Just before Christmas we visited this restaurant and had an exceptional meal. We decided to return for birthday celebrations so last night six of us arrived expecting more of the same. What a transformation! Style over substance is now the order of the day! I had a crayfish salad for starters, three mouthful and it's gone. For the main course three of us had lambshank and three had haddock parcels. The lambshank were plonked in a bowl with a few pieces of random vegetables floating in the bottom. The haddock looked nice but also was insubstantial. No set course menu so a la carte prices which represented poor value for money. Won't be rushing back here!!!

Having been regular visitors to the Crown pub we finally decided to try the restaurant. The small, intimate eating area is fine and the menu is varied and more than adequate for all customers. The presentation of all the courses was exceptional, in keeping with a high-end establishment. All the food was beautifully cooked with just the right amount of seasoning and flavour. Service was good, efficient and courteous. They've pitched the pricing just right with three courses at just under £24. I hesitate to heap any more praise on this restaurant, as it might make getting a table difficult in the future!

This small and intimate restaurant in a village pub is a hidden gem. The restaurant area is small (around 22 covers) plus additional seating in parts of the lounge area. Its set in a very old and historic building. Friday and Saturday offer a full Restaurant Menu with Sundays offering a traditional Lunch etc. Weekdays vary so best call first. After several visits at weekends its been generally a small and seasonally changing Menu with an excellent and adequetly varied choice on Friday and Saturday. There usually seems to be at least one Fish and Vegetarian Main along with a choice of meat dishes. Deserts are superb too. Not generally huge portions but perfect for the type and style of food being served , this is not part of a large group or chain as are so many pubs these days, the food is freshly cooked with a genuine passion and goes well beyond what you may expect from such a small and tucked away establishment. As its so small I expect booking especially at weekends would be essential.

Went for my birthday lunch with 15 others and partook in a superb meal in lovely rustic surrounds. Was joined by the owner of the pub who saved it from closure about 8 years ago much to the delight of supportive customers from the village of Elford and beyond. So impressed we have booked our Christmas day lunch here made possible by a cancellation. The owner leaves the catering solely to the chef and his wife who do a magnificent job.

A lovely Sunday lunch in this cosy little restaurant, that was cooked & presented to perfection. Everything on our plate (except condiments) was prepared in their kitchen. Quality service by Olivia with no rush whatsoever, just like a Sunday afternoon should be. Don’t change a thing!! 👌🍽🍷

We visited Brisket and Brûlée last night! What a treat!! Four of us enjoyed a great three course meal washed down with the usual great selection of drinks from the Crown! I started with the crab salad, followed by the chicken ballotine and finished with the cheesecake and it was all first class 5 star food. The staff are great and the food truly fantastic Thanks guys

The Crown at Elford, now brewing its own ale in-house, is a much loved and cherished pub not just with locals, but with those who drive for miles to sit with good company in a consistently cheery, comfortable setting. The Crown now houses Brisket and Brûlée, newly opened this year, and not yet received the recognition it deserves outside of locals’ knowledge. I went to the first of Brisket and Brûlée’s themed evenings, the lobster night on Saturday, 12 August. The restaurant is clean, warm, with a pleasant and lively atmosphere. The tables delicately set with much care taken not to overcrowd, with lit candles flickering, jugs of water and white napkins. We sat down at 19:30, with pints of Crown Ale from the bar, and wine ordered at the table, and were served the first course soon after; Lobster bisque with crab beignet and caviar. The bisque was silk in my throat and felt wholesome and warming. The flavour was so rich and the beignet was light and soft and subtle. Next came the sea trout gravlax, which was fresh and herby. Then it was mussels with bacon, chives, and Crown Ale sauce. The sauce was so moreish and there was plenty of it served with bread, which is just as well as there was nothing left but empty shells. (I must admit I am a sauce hog and think when a sauce is so good like this we should not be deprived of it). Next came the herb crusted cod with pea and pearl barley risotto. The herb crust was crispy and coupled nicely with creamy, thick, starchy risotto. Sweetness of pea, curry flavours and fragrances, done so well. A mango sorbet followed. I always have reservations about sorbet courses, engrained in my mind as a bit of a pompous ‘palate cleanser’, not usually necessary. But this one was actually lush, with a healthy glug of limoncello there was a lot of point to it and it was thoroughly tasty. Next was the lobster in all its glory, the claw and tail slightly sweet, meaty and salty. There was a delicious serving of lobster meat in a boozy, creamy sauce, which was my absolute favourite. I could’ve eaten a whole sink of the stuff. I melted garlic butter over fries and it was decadent, but it had to be done. The 7 courses came to a close with mini baked Alaskas with shortbread biscuit. The biscuit was the best one of its kind I’ve ever eaten. What an absolute delight the whole evening was. The service; every dish was brought out at a pace just right, the music and ambience also just right, and the thought gone into the order of the dishes was apparent as the evening flowed. The food absolutely hit the spot and more, it was the most thoughtful and carefully prepared food I’ve eaten in Tamworth and surrounding areas for sure. The presentation was dainty and wonderful and the portion sizes were perfect. We left feeling fulfilled, content, nourished, happy and all the other good words. The laughs, high vibes, and cheer from every other table in the restaurant tells me that we weren’t the only ones. Do you think Brisket and Brulee could be the ‘jewel in the crown’? pop down The Crown or book in for an upcoming themed evening, I believe the next one to be game themed. Brisket and Brûlée also host a popular pizza and pasta night on Wednesdays, a pie and pint night for £10 on Thursdays, a la carte Fridays and Saturdays and Sunday lunch on, well, Sundays.

Went due to new owners. Food good but overpriced a Roast dinner £20 per person, would do better if the price included a dessert. Staff friendly and attentive.
