Great venue! Played many gigs over the years, this one stood out. Big stage, great sound, and friendly staff (and crowd!). What's not to like?!

Music bar that hosts a number of different nights that usually has a good variety of music styles on offer each month. Reasonably priced and great staff. Nice casual drinking experience with a nice dive bar feel.

Neglected, poorly run with management

I love a grungy pub but I have never been to a dirtier pub in my lifetime. It’s obviously been a very long time since the toilets were cleaned properly, skirting was filthy and hand drier/hot taps did not work. The young bar staff spent more time talking to each other or on their laptops to serve behind the bar! They were rude and we felt like an inconvenience! Will definitely not be returning and would advise you same.

The performance area is a very narrow and low ceilinged basement and tiny stage but that's just due to the physical constraints of the building and could count as creating a certain vibe (but also very claustrophobic). The very rough and basic interior could also be accepted as the intended style, all of which could be acceptable but what is unacceptable are the very unhygienic toilets and the fact that only one of the two unisex wc cubicles in the basement was working, while a couple of hundred hard drinking rock fans are down there for two or three hours. Also the toilets stank of dampness. The Cola with mixer drinks was also totally watered down and no canned option was available. We won't be back. Advice to the owners is get rid of the dampness, give your toilets a half-decent makeover and deep clean, keep them all functioning and don't cheapskate on the drinks.

Venue is suitable for all ages, be wary on steps though I nearly tripped on last step. Toilets are dirty, maybe upstairs ones are cleaner.

Stopped in here for a very swift pint en route to ‘The Chemical Brothers’ at the OVO Hydro. We were quite surprised by the atmosphere - definitely not our usual go-to but pleasant enough. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Asahi on tap was always going to be a winner as well! Managed to bag a decent table which helped our fifteen minute visit. A decent place situated on the western tip of Sauchiehall Street.

I attended the venue downstairs for a live music gig. It was small, intimate and the sound was amazing. The bar staff upstairs were friendly, efficient and full of beans which makes for an enjoyable atmosphere.

Me ... Why? Doorman1 ... I had to throw you out in the past .... Me ... I've never been thrown out of this bar ... Doorman1 ... Yeah 4 months ago ... Me ... Why do you feel the need to lie ? ... Confirm it with the bar staff .. Doorman1 ... I can't do that ... Doorman2 ... I remember you being thrown out ... Me ... I don't recognise you ... When did you start working here ? Doorman2 ... 3 months ago ... Me ... You remember me being thrown out of here before you even became a doorman here ... What is the need to lie ! ... Pity they can't be bold enough to speak the truth .... I'm old and brown ... Draw your own conclusions ... Sad this happens to me regularly in Glasgow in this day and age ...

Loved it, small, cozy and intimate venue. A place to really enjoy live music.

Grubby and grubby ... Girl on the bar downstairs looked annoyed I disrupted her texting asking for a drink. Toilets even grubbier. I understand this is a place for bands so the interior may not matter . Defo will never be back 😬 The band "The Morellos" were fab !!

Great venue for live bands, cosy feel upstairs in bar, and great vibe downstairs for supporting and watching the bands. Friendly staff and good prices. Great for a night out!

Cool wee venue. Really enjoyed the recent techno gig. Knocked off a star as we ordered two cocktails and neither was made with the right ingredients. Neither of us could finish them, they were beyond awful. I got instant heartburn and had to switch to water for the rest of the night. Shame, but otherwise was a good venue.

A wonderful little grassroots music venue right in the heart of Glasgow. Drinks are reasonably priced too, with a decent selection as well! Spiral staircase can be a little treacherous but it's workable. Toilets in good nick too. Very affordable night out, recommend this place.

The venue was appropriate for the type of gig, seats had no coverings but I reckon thats for the better! We had to wait a while in the downstairs room to even find a barman. Upstairs is much brighter than when I last ventured in. The White Russians are still top class

Nothing better than seeing local bands playing in a basement ! Surprisingly decent audio quality for a smaller venue. Friendly staff, good range of drinks, clean bar, and no vulgar graffiti in the toilets. A big sign saying " broadcast" outside might be a good idea though, all in all 9•5 out of 10. Had a great night, keep rocking

Amazing, tiny, basement venue. Went to see American Aquarium, a 6 piece, Alt. country/Americana, group who were excellent. The stage is low down so unless you are tall, or close to front you might struggle to get a good view. Also as it's so small (200 capacity), it's pretty sweaty ! The toilets are quite grim, as are the set upstairs.There's a small bar downstairs, and a larger one upstairs with a seating area. I arrived early and attempted to get a drink upstairs. It's clearly for the younger element, as the two female bar staff completely ignored me & another "mature" customer next to me. They then appeared to serve other customers in a random fashion, some of which they clearly knew. I gestured, politely, towards one staff member trying to point out that myself and the other customer had been waiting a while & were, or so I thought, at the front of the queue. She shouted "Don't wave at me !" & proceeded to ignore me more than she had done previously. Clearly my face didn't fit and I wasn't the trendy local clientele she was looking for. I could understand this if the bar had been very busy, but at that point there were less than 20 people within including myself, staff & the other older customer next to me. Unfortunately this customer took exception to being ignored by bar staff and started a minor scuffle with a young man who went in front of him & got served. I took this as my cue to go downstairs to see the support act. Downstairs, there was one male bar staff member, who was attentive & served everybody effectively. Might seem a minor . point, but the lack of service, or should I say "selective" service, from the upstairs bar staff was a bit off putting. It didn't ruin the evening but will know in future not to visit the upstairs bar.

Enjoyed the Phoebe Green gig, but was a little miffed that nobody checked anyone’s ticket. Obviously don’t mind paying for a concert; a bit p*ssed off that others literally walked in off the street and from upstairs without paying a bean.

Honestly don't understand the positive reviews of this place [as a live venue]. The view of stage is terrible pretty much everywhere and the sound is poor.

Really disappointed in this Venue. The bands that were playing on Sunday 28th August were terrific. Great music but this venue really needs to be closed and refurbished. Toilets are disgusting and there is a smell of damp everywhere.

Absolutely filthy venue. Used glasses and plates on tables along with remnants of meal. The toilets are absolutely minging. A manky dump. The downstairs venue is good but the rest of the place needs fumigated.

A Glasgow staple. The bar is cheap and open late and the venue is serviceable. Your night will truly depend on who's playing and if there are events in the surrounding area who have just let out for this bar is where you end up after every where else is closed. Good on it's own tho. This, sleazys and box are a great trio because you can match the vibe of what you want because they are all neighbors

A small intimate basement music venue. There is a bar and restaurant upstairs but I was there to see Emma Jean Thackray for some serious Jazz with a side order of funk! Banging! Great venue! (and only a short walk from The Pot Still)

Great bar although at 57 I did feel way too old. I didn't go down to the music venue as there was a band playing as I didn't have time, but it looked to be very popular... And I suppose the band that was on helped with that.

Booked here for some food before a gig at the venue downstairs. Food was excellent and great value for money. The 2 types of chicken tenders we had were delicious and the mac n cheese and fries also hit the spot. Venue downstarirs is tiny but makes for a great atmosphere when there is a decent sized crowd in. One downside....the mens toilets upstairs in the main bar could do with more regular cleaning. Other than that if you were going to Broadcast for a gig I would recommend it for pre-gig food and drinks.

Very trendy, counted 17 pairs of doc martens in the hour and a bit I was there. Nice staff and good prices

The door steward was great, explained the table service rules brilliantly and the drinks we got were decent for the price - can't complain about that part of the evening. However, after asking a member of staff for the bill he took a wee while chatting to mates and hugging them and while we were paying he didn't say a single word, not even the total of the bill. I understand that towards the end of the night you lose momentum, my partner and I both work in bars, but it doesn't take much to say "Cheers guys!". We'd only come in for one round after seeing a film, I'd understand if we were being particularly rude/drunk but we were just quietly enjoying our drinks and left feeling uncomfortable. Another member of staff (orange top) took our track and trace details and he seemed like a great guy, no complaints his way.

Broadcast is a bar that has played a major part in my time in Glasgow. It’s a bar with so much character and the music venue has hosted some of the most intimate and special gigs in recent years. Their iconic White Russians form just part of their constantly expanding drinks selection that will keep you occupied until the early hours! The food is also to die for.

Nixe bar that only does vegan food. Very small venue downstairs.

Needs a spruce up, toilets are aweful, no hot water and a "drip" from the cold water. Not impressed. Bar service was god though.

The prospect of a vegan menu filled me with dread... but going for one of the specials... a sausage supper I was pleasantly surprised. The hot dog style sausages were is a perfectly crisp and tasty batter. The chips were a dream and the curry sauce great for dipping my sausage. The perfect appetiser for some quality bands downstairs. Nachos were fine but could have done with the cheese being melted. Maybe vegan cheese doesn’t melt so well.

Are you looking for cheap white russians? Well, Broadcast is the best place to go, they're £3 so thats pretty good. Pizza kinda sucks just so you know.

Last wednesday of every month my son plays there he is going to be the next Calvin Harris the place itself is not to bad and very reasonable for drinks worth a shout worth a visit

Unbelievably good white Russian. Free entry normally and a well sized dance floor down stairs. Can't complain.

Good friendly venue, popular with a mixed crowd, partly due to it's small, cellar, music venue that draws some great alternative bands. The main bar at street level is large with a reasonable selection of draught beers and staff that I have always found to be friendly, cheerful and competent. Prices are average I suppose for a city centre pub. Biggest criticism is the extremely tiny gents toilet which is not adequate for the size of the venue. I have no knowledge of the female facilities. I like this bar, it has a good vibe about it.

Nice intimate location for a gig, but the sound quality was pretty bad, couldn't hear the singer! I'm assuming (hoping) this was a one off issue...

We saw a band from Dumfries called “The Lutras” absolutely fantastic, they were on as the support act, but in our opinion they should have been the main act. Definitely going back the next time The Lutras play at Broadcast Good venue, nice friendly bar and door staff. Did not have food this time but will try it out in future

Visited here when staying at my friends in Glasgow and we ended up staying here the whole night, loved it

OK bar, bartender seemed a bit condescending when I asked for a strawberry mojito which was kinda disappointing, didn't mix it and just poured some strawberry puree on top so you couldnt really taste the difference. The cover on the seat fell off when we sat down and another girl told us the same had happened to her. Wouldn't come back unless forced

Great underground venue. Could do with upgrading the house lighting and sound but perfect for those intimate shows. Bar downstairs is limited and cash only but you can bring drink down from the main bar upstairs. Bad if you dont want to miss any of the show but they are limited in space. Would have been nice to have draught downstairs.

Excellent service and amazing staff. Sadly no loft bit if your able to get down stairs then staff are happy to accommodate I felt very welcome and happy here sadly not wheelchair friendly which is my only downside Amazing venue with great staff
