The Wheatsheaf in North East Lincolnshire

Due to a little miscommunication (nobody's fault) we were offered a meal and thoroughly enjoyed it. Steak was cooked perfectly. We now need to go and try the new menu. Can't fault anything at all 👌

Used the function room after football, put food on for us. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Thanks to the staff.

Friendly staff. We went on a busy evening. We were informed of a 45min wait for food. It turned into 90min wait. There were a lot of people around us complaining. The staff were very nice and apologetic. There definitely wasn't enough staff serving to cope with the amount of customers. Food was average. I would definitely try there again and hopefully it wouldn't be as busy.

Don't like to give bad feedback, but the order was wrong. The food was cold, and they did not tell us all the eggs are scrambled, not fried

I am always happy when I pop to the Wheatsheaf the food is good and especially love the new dessert creme brulee, the staff are always so attentive and nothing is too much trouble.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Wheatsheaf. we tried the new menu and we weren't disappointed. Service was efficient. Drinks are reasonably priced too. The staff were great and attentive nothing is too much trouble. Will definitely be back again.

There was some confusion about my order, ended up waiting a considerable amount of time after asking 3 times when the food was coming. Food was OK when it eventually arrived.

Took my daughter for breakfast with Wednesday and had a lovely time there! My daughter loved seeing Wednesday!Staff were absolutely amazing took us to the table and were really helpful and made us feel welcome! We went for the breakfast with Wednesday event they had on, we ended up with extra people and they were really accommodating and lovely about this. The event was really good and all the staff were lovely. Food was amazing and came really quickly

We came for the Jack & Sally Halloween breakfast. It was absolutely fantastic and such good value. Children really enjoyed it.

Came for the breakfast with jack and sally...complete waste of money! Jack and sally came out for 10mins had photos did one song then went...£10 for 2 small sausages 1 hash brown and some beans! No interaction from the staff! Really disappointed

Great staff, great food, very warm and welcoming

My server Chloe was delightful!! nothing was too much for her and she completed things i asked for like sauces etc. It was wonderful to have a waitress like her, her service was 10/10 always nice to have a welcoming smile with her bubbly personality.

Our first meal, and last. Couldn't get vegetarian options I wanted cos they had run out. Overpriced for the portions. Our waitress had perfected the art of throwing plates at us. It's a place for kids cos they don't know any better yet. Back to Wetherspoons!!!

It is very clear that management here is clearly not good enough , i came in today and could see that the only bar staff on the front bar looked very uncomfortable as she was left on her own on there for multiple hours with no sort of help apart from the odd time the manager on shift would come and serve 1 or 2 customers before disappearing again, the manager had a very unapproachable face and times i have come in previously i have seen another one of the managers sat contempt on her laptop while the floor and bar staff are struggling, as for the food a young girl named Chloe brought it out, she was very helpful and polite and the food was brilliant, i will unfortunately not be returning as the management here seems very unprofessional.

We go with a couple of friends for a meal occasionally. The food is always good , the service is good also. It's a nice place to relax at a reasonable cost.

Once again the service and food was excellent and with a 40% off main meals offer made it good value for the money.

Just enjoyed a delicious lunch ( Rainbow Lasagne ) very nice atmosphere and excellent customer service. Dog friendly too!

Really gone downhill. Simply can’t cook a steak. Ordered medium, come out well over well done, really dry and chewy. Not ideal for a £20.49 mixed grill. Told the waiter, and he offered a free drink but no replacement for the 8oz steak. Said he’d have a word with the kitchen. Heard nothing back for ages, so asked another member of staff if he’d heard off the kitchen. Spent 20 minutes waiting still not heard anything so left without a sorry or a refund. Definitely won’t be returning

Absolutely brilliant, lovely meal with the family , staff was amazing and went above and beyond for my pregnant partner with a mocktail, there ultimate burger was and looked amazing , definitely be back for more and all the best for the staff , 10/10 for service!.

Cocktails and drinks are reasonably priced its always a lovely time here in town in the Wheatsheaf. There is a brilliant menu and a relaxed atmosphere and cosy surroundings. The barstaff are wonderful and the food is perfectly cooked. 🥰 plenty of parking space and outside areas to enjoy too. A well looked after venue all round.

Not a terrible place or experience, food good, friendly staff and place well maintained.

I ordered the macaroni cheese as a main, it really was delicious, with crispy onion pieces on top. Yummy. I then had the chocolate orange pudding with ice cream and this was also delicious. My son had fish and chips and he wolfed it all down.

Came in for Sunday lunch 22nd Sept 2024 ordered 2 x duo, s chicken and gammon. Gammon was very poor looked like a slice of bacon. asked them to change my meat for beef, which they did even though one of the server said I could only have extra chicken because beef was more expensive (50p).also not enough gravy asked for them too bring some more, which they did our server lucas was nice and polite. Enjoyed the beef and Yorkshire pudding roasties where frozen variety and overcooked and few where edible. and the frozen veg of cabbage, peas and leeks where undercooked. The roast vegatable again where hard and undercooked apart from the carrots which where fine. All in all the beef and Yorkshire best part of the meal which I ate the rest of the meal I left shame really that I ended up disappointed after spending nearly £40 to eat there

Server * Chloe * was very accommodating when in over the weekend. Went above and beyond. Making sure our meals were perfect. Previous experiences not so much. Will be coming back soon. Fingers crossed to the just as good service and food.

Absolutely brilliant food, such a lovely atmosphere and my server, Chloe, was absolutely fantastic and delightful this evening, 10/10 recommend to everyone.

Wasn't very busy but we had booked a table, however I think children had been sitting there before we arrived, the carpet had ground in chips around the table so we asked to move which was fine. I think this is something that should have been picked up by the staff and not customers. We did go on to have a nice meal.

Food has been disappointing recently. However the staff are amazing and still professional and helpful as always. Shame about the food...

Not been for a while but very disappointed. Ordered Sunday lunch veg and roast potatoes obviously frozen variety ,meal very salty. Luckily the meat was edible or it would have all gone back to the kitchen. Even though we didn't need to use the salt pots it was a good job because they had rusty lids and salt was damp. We did make a comment at the time but nobody acknowledge it. Won't be in a hurry to go back.

My husband booked a table for our wedding anniversary table 47 !He booked this with a young man George on Thursday last week ! We turned up at 15.30pm to find our table was taken !My husband went to the bar and the staff member George denying all knowledge saying he was not working when my husband booked the table " George then realised he was wrong and apologised to my husband!? However if a staff member lies how can they be trusted. Danielle and team did an amazing job at organising our reception for our wedding, kept us in the loop, managed to fit 60 guests in the room, food was amazing and so fresh and hot, drinks were lovely, Danielle did everything we asked for, couldn't of been more of a perfect night, thank you so much guys from Mr & Mrs crampton

An hour wait for food, when it finally arrived the gammon was good, the scampi ok but the lasagne and burgers were overcooked. Non-service dogs are allowed in. We “enjoyed” a dog barking constantly during our meal. The should, but didn’t, insist that it was taken outside. Overall, pretty crap. We’ve eaten there several times but I doubt we’ll bother again.

The food was amazing , tasted perfect and very good for price , atmosphere was set beautifully and the staff were very friendly with us when we came in till when we left

Came here for drinks on my birthday, had a lovely time, had a great selection of drinks, cocktails etc. ordered nachos which were lovely! Lovely staff members behind the bar.

Visited for the rapunzel event with my family I've not eaten here for years as never rated the food just my opinion. The rapunzel event was very poorly organised very bad communication for the families placed on the bottom section. Apart from receiving a colouring sheet and being greeted by the princess we had very little interaction in our area. Staff never gave us info on ordering our own breakfast which was extremely average. Not all children was given the same food option. After leaving disappointed I had another event booked which I attended after speaking with my sister who had been to previous events she had said how amazing they was so was reasured it was a one off. So attended the teddy's bears picnic which was lovely well organised food ordered by adults still average. But children had an amazing time. So I would of attended more events just not chosen to eat here again myself. after expressing my disappointment of the rapunzel event on the facebook page. Wheatsheaf replied with excuses not willing to except constructive criticism altho my positive experience was fine. They Could of reached out on messenger instead deleted my comments. Terrible customer service not the way to deal with complaints would not return now.

I had a Mixed grill when I came and it was loverly. My mum had the gobi curry. Everyone’s meals arrive quickly and they were all Perfect. The service at the bar was top notch. I think he was called Lucas. He was friendly and had great advice on what to have. The food was brought out by a young lass called mollie and she was very helpful and got us extra sauces.a would recommend.

Came in on a Thursday afternoon was served by the lovely Olivia. The halloumi skewer I had was beautiful the presentation was very colourful.

Daughters Sunday dinner came out with no gravy at all We asked for gravy and no apology was given We got enough cabbage to feed an army of rabbits Fatty meat No mince sauce available Basic microwave meals £55 down the drain

6 people went for a meal. Absolutely disgusting. Missing items from our meals. Cold dried out chips and over cooked meat. Never had a nice meal from here. Do not recommend at all. Save your time and money.

On of the best pub experiences in grimsby, near the college, thus a good mix of students and academics, plus of course the requisite building trade stopovers.

The food was amazing but when making changes to the meal due to preference or dietary requirements we were charged extra Also if you struggle with stairs or use a wheelchair do not hope to be served at the lower bar quickly they will walk past (albeit apologising) to do top bar tasks That being said the staff were helpful carrying drinks out when they weren't too busy and everything was reasonably priced

The food made me and my mother ill and am pregnant will not ever be coming back here again disgusting and there is hardly no vegetarian options

here today ordered the cheese and bacon burger and like usual it’s exquisitely delicious from dave’s expertise. i had it served with mouth watering bbq sauce. the burger packed crunchy lettuce and perfectly cooked beef 10/10 would come back thanks to the comforting team lead by danielle every experience is the best one

We had a stall at Sheaf Fest. It was a brilliant day, the live music was fab and the event had such a good atmosphere with a fantastic turnout. The event was organised by Beth who did an amazing job, a massive thank you to you ☺️

One of my favourite places for live acts and there’s been some amazing ones this year. Attended Sheaf Fest last weekend Beth did an amazing job in organising the whole event and was visible all day which was fab to see. It didn’t disappoint! Great acts and local stalls all whilst raising money for charity. Even though it was a busy day staff were efficient, the whole day was just awesome

Played with my band Dusty Finger at the Sheaf Fest last Saturday. Was a wonderful family event, everyone was in great spirits, plenty for kids to do and endless live entertainment. Was great to play live on such a great day, and the organiser Beth did a great job as there was a lot going on, but was always on hand to answer any queries leading up to the day. Cant wait to play again next year.

Had an amazing experience at SheafFest here last weekend. Incredible atmosphere, excellent service and lovely staff. Beth in particular was extremely helpful in answering questions, and let me know everything I needed to know far in advance before my set. Very excited for any more music festivals here in the future!

I went with a friend on the last Saturday night of July and had a great time. We had a cheap & cheerful meal which was also nicely made, and several flavoured ciders. A good night out for about £40 each. Bands on stage in the car park, solo performers in the bar, plenty of seating inside and out, and friendly staff and customers. Customers were aged from early twenties to people in their eighties, plus families with kids. Best night out in ages.

Had a fantastic day at SheafFest listening to some great music and eating great food! Only thing to improve is service, maybe getting 2 or more bar staff behind bar to minimise queuing for drinks.

If you want a Sunday roast there’s no better place! Food was amazing and the service was second to none. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back!!

Went at 17.00 hrs pub was busy but we had booked a table ordered steaks but both steaks was undercooked nobody came to see if our meals was ok

Went for late lunch deal at 16:30 Ordered 3 courses using the QR code . The starter and main came within acceptable time but we were waiting for our pudding for nearly an hour. Even though I had asked 4 different staff if they could bring our sweet course. The place wasn't too busy so I can only assume the kitchen had forgotten us. Not a good experience 😕

We were looking forward to our meal. When it arrived the sausages were undercooked and very pink inside. Complained and was told they were cooked. I beg to differ. Couldn't fault the girl that served us. We won't be returning

First visit since college days and what a pleasant surprise. Décor : Tasteful and relaxing. Seating and tables, extremely comfortable with variations to suite all. Disabled access : Good. Background music : Pleasant foot tapping music at a level allowing you to talk without shouting. Parking : Large parking area including disabled bays (lunchtime experience) although more disabled bays would be a benefit. Cleanliness : Spotlessly clean throughout. Utensils : Utensils are presented on a server upon ordering food and replaces the commonly used unhygienic table top bucket of utensils/sachets/serviettes". Food : Hot/tasty/filling and satisfying. Severed well within an acceptable time (Lunchtime). One thing that stood out massively was the bread. Quality and not the usual low budget served in other chains. Drinks : Presented in spotlessly clean glasses without rinse aid/lipstick marks. Chilled to perfection and very much enjoyed. Staff talk "proper English" 😊 (example "Would you like to add this to your meal" instead of "Wanna add sum of this wiv it"). A pleasant bonus. Staff were polite/professional/helpful and were smartly dressed. Would I recommend visiting here? Without the slightest doubt. Do we plan to return? Without the slightest doubt. Will I receive any type of reward for this review? Absolutely NOT. Its all about giving credit to those who go the extra mile. And to help other choose a rewarding value for money place to eat. Its as simples as that.

Not very happy.Wont be returning. Had Sunday lunch yesterday place half empty and I'm not surprised. All 4 of us had gammon very fatty Vegetables not very exciting. Staff were good.Very expensive for what we got

Our cancer group had lunch here. Ross, Lucas, and Adam looked after all our needs. Due to our health needs and being unable to go up the stairs to the bar, they took our order at the table and brought everything to us. They kept checking if we needed anything else. They were polite, friendly, and very professional. Look forward to trying more of the menu next time. What I found good at this venue was that the toilets were clean and disabled accessible. The tables allowed wheelchair access. Staff members move other furniture to make more space. On each table was a caddy with sauces and menus. These menus were clean and not sticky. The food arrived hot and well presented, as in the pictures on the menu. Well done to all the team.

We had haddock, the haddock was over cooked, hunters chicken also over cooked and chicken avocado salad with no avocado, so in all we won't be coming back. Been before and have enjoyed our meals, so hence this is why we returned. Maybe there are new chefs and staff.
