I was travelling to victoria park with my kids as they were very hangry we sow this fish and chips shop we hade a nuggets wings and fish and chips it was very fresh and friendly staff member keep the good job up 👌

Tried this fish bar for the first time and was impressed with how fresh the fish was, it held the salt and vinegar perfectly with its perfect crisp and fleshy meat. I’m definitely going to become a regular great customer service from Ali was really welcoming.

Not sure which type of fish it was. A fish finger contains more fish than the fillet we got and would be considerably cheaper!!

The team here are very friendly. I visited for the first time a month ago and if you want me to be honest, the food is amazing. The store is a local favourite I was told by the many people in front of me in the queue, so I look forward to making Britannia my go to chip shop. Keep up the great work guys! Just got some from there an I’m not one person to moan at the size but for a chip role is the size wasn’t actually right I’m not sure But you can go to a chicken shop an get a box full for less money

I tried the chicken burger but didn't really like it. The chips are good and the wings are nice too, but the quality isn't always consistent. Sometimes there's too much salt, or the portions of chips are small, or the wings are too little. Despite these issues, I do enjoy the chips as they are usually soft, and I find myself ordering them often.

Quality of food declined but price gone up. Used to buy regular fish and chips from here, but recently the quality has got worse. The cod fish was tasteless, the batter was crummy and dry in areas and did not cling to the white meat of the fish as it should. The chips were not all that. The price for small cod and small chips an eye watering £12. Very expensive, greed has taken over the business since they have inflated their prices the standard of the quality of the food has sunken. For about £4 I can buy some lovely breaded cod from supermarket really tasty stuff. When I’m paying £12 I expect top notch quality fish and chips not some old tripe in piece of wrapping paper.

I have been coming to Britain nia fish bar for about a year. The chips reminds me of when I use to go school and I would go to my local chippi at lunch time .also bearing in mind that there's always a looong queue . I've tried their carrot cake which I honestly enjoyed Thank you Britannia

The best fish and chip shop in Town. I am a regular customer and everytime the food is fresh and delicious and the place in clean and tidy, you know they change the oil, its always fresh. Lovely , friendly staff working there. I will only go here for my fish and chips excellent quality and very good prices

I brought chips ,chicken wings,sausages and batter and savoy When I eat the sausage and batter it was still raw inside it was pink and wasn’t cooked propley. Now I am sick and I have a bad case of dirroriea because of this. The staff need to learn how to cook the food propley

Une bonne surprise. Nous cherchions de quoi manger rapidement le midi. Nous sommes entrés dans ce bar et avons découvert une belle carte de poisson. Notre choix fait nous avons mangé dans le parc à proximité. Les fish’s était très bon. Croustillants et le poisson fondant. Les portions sont énormes, n’hésitez pas a prendre une frite pour deux.

The plaice was absolutely brilliant. It was super fresh. The batter was perfection. This was the best fish n chips experience I've had in London. It's value for money and I highly recommend it. The chips weren't my favourite, though it was a massive portion. They were fine, but didn't blow my mind like the fish did. Good food does blow my mind - I live for these moments. 😝 The guys behind the counter were great and gave us cutlery when we asked. We sat in the park and ate, but be aware the foxes will come if it's night time. We saw quite a few.

I booked Britania Fish Bar in Mile End for a late (1pm) Saturday lunch with the girls. Don’t be fooled by the exterior, this was a fantastic place to get your seafood fix in London and the ambience and classy decorations reminded us of wining and dining on the devon coast during the summer holidays with our families. THE FOOD We started with salt cod croquettes and some Camembert and for the main shared octopus, crab, mussels and fries x2 which was plenty for the four of us. Octopus was perfectly cooked but the mussels were the star of the show. After finishing them we threw the fries into the mussel sauce , which albeit a little uncivilised for a classy establishment like this, did actually taste quite good. You don’t want all those juices to go to waste! THE DRINKS We ordered tap water, one glass of sparkling water and a bottle of Chardonnay to wash down all the feesh. The chippy was good to serve it at a cool rather than ferociously chilled temperature. About 11-13 degrees I would say. We went for chardonnay as it’s not too rich or cloying and it’s light minerality and semi sweetness makes it a perfect accompaniment to the light seafood lunch we found ourselves tucking into. All in all 5 stars thanks for a great lunch bill was slightly more expensive than your regular chippy but cost of living crisis means we expected higher prices.

Meals were delivered on time and were enjoyed by all.

These guys always friendly here..my advice is if your in a rush call and order what you want so its ready when you arrive..as always seem to wait for fresh chips. But very nice chip shop..( they do not do kebab here) just a good old fish n chip shop

Best fish and chips I had in years! We came over from Ireland for weekend. When I saw him putting the batter on the fresh large Cod I thought this looks good. Well the portion size of the large chips 🍟 was massive. The 3 of us were very happy with our takeaway. Highly recommend this place. Thanks gentlemen.

The owner is very rude. Chip fryer is so small you always have to wait for chips to be cooked.Its not the same quality and standard as it was 3 years ago.chips are full of oil. Definitely will not be going back pretty deserpointing as I used this chips shop when I was a teenager living on roman road. I will stick to Alans in Poplar who changes oil regularly

Be going here for around a year and always been happy with the fish and chips but om my last visit, i was completely disappointed. When i got home, couldn't believe how small the rock was, literally quarter the size of what i normally get and on top of that, never seen so many bad chips, around 80% of them were and on top of all of that, they've increased their prices. Such a shame because before this experience, i found them the best around for size and quality.

Great food, large portions, extremely nice people. Been using them for a few years now and never had bad food. Sometimes a bit of a wait because they like to cook fresh.

Vile chips cooked in old oil fish cake stank and was clearly not cooked that day was so hungry tried eating some ove the fish cake ended up with diarrhoea avoid this place

It wasn't my first time and I usually love it but this time the chips were too salty and they were all mushy because of the amount of vinegar they put.

Good chips and great service. I had the veggie burger which wasn't great to be honest and I only ate half. To be fair, people will be coming here for fish and chips not for veggie burger and chips.

I work all around London so I know my fish and chips pretty well, and this one's always been on my list to try. Needn't have bothered - old manky chips I expect on Tuesday lunchtime but this is Friday evening and you're serving this junk? Roughly 20% scrap with the rest just poor quality chips. Look at the pictures others have posted and tell me that oil looks healthy. Batter should be golden not the colour of Trump's skin. And wear a mask, all of you behind the counter...

Decent, clean local chippy with very friendy service and good portions. Not open for delivery services at the moment but you can collect if you call an order ahead (although I've never waited longer than 5 minutes just turning up). A good community asset, literally right to the bus stop.

Food tasted nice at the time but had a bit of a runny stomach the next day. But hey maybe it's just me 🤷🏾‍♂️

I walked in here, ordered a cod fish and chips x 2, i waited about 20minutes. But that was no problem. The problem was that I dismissed all the bad reviews at this place as I like trying things my self and then judging it. The fish looked good, the service was really polite and friendly. What dissapointed me was that, after waiting 20minutes and then a 10minute walk home. I unveiled the surprise meal which was for my wife, whom was craving fish and chips for the past few days. She was excited until she got a whif of the cod. I tried to play it like, cmon babe;i think you're overreacting, but then.... i smelt it my self... i was in an illusion thinking that the fish would be fresh as it was just cooked. Indeed it was just cooked, theres no doubt about that but... the actual fish went bad. It had a strong smell to it and even the skin of the fish remained intact under the batter(which is not common). Whats worse is that, my wife found a fish bone, only 1. But thats a big deal. You dont expect someone to search through the cod, and take every bite of it very cautiously. Its a cod fish and chips, its not supposed to have bones. I understand that some places still do have bones sometimes. But in my experiences, every other place where I did find a bone, they had a DISCLAIMER/WARNING. So all in all, the environment is friendly, and the chips were good. But the fish was off, and they claim to be halal, but it would be better if they had a halal certificate. Hope they can acknowledge my concern, and rectify it as it would ultimately increase their revenue and please customers

Great chips, some workers are lovely and actually give a really good potion so it's value for money but, this one time a guy who I had never seen before on bonfire night tried giving me a small portion for the large price that's only reason it isn't 5/5 stars but I do, highly recommend this place.

Cannot recommend highly enough. If you're in the area give them a try for one of London's most authentic traditional fish and chips meals.
