Bridge in Manchester

Place is always bouncing, singer on after 5 pm on weekends very good and sings all the favourites, good selection of beers and great bar service.

Brilliant on Saturday nights, great music!

Bar staff are unobservant and rude. Been here before, not sure I'll bother again.

Quiet when we visited but staff great. Friendly and helpful. Nice inside. Loads of space.

Review edited August 2024: Dropping to 3 stars as they have put their prices up a silly amount, an 60p increase for a lager overnight is outright stupid. Used to frequent here quite a bit, but won't anymore.

Great staff, lovely interior design

A traditional average pub just off Deansgate, Manchester. Nothing of significance to comment on just average in every way. Basic in decor, feels like a place you call in for 1 drink then move on, I wouldn't want to linger. We had good service but it was very quiet. £12.60 for a pint of Timothy Holt Landlord and a medium glass of Zinfandel, seems expensive but it is in Manchester City Center.

Love this pub, been when they have live music & when it's quiet in the week. Staff are lovely & friendly and the atmosphere is great

Decent pub! Excellent atmopshere!! Downstairs is more of a bar than a pub, with upstairs being a cool chill out area to play pool! A second pool table wouldn't go amiss. Staff are pleasant and toilets are okay. Sadly, one of the beer glasses we had was filthy with unwashed lipstick on.

Really nice trendy looking bar with nice staff. Just happened its been absolutely empty both times I've been to it this calendar year hence the 1* atmosphere - So before any owners send defensive passive aggressive replies you cant counter - It might be a wonderful place but unfortunately the 2 times Ive been in 2024 its been empty

Nice friendly service and we were here for a stag weekend with this being the life drawing class, with the stag as the model........ 🤣 It was a great event and we all loved it. Very tastefully done with us all coming away with great sketches and memories. Our drawings (5 No each) are going to be utilised for the wedding party. It was surprising how artistic we all were when none of us were ever arty at school or since. The art master was very helpful and attentive, plus the bar staff downstairs were pleasant and friendly throughout. Definitely worth a visit

Busy, great for after work drinks

Went in on Saturday 18th November around 2pm. There was a stroppy looking young flustered lady and very tired looking frustrated young man with a half-goaty serving at the bar. I waited and waited (and still waited 😐) for the young man as he ignored me to serve his idea of the "usual clientele" (heil brexit Nigel) and after he finished serving them, he still decided to leave me standing as the only person waiting at the bar (waiting and waiting and waiting.....) and then he started cleaning up behind the bar in his usual half-lazy, half bothered manner (I'd been there so long I almost felt I knew him as my worst idea for knowing a person). I tried to boldly go where no other "usual" paying client had probably needed to go before and asked if I could possibly get a drink and he seemed emotional and upset and told me to wait. 😞 Fine. Okey..... eventually I got a pint and a prosecco for my wife. But what an odious toxic attitude by lazy manks! Meanwhile the young robust girl who had been ignoring me behind the bar went up to a couple of young guys who walked in and asked them if they wanted a drink. Staff perhaps a bit special? Who cares. I pay and want a pint so forget this place of moody staff.

Been here a few times over the years. Good traditional pub opened out to one large through room. Outside seating in the back yard. We were only customers on a wet afternoon. Two Taylor's beers on handpump. Landlord and Boltmaker. Albrech ordered Boltmaker. A good pint. The Madri was poor. A few customers started to roll in as evening drew in.

Always a friendly atmosphere and great service. One of my wife and I favour pubs to visit

Great pub for after work drinks. Large function room up top which would easily hold 50. There's pretty much always someone on playing guitar. It's great for after work drinks in and around spinningfields.

Always have a great night here with the girls are first pub before we hit the clubs a really great place every onefriendly and great staff get yourself down there for a dance with great music from the 70s right through till the updated love it here

Good pub and nice layout, pool table upstairs as well as a dart board. It also features a nice little smoking terrace upstairs. Connor, the bartender is a very nice and friendly guy. Reasonably priced drinks too. Definitely worth a visit. Plays good music which is also much appreciated. One of my go to pubs in the city centre.

Been going in this place for years with my family and friends today two young girls were amazing left your place and came back few hours later and two young lads were serving my friend was quite loud dye to having tourettes she was told to shut up and sit down I polite said I was sorry but it's her birthday and she was having a great time also where does it say people with tourettes not allowed he said not allowed in my pub I know its not he's pub shocking behaviour will never ever go back also I am going to leave a bad review on social media

Only went in for drinks on a busy Saturday night. Good bar service.

Where has the old Bridge gone? Used to be fab, especially on a Friday and Saturday night with a DJ that played soul music It used to be packed with everyone dancing. Totally now changed to a live music venue with a guitarist playing ‘cheesy’ music. If you like live music then it’s okay but I think the pub as it used to be was far better.

Went in on a Friday night and the live guitarist was excellent, go and see him if you're a fan of live music and I hope the bridge give him more gigs

The refurbishment from my last visit has changed the market it had. Only time will tell if it was a good decision.

Very rude bouncer... Had been for a meal down the road and we were looking for somewhere to go for a drink after. We walked past and it sounded like they had live music on. My friend had a bag with her as she had just finished work and the bouncer was really looking through it - not sure what he expected to find. She also had a wine bag with an unopened cork top bottle of wine in (birthday gift) and he said we couldn't come in with it. Ridiculous! We hadn't planned to whack out a corkscrew and drink the gifted wine!! We didn't come in so can only base the rating on the experience we had but if the venue chooses to have bouncers like that then it unfortunately paints a picture of the whole place as they are they first people you have contact with.

Traditional pub, but no real ale or bitter.

Made a table order for a couple of drinks. 15 mins later, went to find out what was going on. Saw my table order hanging out of the printing machine with the staff not making any attempt to deal with table orders. Waited another 10 mins to try and get served and gave up entirely. Avoid this place if you can!

Unsure who runs this place now but standards have gone down since I last visited . Had to ask for the table to be cleaned , and there was no loo roll or soap in the ladies loo despite us being in the middle of a pandemic 😷 My brother ordered a pint of Strongbow and the waitress brought a pint of Dark Fruit and was told that’s all they had - no consultation beforehand . Hope things improve soon

Nice aesthetic, has good character and a roof terrace. Just a shame the beers selection wasn't very good and the music was a bit in your face pop music.

Came in on spec. Felt more than a bit sorry for the the guy who was single handedly manning the bar. No hand pull ales on in a pub I have, admittedly, not visited for at least a couple of years. It used to be a proper city centre proper pub but appears to be uncertain of exactly what it is and who it caters for. The lad serving was really good but it was very quiet (on a Thursday night about 8pm and no football). Good selection of gins available and very well presented but....

The staff went out of there way to get zero orange for me, Thank you x

Great Staff and Great Venue. We hired the upstairs function area for 30 people the Saturday evening before Christmas. Had two long tables set up in the room which also had its own private terrace, music system and plenty of extra space. We had a three course meal, wine and drinks which was great. Drinks well priced and staff more than happy to accommodate us during the evening. Would recommend to those also looking for a private space for a party / group meal in Manchester.

What a night to remember I wish all public houses were like the Bridge Tavern. Very busy place, drinks at a good price served by great bar staff. The music was right for our age group the place was rocking. Everybody in there was having a ball. All the customers were so friendly no animosity all night. Cheers for a good night.

Great little gem right in the heart of spinning fields, amazing quality for money food, the staff are great and very friendly would certainly recommend this pub for a refuel stop whilst shopping and kid friendly too ... Will definitely be returning to this one!
