Was very busy on Friday night, with queue out the door! Didn't have to wait too long despite this. The portion sizes were good and chips were delicious. The batter was slightly on the soggy side and the fish itself ever so slightly chewy but I enjoyed the meal nevertheless. Battered sausage was fab.

Only accepted cash so walked out!

Hard to find a 5* chippy. . This is one of them. No sides that's been sat for hours over cooking. Real top chippy

Foods nice. Staff are rude and treated a customer with learning difficulties like a joke. Feels like as a customer you're an imposition on them. Don't worry, I wouldn't want to be an imposition so I won't come back. Been there twice now. Wife went after running an errand in the local area. My wife was asking questions about there snack boxes, the older woman serving had a face of thunder and and an attitude in her reply. Just a real unpleasant woman (who I got to meet tonight) I went there tonight as our regular chippy was closed. I asked a question about the size of the cod bites, was given a rude reply. Placed my order, while I was waiting the staff started whispering, LAUGHING and joking amongst themselves about a customer with learning difficulties. If I could hear them, he may well of done. When I went to collect my order, I asked for the fish to be wrapped with the chips, the woman said with a real attitude "I've already wrapped them" as if opening the chips and putting fish in there was an arduous task. She started wrapping the second order of chips without putting salt and vinegar on them. I told her I wanted salt and vinegar she said she didn't realise that I wanted it (she could of asked) I asked if the other chips had salt and vinegar on, she assured me it did. Got home, no salt and vinegar (to noones surprise) Won't be back.

Really gone down hill after becoming”Let’s Fry” Rude lady on till who I’ve never seen before assume new owners, she got my order incorrect and argued that I was wrong with what I ordered! Orders missing salad when requested aswell. shocking experience

Staff are very friendly and portion sizes are generous. I was very disappointed with the haddock though; the batter was soggy and the fish itself was dry and cardboardy only ate 2 mouthfuls of it. My feeling is that it had been cooked and was then reheated when the haddock was requested, not the freshly cooked piece of fish with golden crispy batter and nice fish that I was looking forward to. On another note the haddock is £8.50 not £5.50 as advertised on the price list/menu board. When I questioned this the manageress was very dismissive about it So turned out to be an expensive portion of fish. I did go there a few week previously and it was a different team of staff, you placed your order and you were given a number and waited while everything appeared cooked to order. Maybe potluck as to which team and cook you get

Decent piece of fish, the batter was lovely, not too much, nor too greasy. Nice amount of chips for a large size. 3 happy people!

Came in yesterday, staff member with blonde hair made my takeaway experience very enjoyable. Will 100% be coming back again in the future

Small portion of chips is £2.50 and too big for one person. They should do a smaller portion at £1.50

Didn't have haddock which I usually prefer. However the cod was very nice. It was supposedly small cod but more than adequate portion. The chips were ok but not great.Think they were re done from lunchtime as went early evening. Again generous amount.Very reasonable price wise.

Been using Brockworth Fryer for 22 years, it seems new owners are greedy, extortionately expensive, £5 for a large chips and £2.50 for a sausage, £32 for food for 6 people, won't be going back at those prices. Food was ok

Pricey and food was so overcooked

We arrived 20min before closing time, so we didn't have many options. The staff were very pleasant and the sausages and chips were quite nice. The place itself was very clean. Hopefully next time we arrive sooner and can try their fried fish.

Closes at 9pm, which means staff leave (I suppose only get paid till) 9 so if you are unfortunate enough to arrive in the previous half hour you will find all the fryers turned off, so what chips that are left have been wrapped up and kept just warm, there is no possibility of getting a piece of fish fried so to accompany the lukewarm chips your only choices are whatever leftovers, the odd fishcake, sausage or pie, there may be. Less choice than rummaging through a restaurant waste bin. More hygienic, maybe, but more expensive.

I have been using this Chippie off and on for over 40 years. Although ownership may have passed hands a few times, the Standard of Food and Service has never dropped - not many businesses could say that!!

My favourite chip shop in Gloucester, friendly staff, fair prices, good food, quick service. Worth the 5 stars, must try their pickled vinegar, I all ways get the fish bites.

Nicest chips around. Nicer than a Ruddys up the road, which always has a queue outside.

Normally nice but not today. Went in at 1700. Chips soggy brown and stone cold. Obviously lunchtimes. Recently increased prices also, understandable, but if you are increasing prices you need to focus especially hard on quality.

Really good chips and cod bites were to die for! Fish tasted very fresh, customer service was excellent and the place looked sparkling clean. Will definitely be back.

Always a great experience here, food is hot and fresh. Never had a bad meal. Portion sizes are generally a little larger than average for the area, but quality is definitely above average!

Although the portions were a good size, chips were soggy as was the batter on my fish and the mushy peas tasted “strange “ so were left, delivered about 35 minutes after having left the chippy and were warm on plating up! quite disappointed really so won’t be treating us to another one.

Amazing customer service, the food is always fresh and 1st class. Looking at the last review on here which was negitive... They ran out of food and you expect them to not deep clean and turn every thing on just for you and your wife.. Maybe this person should invest in a business and see how they like pathetic reviews. 1st class Brockworth fryer 🎉🎉🎉

Visited one lunchtime on a whim. Ordered Fish, chips and curry sauce special. Food was fresh, piping hot and tasty. The staff were friendly and prices decent. I'll definitely visit again and try some other delights.

Best fish and chips we've had in Gloucester! Arrived 15 minutes after the order was placed, 35 minutes earlier than predicted. Steaming hot, super fresh and delicious 😋 Can't recommend enough. Converted us from our local in the other direction!

Loads of chips and the fish was delicious

Chip portions are massive, battered sausages were okay. Chip butty buns are hard sesame buns, better off buying from McColls or CO OP. Overall alright for money but nothing special. Service from staff okay

Every Friday we have fish an chips,this is the only place I will ever go to great staff and excellent food.

The fish and chips are one of the best in the county and there was 3 people 2 serving and a gentleman cooking

Queued for 15 mins because their chips weren’t cooked which was understandable. But after 15 mins of waiting I was told they had no kebab meat ready to serve despite having kebab meat rotating on the machine? then to top it all off despite numerous people waiting to be served there was only one women serving food. A little tip to the owners dip your hands in your pockets & employ some staff rather than having customers queueing for ages and what appears only cooking food to obvious demand of people waiting. Will I use them again? No not unless they employ some staff & have food ready for when customers want it not putting profit first😡

We bought 19 portions of fish and chips /cod bites and chips for our Scout group who were camping at Cranham on Fri 28th July. We had a pretty much unanimous verdict of excellent from both the scouts and adult leaders. Thanks.

New management great place for a takeaway now

Taken over by new management after previous owners failed to improve on a zero hygiene rating. Raised the prices of the chips that taste even more vile and disgusting than ever before.

Well since the abottswood chippy came they haven't just been doing it since they've been doing it all the time their the best and they always will be Xxxx
