Browns Bar & Brasserie in Bath and North East Somerset

Sadly this restaurant did not meet expectations. We arrived on a Thursday evening. The restaurant was cold and unfriendly with hardly any people dining. The waitress was rude and behaved as if she wished we hadn't come. Grudgingly the heating was put on but it was still cold and still unfriendly. One of our party complained to the manager and the waitress was taken off our table. Someone who, I think, should never be employed in the hospitality industry. It was a birthday "celebration" for three of the party - sadly it was anything but. The food was ok but nothing special.

Amazing date night spot with my loved one. We really appreciated the attention Oli gave us, he went the extra mile to make our night special. The women who gets to spend the rest of their life with him is extremely lucky. Great atmosphere. Amazing drinks. Welcoming staff.

Horrible overcooked chewy tasteless chicken and very stingy amount of peas and chips and the chips were soggy. And if that wasn't bad enough they totally forgot to include my dessert.

Great location. Attractive atmosphere and the staff were very good, although it was quiet on a Monday lunchtime. Good food, reasonably priced for Bath and the service and speed the food came at was excellent, no delays there.

Drinks were absolutely perfect, the service was top notch will definitely be back again. Didn’t realise they have seasonal cocktails which is always a treat!

Visited with family from Australia and had the best afternoon tea. All the staff were very friendly and provided the best service. We are looking forward to returning.

There were ten of us with 4 young children. Place was two thirds empty and was quite grubby. We were at our table for 6pm and placed our orders for drinks and food. Drinks arrived. At 7pm an hour later the kids starters arrived which were veggie dippers nothing cooked and these weren't right as just red pepper and carrots and no cucumber. Also no sausage and mash kids meals available. An hour to receive this and I even had to go and ask where our meals were. Very disappointing as this was a special birthday treat. When it arrived the rest of the meal was just ok. Over priced and completely underwhelming. My advice to elsewhere.

Me and my partner had a Sunday roast yesterday (veggie and pork belly), both were sooo good and our server Yee Lin was brilliant. She was super attentive and friendly. We’re really looking forward to going back!

We headed here for a birthday bottomless brunch and it was such good value for money . Great welcoming service and they continued to all be very attentive. We all enjoyed our meals very much . Great standard overall .

Another fabulous lunch the food is amazing the dessert to die for the staff are brilliant and very attentive nothing is too much trouble our waitress was Yee Lin she is an asset to Browns.

Excellent service. We were looked after by Yee Lin and she was helpful and got on great with my parents. Food was able to be catered to gluten, dairy and egg intolerance which was brilliant.

It’s a great place but need to take payment for drinks when drinks arrive like many other places .pay for drinks as you go!! Rather than when you are about to leave as I paid the bill then as we were walking towards next venue a waiter came running after us shouting have you paid 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️why have this confusion..By the way it wasn’t just us a group before us had same problem..so please browns pay for drinks after each round ….

We had an excellent lunch at Browns Bath to celebrate my birthday. The experience was heightened by the outstanding service from Yee Lin who is one of the best waitresses in Bath.

Just dropped in for some cocktails with friends. It is not cheap but it is tasty. I recommend the pink squirrel. Not a lot of bar snacks and no crisps so we moved on to another place

Went here for a family meal, the food was quite nice, however, there wasn’t an awful lot of option for people who don’t like the ‘fancier’ meals. We visited Brown’s in Bath during early November 23 for afternoon tea. Wow, what a pleasant experience. Absolutely perfect service and plentiful food. If we are ever in Bath again we would certainly pop into Browns again.

Family Sunday lunch. Very poor service. Food was mediocre. Had the main course, table half cleared and no offer of desert. Toilets not clean. As usual 10% service charge added as they EXPECT it. Only left 5%.

This used to be an old favourite haunt, but it was bitterly disappointing tonight. Hugely overpriced (food and drink), lack of atmosphere, and terribly rushed service. At 20:30, I think we were the only ones left there - whereas the other restaurants I passed on my walk back to the car were busy. I think this speaks volumes. My main course was really horrible. I had the prawn and crab linguine, which was essentially just a small portion of linguine swimming in a pool of oily pesto, with a few tough prawns thrown in and a spoonful of cold crab vaguely dumped on top. Nothing about it was enjoyable. I did enjoy dessert (salted caramel profiteroles), but will certainly not be returning in a hurry, and I wouldn't recommend. .

A wonderful welcome by Alexandra! This brilliant service was continued by her throughout our meal. Ollie checking we were happy with everything- which we certainly were! The Prosecco and food were excellent. Marvellous mushrooms for starters! Yummy shepherds pie for mains.
