Brobbins Crispy Cod in Oldham

My local go to fish and chip shop. Food always fresh and portions great. Bought a meal deal for two tonight, well worth it. See you next week.

The place is never ever open anymore even tho it says it is on google, great place but never open when they say they are it’s a waste of a trip

It is clearly the best chippy around failsworth food nice service good but it's let down by it's never open even when Google says it's open until 2pm but I've been a few times around quarter to two and it's not been open which is a let down

Got food from here on the uber app for a change it was a disaster, not by uber eats they were spot on with their side of the deal but the food well thats another story the fish was swimming in grease (not well drained as asked for) with no salt on at all, then there were the chips which were actually only luke warm and tasteless (also with no salt and vinegar on) the peas and curry sauce that were ordered were actually the only tasty part of this meal (hurrah) but I couldn't even put them on my muffin because they completely forgot to supply that ! The standards at this fish and chip shop have been dropping rapidly for a long time now and have now finally reached rock bottom. I will not be going back here again and I certainly will not be recommending it to anyone. Unlike the village chippy in Failsworth who actually care about the way that they present their food and charge fair prices...

Quality chippy discovered recently. Beautifully fried fish and tasty chips served with lovely gravy or curry. Never bother with pies so unsure but they all taste similar don't they holland pies? Highly recommended.

Dont be fooled by its looks, one of the best chippys around.

I am very happy to say this is my local fish and chip shop, the food is delicious and I have even recommended it to my mum and brother who regularly use ubereats to get it delivered to them.

I ordered from here through Uber eats. When it arrived I noticed there was a pie missing😩 oh no! I called brobbins straight away and explained what had happened. I spoke to a well mannered man maybe the owner? He apologised and said he’d get the pie to Me ASAP. 15 minutes later he was at my door with pie! Plus complementary drinks and chips and to boot a bottle of chip shop vinegar! Amazing customer service and to Top it all the food was amazing😍. Thank you so much. We will be back !

I order a large chips and gravely and when I returned home I opened it up I found two hairs. One implanted in a small chip. Other was on the Trey. I will never go back. Man is very rude as well. Don't go!

Best chippy I've ever used ! Everything is cooked fresh and good sized portions . They also have a healthy menu too for when I'm trying to be good , which I've always enjoyed as it makes me feel I'm still having a treat . As a plus I'm a key worker in the community & regularly take one of our elderly clients to the chippy where she always enjoys sitting in/ outside in the eating space provided . The owners are always very polite & friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend !

Love this place. Nice staff and lovely food. Its about 7 miles away from where I live but its worth the round trip, and the food is always hot when i get home.

Stopped for lunch and food was good. Cod cooked well with tasty batter and chips nice and crispy.

Best in oldham. Make an afternoon of it and go around the antique stores while there.

Friendly staff. A terrace for eating outside. Tea and coffee available and excellent fish. Plus the usual pies and kids meals

I've been going here for the last few years. Absolutely love this Chippy It's definitely the best English Chippy in the area. Lightly battered fish, chips & mushy peas my all time favourite at decent prices I would recommend a visit it is close to failsworth pole just past the pack horse pub on wrigley head 🍽🍽🍽🍽

Back in the summer we were forced to take a detour and as a result we stumbled on Brobbins after seeing a footpath sign on the main Oldham Road, as we were peckish we thought we’d give it a try. You’ll need to be vigilant when looking for Brobbins as it is one of those places that can be easily missed as its tucked away in a side street surrounded by an ad hoc mix of housing and industrial units – just look out for the ‘antique’ outlets and you’ll find it The first thing you’ll notice is that Brobbins makes a point of telling you that it serves English fish and chips so forget any notion you might have about getting a kebab or pizza etc. You’ll also notice that the place is spotlessly clean and they clearly take a pride in what they do. As for the fish and chips they are what you would expect them to be, namely traditional English fish and chips and as such they are more than acceptable. However, for me I would preferred a few more chips and a bigger fish - the one I was served resembled more of a sardine than a cod when it came to size!
