Broken Clock Cafe & Patisserie in Glasgow City

By far the best cakes / patisseries that I have had! I had been meaning to go here for ages after asking a friend's wife (who is french) where they would recommend for really decent, authentic, french style cakes, as I'd always wanted to get a mirror glazed one. Based on nothing more than the aesthetics of them. I was recommended here and can now say it was absolutely the best. We had some coffee (which was just the best also, no franchise nonsense here) and a Paris Brest each (one fruit and one pistachio). Heaven! I keep saying so but this was absolutely the best cake I've ever had from a store and finally glad I've visited. The cakes are just every bit as good as the pictures previous reviewers have posted and probably better when seen in "real life". You will not be disappointed with a visit here. *Most cakes and rolls appeared to be about £6 and coffee around £3 each.

Cakes and Patisserie are amazing. You need to try here if you haven't already. I've tried all the fancy patisserie shops in the West End of Glasgow and this is the best one by miles. The cakes look like they do in Paris and they taste amazing too. The attention to detail, consistency and absolute preciseness. Yep, this is the best place.

My mum LOVES French patisserie so I stumbled upon this place online when trying to find cakes to celebrate her birthday during lockdown last year. They absolutely delivered in every way, my Mum couldn’t have been more thrilled and it helped make her lockdown birthday very special! I then asked for Broken Clock cakes for my own birthday, and again they were just exquisite! I have recommended this place to so many friends in the past year and every single person that’s ordered from Broken Clock or visited in person has loved it. I finally had a chance to visit the actual cafe this week and the cake display is just incredible and the cakes we had were delicious as usual. I really love this place, if you like French patisserie or just enjoy trying more unusual and delicious desserts, then you’ll love it!

Disorganised and disappointing second visit. No allergy information was available, when I asked what was gluten free the guy couldn’t tell me despite one meringue dessert thing which I’d had previously being marked gf on the label. It was very tasty but would have been good to have the option to try something else. The single gf thing was also stored right next to other cakes which contained gluten. The only soft drinks available were a singular can of san pelligrino. It seemed that for whatever I wanted there was no choice available despite plentiful options of hot drinks and non gf cakes/pastries. Staff were very busy however the issues could have been communicated more professionally.

I came here with high expectations after seeing all the amazing reviews. In total we order 2 Chocolate & Hazelnut Sponges, a Strawberry tart and coffees. I got the sponge and a latte. The cream/icing topping was far too sweet. So sweet it felt like fire and burning my mouth, while the sponge was dry and flaky. Can't fault the staff or coffee though, and the cafe has a welcoming & lively atmosphere .

Popped in with family for a cake. First time visit. Had to wait a few minutes for a table which was absolutely fine. The cakes were worth waiting for. What a lovely wee place! Very friendly staff, great selection of teas and the cakes are fabulous. Too die for really. The vegan chocolate orange dome was like a massive gooey Jaffa cake, and the meringue hazelnut raspberry layer amazing. Others we tried, the paris-brest, the date dome, the passion fruit crunch. All stunning. All delicious. Looked beautiful. Painstakingly created. We demolished them unashamedly. Would go back any time.

Vibrant and popular patisserie in Kelvinbridge. Friendly and welcoming staff, quite a selection of treats on offer. I’ll certainly return.

Amazing selection of cakes and patisserie which are to be frank, right up there with the very best in the world. I’ve had patisserie in Paris and Vienna and the quality of baking is right up there. Well done team.
