Savannah’s service was outstanding. Her attention to detail was remarkable, ensuring everything was perfectly in place. She excelled in terms of timing and overall quality of service. It was an experience on par with the best five-star hotels, if not better. I am very grateful to Savannah for providing the best of the best. We had booked the private function room for 27 people. The food and service was excellent. Grace, our waitress was very attentive and willing to help.

Visited Cambridge to see family travelling into UK from America so wanted to give them an opportunity for a Sunday dinner and impress them with a nice meal before they head to Europe. Browns did just that, it isn’t the cheapest but the choice was varied and catered for everyone. We are wary of places on a Sunday and places doing Sunday roasts as they can be busy, have a drop in service and turn out Sunday roasts that are pretty poor. We needn’t have worried Browns at Cambridge ticked all the boxes. Lovely venue, prompt service and excellent food. We had a mix of vegan, fish, Roast Beef and chicken dishes and they were all first class. Hot and flavoursome. Then we had Crème Brule, Brownie and Rhubarb crumble for dessert, once again all superb. Our American family loved it and were so happy, they are off to London next so hopefully their brief stay and lovely lunch in Cambridge is the start of a brilliant trip!

Bottomless brunch, food was reasonably good, cocktails much the same, it's not bad value for money. The interior is a little the worse for wear, but with a nice interior update it would be a very pleasant place to visit.

We went for the 89th Birthday of my Grandad, and had the best time. Incredible staff, food and overall atmosphere. We had the roast chicken and beef, which were incredible, and the desserts were just as good. As mentioned, the service was amazing, with our waitress (Savannah) being so helpful and caring throughout the lunch time service. Couldn’t recommend here any more!!!

Superb place to eat. Our waiter Ultan was very polite, professional, and well presented. The food was excellent, well presented, and I even had the words happy birthday written on my dessert plate in chocolate which made my night. We were asked on entry and again by Ultan if we had any dietary requirements, or allergies which to me speaks volumes about the care Brown's takes to meet the needs of thier customers. Highly recommend you give this a look if you're in Cambridge.

Fantastic venue for afternoon tea or a casual meeting.

Had a really lovely evening at Browns last night. The food was gorgeous and our waiter, Ultan, was great. I remembered him from our last visit actually. There was a lovely pianist playing throughout the evening and when we first seated somewhere that we didn’t love, we were moved without any fuss or drama. Great evening. 🌟

We walked in and a man showed us to our table which was right in the sunlight (that was lovely) then as we looked at the menu there were so many options for kids and adults . staff are lovely and welcoming, and so good with kids!I really recommend this restaurant especially with family or your partner.

Toilets could be spruced up a little. The restaurant had a good atmosphere. The service was very good, with polite and attentive staff. The food was excellent and well presented. Everything we had was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious.

First time back in Cambridge in 20 years and we were really looking forward to an early Easter roast here, however, the service was disappointing. After our server took our order, we never saw him again. We had to ask the person who brought out our food for another drink and different server for our check. The roast was tasty, but unfortunately the lack of service made us wish we went somewhere else.

We hadn’t visited for ages but thought it would be convenient for lunch after visiting an exhibition at the Fitzwilliam Museum - we were very pleasantly surprised by the lovely and good value set lunch menu with delicious choices and also our waitress, Grace, gave first class service in her attentiveness and friendliness.

Our waitress Grace greeted us with a lovely bright smile and took our order. Our food arrived hot and we didn’t have to wait long for our meal. We were impressed at how efficient, warm and pleasant she was without being intrusive . The meal was enjoyable . Though we thought the portion was ok it could have been better presented.

The premises are looking a little tried and could perhaps do with a little love. The outdoor welcome definitely needs rejuvenation, as do the bathrooms. A lovely restaurant, with a welcoming atmosphere, very friendly staff and delicious food. The location was also perfect for visiting the Fitzwilliam museum before our lunch.

First visit for a long time, and a great time was had. Good food and drinks. Had the Sunday lunch, was delicious and to a high standard indeed, atmosphere is relaxed as the building is fabulous to dine in.

It was a special occasion, my mum’s 90th birthday. The preordering was fairly straightforward to do. The food was delicious and our party of 15 had a lovely time, as did my mum. The special dessert was a real surprise and a lovely touch.

We had a lovely day at Browns, catching up with friends. We met for brunch and ended up staying for 5h because it was such a nice team that kept us well fed and “watered”. Wiktor as our waiter was who really made this visit so enjoyable. He was very attentive, friendly and provided exceptional good service through out our brunching and drinking and afternoon tea-ing at Browns. 10/10

Beautiful building and lovely and warm on the cold Friday night that we visited. Great menu, we had sharers to start and mains. All excellent quality as I have come to expect from this chain. Seamless service, never waiting too long for anything and plenty of staff on hand It can get a little loud inside and the noise echoes around a little, but the bonus is that no-one else can hear your conversation. Will definitely return five ⭐ from me

Was treated for an afternoon tea with my daughter and was asked what my dietary requirements were twice. I'm a pescatarian (I eat fish but not meat) and was brought a vegetarian afternoon tea (or so I told). I had 4 finger sandwiches, 2 cheese/pickle and 2 egg, whereas my daughter had 3 different plus two brioche rolls, one with prawns and the other salmon (which I eat but hadn't been given them!?) which I felt a bit robbed to be honest! Scones were fab, and so was the lovely chocolate cake, but the others were marked as non-vegetarian on the menu, so I could not eat them and we brought them home for our partners! I didn't want to spoil our afternoon by making a scene and my daughter was so sorry that things weren't right for me! Attention to detail is so important and I just feel that this is certainly lacking for a vegetarian as only able to have 25% of the cakes, but please educate your staff so they know what a pescatarian is ... and don't assume and penalise us for our dietary choices!! We had an amazing event dinner in the Browns. I want to say that Victor and the team was so helpful and patient. Our experience was so amazing, so we would be happy to come back. One more time, they are so happy to have Victor, he is a star!

Extremely nice mothers day afternoon tea. Bit dissappointed that we got charged for our grandsons hot chocolate as he didn't drink tea or coffee which was included in the overall price. Didn't notice till we got home. Bit cross really. Unfortunately didn't have the wine...

Absolutely charming place, servers all extremely helpful and attentive, especially ours (Thank you Ultan!!). One of the best breakfasts I've had in England in 3 months, the quality of the cuisine is incredible, the fresh produce (incredible smoothie) and the price is much lower compared to much less deserving places. We shared our dishes between 2 so we could enjoy ourselves even more 😃 We will definitely come back!! thanks again

Good food, good atmosphere, good staff. All round good experience. Even had the piano playing some of the time. It was a bit dark in there so a bit more light would be good.

Ultan served us for Mothers day. He is incredible and his customer service was great. Always checking in to see if we need anything. Food was great and served in an orderly manner. Will be back!

Great food, good choices and well cooked. Friendly helpful service. Fab cocktails and great atmosphere. I had the prawn and crab linguine which was very tasty. Friends had the fish pie, fish and chips all of which they enjoyed. The puddings were delicious.

The experience that my family and I shared at Browns was very positive. We were impressed by the knowledge of the wait-staff and their willingness to make our visit as positive as possible, particularly our server at dinner Ulston. My only negative feedback was that the bar is not catered by wait-staff, which understandably requires additional members of staff to be available however, would enhance the special experience that Browns is trying to offer.

Good food, good atmosphere a great evening

Visited with a party of 6 on a Sunday - I opted for the 'Sunday Roast' which was only luke warm. It was apparent the food and had been kept on hot plates or similar and was a bit disappointing. In fairness, my guests, who ordered from the main menu, had excellent food - the steaks in particular cooked exactly to order. During the meal we ordered 2 pints of beer, 1 was presented significantly lower fill than the other - when highlighted our server promptly went back to the bar and 'topped it up' but I did feel that you could see really easily that the measure was short and I'd rather they rectified this before bringing to to the table. We were also told that 4 menu items were not available, and this included 'fish and chips' and a 'burger'. These are easy to source menu items, and I found it quite odd that a restaurant of this standing and size could not maintain a fairly basic food supply chain! After my meal I ordered a salted caramel old fashioned cocktail - the glass had a large chip on the side, sufficient that it might cut your mouth if you drank from the damaged rim. I was concerned that shards of glass may be in the drink itself so walked to the bar to request a replacement, to be fair the bar staff were apologetic and re-made the drink in a fresh glass without question. When our bill arrived we were charged £82 for 6 glasses of champagne that we had free vouchers for, and had specifically told the server about when ordering, had we not checked the bill and paid with good intent we would have been £82 down on this error. Overall we had a good time, when we raised concerns with staff they did address them, but the combination of disappointments was such that I did request the service charge included on the bill was removed, which is not something I usually do and reserve only for situations where I feel the overall offering falls quite short of my reasonable expectations.

Was there with a run club after we had ran the Cambridge half. There was 20+ of us and Ultan did a great job serving us. The food was great and service amazing. Would recommend.

We came for bottomless brunch and had such a fab afternoon. It’s a great value thing to do with friends. The drinks were great, the food brilliant and we had the absolute best waitress- Drew was an absolute dream. She was friendly, efficient, we chatted away and laughed with her. The cinnamon sponge I had for dessert was one of my favourite puddings I’ve had for a long time. Great friendly service from Ultan.

We were here at an odd time 4.30pm. Food was generally good but expensive for yhe portion size particularly on Shepherds pie. Good drinks selection. A bit cool heating wise.

Not a great afternoon tea. Before even sitting down and removing our jackets waiter asking for our drinks order. Haven’t even had the chance to put my coat or bag down let alone look at drinks. 2 minutes later he’s back, waiter quickly talks about the afternoon tea, asks for our drinks order. Once again… haven’t really read the menu. Back 2 minutes later, we just get breakfast tea. Our menu’s taken away and we sit, slightly confused but waiting. A hamper with sandwiches and cakes arrives shortly. Wasn’t sure what we received, but anyway it was here, well presented and we were hungry. Tucked in. Scones were lovely, sweets were nice but too much for us. Sandwiches were fine but bread was slightly on the stale side. Very rushed experience, too much intrusion by our server, offering drinks every 2 minutes. Didn’t give us the chance to actually eat or drink. Gratuity automatically added to the bill- yes the service was “attentive” but it was bordering on intrusive and annoying. 3 stars for delicious scones. the rest needs serious improvement.

It's a shame the experience wasn't great. The English Breakfast Tea was advertised as loose tea but came as teabags. The sandwiches were not replenished considering they were only 3 different flavours and were only finger ones. The scones were mini ones , however the cake selection was fine. Maybe they should consider twice the amount of sandwiches.

Drew was the most amazing server I have ever been served by. Would recommend this place has the most decadent food and excellent service.

I seem to end up in Browns every few years for corporate meals, and it's always good. Despite the chore of pre-ordering, one of the starters wasn't available - but the alternative turned out to be if anything, tastier. They had a really good selection of non-alcoholic beers, which is excellent to see. It did take me two attempts to get the one I wanted, but again, it was worth the effort. We went on a rainy Thursday lunchtime in February, which didn't help the atmosphere - but I would say Browns wasn't feeling very 'grand'. The flags on the roof have faded from brown to blank-white. Maybe they will get a refresh in the Spring? But the food was tasty, the beer was good, the prices were not outrageous and the services was fine. It was busy with customers, so they must be doing enough.
