Toast. We came for The Browns Experience and that is what we got. A Breakfast cooked with our request of options, The Mugs of Tea was Alright and it got drank. Make sure you ask for Toast as confusion was in the Request 'Can we have some Toast with our Breakfast" left us with bread grilled on one side and margarine on the other white none grilled side lol,But Guys we get that you were busy so we say Thank You anyway .

This is one of my favourite go to places and when I visit Cleethorpes I always come here. The mugs of tea are the best you will find anywhere. It is specially selected for the cafe, always fresh and piping hot with a fantastic flavour. The food is well cooked and because of the high turn over of meals again always fresh and delicious. The quality and quantity of the food and drinks are both very good and everything is value for money. I have always found the staff friendly, helpful and cheerful and work very hard as it is always busy and well attended. The premises are very clean, wel decorated and comfortable. Clearly the owners take great pride in providing a first class service to both locals and visitors. It is in a prime location over looking the water front and beach, with convenient parking. There is limited out door seating but it is great to sit out the front as it is sheltered. Brown's cafe is a long established gem and hopefully here for future generations to enjoy. You have a successful formular so keep on doing what you are doing. Just love this place.

Usually I would rate this cafe one of the best in Cleethorpes. Unfortunately on this occasion my girlfriend did not appreciate being served pork sausages and bacon on her Vegan breakfast.. The receipt actually printed said “Special” breakfast so staff had wrongly entered this at the till/order process. When asked about this the Management explanation was that the buttons are close together and it was a simple mistake, ha simple mistake!! Staff eventually changed the breakfast for the correct one but this again came out with items missing such as mushrooms and fried bread. Full refund was given after some debate.. Shall we say, bad day at the office/cafe..

I've been coming to browns for years. Brought the kids when they where young and now they are taking us. The atmosphere is always freindly and the food is always great and reasonable value. Today's visit was breakfast with my son and a chance to have a chat and a catch up. We had a slight issue which I realise not everybody will see the same. Dogs!!! I don't have a problem with dogs. And I understand when you've just been for a walk on the beach and you need a cuppa then browns is Ideal, as it's dog friendly. However when you are trying to chat and dogs are barking and laying alongside your seat it's not ideal. I don't suspect there are many issues with dogs. But I'm not keen on sitting near them and hearing them barking whilst I'm chatting and eating my breakfast

Luckily found this place as our usual favourite was shut today. I was very pleasantly surprised to find another Cleethorpes chippy/cafe that uses vegetable oil and allows dogs in.We had 2 x haddock, chips & peas, kids fish & chips and 3 bottles of drink for £26 which was more expensive than our usual cafe, but we did have a sea view. This is the perfect breakfast, one for the English Breakfast connoisseur, builder, bricky or non calorie counters.Breakfast in differt sizes £5, or the plus (as seen) £7. Tea is proper builders TeaBreakfast inc, beans, Toms, Black Pud, Mushrooms, toast & Tea. Not greasy, perfectly cooked and was in heaven whilst eating it. Hats off for maintaining an old tradition in a very clean environment, you can see cooking area. The only niggle i have was when i asked if i wanted fried bread or hash browns, i selected the later, only to be charged extra 95p. I did not see any indication that this was a paid extra i had assumed an option as part of the breakfast. As the breakfast was very generous, tasty and non greasy, i overlooked this. But would suggest the staff be clear about how being charged as some may take offence.Service was quick efficient and little waiting time, one way sytem and usual covid rules applied. Thumbs up despite the unknown extra charge.

I remember coming here quite often as a child and haven't been to Cleethorpes in years! Seeing Browns cafe on the Prom still open made me so happy and i made the other half go for a cuppa! We had been sat down about 10 minutes on a Saturday afternoon with teas when a lady (who had been cleaning tables, sweeping the floor etc) came over and took our cups off the table with only the words "we are closed now". This lady didnt ask if we had finished our drinks - WE HADNT! Other people were still eating too. Granted, the cafe may be close to closing up for the day, but taking our half filled cups after we paid for the drinks was downright RUDE! I wont be returning here which is a real shame as i had so many nice memories of this cafe. Il be sure to tell people about this awful lady too! Shame on you for your rudeness to customers!

Fantastic visit to Browns, traditional sea front cafe serving fantastic food. I had the fish and chips and my partner has the plus breakfast, were both incredible. Only slight problems would be pushchair access - due to old design it is hard to get through and find a seat where you aren’t blocking other areas. The other thing that let the place down would be bread, added bread for 40p to my fish and chips and was given one slice, must be making a 1000% profit margin per loaf! Other than that, fantastic traditional cafe and would definitely visit again!

Everything apart from the chips were cooked and fried fresh, but the wait wasn't too long. . The servings were large, but everything was really greasy, not just chip shop normal greasy, but seriously dripping in it. . It may have taken a while to order but we soon found out it was because the nice lady at the till has a lovely little chat with all of her customers! She was very obliging when it came to tweaking their meals to meet the families needs - nothing was a problem. We were pleasantly surprised at the very good quality of their well seasoned meaty sausages and bacon in their full English, considering the affordable prices. Our scrambled eggs were perfectly fluffy and not tasteless as you might expect at some cafes. With clean tables & cutlery, above average food and friendly service, it just left the jolly seaside atmosphere to take in.

They served me a perfectly fried fish. I don't mean adequate or good - I mean perfect. The chips were paler than I prefer, so I didn't expect much by the sight of them, but they were very good chips indeed. They were kind enough to do me a child's portion, which was enough to fill me at £2.60. The staff were courteous and the food was served promptly. The only fault in the place is that it has no lavvy, otherwise place this would get five stars. If I lived locally, and they would serve me a child's portion every time, you would see me in here every day.

Visited on armed forces day as everywhere else was too busy. Only bought a couple of burgers which were perfectly acceptable. Even my fussy daughter enjoyed it. Also the prices were reasonable too.

I popped here for lunch whilst working locally, and was pleasantly surprised. I chose a tuna salad sandwich and cup of tea to go, price was reasonable, and food plentiful. The sandwich was on sliced bread, served on a disposable plate, and had lots of filling. I would definitely return if I was in the area.

Not bad at all. Went here Sunday 2nd July. Prices reasonable, food hot and very quick service. Loses one circle for me because there are no toilets which I don't think is good.

10am straight off train and in to cafe for breakfast - great value eggs on toast, mushrooms on toast and tea to the right strength. Busy and popular but space available. Now set up for the day, and the sun is shining. Why go elsewhere?

The view over the promenade is lovely and the food is cooked fresh as you order. It is delicious food, and very reasonably priced. But It is in the early 80's of Formica tables and chairs. There are also no toilets on site. When I enquired, I was directed to the railway station, but these were closed down, and then I had to go to the ones in the amusement arcades which were 30p, for one of the grottiest toilets that I've been into, in many a year.I would go back, but next time I would use as a takeaway, and eat my delicious haddock and chips on the beach out of paper... before trying to find some nicer toilets to wash my hands. As a footnote, cleethorpes as a whole seemed to lack nice toilets, which is a shame as it is one of the nicest beaches I've been to.

Been here several times over the years and have always had good food along with good service. On this occasion we noticed the place has had a makeover, and different staff so has possibly been taken over. It all looks nice but while they have taken care of the look of the place, things have obviously slipped in the food area. Ten of us went there for a breakfast and I'm sorry to say none of us enjoyed it. The worst sausages I have ever tasted, just couldn't eat them. The mushrooms are without question tinned. Disgusting. Again couldn't eat them. Bacon dry and cold. Toast came already buttered. I might have wanted dry toast. They didn't even ask. In the past we would always get the toast with butter portions on the side. I had a cup of tea which came already sugared. Again I didn't want sugar. Why would you do that. Very unprofessional. Such a shame that somewhere that has been good for many years is suddenly a no go place. Sorry guys but will be avoiding you in future.

This place has changed over the years, after last year (2023) I wasn't sure if I wanted to come back, but I'm glad it did. Myself and mostly Gluten Free family had lovely carvery. - Good Cleanliness - Decent Atmosphere - Nice Setup - Meat was cooked to perfection. 🤌🏻 There's were however a things that wasn't particularly great... - I was the only person in the line for a carvery and I watched 12 minutes go by. - The roast potatos were VERY crispy. - No more refillable drinks! I got very annoyed standing there, I have a blue badge due to my disability and my lordosis wasn't doing great but I managed. I know people that wouldn't be able to manage that kind of wait which could take away their independence. Admittedly I only had one roast potato, I like to think I pick the ones that look the best and look fluffy. But the texture and taste wasn't great. Could have been a bad pick, bad batch or just a bad day. I have really enjoyed them in the past. For a refillable drink it only cost 15p more than a regular pint of pop. 😬 So I was shocked to find that there is no more refillable.

Chicken and pepperoni pizza was a generous size and had plenty of chips too. Staff friendly, don't remember asked if our meals were OK though. Good overall though.

Sourdough with starter was like a rock, tried to cut, all over the table. Main course fish was average. Main course was lukewarm, cous cous was cold and clumpy, flat bread was like cardboard, salad was fine! Expensive, didn’t complain but would never return or recommend
