Had fish n chips at 4.30 Last night, fish was awful, it must have been re fried from lunch time was dry well over cooked and batter was hard not crispy at all, the worst fish I've ever had

The best fish and chips we have had in a very long time. When they said large cod they definitely meant it. Large cod and chips for under £12. Cooked to order and light and crispy batter. Definitely recommend

We visited this shop twice during our holiday in the area and we loved the food! There was a queue out the door both times because it’s obviously such a popular place but well worth the wait and good prices 😊

Very popular chip shop (always a good sign). There was a short queue but, went quite quickly and gave us enough time to make our minds up. Fish and chips for me which was lovely. Sausage and chips twice for the fam. Great portions and a good price. Can't fault it!

Been here for years !!! Last time we came they were cold and horrible and returned, tonight worst fish and chips ever, soggy fish and tastless chips , even the curry was like jelly , won't be back sorry

We visited as a family member had recommended Broadlands. The food was ok. My husbands fish was soggy and the chips were just ok. Definitely had better tasting and better value for money elsewhere.

This is my local chippy and normally 5 star but yesterday although the fish was excellent the chips were terrible, the worst ever.

After a recommendation from someone at work we had fish and chips on our last night in Stalham after a trip on the Broads and were not disappointed. Great value for money-tasty-warm welcome.

Wanted a kebab and they had no Doner meat left. Wasted 10mins of my life waiting to order. Will use the Just Eat app from now on.

Give it a miss…. We arrived not long after opening and already busy which was a good sign and in line with the reviews. Fair old wait and one piece of cod excellent but the other mainly tail so very hit and miss. Chips tasted stale and worst we’d all had by far. Only chippy ever known where no salt and vinegar offered, only option was 80p for salt and £1.50 for a bottle of vinegar according to menu! Undoubtedly would have tasted better with salt and vinegar but far from great.

Spur of the moment choice was not disappointed excellent service spotlessly clean shop. Friendly staff with fish and chips to die for will be returning sometime soon.

Given two stars because the last two times were fine. This time the Chips were cold within minutes of openingand dry. The fish was tough,and I don't believe it's cod,as cod is flaky. Probably leftovers from the afternoon. A local behind me had already ordered but I was told when I first rang up. No just come no pre order. Jackie was her name that pre ordered. One rule for some a different rule for others,here in Norfolk.

Fantastic fish and chips, well priced, freshly made. Lovely chunky piece of cod, friendly staff. Beware the queue was out the door on a Thursday evening, but worth the short wait. Would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Just down the road from where we were staying on holiday. Decided one night Togo there to get some Fish and chips. Very generous amounts and possibly the best fish and chip and battered sausages we have had. Would certainly recommend this place.

Only open Wednesday to Saturday, very long slow queue (could definitely be speeded-up) , after a long wait to order, I had to wait a further 20 minutes for my order to be cooked and packed. Fish excellent, chips not bad, sauce pots were tiny and totally over priced at £1.50 per minuscule pot - had I known how small they were I would not have ordered! Spent £21 on 2 regular haddock, large chips and 2 pots of sauce. The large chips were a good size for 2 hungry people. The food was a little greasy, but not surprising considering it comes out of the fryer and is wrapped Immediately. 8/10 as fish was excellent, I would order again from here but not the sauces

Went to Broadlands in the evening for the traditional fish and chips and they were very good- cooked fresh and very tasty. Staff friendly and organised. Well worth a visit.

My son who went in to order our tea, he struggles with communication due to having Autism and ADHD. He was laughed at and spoken to really rudely. He came home really upset and has knocked his confidence. We are local and go regularly but...

Really impressed. Good portion of chips and big piece of cod, nice and thick and lovely light crisp batter. Freshly cooked but well worth waiting a few minutes. Eaten across the A149 by the broads- perfect!

The haddock we ordered was cooked freshly while we waited. Chip protion was enormous. Really good fresh fish, in crunchy golden batter, dripping with fat - just as it should be ;-)

Great fish and chips very covid aware, only problem being local to the area and in a tourist area is during the school holidays there is a 1 hour queue, but It’s worth waiting for

Tried to pre-order but the calls went unanswered, so my wife and I decided to drive to Stalham. Parked opposite in the car park to find a queue which put us off, testament to the popularity I suppose. Maybe another time.... shame

Always visit when in Norfolk. Food always super fresh. Staff handle their covid procedures/precautions extremely well

Visited whilst on holiday. Very average fish and chips. Fish over cooked and chips bit great either. Was surprised at how poor it was given location next to coast.

Just picked up some fried chicken it was 10 minutes before they closed so a bit dubious about how long it was sitting there. I needn’t have worried it was first rate, and the free sample of there spicy wings were fantastic (thank you)

We go to the chicken place every Saturday the food is great always hot and the staff are very helpful and great they alway make us laugh Keep up the good work

Placed an order for 85 portions of chips as an end of term treat at the school I work at. Collection was arranged for after the shop had closed, it was smooth, the chips were freshly cooked and piping hot, condiments were in individual bags, customer service was second to none and the chips were amazing. The students and staff loved them, well done Broadland, we will use you again

Lovely big servings of fish, same with chips. Busy but get served quickly as they are drying up all the time. We go there every week. Covid regulations adhered to.

It was a lonv wait due to covid 29 queing and the fact the the fish is freshly cooked. I sas asked if i had pre odered haddock but there was no indication as to how to do this so we waited a little lomger tham some others but the fish was really good. The chips were a tiny bit overdone but overall and excellent chippy.

We come from Caister to stalham every week to get our wonderful fish and chips,we sit in the car and eat them even in the winter.Worth the travelling because always first class

Great fish and chips here. There is a bit of a wait as the fish is freshly fried to order. However the fish is flaky fresh and the batter is crispy and light. Well worth the wait. The gentleman overseeing the queue outside makes sure everyone is being served as quickly as possible.

Regularly buy fish & chips from here. I can eat all the batter off the fish as it's lovely and crispy and not oily.

The food here is delicious. Well priced and great portion sizes. I had the haddock and it tasted fresh and the batter was lovely and crispy. Great tasting chips too. Fantastic covid precautions in place too. One of the best meals of our holiday

Queuing was very well organised and the quality was excellent. Portions were huge and almost defeated us.

We stay in Norfolk at least once a year, and always get our fish and chips takeaway from here. Usually it's very good, which is why we keep coming back, but yesterday evening we were very disappointed. The fish was dry, the batter really soggy and the chips disappointing also. We ended up throwing most of the chips in the bin and giving some of the fish to our dogs. I am guessing we visited at a quiet time and the fish/chips were not freshly cooked as was our past experience. Sadly we will not be going back in the future.

We had Kebab and fish and chips, Not short on the portions, hot tasty food,friendly staff.Kebab was stacked full of meat with fresh salad,great value compared to the local kebab shop.

For many years now whenever nearby to Stalham I must divert off the A143 just into Stalham and visit Broadland fish and chips they are quite the best in the area and you can then take them down to the Stalham Sthaie and eat them whilst watching the boats go by.

Popped in to the Tender Fried Chicken as we wanted just a quick and easy take away and the queue for the chip shop was to long for us to wait, although we know the fish and chips are excellent. The greeting was warm and friendly and nothing was to much trouble. We both had a Chicken sandwich which had a large piece of tender chicken with plenty of lettuce and just the right amount of mayo. We asked for fried onion and this was no issue and was freshly fried and added. Excellent fast food and fantastic service what more can you ask for?

What can I say other than this place does good chips, good fish and soft drinks. Chips are placed in paper as is the fish. The whole lot is wrapped in paper and you take it away and eat it. Drinks come in cans, bottles or those little paper cartons.

Stayed close by for weekend before collecting our boat.. Had a fish night. Haddock lovely and fresh made to order, wife had cod which she said was great. Highly recommended it.

Been searching for quality fish and chips in Norfolk and finally found some. Great tasting, really good portions served by very friendly staff. Will be back

The start of our boating holidays was us really looking forward to fish and chips from Broadlands. The previous year the fish was that big it hung over the tray, big pure white flakes of fresh cod and good quality chips. They were a lovely friendly mature couple running it then. This year different staff and food the fish although at first glance looked great it turned out to be a very thin odd coloured fillet covered in a great deal of batter and mediocre chips. Giving businesses poor reviews gives me no pleasure at all I don’t know the reasons for the poor food and service but unless they improve we will not be going back again.

Finishing our boating holiday, moored up at Stalham, and visited this Fish and Chip shop for our last supper before going home. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the portions were amazingly large, though not ordered large, and the food was hot and tasty. Awesome ! Our family had a mix of fish and pies and sausages etc. The fish was absolutely wonderful (and large !). Lovely. Great value.

Worst fish & chips I've ever eaten in nearly 40 years.

There is normally a queue here as your fish is normally cooked to order. I don’t mind this at all when it is so good. The batter is as good as the fish.

Waited for 2 large tails of cod to be fried, I don't mind the wait if the food is edible, but this was not! The fish was tasteless and so dry, and the batter was too thick and greasy, and was not cooked properly inside. The chips were awful, so dry. This was a huge disappointment as we had travelled from Norwich to go to this fish shop especially - we will not go there again. I ate none of my fish and one or two chips, and came home feeling very hungry! This was not a cheap tea, and was more expensive than our usual chip shop, and was a complete waste of money, as neither of us could eat the Cod! Our dog ate the fish, and my husband felt very sick after eating a few chips! Complete waste of money for inedible food!

Day out for family of 4 from Cambridge. Nearly worth the 1 1/2 hr drive just for the fish and chips. Freshly cooked, tasty and a good portion. You do have to wait, but our experience was worth it.

Fish was overcooked, dry and far too much batter. The chips were dry and pretty tasteless. The wait was half an hour as they were very busy, but I have now absorbed the smell of batter and oil into my clothes and hair, which is quite unpleasant. Wouldn't go back.

Freshly cooked to order this huge fish portion was the way I remember cod used to be - fresh and with big white tasty flakes. Wish we lived nearer!

This is a really great fish and chip shop. It’s reasonably priced and has the best batter for miles around. The fish always stays crispy when wrapped up and taken home which unfortunately is uncommon for many fish and chip shops these days.

Broadland Fish and Chips is our go-to favourite place for fish and chips in the area. Always generous delicious portions and such good value and piping hot. Swift service despite being packed to the door!

Our first night near Stalham, plus it was Friday, so it had to be fish and chips. I had already done some research on the area so knew there was a Fish and Chip shop on the High Street.

Whilst holidaying in Hickling we travelled to Stalham for a fish and chip supper on a friday night. Very, very busy but staff worked very quickly and efficiently. The fish and chips were delicious with very generous portions. Would revisit.

Prior to our boating holiday we called in for fish and chips both the haddock and cod was delicious. Thought they’d given me a special by mistake as the it overhung the tray both ends. Excellent friendly service noticed with nothing being to much trouble especially for the elderly clientele. Will definitely call again highly recommend.

Had family down for the weekend, as Kingfisher fish and chips were closed for a holiday we decided to go to the above shop. The fishcake was soggy, the chips were dry and tasted very fatty and as for the mushy peas these were nothing more than processed peas in green slop. Will not go there again.

Friday at 6pm and the queue was about 12 people happily waiting for excellent fish and chips. I expected a long wait but the efficient staff quickly served everyone.

We have regularly bought haddock and cod and chips from this establishment and frankly it is the best we have ever had. Enough said, how do you better perfection?

Lovely traditional chippy, all food is as you would expect, always fresh tasting and piping hot, large cod has to be folded in half to fit in your plate!!! You need two other plates for large chips!!! Definitely worth a visit if your hungry!!

Our taxi driver recommended this place and we were so pleased he did. The fish was so thick and white and the chips perfect. There is parking just outside the shop. It was also excellent value. When we are around the Norfolk broads again we will certainly go back.

9 times out of 10 a good fish and chip meal. The Haddock is always my favourite, freshly cooked, great batter and good chips. Good value for money as well.

Takeaway fish n Chips is always risky on a Friday but I got lucky and the queue wasn’t too long. Plaice cooked to order, and well cooked, chips good too.

This is my local Fish & Chip shop, but I used to live elsewhere in the U.K and we were not lucky enough to have a place as good as this on our doorstep. Fabulous fish & chips, friendly welcome and good prices. You may need to queue, but it will be worth the wait.

After reading other reviews I was very pleased with the food received, yes it took a while but the place was very busy so not an issue. Looking at the menu everything is cooked fresh so waiting anytime would be the same.

Being from the North of England where fish n chips is a near staple diet and very very good I have to admit that they do a pretty good job. You'll queue but it'll be worth it!

There's not much you can say about fish and chips that hasn't already been said. Traditional convenience food at reasonable prices, and their chicken wasn't half bad.
