them another try. Wish we hadn't, again the fish was VERY DRY and overcooked as before. Difficult to eat as the flakes were welded together not flakey This used to be the best chippy for miles, not any more.

Attended a fish and chip supper with the Triumph Owners Club on 20th July 2023. The fish & chips were superb and the staff brilliant. Cannot thank them enough.

Food was overcooked and dry Took 20 minutes to take our order then on top of that Took 45 mins for food to come out our table wasn't ready for us when we got there eventually when we had booked it there was no sauce on the tables and glasses where not given.They had told us they were running low but then still Took ages.think it must be a new cheif as usually lovely.

Called in today lunchtime.Had takeaway as restaurant closed. Ordered small fish £3.50,small chips £1.50,and a can of coke total £6.10. Fish was beautiful,the chips weren't cooked enough for my liking. Would call in again if in area.

Best fish and chips I have had since I can remember. The fish was excellent and moist. Chips were perfect.

The takeaway is open at the moment. You place your order and wait outside until it's ready. I've never been here before but I'll come again, especially when the restaurant opens again! I had a special fish with chips and curry sauce, my sister had an ordinary fish, chips and mushy peas. When I gave my sister hers she thought I'd given her the special by mistake it was so big! We both agreed that they were the best fish and chips we've had in a long time. The staff were friendly and they have a good system. Highly recommended!

We always get our fish and chips from Murgatroyds, but they are closed at the moment. We went shopping last Sunday and noticed that The Wharfe was open. You stand at the door, place your order and then wait outside where you can distance yourself. The fish and chips were just as good as Murgatroyds - excellent - and very friendly too.I look forward to trying the restaurant when open!In the meantime we will be back this weekend for another takeaway :)

Have read loads of reviews, but gave never visited the restaurant part, only the takeaway. What a shame! We've been missing out!! Tremendous value, really good portions. The kids meals are big enough for a adult . All for a fiver, including a drink & ice cream. Other meals on the menu from £8are excellent value. All cooked to order.

Visited today after going to wharf meadows park. Really happy with the visit. Welcoming reception and delicious food. Also really good value for money. We did wait a while for our drinks however the waitress was working alone and it was quite busy so understanable. Water was brought for the dog too! We would definitely go back.

Best fish and chips we’ve had for years. Gorgeous food enhanced by first class service. The haddock was delicious and available in small, medium or large. Don’t be fooled, the medium was enormous!

Called in the restaurant on a cold wet Saturday. We had a warm greeting by a very pleasant member of staff. The menu suits all tastes and apoetites, including children and senior citizen menus. A slight wiat, as meals are cooked to order, and well wirth the wait. Light crisply battered fresh fish, crisp dry chips and mushy peas the roght taste and colour!! This restaurant is well worth a visit and their home made fish pie is exceptionally goid, as is their Calamari starter

I love the fish sticks. 5 for a £1. They are not sticks just small fishes in batter. The girl server was lovely too. Always call when I'm in otley and eat them on the benches at the rear of the shop.

Great lunch here today. Huge portions - the medium fish would be described as extra large anywhere else - and fantastic value for money. Special mention for the light crispy batter- simply the best I have ever had. Lovely light airy freshly painted interior with pristine new furniture and menus. Great service. Lovely tiles in the loo!

Our first visit since the recent takeover and the improvements are impressive. The restaurant is modern, light and clean. The portions are generous and great value for money, and the food is very tasty.

I visited this restaurant last week with my elderly father and both of us thoroughly enjoyed it. We both had fish and chips and found the meal to be of excellent quality and quantity. The fish was cooked perfectly. We were served by a very welcoming Scottish lady. We enjoyed it so much that we returned the following day. On this occasion I chose the meat pie.....packed full of delicious meat lean meat, with a pastry top. The establishment was spotlessly clean and offered generous opening hours. Great place, highly recommended.

We just called into the Wharfe for fish and chips to eat in the car as it’s such a nice evening.I can honestly say this is by far the the best fish and chips I have ever had the fish was cooked to perfection and the chips the same .The staff are very friendly and the fryer can do exactly that thanks and we will be back

Visiting Otley, very please with the fish and chips from here. tasty, good value. clean shop. Chips were particularly good. fish was very good, possibly on the oily side. but the tasty chips more than made up for that.

Wow, lovely extended dining facilities, immaculate and clean, very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful server and the food.....was amazing. Not your typical fish and chip diner for sure. The portion sizes are very generous and I cannot rate this place highly enough. There were 8 diners in our party and we all agreed that these were the best fish and chips we'd ever had. Cant wait to go back.

Encontré este establecimiento después de quedar varado cuando mi batería de ebike expiró cerca de la cima de la colina de Otley. We called into this restaurant on our day out in Otley 17th April. From the second we walked through the door we were made to feel welcome. The staff could not have been more helpful and pleasant - a rare breed these days! We were asked if we would like our drinks before, during or after our meal-this is a first in many years! We got the OAP's Fish n Chips, bread and butter, pot of tea, curry or peas all for £6.95 and it was delicious and just the right amount for us for a lunchtime. Its not always about the price but everyone loves a good deal and this deal was perfect! This was our first trip to Otley but it wont be our last and The Wharfe will be our place to go. Keep up the good work ladies.

I have been visiting this establishment with my family for a number of years any have always been very pleased. However, todays visit was a bit disappointing. Ordered two mini fish fillet meals for the children and when I got home found out it was one small fish fillet cut in half. Well... you can only imagine my disappointment. Felt a bit ripped off. For those of you finding it difficult to identify the fillet in the attached photo its the small elongated object in the bottom right. Behaviour such as in the competitive world of fish and chips can loose you buisness.

Food wasn’t bad, but both me and my brother both found hairs in our food, absolutely disgusting, the staff don’t wear hair nets, couldn’t bring myself to finish the food

Fish and chips were good and welcome on a chilly day in the park. Not sure the kids meals were good value could maybe have included a small drink. Wasn't cheap came to £20 for 4 of us without drinks. There's a very small area to sit inside but plenty of outdoor seating. Quite a lot of food choice plus ice creams/drinks etc.

We have enjoyed their home made fish pie, fantastic fish chips and mushy peas and our grandchildren meals from the children's menu. The fish is always flaky white and juicy with a thin crispy batter...perfect. A dessert board shows an excellent selection and there is a good choice of bottled water and soft drinks too.The chips are not greasy and the mushy peas as good as years ago. Spacious restaurant and outside seating too.

Called in for takeaway fish and chips . The fish was big with chunky flakes, perfect . The chips were also cooked to perfection. All not greasy which we very much appreciate, so many chippies seem to give you a cup of oil with the food, ugh! Worth the trip from Harrogate and will return.

Decided to have a change to a traditional Sunday lunch and was not disappointed.

It wasn't very warm in the cafe. We ordered tea with our meal there was one tea bag in the pot for two people the tea was like dishwater and it was cold. We then ordered a second pot of tea and all that was don was had water to the existing tea bag. The meal wasn't bad and the staff where Curtius Overall I was disappointed it might be all new but it has lost its character and charm.

Found myself with a few hours in Otley and went into the Wharf fish and chip restaurant without having done any research.

The best for miles around I would definitely recommend for families or even just a romantic setting its modern but with the personal touch

Para decir que éramos los únicos en el restaurante, tardó 30 minutos en realizar el pedido para obtener el primer plato y más de 15 minutos en terminar el tabke del abeto para ser limpiado y otra media hora de espera hasta que llegara el plato principal.
