Didn't eat a proper meal at this place however had coffee and a cake. Stunning little place, lovely view, service was decent and the staff friendly. If I stayed locally, it certainly would be on my radar as a regular spot to grab a lunch/coffee catch up with family and friends.

Have been a regular here over the years, but the last three times, the service has been terrible (we hoped we had been unlucky the first twice). The place appears to have too few staff for the numbers coming in (certainly over lunch). Staff appear to be stressed, which comes across in the way they interact with customers. We sat for half an hour before someone took our order, and 2 staff members told us it was someone else's role. When our order came, we reminded the server that one of the party wanted a cup of tea with their lunch. Despite another reminder to a member of staff, the tea didn't come. The food and the view are no longer enough to make me want to go back.

The sandwiches are ENORMOUS!!! This is their mainstay. Yet to try the rest of the menu but looking forward to it. The prices at firs glance are expensive, £8 for a sandwich, but what a sandwich!!! Get a side of parmesan fries for £3.50 and you'll not need feeding for the rest of the day. The staff are some of the friendliest I have ever encountered and are so attentive if you have a question. I'd happily give Bridgeview 10 stars if I could.

I was in for brunch yesterday with my friend who was parshily blind. When my friend asked the waitresses where the toilet was the waitresses pointed to a wall and said just through there, when I pointed out my friend was blind she carried on pointing to the wall saying in there. After we placed our order the same waitress served up out food, and she left a hot pot of tea on the corner of the table beside my friend which could have easily caused a very bad accident. After we finished what we had order I had to go looking for the waitress to ask for 2 coffees, which she brought to us and only left all the dirty dishes on the table. I eventually had to ask for the table to be cleared as I did not want my friend to knock and thing over. We will not be back to your establishment any time soon

Came in for breakfast this morning with my family, prices expensive for what you're given, a lovely place but 4 pounds for a lorne roll, which only had 1 thin slice on it that covered 2 thirds of the roll which was dry with butter on it, extra item 2 pounds per item l, dad had bacon roll 2 slices of bacon quite fatty on a dry roll he left half, again 4 pounds, coffee was nice 2.50 for a small cup that was finished before roll arrived, not our cup of tea and will be sticking to Invergowrie cafe that is very good.

Remarkably poor food, ambiance, service…. Evening Christmas menu. Firstly the food: a flat shop bought pastry case with tiny frozen prawns followed by tiny portions of cold turkey on mediocre veg (cold plate) and Tesco own brand stick toffee pub with a micro scoop of ice cream. Next ambiance: cold, bare (no table decoration/crackers, clinical lighting, empty and cold). Service: slow and disinterested - no wonder they are empty! Pricing: the on line menu shows you are overpaying (you can’t get to the £28/£35 they charge for 2/3 courses….) with no extras at all! No coffee and mince pies/ crackers/ bread even. Honestly though it wasn’t the price it was the letdown food - rest of menu: my husband had chewy steak, the fish is coley (!!). We were there on the last Friday before Christmas and it was empty - one other table!speaks volumes. Avoid

Had always wanted to eat here, so stopped off unexpectantly. 1st disappointment was my own fault I had assumed you ate in in the blacked out carriage. We arrived at approx 11.15am and as we were led to our table, the waiter said lunch menu dosent start until 12. Which we took to mean it was still breakfast menu- what he meant was we couldn't order a meal until 12. We gould order drinks and a cake ? Anyway as we left I went to buy 2x cans of Fanta @£2.50 each. I was quietly you'd they were cheaper next door in the old carriage take away. Very disappointed.

The lunch I had was disappointing - I had the veg platter, , the humous was grainy and tasteless, certainly no hint of coriander or lemon described on the menu. Not sure what the beetroot was marinated in, but soggy, olives also soggy, and not fresh. This was a shame as I have eaten her previously and food was good. Also do not think I metre distancing between seats being observed, it was very noisy so everyone had raised voices, and I noticed one waitress with her mask down off her nose... not good considering current positive test numbers in Dundee.

Lovely looking restaurant with good views, lots of outdoor seating of the weather is appropriate. One staff member seemed wasn’t wearing her mask properly, how can you not know it’s not covering your nose, I do not know... surely a manager should her keeping staff in check....the restaurant and toilets look to be kept very clean. We ordered our drinks and food, and various waitresses wanted to take the menu away from the table, but we insisted on keeping it as it we knew we were wanting to later order a dessert... I can’t say we weren’t suspicious that they were trying to hurry us along so they could get away from work (we know we were on the last sitting at 5pm).I ordered a steak burger with beef chilli and cheddar cheese, when it came it wasn’t what I ordered, I know as soon as I saw it, and I said that’s not chilli...The waitress tried to tell me that it was in fact chilli. I said that looks like onions to me... no no it’s chilli, it’s got chilli on it. I said it’s not what I thought I was getting, and referred back to the menu... I wanted the beef chilli and cheese... this looks like onion jam and cheese..... oh I don’t think we have that she replied! I was like right...Do you not want this? I no, it’s not what I ordered... ok I will take it back to the kitchen and will see what they can do...My husband didn’t want to start his meal without me. The waitress came back and apologised and blamed it in miscommunication! Which really added insult to injury! Not sure how beef chilli and cheese can be miscommunicated to be onion jam and cheese on my behalf.... my burger came back after 5 minutes, I said to my husband there’s no way they have redone the burger, however it looked more like what I had expected (slightly stingy on the beef chilli I must add) I started to eat the burger and realised there was no cheese on it... I got the waitress attention again, and explained there was now no cheese... she said oh has he forgotten to put the cheese on it... Getting frustrated with the situation, I asked if they could just kindly bring the cheese out for me, and would just put it on myself.... which she did and apologised... after our early dinner we ordered desserts, I ordered sweet brioche with rhubarb sorbet and creme anglais... my dessert arrived looking like a piece of toast with small scoop of sorbet on top of it, and a small dollop of poached rhubarb... there was no creme anglais... I nearly gave up and didn’t say anything, but it was dry and rhubarb tart, it was missing the sweet element, so I spoke to the waitress again and explained... after 5 minutes she returned with a small cold dish of creme anglais... Staff don’t seem understand what they are serving to customers, nor do they understand how to handle things when things are wrong! Burger gate was ridiculous! It should have been returned to the kitchen without fuss, and scraping the onion jam of the brioche bun shows a chef/kitchen staff with no pride in their work.We had a 5pm sitting and it really felt like everyone couldn’t really be bothered. When the bill arrived, it detailed onion jam and cheese on the receipt, assuming the waitress inputted the burger toppings wrongly on their Epos system from the off, and this is why the kitchen didn’t get it right... My husbands burger was fine, followed by a cheese platter, he enjoyed the cheeses. We decided the award winning chef was probably nowhere to be seen when we visited. Would we return? Probably not, good quality food when it’s right, but service was not good...

Popped in on the off chance of a quick bite during a break in shopping. Quickly seated and order taken by attentive staff. Meals arrived quickly and were excellent. My wife and daughter had ordered filled sandwiches which were huge and very tasty. i had the local fish with potato chips also excellent and sufficient. The coffees that we had ordered did not arrive with the meals and had to remind the waitress about them. She was most apologetic and on going to pay our bill I was informed that as the coffees had been delayed we would not be charged for them along with another apology. Lesson in customer service for other places to note. If you are in Dundee this place is well worth a visit.

This restaurant has excellent, friendly and helpful waiting staff and a nice bistro ambience but tries to serve fine dining style dishes that are totally incongruent with the establishment. My wife’s turkey and stuffing roll (much more elaborately described in the menu) was dry and quite tough and the half dozen outer leaves from Brussels sprouts scattered it were an apology for vegetables. In contrast my fish and chips from the “classic menu” was precisely what it said. Pretty average fish but at least congruent with the style of the restaurant. With an excellent location, good premises and great staff it has a lot of what it needs to be a great place to eat. Concentrate on honest bistro style food and it would be set up for success.

We went here for lunch because of the good review rating. The hot food menu choices were pretty limited so I had battered fish and chips. The fish was greasy (not an uncommon problem but unappealing) and the handmade chips were overdone and also very greasy. We had to ask for vinegar and sauce to make them more palatable. The staff were surly and the decor a bit stark, and the background noise from such a room full of echoes was unpleasant too. I also got ignored st the counter when I went to pay the bill. The only nice thing was the view of the River Tay and the railway bridge. We've eaten in many cafes and restaurants across the UK and around the world, and I cannot understand why this restaurant gets such good reviews. We wont be back.

Not quite understanding why, given it was a Monday so the restaurant was not going to be serving evening meals, nor was it very busy and we couldn't imagine a sudden rush of people to take them through to closing at 6, the waitress just insisted we had to leave after an hour. When my scone arrived, it was heated and on a saucer. When I apologetically said I hadn't realised it would be heated and could I have just a cold one, and on a plate please, the waitress scooped up the scone, only to return with a solitary scone on a large dinner plate, as if to make some sort of point? And that was the service - no checking to see if we wanted any more tea or coffee or anything. We felt very unwelcome, certainly did not leave the waitress a tip, and after always meeting up at the Bridgeview Station restaurant, will now go elsewhere, be it for a mere coffee and scone, or an actual meal. Disappointing.

robust tea provided. Great menu for breakfast and lovely views. staff were excellent. All the young girls were smartly presented, smiling and very efficient. How lucky for the owners to have such great waitresses!

Absolutely fantastic fish and chips! Restaurant was a little chilly but another table mentioned it and the heating was turned up. Nice, polite staff. Was busy but we didn’t have to wait long for our food. Wasn’t offered dessert but probably just as well after the lovely plate of fish and chips we’d devoured. Beautiful view from the restaurant too.

Arrived just after one o clock on a Sunday. Very busy but had a table for two. Both had homemade burger with rooster chips. Very tasty.

While visiting Dundee we wanted a "proper" breakfast (i.e. not a bulk standard Premier Inn one).

I think the Bridgeview Station is the best breakfast in Dundee. My wife & I often go there and have the full Scottish breakfast.Definitely 10/10 for both food and service.

My mum & I ordered 1 sandwiches which we shared. We got the peri peri chicken one (wouldn't recommend) and the ham with red onion jam. Oh my goodness. The latter sandwich was to die for - I've genuinely not stopped thinking about it.

Waiting over a hour for 3 fish and chips and a kids meal. Kids eat free apart from being charged almost £5 for a kids bowl of ice cream. Gone for a 5⭐experience to a 1⭐ in a couple of years.

Was looking forward to a Fish Supper, as food is cooked to order one would think it would be nice crisp and tasty. Food was very bland, tastless and dry in batter, not impressed would not hurry back.

Decided to come in for something quick to eat took me a while to get served (not a big deal) I asked the woman that came to my table where the bathroom was and she told me where I got up to walk there
