This was, without a doubt, the worst travel experience I have ever had. I rarely take the time to review airlines or airports, but this experience was so appalling, I feel compelled to warn others. First, I purchased my ticket through KIWI.com, which completely misrepresented the true costs. They deceived me about additional charges, and the lack of transparency left me feeling duped and frustrated. Never again will I use their services. At the airport, the staff were shockingly unhelpful and inefficient. Not only did they provide incorrect and misleading information, but they also hit me with unexpected, unnecessary charges at check-in. When I tried to get clarity, they were dismissive and condescending, as though I was the one at fault for their incompetence. As if that wasn’t enough, the disorganization reached a new low when they announced at the very last minute that the gate was closing, throwing everyone into chaos. People were literally sprinting through the terminal in panic, only to arrive and face yet another massive queue. It was nothing short of humiliating and stressful. The airline itself, RyanAir, was no better—cutting corners at every step, treating passengers like cattle, and prioritizing profit over basic customer care. And Bristol Airport? A logistical nightmare, poorly run and utterly incapable of handling its passengers with any level of efficiency or respect. I will *never* book through KIWI.com again. I will *never* fly RyanAir again. And I will go out of my way to avoid Bristol Airport for the rest of my life. This was a disgraceful, infuriating experience from start to finish. Save yourself the stress and avoid all three at all costs!

Always use this airport and do so multiple times a year. The last 6 months it has been a complete shower. Majority of staff I encounter need a lesson in customer service. Rude and faces like a wet weekend. Coming through security on outbound, they are using scanners which are faulty and pulling everyones bags ....causing a massive backlog. The staff advised that they are unable to open other scanning lanes and have been told by their superiors to continue using the faulty ones, (even though there are bucket loads of other scanners not being used)🤦‍♂️. Passport control is repeatedly understaffed on the inbound. constant queuing as per photo... massive backlogs.. especially when 3-4 flights land at the same time. Ground crew understaffed also.. sometimes takes an hour to get stairs to the plane (particularly at night-time), ditto for baggage reclaim. Quick drop off (if depositing pessengers), is a hefy £6 just to drive in & out again... no wonder everyone is blocking up farmers gateways on the entrance to the airport to dump their passengers😤 ...and get this.. there is NO free drop off for disabled passengers,.which is totally unbelievable for an airport in this day and age. Long stay parking is also £££ compared to other airports. If you arrive out of hours food/ drink options are limited. The majority of the Gates are serviced by stair cases, which is a nightmare with children and/ or lugging trolley cases up and down. I really feel sorry for less able passengers. You could at least have put mechanical staircases into help people out. The terminal is generally dirty with rubbish everywhere when it's busy and nowhere near enough seating for everyone waiting... so a lot of people are sitting all over the floor. Come on Bristol, pull yourselves together, there's no excuse for pants service in a regional!!... PS.. congratulations on getting planning for the airport expansion.. but you can't cope with the number of passengers you've got.... so how are you going to cope with another 2 million passengers when there's insufficient infrastructure (A38 constant traffic jam as it is....when busy its easily 30 mins just to drive the half mile up the hill to get in and reach the pickup point... why not just open the rear access of the airport rather than causing horrendous congestion and air pollution!!!!!! ; useless bus service and non existent rail link); insufficient parking and the terminal is not big enough🤦‍♂️.. good luck with that ! Never thought I would say this, but having used Gatwick instead recently, it was an absolute joy! Gatwick staff are polite, security was rapid, the whole experience was a breath of fresh air by comparison. Bristol ..you are useless.. why are you trying to get permission to expand on the existing expansion plans, when the place doesn't even function properly as it is, at the moment!!! 😤

Bristol Airport is one of the worst airports I have ever visited, and unfortunately, I will have to visit it again in the future. Where do I even begin? If you’re considering paying extra for Fast Track or Priority services with any airline, save your money. Security will stop you regardless and subject you to a “special check.” This has been my experience, and the experience of those close to me, repeatedly. The airport itself is poorly designed, and if you’ve paid for Priority Boarding, forget about actually using it. You’ll have to navigate a staircase maze crammed with people who will glare at you as if you’ve committed a crime just for trying to get through them to your priority queue. This is assuming you even know where you’re supposed to go, as there are no clear instructions anywhere. On top of this, the airport’s design makes it highly sensitive to even minor weather disruptions. If the weather takes a slight turn for the worse, you won’t be flying anywhere. Instead, you’ll find yourself sitting in the plane for hours—like sardines in a tin. My last experience saw passengers stuck on the plane for over 3 hours. And then there’s Ryanair, one of the least customer-friendly airlines—especially at this airport. In other countries, this airline operates somewhat reasonably, but at Bristol Airport, the staff representing Ryanair are utterly unprofessional and lack basic courtesy. Despite paying extra for a carry-on, seat selection, and priority boarding, they mercilessly send everyone to check their tiny cabin bags. If your bag exceeds their dimensions by even 2 cm in depth, other sizes may be alright(as recently happened to me), they’ll force you to pay an outrageous £75 on the spot, with no professionalism in how it’s handled. It’s worth mentioning that as of this date, Ryanair has been fined over €100 millions in Spain for these same exploitative practices. I hope other countries follow suit. Lastly, the airport is poorly connected to surrounding areas, including Bristol itself. If you don’t want to wait an eternity for a bus and opt for an Uber, prepare to pay at least £50. This is due to the high fees the airport charges drivers, which they pass on to you. To make matters worse, arranging a pick-up is a nightmare. Drivers are often confused about whether to go to the Short Stay or Pick-Up Zone, and many will simply cancel your ride rather than deal with the hassle of this airport. This airport and its operations are simply unacceptable.

Badly Managed. Fine on departures but cuttiing corners on arrivals makes coming back from a holiday an unesseccarily stressful experience. ffs! Install escalators to get people up to passport control safely, rather than making crowds of people walk up copious flights of stairs. Yes, I do know you have two lifts, but it's really not good enough for the flow of people. People are packed into the bus to the silver carpark by the bus attandant like sardines. Surely this is a health and safety concern, especially for the elderly. Stop cutting corners, @bristolairport and put on more buses!

Charge for everything from dropping off someone to trolly hire both of which are mostly free at other airports No public transport links (well that's a slow, expensive bus if you're lucky.) Looking tired and shabby now.. but they are building more parking so they will be able to over charge even more people to park whilst doing nothing to improve transport links. The usual rip off from the highwaymen at Bristol Airport. I collected a friend Thursday evening. As a driver I found the signage for the pick up car park dreadful with all the roadworks - really hard to get your bearings. My elderly friend found it hard to get to the short stay/pick up car park because again the signage from the terminal is not clear. To top at all, only one exit barrier from the car park was working so we were all queued which meant more money for Bristol Airport as it goes past the lowest charge. All the money they rip off the public and yet they can’t install a barrier where you can just tap with your card. I saw lots of people getting to the barrier and then realising they had to go to the pay point and endorse their ticket - this all adds to the time that can be charged for as the driver has to park, do the ticket and rejoin the exit queue.. A simple sign explaining there is no numberplate recognition and you have to pay at a pay station when going in might help, but it would of course mean less money for Bristol Airport

Very poorly equipped, no place to be quiet. We are almost treated like animals!!! THIS IS SHAMEFUL!!!!! At the time of boarding, the 3 hostesses wanted to make us pay an extra £48 (or €57.70) because supposedly our bags were too big when not at all in the end by forcing them a little. have returned. KNOWING that we had taken 3 planes with this same bag and no one said anything to us!! On top of that, one of the hostesses threatens us with not being able to take our flight because we supposedly insulted him. They must be so used to it that they hear little voices in their heads!! Forced to apologize for something we didn't do, otherwise I think we wouldn't have been able to catch our plane. Very unhappy with this airport!!! Absolutely the worst airport in terms of security and special assistance service that I have had the misfortune to use this year. Five UK airports I have flown from so far: security here is humiliation personified for special assistance users. Searched for no discernable reason, including hand doen the trousers waist check, in public whilst in a wheel chair. Had to chase assistance desk for transfer to plane, had to stand to get into the lift to the plane transfer vehicle, left sitting for 20+ minutes in the freezing cold vehicle and had to show boarding card 5 times during the process. And a passport twice (for an internal flight). Member of staff freely admitted that other passengers had similar experiences and that there was very little consistency in security arrangements/procedures. Lesson? Fly to/from a different airport and catch a train.

We should be embarrassed by this airport. Worst airport experience ever. And I’m not even comparing it to major city hubs like Heathrow or Singapore. There are smaller, cheaper airports the size of garden sheds that have presented better experiences. This airport is a complete rip off and it is not equipped to handle the amount of passenger flow or public traffic for it. It serves as a major hub for the southwest of England and yet, public transport is non existence for it. Getting to and from the airport relies on single lane traffic. And when you are there, it will cost you £6 just to drop off your friends or family. Which by the way, is £1 more expensive than Heathrow airport. Cost to park at the airport is almost on par with Heathrow too. Once you’re in there, you’re packed like sardines. Which, is expected on the that I paid £25 for. But surely, the airport itself, the biggest airport in the entire South West of England, an airport charging me more than Heathrow to use, an airport that people travel up to 3 hours to use. Can do better, should do better Obviously. This excuse of an airport is just to service the Ontario Teacher’s Pension Fund. To squeeze every penny out of the people of the South West, just so some unknowing, hardworking teacher in Ontario can live off our misery. This is emblematic of the transport issues around Bristol and the South West in general. Utter embarrassment.

We had a very bad experience with gate staff for our Easyjet flight to Edinburgh. They refused to let us on with a handbag in addition to a rucksack, despite the fact we have travelled with the same bags multiple times and had no issues coming down from Edinburgh two days before. They demanded £48, were rude and confrontational and said they'd take us off the flight if we didn't pay. The woman dealing with us refused to give her name and would not get a manager despite me requesting this twice. I pointed out the inconsistency in airline policies to allow us to fly down without charge but not back. She didn't care. We've always flown down and back with Easyjet and never had issues before. Her colleague then stepped in and snidely said if we were that worried about inconsistency, how about she charge us retrospectively for the flight down so she would charge us £96 before we were allowed to board. We've never been so threatened and irritated in our lives and as someone who suffers from anxiety, this was incredibly stressful and ruined the end of our holiday. We ended up having to pay the £48 but it has left an awful taste being bullied by two Gate staff. Staff who are unable to give good customer service should not be in the role. And staff should be trained properly in airline policies.

Bristol airport is a work in progress, I believe at the end of the ongoing projects at the airport, the parking issue would be reconsidered. The drop and go should be free for 15 minutes, but for now, it is still alright.

Utter shambles. I have never been too such a disorganised airport run by such inept people. Took 20 minutes to wait for a bus to take us no more than 20 yards to the terminal, when people deplaning from the Ryanair plane literally right next to us walked it. Ironically, our bus stopped for 10 minutes to let all of the people on the Ryanair plane deplane and go to the terminal before opening the doors. Literally 30 minutes after landing to move 20 yards.

Shocking, and an embarrassment to Bristol. If you can fly from another airport, I would suggest doing so. Way too small for the amount of passengers they're trying to cram through. Not to mention the appalling transportation links. Options. 1) Get ripped off by the ludicrously expensive Arrow cabs, of which there aren't enough anyway. Often 40+ minute wait. 2) Wait ages for the infrequent buses. 3) Get ripped off for substandard parking. 4) Walk a couple of miles to get an Uber.

NOT A CUSTOMER FRIENDLY AIRPORT It’s a shame I couldn’t give no stars or minus stars. The airport is a joke you have to walk miles and miles I clocked up 1.5 miles today. I was dropped off the bus from the plane, you have to walk upstairs. There is no lift then you have to walk for an eternity to get to the baggage carousel. I felt really sorry for anybody that was elderly Or has a little bit of problem walking, why didn’t they put in travelators? Like they have other airports. Car parked in the silver zone costs a fortune. I wasn’t aware they move your car after you parked it! Dropping the keys off before your holidays is easy, it’s not so easy getting them back, yet again another queue with those stupid up-and-down tapes. Only two people and a very long queue. Only one person per party allowed to pick the keys up the rest have to stay outside! What happens if it’s raining? Do they just get wet? And when you have to walk miles to get your car from where they have parked it there are no covered walkways! In the UK, it rains a lot. Do they just expect everybody to get soaking wet?

Arriving at the entrance to the airport it was noticeable how clean it was. The process through to the departure lounge was quick and easy. All electronics were left inside luggage which made it much easier.

What can I say, very airporty. Nice smallish airport, shame we have to pay to drop people off though. Currently undergoing lots of construction work and driving route is different.

Would not recommend the Silver Zone parking. I got back late Sunday night, early Monday morning. It was raining really hard, and I did what we all would do: I looked around the car for dents and then got in and drove off. I got down the road and heard a noise from the car when I went around a left-hand bend. So I found somewhere with light to look at the left-hand side of the car and found that the inner plastic wing had been ripped off and was rubbing the tire when it was on the left-hand lock. I told them, and they said, "You have left the car park; it's not down to us now." To top it all off, the exhaust is plowing a bit as well. So I would never use it again, as the car was not like that when I parked it.

A busy airport, quite small, though. However you can find shops to purchase travel essentials and of course the standard shops with perfumes, restaurants etc. There is an outdoor smoking area on the first level. Accessible to wheelchair.

Flawless. Fast security processing. Flight was on time. Toilets were clean. Ordering a taxi at the airport cost an extra charge. Maybe think about an alternative. Unfortunately, password control at the machine didn't work. It worked perfectly in Amsterdam. I have no idea what happened there. Overall impression rather positive.

Dirty and run-down. All the staff in every single franchise looked miserable and the few I used were lacking in any kind of smile or positive outlook. Toilets smelt and again were grubby. This was on a very quiet Tuesday mid-morning. Horrid nasty little place.

Speaking of an experience last summer hols with my family: avoid this airport if you can. They have expanded too fast and have too many people passing through for the space and facilities they have available. It used to be so convenient, but now it is just an awful experience. Maybe it's alright outside the holidays, but during it I will actively avoid it from now on. And security was one of the most unpleasant I have had in recent years. Not only is the buy ahead VIP security service a rip off (the queue is the same length as the normal one), a rough member of staff actually injured my arm throwing a tray at me, and then told me off for taking out my items in a transparent bag! Which is what you're supposed to do still, as most airports haven't stopped doing that! And getting to the place is a real hassle, no train link, and bus services are substandard. Taxi is only other option, but entry fee is extortionate for pickup/drop off area. Hope I won't be back for a while.
