Very obscure on drinks' prices. It does matter. That's the only complaint though as this pub offers a good experience otherwise, even if 2x drinks cost as much as a decent bottle of wine. (It doesn't matter which drinks as I'm simply depicting a slightly negative experience).

Friendly and relaxed dining with a good range of varied dishes - the spicy chicken wings a must! Great service from Holly who was attentive and sociable. Thanks for a lovely evening!

Brilliant pub, Iz on the bar was very helpful with recommending me a craft beer and the steak sandwich was delicious!

My brother, dad and I visited the pub to do their Brewery Experience Day for the second time. We loved it just as much as the first time we did it 6 years ago. The head brewer - Keiran, was fantastic. He knew so much about brewing and manage to answer some of our more obscure questions about brewing. The time went so quickly even through we were there for 7 hours. We lost count how many beers we sampled. The beers were delicious and so was the food - with breakfast and lunch provided! Would highly recommend. We may even be back again in 6 years time...!

Booked a table for the rugby and had a great afternoon. Food and beer was excellent and the staff were super friendly and polite. We will be booking again.

Charlie was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic with the Beer and Whiskey pairing and made sure that everyone was happy and learnt about their drinks.

We have used this restaurant many times before and as always, the service was excellent, food was delicious and it was a nice quiet atmosphere. We always feel welcome here and it is one of our 'go to' places to eat when we visit Southampton.

Pub was fairly quiet, so we were positioned in the restaraunt, food & service good. Downside was a service charge ? & bar closed very early ?

I visited this establishment today and was extremely disappointed. First, they served a bang bang chicken bowl with rice that was either undercooked or several days old. I sent it back immediately, only to be told they had run out of rice (mine being the last portion) and I’d have to swap it for something ( not a lot of options so went for chips). After waiting over 30 minutes, I assumed the chicken would be freshly prepared, but what arrived was hot, fresh chips paired with dry, burned chicken. Completely unacceptable. I had to ask for a refund and won’t be returning. Very poor experience. At least the bartenders were very apologetic and offered me a drink on the house, hence not 1 ⭐ review

We had a wake here on Friday afternoon,almost twice as many people turned up from what we had expected to.. probably 50 + the staff were absolutely brilliant and the drinks kept flowing and the food was absolutely perfect for the occasion and even though we had guessed at 30 people coming there was enough food to go round.. We arrived at 1.00 p.m and I was the last to leave around 6.00 p.m so a long and very busy afternoon for all those working that shift..Thank you so very much for making what was a difficult day into a relaxed one When we are next in Southampton we will most definitely be back again.. Had a birthday party here had 10 guests. We were all served our food promptly...all food was hot and lovely. Thankyou all to the staff that served us all last night. Well done. Highly recommended.

First time here and it was lovely although gravy very thin but staff very kindly got me thicker gravy when asked I ordered a dessert which was frozen when it arrived ( after being forgotten !) but didn’t detract from liveky food offered

Our large family group had Christmas dinner here this year. Absolutely fantastic service from the booking and through to the moment we left. Food was fab and reasonably priced. Made our day. We will be back!

A very nice pub/restaurant/micro brewery for our beer and whisky pairing experience. We tasted four beers made on site and a good variety of single malts.

4 of us had a really lovely Sunday Roast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic at a decent price. The only slight downside was that it was a little chilly in there, considering there are two log fires not being used in December.

Second time I’ve been to this pub for food and I’ve been very impressed. Food hot, well presented. Waitresses polite and helpful. Considering it was 3 days before Christmas and busy the service was timely.

Six of us went here, on a busy Thursday evening, to celebrate a birthday. We were looked after by Holly who was very friendly, attentive and kind. When I had booked the table 2 weeks ago, nothing was too much trouble , and it was exactly the same on the night. Thank you for a wonderful evening..

I booked an area of the pub for a family get together for Christmas. Ten adults and 8 children. Everything was seamless from booking onwards. I ordered a sandwich buffet and children's meals. I had made a request at the time of pre-ordering for one person's sandwiches to be without mayonaise. When the sandwiches were brought in this request had been overlooked but the chef made some more and they were 'on the house'. We all really enjoyed the experience and will definitely be back in the future.

Have just returned home after going to the Brewhouse Kitchen for our wedding anniversary meal. Chose to dine there after having a lovely meal there in April 2024. What a disappointment, service was slow, could die of thirst waiting for a drink, food was cold and mediocre unlike last visit and crammed into a small table, very cold and next to a large party who were obviously out for Christmas. Just shy of £100 for the bill so overpriced too. Won't be going back.

went there for xmas do, 13 people. The food was disappointingly poor and the service matched it. There was another very large party in there, its only a pub they probably overwhelmed their capability.

Six of us went for the festive menu, we had to pre order our food 7 days prior to booking, when we arrived we were told that they didn’t have the ingredients for a starter that 4 of us had ordered, this wasn’t a good start. The rest of the meals were ok but seemed to lack in presentation as in no little things to make it festive , like. a small amount of salad on the plate or coleslaw with the burgers , the sprouts that a few ladies had were really hard and one lady who had boiled potatoes with her salmon had to complain as they were also hard and they had to get more for her Also the deserts were nice but didn’t come with any cream or ice cream which would of made them much better , On a positive note the staff were lovely But im afraid we would t go there again for a festive menu but would for normal lunch

Took a party of 30 for our Christmas lunch - staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was hot and delicious all served at the right pace. We all had a brilliant time.

Christmas Three Course Dinner: Tomato Soup: Excelent Turkey Roast: Excelent Except For The Very Hard Sprouts. You Can't Pan Cook Sprouts Whole, They Need To Be Quarterised and Either Steamed, or Boiled, Sorry Guys. Desert Cheese Cake: Excelent. Service: Excelent, Although They Did Forget To Deduct The Deposits When I Paid. This Was Rectified The Next Day.

Great gin tasting masterclass run by Iz. Good range of gins, Iz knew her stuff and found the perfect balance of being informative and just letting the session flow. Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon, would recommend.

Only had a sandwich, but wow, what a sandwich. Lunchtime visit quite busy, but only one member serving. She was doing her best at a run.

Fantastic gem of place! Had the sampler beer board and Burger meal experience, The cheeseburger was amazing and the hot sauce was equally impressive with the right amount of kick to it. IPa's on the sampler board with a pretty good range of drinks. Definitely will be back for another visit!

We visited for the Beer & Whisky Experience. It was a great evening with a fantastic guide, Holly, who was knowledgeable and funny. We had 5 whiskies & 5 beers to taste. The food included in the price was very good. We will definitely return for another day to just sit, drink and eat.

Cannot rate our experience highly enough. One of few places that were more than happy to have a large group booking on a Sunday lunchtime. They couldn't do enough for us. The pre order booking form was clear and efficient meaning on the day servers came out and called the right name to give the right meal which went incredibly smoothly. The food was delicious and it was fantastic to have complimentary roasts for children included. They even did one of them completely plain for my 6 month old who is new to weaning. They were helpful, friendly and we had a great experience! We would go again. They also dealt very well with dietary requirements.

We attended a Gin Masterclass today as a late Christmas present for my husband.. Iz was the hostess, very informative, fun and relaxed.. tried 5 different types of Gin with mixers to enhance the drink and a double of your choice at the end.. sadly I was driving but my husband thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend!

Holly was our server and she was very friendly!! Made us feel welcome and recommended us the cookie bake for dessert which was phenomenal. The burgers were absolutely delicious!!

Held my partner's 50th birthday party here recently and couldn't recommend it enough, if you're looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion. Liv, the manager was so helpful and accommodating with the planning. The area reserved was perfect, as it led out into the garden which was ideal for the younger family members present. I was able to organise a DJ and also put up decorations. We had around 50 people attend but it could definitely hold more. The staff were really friendly and anything we needed they helped with. The place has a really nice feel and atmosphere. Highly recommend!

We reserved the snug for our engagement party last night. It was so easy to book and the team were so helpful and looked after us really well! Thank you for making the evening special for us. Would 100% recommend!

First visit here and will def come back again. There were 4 adults and 3 children in our party. We booked a table but when we arrived it was too sunny to be indoors and requested to sit outside which was no issue at all. Kids had menus with activities and were playing in the garden ( no kids play area). We are able to sample some of their brews to ensure we liked it before ordering. Loads of different brews to choose from. Food didn't take too long to come and was superb. Would def recommend a visit.

Quality and portion sizes vary depending upon what you order. So fish and chips is a decent size whereas the steak pie is tasty but looks lost on the plate. Gluten free menu is above average and the range of beers is excellent.

We had our Dad's wake at the Brewhouse & Kitchen, Highfield, Southampton on Friday 2nd August. Many thanks to the team there, especially Lauren who helped me when choosing menu items. The food we chose were a range of toasted focaccia sandwiches that were accompanied with fries. The food that we ordered was really delicious and all who attended agreed. We were allowed a section of the pub and were able to put a slideshow of photos to remember Dad. Once again Many Thanks Brewhouse and Kitchen.

Interesting explanation of the brewery section by Kirin, very knowledgeable young man. Mac cheese generous and tomatoes on the side would have balanced the strong cheesy taste. Courteous enthusiastic service by the friendly waitress (sorry didn't get her name) made for a fun time.

Lovely place to host the wake for my dear departed Mother In Law. We were about 15 people and booked in advance. Got lots of help figuring out the menu and space. Food was DELICIOUS. Our compliments to the chef.. Thank you. On the day, the staff seemed frazzled and unprepared and as a result not super kind (a bit snappy). The staff struggled to find enough time to look after both us and the regular customers which was a bit disappointing since the pub knew we were coming. We recommend perhaps having a designated member of staff for group bookings so that we would not have to wait for drinks, wait for food, wait for everything, which is added stress we did not need on this very upsetting day.

Very disappointing on the food level Was recommended by a Freind aswell £20 for a roast dinner and it came out bloody Cold and with only 3 roast potatoes no bigger than sugar cubes And where was the gravy

Specialise in pizza and can't even cook that right, waited ages for a margarita then when it came out it was massively overcooked and was completely dry

We went for the beer and whisky experience and it was brilliant! Kiran was our host for the evening and he did a great job going through the different whiskys and beers with us, explaining how they're made in general and actually showing us how they make them in house. The 8am stout in particular was lovely! Would defintaly recommend trying this or getting it as a gift for someone.

We booked lunch for both my birthday and Father’s Day and were looked after by Soraya. She was amazing and gave brilliant service, from bringing out extra gravy to suggesting soft dishes for our son who recently had braces fitted. The Sunday roast was massive and very delicious - would maybe like to see a few more green veggies next time! Thanks again for making our day so special 💕

Food was beautifully cooked and presented. Having booked I'd expected to be seated in the restaurant area but instead we were not given this option and were instead seated at a small table in the bar area to the right of entrance. Not the nicest part of the pub and plenty of other tables we could have been offered. Once seated service received was good. The dessert options now v limited - just 5 - so only mains and sides ordered.
