Second time visiting - first time people were queuing to get in, this time we got in no problem. Staff are lovely and friendly, very helpful. The menu might look pricey, but the portions do not disappoint. Interior is a little dated but it's the kind of place you'd imagine to be full of salty sea dog types late in the evening, telling stories of pirates and treasure! The chips are huge and really filling, the lighthouse chicken burger is huge and the sandwiches come with crisps and pickles which is a lovely accompaniment. Definitely worth the wait. Views of the wilderness and the power station and lighthouses. Will definitely return.

The most overpriced cheese sandwich , if you want to call it that I have ever had! £10, for a few grains of grated cheese in what I can only described as “dry” bread assuming having been made and left in the heat while waiting for another sandwich and a portion of chips. We asked if it was possible when ordering if salad could be added to be told no! Why ever not, you sell salads, therefore surely you could as these items if requested. In a small plus side, the chips were nice. Whilst I appreciate being so far out you have a “captive audience” prices are far to expensive - a ham sandwich was also £10!

Dreadful, very disappointing. Jumbo haddock and chips £19.95 was exactly the same size as fish (unspecified) and chips £13.95. i.e. on the small size. We had to ask for the sticky table to be (partially) wiped. A tv on the wall was an eye magnet for most of the clientele. Dark and dingy dining area, no atmosphere. The beer was ok. Don't recommend and shan't be returning. 🙁

I like the place, the staff are really nice and they have a reasonable range of beers but the food prices are really quite unjustified. The food is ok, pub grub but for what it is it's just a bit overpriced. There are a number of award winning gastropubs that serve cheaper scampi and chips that are as good if not better for a couple of quid less. As long as you are willing to part with £50 for a couple of pints and lunch it's a winner. The location is quite amazing but budget in a hefty bill if you're going to eat here.

Very disappointed. We chose the Fish & Chip Special (think that was what is was called) rather than the "normal" fish & chips as we were pensioners. Well, I know why is was called special...there was hardly any fish in it & the batter was rock hard. I took them back to the counter to show them. Was told that the "normal" fish & chips were better. I asked what could be done. I was told they could cook some more but it would be the same as what I had just returned. Won't be returning here again.

Came in for ice creams on a sunny afternoon. Had to wait 5 or so minutes for any staff to appear. The chap who was front of house seemed to be doing his best, but the rest of the staff were borderline mute. The ice creams themselves tasted very off. They are sourced from Salcombe dairy. We ordered Lemon & banana. Both had a bitter, stale taste about them, together with the cones, which tasted very dusty and dissolved instantly... Overall quite unpleasant.

Staff were friendly enough but the food was a disappointment. Haddock and chips didn’t have much taste and the haddock itself was mainly hard burnt batter, not even soft and crispy. I told a member of staff as I paid and they said they’d get the manager. We waited by the table for a while, no one came over. I hope this review is constructive enough to help improve the quality of their food. However, I cannot recommend.

Interesting pub on the Dungeness estate and close to the shingle beach. Friendly staff behind the bar and found us a table for lunch on a busy Saturday. The sausage was on the small side but did come with a generous helping of peas (not mentioned on the menu). The plant based platter was tasty but unfortunately one of the four falafel rolled off the slate on route to our table. The menu says dips but there was only one and personally would have preferred a pitta and perhaps less crudités.

The only pub on the beach, literally. Coffee shop on the front with ice cream by the scoop + dog ice-cream also available. Bright dining space in the pub area, parking and outdoor seating with direct access to beach front. ==Dietary Requirements== Points earned for gluten free and dairy free salad options, with signs saying to not be shy to request dietary requirements. can not confirm cross contamination risks and they did briefly mention they had separate chip fryers but this was not investigated further as I did not eat. No dairy free milk for a coffee, although they do apparently normally have it, I think soya and almond sounded like they are on the menu. We visited on a Monday, so in fairness to them, they probably have a better stock over the weekends. There was a very decent vegan offering on the menu, probably more substantial than other pubs and establishments in the local area. ==Atmosphere== A clean little pub with a cafe vibe. Lovely and bright in the dining room area. Nice outdoor area. Dog friendly. Clean toilets. Friendly staff with little treat jars on the bar for dogs and kids. The friendliness of the staff can not be faulted. ==Food & Value For Money== The portion sizes I think are pretty fair for the money asked, maybe a little on the expensive side, but this pub is in the middle of nowhere. The pizza was about £11. Although it felt on the expensive side it did appear to be home made. The fish and chips were a fair price. But didn't appear to be anything special. Kids (11, 8 + 5) shared an adult pizza and small fish + chips with another adult. They were not particularly hungry and it was all eaten. Kids meals are available for £5.95. A meal without alcohol would fall into the £11-13 region, which I feel is pretty standard value. They probably couldn't survive charging any less. ==Final impressions== For the only pub on the beach (there is a cafe at the train station) they could charge what they like and dish out whatever they felt like. There's literally no competition. Awarded 4 stars instead of a 3 as they really have made an effort to cater for all dietary requirements. Which is actually quite rare in the area to be presented with such choice. They provide friendly service, it may not be the best but they are genuinely trying. Yes, as other reviews mention, food might not be the best, but have had far worse and seen much worse menus.

The lady just said all of our food may contain nuts. Whilst I appreciate allergies can be a pain, restaurants have a legal obligation to provide clear and concise information. I’d heard the place was back on track from other caravan owners at our holiday park, so thought I’d give it another go… big mistake. Large cod: there was more flesh in the ‘youngs frozen’ cod fillet that I had to cook myself. Why did I have to cook something - the fish I had was slimy and both smelled and tasted ‘off’ - a strong ammonia smell under the soggy and insipid batter. Chips: were dry and chewy like they’d been sat around and reheated. Battered Sausage - no longer using Korkers sausages which were meaty - the sausage was more filler than meat, anaemic looking and soggy batter. That’ll be a no-go for any return for me and family - there are better options in the High Street.

Always liked the atmosphere at the master brewer. Nice location with duck pond near by and free parking. Had a really good time for a friend's birthday recently but the only issue is they were running out of drinks... To the point I had a vodka lemonade with more vodka than lemonade because they were running out of mixer. I wasn't complaining but it was a curious situation to be in. Regardless of the lack of supply the bar staff were friendly and accommodating. In the words of Arnie in the terminator... I'll be back

Something different & refreshing for New Romney town. A nice looking bar, plenty of drink options, good music & comfortable seating. When I visited it was mid week and basically empty, but still a good atmosphere. A nice young lady was serving our drinks, hello on arrival, goodbye on leaving. Reasonably priced, would visit again.
