Brighton Curry in Brighton and Hove

It was been a while since I had a curry and naan last time but it was one of my best curry restaurants! I’ll come back :))

A very lovely Indian restaurant in Brighton. The food was delicious, well priced and had very large portion sizes. The service was very friendly and helpful for food suggestions. The restaurant is very bright and colourful and a joy to be in. Had a fantastic dinner here!

This indian restaurant is definitely an underrated one in Brighton. Inside is a homey place with beautiful decorations, perfect for any occasion. Each curry is served with rice/naan and a side (usually a dal). This is a tradition in Indian food culture which adds to the authenticity of this place. Going here will definitely provide you with a full dining experience. I highly recommend! Their nepalese dumplings are also to die for. Will definitely be coming back!

Delicious Indian food! Beats a lot of the more expensive options in Brighton. A lot of vegan options and friendly staff.

This was a very lucky discovery. It had been a very wet day, 21st October. We didn't want to go too far, and as this restaurant was rated 4.5, we thought, why not. Great decision!! Starter, just the poppadoms and pickles, excellent. Mains, I had lamb, my partner, mushroom, and chickpea curry. Brilliant flavours, but stupidly, I asked to spice it up. Very hot, but I ate it all. I would eat here again, just wish this restaurant could be moved to Maidstone, where we live and I would never cook again.

Staff are friendly and focused on customer service. Starters were amazing. Mains were good. Busy little restaurant with a great atmosphere.

Nearly a 5* for the food, we had 4 thalis which were all very good. It was only the potatoes and cost of the 'nibbles' which were only the poppadoms (4 of us) and 3 small dips £9.50!!! We'll definitely go again and now know what to refrain from to keep the cost down.

I ordered Mughalai veg biryani. It was awesome and good quqntity. Two can eat. So, plan accordingly. 😀 Staff was very friendly.

One of the best Indian meals I’ve ever eaten, and the waiter recommended a perfect wine to go with it. The service was also great, the waiter was pleasant and attentive.

Visiting because recommended by couple of friends so already booked a table as i heard they busy. Very nice Indian curry place for both vegetarian and non vegetarians. I like the striking yellow colour of the front and colourful interior inside. Great service and so delicious food. Everything was top class and thanks to their chef. Now Brighton Curry is one of my favourite place. One of us was vegetarians so glad to have a lot of options for everyone. delicious curry options for all kind of customers. Highly recommend and sure coming back soon.

Jeera aloo ( just tempered with jeera ) palak paneer chewy paneer and lack of palak in it, someone suggested me order from Brighton curry but it was the worthless and tasteless meal I ever had.

We had the veg Thali. Wow the food was delicious and the staff were delightful. Such a great place to eat. We will definitely go again.

Lovely food and very kind staff. Currently I have some quite severe dietary restrictions for medical reasons and ordered a custom dish. The staff were very accommodating and respectful. It is greatly appreciated 🙏.

Use Google Map to find this highly rated restaurant near the hotel and give it a try. Really satisfied with the result, the menu is easy to read, each dish has descriptions, and the food is delicious. The staff were very friendly. They found out that it was my birthday and gave me a little surprise. Thank you very much. They were not very busy that day, so I took a photo with them as a souvenir. I will visit again next time I'm in Brighton.

Brighton Curry is an absolute find. We walked past and saw the catching exterior, bright beautiful colours. We walked in and heard fantastic fun authentic Indian tunes. The staff were so kind and accommodating. The stand out for this restaurant was the food. Absolutely amazing. Delicious, great size and price. Thank you for looking after us. We will be back.

On the vacation of my friends birthday, we planed to go to a beach near by us, so we planed to go to Brighton beach, the beach experience was soo good and we had a very good time over there. After we all done with beach we went to a restaurant named Brighton Currys – Indian Curry Restaurant which is near to beach and we ordered multiple of orders like Chicken lollipop, chicken dum biryani, and etc.. The taste was not so great and we ordered extra spicy but not spicy and the employs are not good in there hospitality, there service was very slow and have a bit off attitude on there faces and we didn’t feel good with there service. Bad experience with there service and the food was OKAY not great, but you can try once..

Visited at lunchtime on a Thursday and were greeted by a very friendly member of staff. We opted for the lunch special which was amazing and very reasonably priced. The food was delicious and very generous. We will be visiting again next time we are in Brighton, can highly recommend!

This will be the second time I’ve used this place, I ate in there then several days I ordered on one of the food apps and it was delicious. I will continue to use this place as long as the food stays at the same quality and portion sizes. Do not get smaller. I’m on for a winner. 1/8/24 I just ordered lemon rice and lamb. Rogan Josh have to say I was disappointed the Rogan Josh did not have much flavour and the lemon rice was just overcooked. I will give them one more go and if the food comes back like today then I’m afraid I won’t use them anymore. (Brighton Curry) I hope you read your reviews. Listen to your customers.

Have been there numerous times. Took my nephew there recently too to try indian classics for the first time, he was too amazed by the quality, quantity and affordable prices of the food we ordered. Gets packed within minutes. Highly recommended!

We had the Dosa, which I haven't had since I was in India over twenty years ago - it was great. Friendly service and lovely little restaurant with a great atmosphere. We were there early and it was quite quiet, but by the time we left around 18:30 it was filling up, which is great for a Sunday evening

The Punjabi curry was really sweet, we specifically instructed not to make it sweet but it was not edible at all. The quantity was good but only if you can eat whatever was given to you. The staff was friendly and chatty. The location and interior was good but at the end customer pays for good food specially when away from home.

Celebrated a birthday here today - the food was delicious as always and the guys went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They had put balloons and decorated the table and even brought out a cake with candles on for the birthday boy! We were all blown away by their generosity and thoughtfulness. They made my friends day feel really special. Everyone was astounded by the quality of food too. We left terribly full and with boxes filled with delicious leftovers. We will all be back over and over again! Thankyou so much Brighton curry!

I just had an AMAZING dinner here, full of flavor and scents of delicious spices. Wow! I love Indian food and this was one of the best I ever had! Avoid. Ordered twice in one evening. Both times our food has arrived spilled everywhere and inedible.

We just had a takeaway and the food was delicious! Had their meal deal with the chicken chetinad and then an additional paneer curry, a portion of the fish starter and peshwari naan. This was plenty of food for two people. It was all fresh, well spiced and really tasty. Every dish had its own flavour and the peshwari naan was one of the best I’ve had for ages - light, fluffy and not too sweet. Will definitely order again!

Very fresh, tasty and original as there are options I tried that were not on a traditional menu. IE chaat. Highly recommend.

Not that expected and it's very expensive like a biryani 16 pounds and not satisfied with the quantity it's not even sufficient to one. Worth kadhu varma.

It is just next to Brighton beach so pop in to have some delicious indian food. We have ordered 5 chicken dum biriyani and with side chicken drum sticks both we good. Not like authentic and super delicious but it is good. The very disappointing thing is we have found many black pepper in the as a south part indian we have very great emotions with the biriyani so hyderbadi may be bit disappointed just because of black pepper but as taste it okay. We also ordered some drink with that. Waiters was very polite and very good customer service.

Stumbled across this place by accident. The universe loves us, food was absolutely amazing, never had an Indian that good. Why was there only two couples in there for the lunch menu. Amazing value. You have to treate yourself to food of this quality. Great friendly attentive service to go with spectacular food

When entering I felt this warm welcome. The music and the smell was amazing and the manager had just a kind heart. When the food came it smelt amazing. The first bite enlightened my soul, my eyes became wide and full of joy. The flavours , omg mind blowing. The services was 10/10, the son of the manager had great jokes and gave a great experience. Best food in my life, I’ll say again best food I’ve eaten. Every time I come to Brighton I will eat here. Beautiful!!!

If you love proper indian masala chai, this is the only place I have found in Brighton! Oh, and the food was so good I snaffled it all up before I could take a picture 😅

Love the décor and colours, all contrasts really well, lovely management, food was amazing, especially the fish curry I had, as well as how it came presented with other little foods etc. If you're in Brighton and love a good curry, highly recommend this place. Fantastic food and service. Also funny that the manager told me I was the only person who ever finished their meal in whole, I do find that hard to believe however my stomach is a black hole when it comes to food and curries are always up there as my favourites haha.

This is a total gem, really amazing food i can teccomend the cauliflower starter and the lollipop chicken - the masala chai is also a winnner, We have 3 curries all were great. Check it out.

The staff are really friendly and will do their very best to help you enjoy your visit. The onion and spinach bhaji starter was super, I thought it was a bit expensive until I saw the size of the portion. The wife and I both had a chicken Chetinad, to be honest neither of us enjoyed it that much. Huge chunks of dry chicken, some of which looked I barely recognised as chicken, in a thin peppery gravy. Not at all "fresh and authentic" in my opinion as mentioned in other reviews. They also forgot the wife's aloo jeera. The rice and nan were very good but they shouldn't be the "stars of the show". We took refuge from a torrential downpour in here yesterday. And how glad we were that we did. The reasonably priced Indian street food was perfectly prepared, cooked and tasty. The service was extremely welcoming, unfussy and polite and the surroundings were beautifully bright and comfortable with some atmospherically folky decoration. And to top all that it was dog friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

We stumbled upon this place by chance when the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed and it feels like divine intervention. The food is made to order so it’s perfectly fresh, tender and bursting with flavour. The service is next level attentive, warm and friendly. The pace at which the food came out (popadoms, starters and main) was perfect - efficient but not rushed, you can really enjoy your meal and conversation. The wine was surprisingly good, and everything was so reasonably priced. This is our new favourite spot and we will be bringing everyone we know.

The peanut sauce was EVERYWHERE but mostly on the bottom of the bag which was seconds away from collapsing. I have evidence photos before I even touched the food. I can’t comment on the peanut sauce as there was none available to put on the food. The lid to the raita was also not sealed - luckily it had not fallen over. I was excited to try this food and what I had of it, was indeed delicious. The mess it made was truly unsatisfactory. It could have been hotter, but a driver was unavailable. When he became available he was clearly in an almighty rush … however my food had stood waiting and I had to take several minutes to sort it out before I could eat it. Overall, I would not order from this delivery company again.

Delicious food, generous starter portions, smaller varied menu with authentic dishes, nice change from the standard menu. Nice friendly service. Tables close together, seating not that comfortable, lot of plastic decorations. Had a Groupon deal but felt a bit ripped off as the prices were very fair anyway.

Went here got the first time what a lovely curry house very cute and quirky little restaurant. Food was just like mum used to make . Waitress was lovely and the owner was very nice and friendly chatted to us for a while x will defo come back next time I visit xx

We walked past and made a mental note to come back after a drink and I am glad we did. Everyone was really happy with the food and the service and that almost never happens these days. We couldn’t fault the food and there was more than enough in a main for a hungry person. We left vowing to try it again soon. We might try the dosas as they looked fabulous.

Wow - what a great place this is. Went in for lunch on a miserable Tuesday in February, which was made very much less miserable in short order. I was greeted by a very friendly server and directed to a seat in this modern restaurant. I ordered from a splendid and unique menu and was shortly thereafter presented with the most beautifully laid out and extremely delicious Murgh Makhani and poppadoms. This is not your run-of-the-mill Anglicised Indian restaurant - this is a bit special. Excellence all around.

Fantastic Indian food that really reminds us of being in India. Masala dhosa, fish curry, grilled chicken and paneer with pineapple all delicious. If these guys were in the middle of town they would out-compete Chilli Pickle and Indian Summer... as it is, well worth the trip to Kemp Town, friendly authentic and good value.

Food was good except the palak paneer. Obviously no spinach was available so a very brightly coloured green fluid was substituted. Why not contact the customer and discuss the situation? Poor

Came across this kitchen as I was staying in The Twenty One guest house in Charlotte st and they recomended also the bar staff at sidewinder and other locals so the popadoms so crispy fresh the three pickles I can honestly say were the best I've tasted . The North Indian dumplings and sauce was very tasty and my main The Lamb Vindaloo was cooked to perfection the sauce was so balanced with flavour then heat got to be in my top 3 and I've eaten this dish all over the world in the last 40 years inc India. Rice delicious the peshwari naan again outstanding,a delicious array of expertly freshly prepared North Indian Street food served by a lovely super friendly waitress where nothing was to much trouble and the passionate owner along with the Head Host happy to explain the nuances of the flavours and proud to explain where the food comes from .From start to finish all in all an unplanned visit resulting in a great Experiance coukdnt recomend more highly .

Lovely food and service. Prices include accompaniments (usually two, which can be rice, naan, dahl, chutneys) so no extra for rice etc. Great selection and plenty of vegan and veggie options. Delicious! Also good selection of beers (Cobra on draught), spirits and wine.

Cute little Indian restaurant has a nice, delightful vibe which matches with the really friendly owner — giving the place an authentic feel. The food was really tasty, especially the naan, which was incredible, my friend even ordered more for takeaway! And the owner's kid was super cute:) I ordered the vegetarian thali, and my friend got the grill plate with lots of different meats. The menu has all dietary preferences, offering an extensive selection for vegetarians, vegans, and meat enthusiasts. The overall experience was perfect, with everything from the atmosphere to the food fitting together perfectly. Definitely will come back again!

We ate here last night and were very happy! Great food, friendly service. The most authentic Indian food in Brighton. Love that they use chicken thigh for the tikka, it’s much juicier than breast, which most restaurants use.

I ate here after taking some codeine to help with my headache, I was so chilled out (and a little slow). I stumbled over to look at the menu and a man (I forgot your name, I'm sorry x) came out to invite me in. He was super sweet and stayed with me until he took my order. The food came really quick, I hardly had time to read my book. To start with I had these poppadoms with 3 different chutneys - I ended up asking for extra poppadoms because I couldn't let any chutney go to waste. I wasn't even charged for a refill, which was very generous. Shortly after I finished that first bowl of poppadams, the main came. It was a mushroom and chickpea curry, and it was just right.The range of flavour on display was as colours as the decorations around the restaurant. I enjoyed sitting back and looks around to spot all the pleasantries. I ended up eating everything up as a reasonable place and it stuffed me up - had no space left for dessert. I knew that the only outcome after this would be getting into bed and passing out after a long day at work. As I was leaving I looked over the menu and noticed jasmine tea right above the desserts. I had a good gadge on my appetite, so I knew I couldn't handle a starter, but I know there was a great selection waiting to be explored. Now I have a reason to come back. Fantastic place to pop into in Kemptown at a fair price x

Very much not a standard BIR type place. Food was extremely tasty and individually cooked. We were the only people in there on a Monday, but it looked busier when we walked past on Tuesday. Very friendly owner who was happy to chat.

We went on a cold and quiet Monday evening in January (hence the 4 stars!) and ordered two thalis with veggie curries plus mango lassis. It was all very filling including the lassis! Good tasty food at an average price. Service was very friendly and quick. Would recommend and will definitely return!
