Husband heard about this place via Skelton group on Facebook. It's great. Food fresh, reasonably priced and the staff as well as the local community are very friendly. Nothing is too much trouble. Chips fresh, fish large and our dogs love the sausages. Only negative is the parking. I'm just grateful I don't have to live there.

Pescado y patatas fritas no son mi favorito "comida rápida" pero mi opinión ha cambiado drásticamente desde que probé estas. Excelente no es suficiente bueno! Empanada crujiente, maravillosa luz blanca deliciosamente bacalao, patatas fritas espectaculares. Mi única queja, ¿por qué no eglefino?

Vicky and her staff do a fab job here cooking gorgeous fish and chips! Far superior to other chip shops in the area and easily as good as Whitby quality chip shops if not better. Everything is cooked FRESH, nothing is sat waiting around in the glass cabinets here - even the curry sauce is made fresh! The Codfather is massive and great if you have a big appetite, for the price it is it's amazing value. If you want beautiful fresh fish and chips her yourselves here you certainly won't be disappointed :-)

Decided to have a fish &chip dinner today and give this chippy a try. Our order ranged from chips, fish, poached fish, peas, curry and sausage. Whilst all were cooked fresh and where hot, the poached fish was 'zapped' in the microwave, however was apparently very tasty, but my fish was grey (see photos) and watery. The chips, sausage peas etc where just ok, though may return with some improvements.

This PLACE is the best fish and chip shop in the area a little hard to find & irregular opening hours are its down side,, But even if you have to return when it is open it will be worth it for the quality & taste of there food---enjoy

We went to the Saltburn truffled hog for Valentines night. Our first experience with truffled hog (Stokesley) had been a poor one food wise but as this was some years ago and a different venue we thought we’d give it a try. The food standard overall was very high, the only gripe we had was the ‘Black vanilla’ ice cream as part of the pudding sharing platter. Intrigued as to how they’d manage to get it black we soon found out it was just food colouring as our mouths, lips and teeth turned black. Looking around the restaurant you could pick out who plumped for that pudding too. Not what I’d expect of a ‘good’ restaurant. Now to the main reason for a low score…the service. Three staff were on the floor that night. The male server was excellent but unfortunately we saw little of him. The 2 females were pretty shocking though. We waited around 20 minutes to be served after getting our menus, then another 10 for our drinks to arrive (this restaurant has about 10 tables). After our main course arrived, the waitress realised we’d used our cutlery on our starter and said she’d come back with fresh. Off she went, only for us to see her come back out and go to other tables to take payments and orders. After about 5 minutes (you try looking at your rapidly cooling for that long) we had to grab her attention from the other side of the restaurant. Her excuse ‘Sorry, we’re so busy tonight’. Overall attitude was crap, actually looking us up and down and frowning when we said we were ok for drinks. Hopefully they were temporary staff or ones that have climbed the steep learning curve quickly since then. Unfortunately, however good the food is, the service taints the whole experience 🫤
