Had the Shepherds pie with a pint of Guinness. Classic pie recipe of ground beef, carrots, onions etc. A bit of red wine in the gravy makes this one stand out in a sea of shepherds pies. It’s London, tons of shepherds pie to be had. A full bar and tons of wine. The bar tender knows his wine. His recommendation for my mate was excellent.

Been passing Brokers for many years and didn't know it was there. We visited on a last night because we heard the music in the market. It is a narrow, very long bar with a diverse mix of ages and types of people, there are those you would expect to see, city workers just come out of the office, some tourists and even a couple of hipsters. Everything is as you would expect from a City of London Wine bar except the atmosphere. There is a guitarist with a list of songs that you can make requests from, people dancing and singing. When we first walked in we thought we were crashing a private party as many of the customers greeted us. Wine is good and prices OK. Highly reccomended!

Attended a corporate function here which had been pre booked with limited menu choices to make it easier for the venue. Sat down for lunch before 1pm and was served main course at just before 3pm. others had to wait longer. there were 48 for lunch and the owner served everyone himself - no other staff. we had to get up and help to speed things up! Food was OK and the normal menu was not available so cannot comment.

Oh dear oh dear. What has happened to this place? Hilarious lunch which, luckily, my guests saw the funny side of too. Almost completely empty at lunchtime. Below average food, warm coke, pedestrian service (although perfectly friendly). Best give it a miss in future. A real shame.

As a wine bar, I would have expected a decent house Malbec and Rioja, not so. Food maybe ok but it is rare we leave wine. Just came from a daveys pub down the road which was excellent. Sorry just saying how we see it.

Located in the Leadenhall Market, it's a charming place with a very kind waiter. Food is British and straight to the point (your order a sausage baguette, you have a sausage + a baguette).

Got to say a massive thank you to this bar. I have been using it for many years when in London and have put on several events. The Staff and facilities are great but the welcome you are given is incredible. I have use the venue to launch my DVD and also for filming but last Thursday the 9th February I held an investment launch and it was a great success. I have also eaten here several times and they have a varied selection along with a great wine list I recommend this place 100%

We stopped here for a late lunch after 15:00. Barman was very helpful and pleasant and whilst he had to check if the kitchen was still serving, we were able to order food. I had a bitburger beer and wife a small wine, both £4.95. We ordered food, wife a scampi @ £14.75 and I had Chilli at the same price. Scampi was fine and the chilli did have a kick to it. Food was piping hot, well prepared, presented and was good. It is a funny little establishment when compared with the larger bars on the ground floor, but it is in the historic Leadenhall Market, great service, recommended.

I love this place, Tone the barman is friendliest I've ever met. He always accommodates our needs. We can play all the music we want and all the usual clientele are happy and loving it.

I went for one drink and stayed for the whole evening. The bar has a lovely view over Leadenhall Market and Anthony (the manager) is super friendly. I would definitely recommend this wine bar.

When you go up the stairs at the Leadenhal Market entrance of the Broker's, you don't know what you'll find upstairs. But the surprise is nice. It is a cozy place, with a nice view of the Market and good food.Very old, and you feel like going back in time. the service is not super fast if you are in a hurry to go back to work, but it is OK if you are experiencing a typical London bar/restaurant and enjoying the view.

went for lunch just before Christmas. Whilst all other places in Leadenhall market were full this one was empty: I definitely missed the message.Anyhow, we order a Chablis wine only to be told 5-10 minutes later that it was not available. The waiter offered us a "reserve" of the same wine but the manager (I think he was) stepped in contradicting the waiter and suggesting a complete different one, leaving us confused and with the impression he wanted to push the sales of the second one (Macon Village) rather than satisfying the customer. We asked for some nibbles while waiting for food to accompany the wine but they came with the main course (hamburger) some 45 minutes later, after a gentle complaint and despite being the only customers in the restaurant. Food was average at the best. I will definitely stay away from the place

Fantastic bar hidden away above Leadenhall market. Great atmosphere and away from the crush you get in the market itself. Staff are friendly and attentive, Anthony made sure our glasses were never empty. They only serve food at lunchtimes which I have had before and is of a really good quality. All in all a great find which we will use regularly.

We found this place accidentally walking back from dinner and popped up for a drink. They didn't have what we wanted so upgraded our drinks for the same cost, the staff were friendly, people tipsy and dancing about to the duke box, lovely atmosphere and have made it my mission to come here lots more. Thank you

Went there only as a last resort, and we should have realised why it wasn't fully booked when everything else in Leadenhall Market was. Not sure if the gentleman (not sure that is true) running the bar is the owner or manager, but he was rude and dismissive and clearly not interested in other customers other than the regulars. Very average food, and when we dared mention that the wine was corked (which all 4 of us agreed it was), we were giving a lecture by the clown in the suit, fine if we were in our teens but we are all in our 40's! You have been warned and there are plenty of better venues in Leadenhall Market, a waste of money even if you are on expenses!

This first and second floor bar and restaurant is accessed via steep stairs from Whittington Avenue. A great array of pictures adorn the stair walls and the walls of the first floor bar and restaurant. Draws a loyal clientele. Lunchtimes a full menu that changes on a regular basis is offered. Evenings more a wine bar but with food also available, though a less extensive menu than lunch time. Juke box adds a fun vibe particuarly in the evenings.Staff are super friendly and it is a good place to people watch in the market from the window seats. Good to see an independent business in the market rather than the usual chain pubs bars and restaurants. As with many places in the market only open week days.

More refined than the scrum around the Lamb or New Moon and almost as many stairs as the Swan. Looks like its been painted. Good selection of wines and not overpriced.

Located just off Oxford Street and nicely nestled between three underground stations; Goodge Street, Tottenham Court Road or Oxford Circus this newly opened pub ended up being a nice surprise lunch location for me and my partner. A pub that has been established since the 1700's the location certainly gives off a historical feel as you walk the side alley's you almost feel as if Jack The Ripper could pop out at you from the side entrance of the pub. instead though, and thankfully enough, the only thing we were greeted with was a tendful barman ready to pull a perfect pint of Murphy's stout. It was my first time trying the stout and although he'd tell you it doesn't beat a good Guinness (having grown up 10 minutes from the brewery, he tells us) he none the less indulges you in light hearted conversation as he lets the pint sit 3 quarters full letting the stout settle before finishing the pour. The art of serving a good stout, he tells me, is looking after the barrel lines and pouring it just right. We sat in a cosy corner by the window and the quaint ground floor bar off the main streets just enough to drown out most of the hustle and bustle of the busy west end but not so much that the atmosphere felt dead. Jazzy music plays and we enjoy our drink before we head to our 12:30 reservation for lunch. As we get ready to head up stairs to their "Pie Room" dining area we are greeted by Olivier who takes our drinks for us and leads us to the far left corner of the dining area to a table next to an open window. The sunshine and breeze was a welcome part of our lunch as it was a warm day in London. The menu is generous with starters like Crispy Lamb Belly Scrumpets and a Half Pint of Prawns. As we ordered, Olivier was happy to engage us in conversations and menu recommendations. We opted for the Chicken Liver Pate with caramelised onions and rye bread. The latter really complimenting the pate, it was just right to set us up for the main course. I ordered the Aged Beef Shin and Rib pie, which came with creamy mash and I ordered their Maple Roasted Root Vegetables on the side. My partner opted for the Braised Leg Shepherd's Pie with a Pea Salad. The flavours of both pies could be described as bold and packed with flavour. Both arrived piping hot, which is a relief as most pubs serve food that is on the way to being cold! You wont be disappointed in the roasted veg either. The shepherds pie was a tad on the salty side but the sweetness of the roasted veg helped lessen the edge of the dish and it was not like most shepherds pies in a sense that instead of the meat in a minced form it was more of a pulled texture and it made all the difference. The mashed potato on top was generous and added to the heartiness of the meal itself, so much so in that we skipped dessert even though the Newman Arms Chocolate Cake sounded tempting, we will be back for that next time! After our meal we went to check out their underground floor which offered board games and comfy sofa's to relax in where we had one last drink before heading back out on to Rathbone Street and off home. Just in time too as more people were arriving for a boozy lunch and tourists ready for The Newman Arms "Pie & Pint" offerings. All in all, I'd say this little gem of a pub is in a great location and has kept its 1700's charm while the menu and drinks on offer really bought it back up in to today's modern standards of great food and service. 5/5 on both fronts! We can't wait to go back to try more of what's on offer, like a Black Velvet pint served in a classic silver tankard!

Great service Food was excellent Primitivo was delicious if rather expensive We were very well looked after and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience apart from a fellow guest who resorted to a barrage of F. words at the end of the meal but our lovely waiter moved us to a quieter corner for our coffee
