Just a bacon sandwich and a coffee - but generous portion and delicious and all served with a smile. Very glad I drove by and stopped off 😊. Beats the pants off any generic coffee shop brand place.

Nice food but slightly overpriced for what you get compared to other cafes. There is also no option to pay by card so make sure you have cash and are staff friendly

Superb as always. You cannot beat this cafe. The food is always beautifully, freshly cooked. Of course, we call these places "greasy spoons", here though, the food is nothing but lovely and certainly not greasy. I had my favourite bacon, egg and chips with thick toast. Chips are homemade and freshly cooked and cannot, in my view, be beaten at any other cafe. My wife had sausages and onions in a tiger bread baguette. She said it was superb. Hats off to the ladies who run this place. It's always a friendly welcome and food is top notch. You will not find better.

Came here for first time today and was really impressed by the food! They use local ingredients which you can really taste. Ordered the ultimate breakfast and couldn't finish it was huge ! Best breakfast had in while 😊

Foods good , service is quick and friendly and you can normally find a table. Only down side is that when busy the sound bouces around so its hard to chat .

This is an excellent, traditional & efficient 'greasy spoon' type of cafe that I often visit. The food is fresh & tasty with generous portions at reasonable prices. The staff are friendly, efficient & pleasant. The premises are clean and cheerful. Definitely a good value for money venue. One of the few places that are open at 7:00 a.m. as well.

The food is always very delicious, I'd say quite a bit tastier than an average caffe. Drinks are great too. Highly recommended

Only giving the service two as it was busy with about 15 people ordering different breakfasts. The food though can't fault it and the ladies under pressure still happy enough.

Great service best breakfast around

I've been coming here for years. I used to live in Rayleigh, but now my husband and I drive all the way from Billericay every time we fancy a meal because we have not found a better cafe this side of Essex. Chips are homemade - rare these days. Food always delicious and always superbly cooked. Never once have they mucked up an order. Good value for money. Welcoming to our young children

I came here about 15 years ago and it was one of the worst cafes ever, but I've been a few times more recently and it's now one of the best cafes in the area with good quality ingredients and nice staff. The menu is good too.

Fantastic food and value for money excellent staff, my favourite cafe, steak pie and mash is home made and totally brilliant, big portions of quality food, the pig out breakfast highly recommended along with the hot chocolate

Absolutely amazing Full English breakfast! We visit often. Don't be put off by the building, it's a bit tired looking, however the food more than makes up for it! Reasonably priced, fantastic and friendly staff, definitely one to visit.

Me and my family came across this cafe on our way to Rayleigh and we can’t recommend it enough! Very clean, freshly cooked food, great prices and very welcoming with a good menu variety! I 100% recommend brookside Cafe.

The place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly. They know what there doing and what they are talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is in there priority, food is pretty good, the best cafe in rayleigh. Highly recommended!!

Our breakfast club visits this cafe around every 4 weeks on a Saturday morning. Friendly staff, freshly cooked food may not be of the greatest quality but better than many around and the price is very reasonable.

Popped in here after a shopping trip lasted longer than expected. The place was bright and welcoming, though the parking is a bit out-of-the-way. The staff were welcoming and the menu quite extensive. We chose the All Day Breakfast and a mug of tea, which came with full cream milk - a lovely surprise!! Plates were full and the toast was hot and not soggy. Everything was well cooked. The mushrooms were just delicious and the bacon not too crispy. The sausage was very generous in size and the hash brown was golden and not swimming in fat. We enjoyed the meal and the plates were shiny clean when we finished!! Always a good sign. The prices were very reasonable and this is a location we will be visiting again.

Always stop here when we have time , the food is clean and cooked fresh to order , they even make their own chips which are better than most chip shops .

Mientras que para un coche un domingo por la tarde temprano nuestros estómagos empezó a retumbar. Fue 1.30 pm así que los bares y restaurantes típicos sería en allí ajetreada que 9 veces de 10 significa una larga espera. Fue pura suerte cortante que fuimos pasado este café y notamos la "señal abierta parpadeando en la pantalla. Nos miramos el uno al otro, sonrió y me dijo: " ¿por qué no'. ¡Qué sorpresa tuvimos! Aparcamos el coche, entramos y nos quedamos muy satisfechos de ver el lugar era hermoso y limpio con personal sonriente. El menú era grande y variado desde los desayunos normales para las comidas principales y todo a precios muy razonables. Yo personalmente no podría resistir a la 'Gut Buster desayuno', sí, sé que temprano por la tarde y qué. Finalmente pedimos 2 desayunos y 1 huevos con jamón y patatas fritas después de estudiar el menú durante algún tiempo. Este café tiene que estar en tu lista si estás en la zona. 10 de 10. La comida es buenísima y no en grasa. Las raciones eran más que suficiente, de hecho, 2 platos con comida todavía en ellos. No porque no era un problema, simplemente porque no podían terminar. Muy satisfechos. Precioso de hecho. La camarera y el chef, ambos también muy amable. ¿Qué más se puede pedir. La comida era muy buena y feliz personal en un entorno limpio.¿Regresaría. Ahora déjame pensar. Sí, sin duda.Muchas gracias.
