Great food and friendly staff! Good arrived quickly and the drinks are a good price! Love the new design since the refurb! Always a great place to go to!

Came here for drinks on my birthday, had a lovely time, had a great selection of drinks, cocktails etc. ordered nachos which were lovely! Lovely staff members behind the bar.

Visited for the rapunzel event with my family I've not eaten here for years as never rated the food just my opinion. The rapunzel event was very poorly organised very bad communication for the families placed on the bottom section. Apart from receiving a colouring sheet and being greeted by the princess we had very little interaction in our area. Staff never gave us info on ordering our own breakfast which was extremely average. Not all children was given the same food option. After leaving disappointed I had another event booked which I attended after speaking with my sister who had been to previous events she had said how amazing they was so was reasured it was a one off. So attended the teddy's bears picnic which was lovely well organised food ordered by adults still average. But children had an amazing time. So I would of attended more events just not chosen to eat here again myself. after expressing my disappointment of the rapunzel event on the facebook page. Wheatsheaf replied with excuses not willing to except constructive criticism altho my positive experience was fine. They Could of reached out on messenger instead deleted my comments. Terrible customer service not the way to deal with complaints would not return now.

Daughters Sunday dinner came out with no gravy at all We asked for gravy and no apology was given We got enough cabbage to feed an army of rabbits Fatty meat No mince sauce available Basic microwave meals £55 down the drain

I had a Mixed grill when I came and it was loverly. My mum had the gobi curry. Everyone’s meals arrive quickly and they were all Perfect. The service at the bar was top notch. I think he was called Lucas. He was friendly and had great advice on what to have. The food was brought out by a young lass called mollie and she was very helpful and got us extra sauces.a would recommend.

6 people went for a meal. Absolutely disgusting. Missing items from our meals. Cold dried out chips and over cooked meat. Never had a nice meal from here. Do not recommend at all. Save your time and money.

Nice environment, live music on Saturdays

On of the best pub experiences in grimsby, near the college, thus a good mix of students and academics, plus of course the requisite building trade stopovers.

I would recommend the Wheatsheaf. Good atmosphere. Reasonably priced food.

The food was amazing but when making changes to the meal due to preference or dietary requirements we were charged extra Also if you struggle with stairs or use a wheelchair do not hope to be served at the lower bar quickly they will walk past (albeit apologising) to do top bar tasks That being said the staff were helpful carrying drinks out when they weren't too busy and everything was reasonably priced

The food made me and my mother ill and am pregnant will not ever be coming back here again disgusting and there is hardly no vegetarian options

Middle of the afternoon was quite which affected the atmosphere. The food was good though.

here today ordered the cheese and bacon burger and like usual it’s exquisitely delicious from dave’s expertise. i had it served with mouth watering bbq sauce. the burger packed crunchy lettuce and perfectly cooked beef 10/10 would come back thanks to the comforting team lead by danielle every experience is the best one

We had a stall at Sheaf Fest. It was a brilliant day, the live music was fab and the event had such a good atmosphere with a fantastic turnout. The event was organised by Beth who did an amazing job, a massive thank you to you ☺️

Had a fantastic day at SheafFest listening to some great music and eating great food! Only thing to improve is service, maybe getting 2 or more bar staff behind bar to minimise queuing for drinks.

One of my favourite places for live acts and there’s been some amazing ones this year. Attended Sheaf Fest last weekend Beth did an amazing job in organising the whole event and was visible all day which was fab to see. It didn’t disappoint! Great acts and local stalls all whilst raising money for charity. Even though it was a busy day staff were efficient, the whole day was just awesome

I went with a friend on the last Saturday night of July and had a great time. We had a cheap & cheerful meal which was also nicely made, and several flavoured ciders. A good night out for about £40 each. Bands on stage in the car park, solo performers in the bar, plenty of seating inside and out, and friendly staff and customers. Customers were aged from early twenties to people in their eighties, plus families with kids. Best night out in ages.

Had an amazing experience at SheafFest here last weekend. Incredible atmosphere, excellent service and lovely staff. Beth in particular was extremely helpful in answering questions, and let me know everything I needed to know far in advance before my set. Very excited for any more music festivals here in the future!

Played with my band Dusty Finger at the Sheaf Fest last Saturday. Was a wonderful family event, everyone was in great spirits, plenty for kids to do and endless live entertainment. Was great to play live on such a great day, and the organiser Beth did a great job as there was a lot going on, but was always on hand to answer any queries leading up to the day. Cant wait to play again next year.

We both enjoyed our meal yesterday at Wheatsheaf, Grimsby. Nice atmosphere great staff, especially Danielle the manager. Highly recommend and we will be back.

If you want a Sunday roast there’s no better place! Food was amazing and the service was second to none. Highly recommend. Will definitely be back!!

Went at 17.00 hrs pub was busy but we had booked a table ordered steaks but both steaks was undercooked nobody came to see if our meals was ok

Went for late lunch deal at 16:30 Ordered 3 courses using the QR code . The starter and main came within acceptable time but we were waiting for our pudding for nearly an hour. Even though I had asked 4 different staff if they could bring our sweet course. The place wasn't too busy so I can only assume the kitchen had forgotten us. Not a good experience 😕

We were looking forward to our meal. When it arrived the sausages were undercooked and very pink inside. Complained and was told they were cooked. I beg to differ. Couldn't fault the girl that served us. We won't be returning

First visit since college days and what a pleasant surprise. Décor : Tasteful and relaxing. Seating and tables, extremely comfortable with variations to suite all. Disabled access : Good. Background music : Pleasant foot tapping music at a level allowing you to talk without shouting. Parking : Large parking area including disabled bays (lunchtime experience) although more disabled bays would be a benefit. Cleanliness : Spotlessly clean throughout. Utensils : Utensils are presented on a server upon ordering food and replaces the commonly used unhygienic table top bucket of utensils/sachets/serviettes". Food : Hot/tasty/filling and satisfying. Severed well within an acceptable time (Lunchtime). One thing that stood out massively was the bread. Quality and not the usual low budget served in other chains. Drinks : Presented in spotlessly clean glasses without rinse aid/lipstick marks. Chilled to perfection and very much enjoyed. Staff talk "proper English" 😊 (example "Would you like to add this to your meal" instead of "Wanna add sum of this wiv it"). A pleasant bonus. Staff were polite/professional/helpful and were smartly dressed. Would I recommend visiting here? Without the slightest doubt. Do we plan to return? Without the slightest doubt. Will I receive any type of reward for this review? Absolutely NOT. Its all about giving credit to those who go the extra mile. And to help other choose a rewarding value for money place to eat. Its as simples as that.

Not very happy.Wont be returning. Had Sunday lunch yesterday place half empty and I'm not surprised. All 4 of us had gammon very fatty Vegetables not very exciting. Staff were good.Very expensive for what we got

Our cancer group had lunch here. Ross, Lucas, and Adam looked after all our needs. Due to our health needs and being unable to go up the stairs to the bar, they took our order at the table and brought everything to us. They kept checking if we needed anything else. They were polite, friendly, and very professional. Look forward to trying more of the menu next time. What I found good at this venue was that the toilets were clean and disabled accessible. The tables allowed wheelchair access. Staff members move other furniture to make more space. On each table was a caddy with sauces and menus. These menus were clean and not sticky. The food arrived hot and well presented, as in the pictures on the menu. Well done to all the team.

We had haddock, the haddock was over cooked, hunters chicken also over cooked and chicken avocado salad with no avocado, so in all we won't be coming back. Been before and have enjoyed our meals, so hence this is why we returned. Maybe there are new chefs and staff.

3 of us had a Sunday roast on Father’s Day. The service was friendly, helpful and pretty quick. The food was excellent, we’ll definitely eat here again.

Regularly come to this place with my family for food and drink. The staff are very patient with us and always have a smile on their face. Natasha stood out to me and my family due to her acts of kindness. A big thank you to the Wheatsheaf team on behalf of me and my family!

Does not get any worse than this, the food and I use the term very lightly is really rubbish. Don’t waste your money, just have a beer and eat somewhere they actually have a chef or even a cook. Had a reply from Danielle on google review, who asked me to call her,,,,, so I did and my call went straight to answer phone and after 6 attempts ,,,, I gave up,,,, what a joke. I did leave a message though, with my name and phone number.

Food was ordered for the both of us and we chose the Steak night offer. We were told there were no Onion fries available which I misunderstood for an alternative to standard fries but, no, this was part of the meal. We weren't offered an alternative or discount I also asked if it was possible to swap garden peas for a small portion of Salad on 1 of the meals. This was done but unbelievably I was charged an extra £1.50 for this; a few lettuce leaves and half a tomato! To top it all, the chips that came with both meals were barely warm but we ate them because we were very hungry although I did state this to the server I was very much underwhelmed and considering the pub has just had a refurbishment, I expected better quality Mr R Emmerson

Good beer selection and a good selection of wines. Food is wholesome but pies have little meat and coleslaw has way too much mayonnaise. Staff are pleasant and helpful but always in a hurry as the place is popular. Music generally too loud and seems to vary according to what the staff like?

Been here five times since refurbishment eaten each time the only decent meal I had was the brunch, Sunday dinner consists of frozen roast potatoes two pieces of carrot rock hard chunks of grey swede.cabbage that was almost raw, and the chicken was like rubber and hard to chew, the gravy was like brown water, the worst sunday lunch that i have ever had . My one year old, Grandaughter couldn't chew it. she pulled a face and refused to eat it .I mentioned it to the staff and they brought her some pasta, I ended up taking her back home and cooking her something . Going to try Millfields instead when I am looking after her.Her parents went in to the Wheatsheath to eat the other day and a lady was actually chocking on the food.So they asked me not to take her in there to eat anymore.

We was the only people in the pub first thing in morning for breakfast , as we waited outside a staff member arrived at work but was unable to say what time it opened ( this was 11.05am) . Me my mum, son & sister had come for brunch. We ordered full English, my sons had beans sausage has brown & toast . Items were missing from 2 of the breakfasts, my son had bacon not sausage as ordered. Thought this was pretty bad seen as it was first order of the day and we had waited over 30mins for it to come to the table. The staff were nice enough and rectified issues however we did have to remind them of the problems.

Room decor was beautiful, Food was amazing and Danni sorted all our questions in timely manner and ensured our needs were met.

Since the refit I have noticed the guest beers haven’t been up to scratch, almost like the lines are not maintained properly. The food we tried was terrible and we sent back (Sunday lunch, barely warm and microwaved veg)

Remains the best Guinness in Grimsby. New menu very good and staff as welcoming as ever! Kids insist we go at least once a week…!

After waiting over an hour staff said our order had been lost. When our meals eventually arrived it was barely edible. We complained and staff just shrugged shoulders. Will not be returning

Had a roast beef Sunday roast that was cold, then a sticky toffee pudding with custard which was also cold, manager couldn't care less. Edit... visted again after the referb and the food is terrible, half roast chicken was fried far to long and was the smallest portion ever, cold custard again!!! Won't go again.

I went with my friend to the wheatsheaf on Monday night, I wasn't impressed. Had a 3 course meal. Think they prepared the main while we still having the soup, it was cold, so they had to cook us another. I had the burger in a bun and chips, the 2nd burger was chewy and rubbery, none of it was very nice, I left most of it, my friends gammon wasn't cooked very well. Then they ran out of ice cream to go with my friends dessert, which was her 2nd choice, as they didn't have the sticky toffee so she asked for cream, which was the squirty cream which disappeared in seconds. Nice ambience but didn't enjoy the food. X

Had a 2 course meal was ok, but the customer service was very good especially a young man called Rhys, we had to move because a party was booked in, he was very helpful and polite and we received a free drink

Didn't go for food just had drinks which are not overpriced, we had gone to see the band Kosher who were playing there great atmosphere think everyone enjoyed the music , hope they get to play there again soon.

I booked a table here in November for my partners birthday. I wanted to say a big thankyou to Grace for her outstanding service,she was very attentive and catered to all needs. She is a real asset to the business. Will definitely be booking again🙂

Due to my many allergies, some of which are not in the list of common allergens, Grace made sure that all the food was safe for me to eat. I enjoyed my dinner, which was hot and arrived on time. I was also provided with single serve condiments to ensure no cross-contamination occurred.

Bar Staff and Waitresses very helpful and friendly but cooked food is absolutely awful. Waited an hour and three quarters for 3 standard menu meals after many reminders that we hadn't been served. Won't be going here again!!!

Great atmosphere and service was amazing despite the pub being extremely busy I was never waiting for a drink, the team are extremely attentive and efficient.
