Yikes. Looked good, ordered two sandwiches to go which I thought were pricy at £8 EACH. Tried to charge me £18. Where I come from 2x8=16 but the lady said 'well thats what it says on the screen'. Genius, I bet NASA want her back when she's finished at the Café. The supposed 'country cheddar and ale chutney' was in fact wholesaler grated cheddar and a tiny scraping of nondescript chutney. These offerings made Greggs cheese and pickle taste like gourmet crafted treats. Came with a bag of crips, the choices were salted or salt and vinegar. No other flavour exists. Confused staff, over priced, overrated. Not everyone is an American tourist folks!

We had a wonderful Afternoon tea at Corn craft. There were delicious sandwiches, cakes and cheese scones as well as fruit scones with jam and cream. Everything was served on beautiful cake stands together with pretty bone china cups and saucers. The service was first class, tea was refilled without asking and staff wanted to make sure we you had an enjoyable experience, we certainly did thank you! For us this outshines some Afternoon teas we have had at four and five star hotels. Well done Corn craft and we look forward to a return visit.

Well should of been for lunch, stood near the door to wait to be seated and then abruptly asked had we booked. Umm no we have just driven 40 miles . Apparently no tables yet there clearly was, so if you wish to eat there remember to book, not that we did on a previous visit. Very expensive now too, so shall not return

I have visited Corn Craft twice this month with my 9 month old. Every member of staff fell over themselves to take care of us. Brilliant food and drinks, engaging and attentive throughout our visits. Very family friendly tea room (and we are BLW so alot of mess!). Our little one got a lot of attention which they loved! I would 100% reccomend a visit if you have a little one.

We always used to like to come here when we around this area. So we made the trip for lunch. To say gobsmacked at the prices was a understatement. £11 panini, £8.50 plain jacket potato. We did stop but we cant afford your prices next time, such a shame. Next day we went to down the road, much better prices.

We've been here a couple of times and always find friendly service and good food. A great place to go for cake & coffee, or on our last visit treated ourselves to high tea which gets you a nice selection for a fixed price. Our only comment is that the café does get quite hot and even with a couple of doors open it doesn't seem to help much. There is outdoor seating which seems quite popular.

Been here before and couldnt wait to take our friends for leisurely Sunday breakfast. Lovely sunny morning we arrive at 1050 and realise that last orders for breakfast are 11am(on Sunday) quickly agreed 5 large breakfast arrived at counter at1058 only to be told you cant order breakfast as its 11am! It wasnt and still had 2 minutes to go. The place was not full and I was told they had breakfasts waiting to be cooked. The young man behind the counter was unhelpful and wouldnt agree to serve us. We the left and went to Hollow Trees a mile away and the staff were helpful friendly and the breakfast was marvellous. Last orders for breakfast here 1130am.

We went for breakfast yesterday and had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The eggs were over cooked and very dry and the smallest slices of paper thin smoked salmon were just really not enough and the food looked like it had been thrown on the plate. Had mid-morning coffee and a cake which were delicious. Then we explored the garden centre, the second hand shop and the wonderful quilting shop - worth a visit on its own. When we went back to the cafe for lunch it was extremely busy but the meals came after only a short wait - one stilton ploughmans, one ham ploughmans - and they were very good. Nothing startling but I'd certainly go again. An excellent place to meet up in a lovely village and with plenty to do.

Have had many nice meals here over the years but was disappointed today. Although the staff are very friendly and the service quick we had to ask to have our table wiped over, the filter coffee was not hot enough and served with Uht cream, and although the salad was fresh the bacon in the panninies was very fatty and the cheese scone doughy and heavy, it all left a poor impression when normally things are such a high standard here, perhaps we just caught them on a bad day.

After a pleasant hour or two wandering around the shops we decided on tea and cake. We opted to sit outside as the noise from the kitchen seemed to really fill the dining area. A shade under £10 for 2 slices of chocolate cake with a cup of coffee and a pot of tea was about what I expected to pay, but we we're both very unimpressed with the chocolate cake. It was very dry and if it hadn't been for the chocolate cream filling and topping, I would not have recognised it to be chocolate on a blind taste test! On the plus side, the service was quick and friendly.

Interestingly, the three of us, independently, all settled on the mushroom soup with a big chunk of fresh white/brown bread. DELICIOUS and filling! While they were not as busy as at some times in the past, the service was timely and the soup was hot.The cappuccinos were very good and the desserts were most enjoyable. We had the Tropical Slice, and the Rocky Road Brownie looked very inviting. They also have beer and wine and a good selection of soft drinks. In addition to the restaurant, there are several card/jewellery shops, an art shop, a home shop and a wonderful plant nursery. The nearby village is very quaint and historic. All in all, it is a great place to spend a couple of hours for great dining and relaxation.

We ate here recently and enjoyed the Father Days Special Menu. This consisted of a main and sweet for £16. WE all had the Roast Beef and this was very good, really tender meat and good selection of vegetables. Roasties weren't the best (not very crispy) but quite edible. Desserts were really nice and well made. Only minor criticism was the queue time at the counter where you have to place your order but otherwise service was friendly and efficient. Afterwards you can enjoy a wander round the various small shops and plant sales on site. Worth a visit :)

I have now been here for "High Tea" with various members of my family of teenage Grand Children and their parents and each time it has been an excellent gathering with great service and great quality food which does not break the bank @ £12.50 pp.We were warmly welcomed by the friendly and efficient staff and offered a wide selection from which to choose our finger sandwiches and home made cakes as well as the home made scones, with ample butter, cream and jam. A truly pleasant place to visit with multiple options of Breakfasts, sandwiches, lunches and afternoon and High Teas. A little off the beaten track but not far from the acclaimed village of Lavenham, one of the prettiest in England and set in the relaxing surroundings of the Suffolk Countryside. The Tea Rooms are sited within the Corn Craft gift shop which offers an unusual array of Country-themed gifts, cards and art and, once again not over-priced. There is also a nice Antique shop and an Art Gallery and toy/gift shop both separate but within the complex as well as a modest garden and plant shop. I visited the Corn Craft Tea rooms for mid morning coffee with family. Before we went in the tea room we enjoyed looking round some of the other outlets on site. We popped in to the patchwork and deleting shop and workshop. They have an extensive range of patchwork materials and workshops to teach the skills required. The small garden centre has a good range of healthy looking plants. I was very tempted to buy a beautiful pink Stellata magnolia but resisted. There is also an antique and knock knack shop on site and two further outlets a gallery and card shop which we didn't visit. The Corn Craft tearoom has a wide range of gifts, cards, jewellery, bags, wrapping paper, scarves etc. As well as the goods on the cafe level there is more downstairs. They also sell the Corncraft which the tearoom is named after. The cafe provides daily newspapers. We had latte and cappuccino coffees which were served hot. Would definitely return to try the food and buy that handbag I resisted!

After lunch at Corncraft where we received good service and food, we visited "THE GALLERY". This is a new retail outlet for Bridge Farm Barns. It is a above all a craft shop specialising exclusively in items made by local people. A feast for the eyes:- paintings, china, jewellery, ornaments many of local wild life, such a change from the stock (usually made in China) found in the average gift shop. The prices seemed fair, if difficult to judge due to the originality the goods on sale. I would recommend everyone who comes to this shopping complex, visit "The Gallery". With such a wide range there should be something to please everyone.

Said they were busy as they had a " group" - we suggested they put up a chalk board in future perhaps advising if items had sold out or not available and perhaps they could have said there would have been a wait of an hour and we would have gone elsewhere - not impressed, also young lads serving just kep barging past when we were standing queing to order - no manners ! I took my parents for cream tea one Sunday afternoon. I had purchased a Groupon voucher which offered cream tea for 4 people for £9.99 which was fantastic value (half the standard price). Having never visited before I was pleasantly surprised (you never know quite what to expect from discount vouchers and I've experienced some let downs!). Set in beautiful Suffolk countryside is a thriving business that offers so much more than just a tea room. Gift shops galore selling quirky, quaint and lovely gifts; some created by local artists/crafters. For children there's a book shop and play barn. The tea rooms were busy but we had pre-booked. The cream tea was delicious. We were served 2 scones; one fruit and one plain complete with clotted cream and jam. A choice of a pot of tea or coffee was also included. The scones were warm and the cream was fresh and very tasty. Very good value and a lovely afternoon out with a nice country drive to get there! The only reason I have not rated 5 stars is because it did seem a little disorganised upon arrival. I had been told to report to the till and we would be issued our voucher there. There were about 3 different tills!! We went to the main kitchen till but were told to go to a different till. We collected our voucher and were then sent back to the kitchen till! I also found that one of the staff members appeared a little rude when we weren't sure where we should go. It wasn't just us - several other people also seemed confused and unsure! My only suggestion for improvement would be to make it clearer to customers where to go. However I would definitely go back and I know my parents already have!! Well worth a visit.

One pot of tea and one pot of coffee. All freshly prepared and presented well but could have had a few more sandwiches. Disappointed that throughout our visit that NO one at all came to ask if we would like more to drink or even if everything was ok. I love the shop that's attached to the cafe and could buy all my Xmas presents and birthday presents here for the whole year. The craft barn and toy shop is great and the antique's barn is amazing - I just wish we had a bigger house and garden so I could buy some more bits. It's well worth a visit - just make sure you have an empty tummy and car as you won't be leaving hungry or empty handed.

As a regular here, me and my friend have always enjoyed coming here, however we were treated rudely this time. we were looking at the cakes half hour before closing and to have them suddenly whipped out from in front of our eyes without even saying anything. Also we after receiving our tea we felt very rushed and uncomfortable as a comment was made out loud about us.

Had mid morning coffee and then lunch later. Soup needed some seasoning. How about warming scones, the bread, and butter ? I felt that some of the staff were a bit unfriendly and blunt which was a shame.

Have had many visits to this tea room over the years and always enjoyed it, however we called in this afternoon and we're disappointed. It wasn't busy but the tables hadn't been cleared or cleaned and when eventually a young man cleared one table and partially cleared another he made no attempt to clean them. Not the usual standard.

We recently made a visit to this Restaurant & Tea Room, although it is at the 'Bridge Farm Barn' site, it is locally known as ‘Corn Craft'. If you are a visitor to the area ,this can be a little ‘off the beaten track’, however a short ride on the Lavenham to Monks Eleigh road will quickly find the location. There are a range of shops and you can spend some considerable time browsing. The restaurant is well attended, although at times can be busy, you can normally find a table. The menu is of sufficient variety to suite most tastes; although not cheap the helpings are generous portions. They serve Breakfast, lunch, afternoon teas with a selection of homemade cakes. A nice place to browse and enjoy a cuppa!

After a break of a few years, my husband and I paid a nostalgic visit to this Restaurant & Tea Room ... at the 'Bridge Farm Barn' site, which we have always known as 'Corn Craft'. We used to go very regularly and then, well you know how it is, routines change for numerous reasons. It was nostalgic for more than the time lapse between visits ... because, you see, we feel that (in our own very little way) perhaps we did our bit to help the owner make the decision to start the venture in the first place :-) The main stay for the enterprise (in the beginning) was selling corn dollies. The Corn Dolly was originally made out of the last sheaf of corn to capture the “corn spirit” ... " "tis but a thing of straw" they say, Yet even straw can sturdy be. Plaited into doll like me. And in the days of long ago To help the seeds once more to grow I was an offering to the gods....."One weekend afternoon in 1969/70 (as a betroved couple), we passed by the gate of 'The Rise' in Monks Eleigh and saw a sign "Corn Dollies For Sale". We purchased two examples that the lady had to offer - a 'Bell (or Drop) Dolly' and a 'Neck Dolly'. Hand on heart, they both still hang in our home! They get a gentle wash every now and again but are still going strong. The 'Corn Craft' site has since developed and it now houses a small, unique selection of businesses. We were too early for lunch so just enjoyed a good cup of coffee - we would have had (what I used to call!) "the world's best" carrot cake but it was nowhere to be seen - oh dear :-( The breakfast and general menu still looks as tempting as ever so we must return when we are hungrier. So ... it is still the same but different and we must make it our business to return again, sooner rather than later. Well worth a visit ... or two, or more ... because there is a great selection of gifts, books etc - not forgetting the corn dollies.

We celebrated my sisters 50th birthday here ! We had the private function room upstairs which has recently been refurbished and it was lovely. We were allowed in early to decorate with banners and balloons. Baring in mind we were a large group and all opted for three courses the food was still all served together so we had no one waiting, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We couldn't fault it all :) A few of the family stayed and were extremely happy with rooms and the yummy breakfast :)

Requested a twin room but arrived to be shown into a double. Couldn't be changed until the following day apparently! Went down for breakfast on Saturday morning at about 8:30 (breakfast served from 8 - 10). No staff apart from the cleaner. She kindly tried to provide some tea, milk and cereals - and bread. So we made do without a cooked breakfast (included in the rate we paid). At about 9:10 a young lady appeared who offered us a cooked breakfast just as we were about to leave the restaurant. No apology. No kitchen staff. Just awful. I did get an apology from the General Manager later that day and Sunday morning breakfast was fine. Certainly won't use this hotel again.
