Brighton Curry in Brighton and Hove

Tried Brighton Curry near Kemptown and really enjoyed it! It’s just a short walk from the city centre, so super easy to get to. Booking a table was no hassle at all. The food was delicious – proper authentic Indian flavours with a good variety of dishes to choose from. Prices were very reasonable too, which was a nice surprise. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole place had a relaxed, welcoming vibe. We only visited once but had a great experience overall. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving Indian food in Brighton!

Smallest portions for the amount you spend. Be careful. They offer no salad or rice in their platters and grills as well, top that off with the tiny portions they give you, you end up spending way too much for what you get. It definitely sounded a lot better before I ordered. Rip off.

We came in this evening for a table for 2, lovely staff, greeted us, allowed our dog to come in so we could enjoy dining in! Wow incredible food, very tasty , great potions and everything we ordered was cooked perfectly , would say one of the best Indian restaurants we have eaten at!

Such a lovely place with great good and a friendly staff. The food was perfect and arrived quickly, the staff kept making sure we are fine and were super friendly and inviting. The atmosphere is fantastic with great Indian music. 100% recommended.

Lovely little informal corner restaurant near my red Brighton blue hotel accommodation. Nice short menu but still difficult to choose as several dishes appealed. In the end I did the duck leg thali and a good choice it was too. Excellent meal, excellent staff, highly recommended.

What a delight! Had a yearning for a curry (recently back from Sri Lanka) and decided to head east to Kemptown rather than my usual Hove haunts. I honestly think the Thali I had was the best curry I’ve had in this country (including Leicester/Bradford). It was completely delicious.

Will not recommend for people wanting to eat Indian or desi food. The curry is tasteless and the naan are packaged ones.

I enjoyed my dinner in this lovely restaurant. It was quiet and I received one of the best service in a restaurant! Rai, who has welcomed and served me tonight, has recommended to me the perfect dinner as a reward for my hard days work. The Chicken Dum Biryani exceeded my expectations as it was very delicious and easy to eat. The Gulab Jamun with coconut ice cream was to die for! I was pleasantly surprised with this combo as the coconut ice cream is black coulored and the sweet pastry is very light. Lastly, Mango Lassi is the perfect drink with a smooth finish to the palate. Overall, I will definitely go back for other dishes and recommend this restaurant to my family, friends, colleagues and other food lovers! x

Incluso me dieron una muestra de la salsa de antemano, ya que me preocupaba que fuera demasiado picante. El personal era muy amable y atento. Me encantó la decoración colorida. Recomiendo encarecidamente cuando visite Brighton.

El servicio fue rápido y amable, la comida era fantástica! Teníamos el pollo Hyderabad biryani y berenjena al curry. Ambos estaban deliciosos, con auténticas especias y sabores indios. Called in early to pick up a takeaway away. Very friendly staff. Nice interior, quiet when I went in, but as I say it was early. Tasty food and all in sustainable packaging. Sure we'll be back before long.

Another fine meal at Brighton’s finest curry restaurant. Beautifully fresh pappadoms followed by a thali, a fish curry and two different chicken curries - all simply outstanding. Service was friendly and efficient and we had a really good evening. Worth making the effort to get here!

We had a big Christmas meal here and it was absolutely amazing. Service and food is incredible and really generous portions, and the cocktails were delicious.

We stayed locally and went here based on other reviews and were glad we did. The restaurant was small and cosy with a very attentive (but not intrusive) front of house staff member. The poppadoms and sauces were already some of the best I've had. We then ordered the Thali which was a curry with bread, rice, dall, pakora etc and all of it was delicious. Highly recommended and will definitely be visiting again if we return to Brighton!

I had the vegan thali, and it's one of the best curries I've ever had (even though I'm not vegan). The rice is the nicest rice I have ever eaten even though it was plain and not pilau, etc! The staff were wonderful and really looked after us and made our 9-year-old daughter feel really welcome.

It was been a while since I had a curry and naan last time but it was one of my best curry restaurants! I’ll come back :))

A very lovely Indian restaurant in Brighton. The food was delicious, well priced and had very large portion sizes. The service was very friendly and helpful for food suggestions. The restaurant is very bright and colourful and a joy to be in. Had a fantastic dinner here!

This indian restaurant is definitely an underrated one in Brighton. Inside is a homey place with beautiful decorations, perfect for any occasion. Each curry is served with rice/naan and a side (usually a dal). This is a tradition in Indian food culture which adds to the authenticity of this place. Going here will definitely provide you with a full dining experience. I highly recommend! Their nepalese dumplings are also to die for. Will definitely be coming back!

No queríamos ir demasiado lejos, y como este restaurante fue calificado 4 . 5 , pensamos, por qué no. ¡Gran decisión! Para empezar, solo los poppadoms y pepinillos, excelente. Mains, tenía cordero, mi pareja, hongos y garbanzos al curry. Brillantes sabores, pero estúpidamente, pedí que lo condimentara. Muy caliente, pero me lo comí todo. Volvería a comer aquí de nuevo, solo desearía que este restaurante pudiera ser trasladado a Maidstone, donde vivimos y nunca volvería a cocinar.

Staff are friendly and focused on customer service. Starters were amazing. Mains were good. Busy little restaurant with a great atmosphere.

Nearly a 5* for the food, we had 4 thalis which were all very good. It was only the potatoes and cost of the 'nibbles' which were only the poppadoms (4 of us) and 3 small dips £9.50!!! We'll definitely go again and now know what to refrain from to keep the cost down.

One of the best Indian meals I’ve ever eaten, and the waiter recommended a perfect wine to go with it. The service was also great, the waiter was pleasant and attentive.

I ordered Mughalai veg biryani. It was awesome and good quqntity. Two can eat. So, plan accordingly. 😀 Staff was very friendly.

Visiting because recommended by couple of friends so already booked a table as i heard they busy. Very nice Indian curry place for both vegetarian and non vegetarians. I like the striking yellow colour of the front and colourful interior inside. Great service and so delicious food. Everything was top class and thanks to their chef. Now Brighton Curry is one of my favourite place. One of us was vegetarians so glad to have a lot of options for everyone. delicious curry options for all kind of customers. Jeera aloo ( just tempered with jeera ) palak paneer chewy paneer and lack of palak in it, someone suggested me order from Brighton curry but it was the worthless and tasteless meal I ever had.

Use Google Map to find this highly rated restaurant near the hotel and give it a try. Really satisfied with the result, the menu is easy to read, each dish has descriptions, and the food is delicious. The staff were very friendly. They found out that it was my birthday and gave me a little surprise. Thank you very much. They were not very busy that day, so I took a photo with them as a souvenir. I will visit again next time I'm in Brighton.

Brighton Curry is an absolute find. We walked past and saw the catching exterior, bright beautiful colours. We walked in and heard fantastic fun authentic Indian tunes. The staff were so kind and accommodating. The stand out for this restaurant was the food. Absolutely amazing. Delicious, great size and price. Thank you for looking after us. We will be back.

On the vacation of my friends birthday, we planed to go to a beach near by us, so we planed to go to Brighton beach, the beach experience was soo good and we had a very good time over there. After we all done with beach we went to a restaurant named Brighton Currys – Indian Curry Restaurant which is near to beach and we ordered multiple of orders like Chicken lollipop, chicken dum biryani, and etc.. The taste was not so great and we ordered extra spicy but not spicy and the employs are not good in there hospitality, there service was very slow and have a bit off attitude on there faces and we didn’t feel good with there service. Bad experience with there service and the food was OKAY not great, but you can try once..

Visited at lunchtime on a Thursday and were greeted by a very friendly member of staff. We opted for the lunch special which was amazing and very reasonably priced. The food was delicious and very generous. We will be visiting again next time we are in Brighton, can highly recommend!

This will be the second time I’ve used this place, I ate in there then several days I ordered on one of the food apps and it was delicious. I will continue to use this place as long as the food stays at the same quality and portion sizes. Do not get smaller. I’m on for a winner. 1/8/24 I just ordered lemon rice and lamb. Rogan Josh have to say I was disappointed the Rogan Josh did not have much flavour and the lemon rice was just overcooked. I will give them one more go and if the food comes back like today then I’m afraid I won’t use them anymore. (Brighton Curry) I hope you read your reviews. Listen to your customers.

Have been there numerous times. Took my nephew there recently too to try indian classics for the first time, he was too amazed by the quality, quantity and affordable prices of the food we ordered. Gets packed within minutes. Highly recommended!

We had the Dosa, which I haven't had since I was in India over twenty years ago - it was great. Friendly service and lovely little restaurant with a great atmosphere. We were there early and it was quite quiet, but by the time we left around 18:30 it was filling up, which is great for a Sunday evening

The Punjabi curry was really sweet, we specifically instructed not to make it sweet but it was not edible at all. The quantity was good but only if you can eat whatever was given to you. The staff was friendly and chatty. The location and interior was good but at the end customer pays for good food specially when away from home.

Celebrated a birthday here today - the food was delicious as always and the guys went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They had put balloons and decorated the table and even brought out a cake with candles on for the birthday boy! We were all blown away by their generosity and thoughtfulness. They made my friends day feel really special. Everyone was astounded by the quality of food too. We left terribly full and with boxes filled with delicious leftovers. I just had an AMAZING dinner here, full of flavor and scents of delicious spices. Wow! I love Indian food and this was one of the best I ever had! We just had a takeaway and the food was delicious! Had their meal deal with the chicken chetinad and then an additional paneer curry, a portion of the fish starter and peshwari naan. This was plenty of food for two people. It was all fresh, well spiced and really tasty. Every dish had its own flavour and the peshwari naan was one of the best I’ve had for ages - light, fluffy and not too sweet. Will definitely order again!

It is just next to Brighton beach so pop in to have some delicious indian food. We have ordered 5 chicken dum biriyani and with side chicken drum sticks both we good. Not like authentic and super delicious but it is good. The very disappointing thing is we have found many black pepper in the as a south part indian we have very great emotions with the biriyani so hyderbadi may be bit disappointed just because of black pepper but as taste it okay. We also ordered some drink with that. Waiters was very polite and very good customer service.

Stumbled across this place by accident. The universe loves us, food was absolutely amazing, never had an Indian that good. Why was there only two couples in there for the lunch menu. Amazing value. When entering I felt this warm welcome. The music and the smell was amazing and the manager had just a kind heart. When the food came it smelt amazing. The first bite enlightened my soul, my eyes became wide and full of joy. The flavours , omg mind blowing. The services was 10/10, the son of the manager had great jokes and gave a great experience. Best food in my life, I’ll say again best food I’ve eaten. Every time I come to Brighton I will eat here. Beautiful!!!

If you love proper indian masala chai, this is the only place I have found in Brighton! Oh, and the food was so good I snaffled it all up before I could take a picture 😅

Love the décor and colours, all contrasts really well, lovely management, food was amazing, especially the fish curry I had, as well as how it came presented with other little foods etc. If you're in Brighton and love a good curry, highly recommend this place. Fantastic food and service. Also funny that the manager told me I was the only person who ever finished their meal in whole, I do find that hard to believe however my stomach is a black hole when it comes to food and curries are always up there as my favourites haha.

This is a total gem, really amazing food i can teccomend the cauliflower starter and the lollipop chicken - the masala chai is also a winnner, We have 3 curries all were great. Check it out.

The staff are really friendly and will do their very best to help you enjoy your visit. The onion and spinach bhaji starter was super, I thought it was a bit expensive until I saw the size of the portion. The wife and I both had a chicken Chetinad, to be honest neither of us enjoyed it that much. Huge chunks of dry chicken, some of which looked I barely recognised as chicken, in a thin peppery gravy. Not at all "fresh and authentic" in my opinion as mentioned in other reviews. They also forgot the wife's aloo jeera. The rice and nan were very good but they shouldn't be the "stars of the show". I wish I had gone vegetarian as I am sure it would have been a completely different story.
