Brewhouse & Kitchen in Poole

An excellent venue for food and beer. I had a roast dinner with 3 different meats, and an excellent porter to wash it down with. The only negative was the stealth tax on our bill. We paid the bill, then realised afterwards that a 'discretionary service charge' had been added.

Really disappointed sadly, first time visiting and the food was not edible . We had x 2 steaks and it was full of fat and the onion rings were cremated. No one came to check how the food was and we have come away hungry . I am not one to complain on site as I feel awkward but it has left a bad feeling

Euan was a perfect host for the whisky and beer tasting, great knowledge and made the whole experience a lot of fun

Attended the brewing experience day, our host Euan was knowledgeable and engaging and passionate about his brewing process. Food and drink great, a fun day I’d certainly recommend.

It's tough to beat this place for lunch. Both of us went for the Burgers and we had the tasting board of beer which is all brewed on the premises. The burgers were amazing as was the beer, will be going back. Great music which is at just the right volume and great friendly chilled out atmosphere.

Was fortunate to learn about the International Womens Brew Day through Barclays Eagle Lab at the Foundry. A fabulous day learning about the brewing process, which included coffee, breakfast, lunch and sampling various ales made by our host Ewan. Very very impressed with his knowledge and his passion - I gleaned so much. Thoroughly recommended. Did not know women were the first brewers!!

Attended the brewing masterclass with Ewan, what an amazing guy! The passion he has for his craft and his knowledge was infectious and had us asking everything about brewing beer, distilling spirits and even Rice wine. A credit to the B & K! Thoroughly recommend.

We went on the Brewing Experience Day and can thoroughly recommend it. Euan was an engaging host full of fascinating facts and the beers we tasted were all outstanding.

It was cold in the restaurant so I had to keep my coat on. Burnt chicken, dry and tasted of nothing but burnt breadcrumbs. Slaw was just chopped red cabbage that tasted off. Avocado was so soft and again tasted off. Coriander rice was tasteless and stuck together in a gelatinous lump. One man was tending both the bar and waitering. The poor person couldn't keep up. I refused to pay for my meal as I didn't eat it so at least I saved £14 and I went home and cooked myself a decent meal.

Yesterday we had the gin masterclass with Euan. Wasn’t sure what to expect but was very pleasantly surprised. Euan was so knowledgeable about the gin and its history. Tasted five different gins which was great fun. Our voucher included a meal. I had the chicken burger which was delicious. I understand their chef is fairly new and they are building up a relatively new team but if our experience was anything to go by, they are on the right track and we would definitely go back. Well done to Euan, Sophie and the team.

We tried 5 different gins with different tonics or sodas and fruit. He certainly knows his stuff and the 2 hours passed so quickly. Well done Ewan. We then had a great chicken burger with a double gin of our choice.

We had a wonderful time in Brewhouse, we went on Thursday and it was so good, we came back the next day too! The food and drink were delicious, the staff were friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was welcoming. We'll definitely be coming back for a quiz on another Thursday evening!

Second time here after meeting a work colleague here last time. Had a craft lager and a buttermilk chicken burger from menu. Food was hot and freshly cooked. Beer cold and tasty. Service was impeccable with waiter offering sauces and asking how food was. Best seats in house are those near log burner on right as you walk in. They had been nabbed by locals but very friendly and chatty. Good range of music playing and very open area where you can see the beer is brewed. Won't be my last visit and may bring family in spring. Always a must visit when down for work.

Sunday lunch with my husband. Warm welcome from Sophie, cosy relaxed atmosphere, nothing was too much trouble . Wood burners, log fire and twinkling fairy lights. Lunch was delicious, particularly my calamari and my husband’s roast beef. Generous portions reasonably priced. Only complaint is we were too full for pudding! Planning to book for Mother’s Day lunch soon. I have also been to this venue recently for a work reunion , the venue was recommended by colleagues at Poole Hospital. The nurses and doctors were impressed and we plan to return in the Spring.

I visited with a friend for a Sunday roast and was not disappointed. Food was very tasty and large portions. Good value in today's prices. I will certainly return. The restaurant was quiet, which benefited us but a shame for the workers. Its not on the main track so probably overlooked. I would definitely recommend a visit. Staff were welcoming and keen to please.

Beer brewed on the premises, good food great atmosphere.

Always good "pub grub" here. All the pubs in the (small) chain have the same menu. But they all brew and therefore have their own beers. I'm quite partial to their stouts

We visited Poole and stayed in The Travelodge close to the train station. Due to an issue food and drinks were not available. We were advised to visit The Brewhouse. After a short walk we were inside this interesting building. The female barmaid was very friendly and helpful. We had 6 chicken and 6 cauliflower wings with a portion of chips. We also had two of the in-house beers during happy hour. Good value for money, enjoyable food and drinks.

We booked a family Xmas lunch in Xmas day. We were all quite disappointed as the atmosphere felt very soulless, not Christmassy at all. Hardly any decorations, no welcome bubbles, just shown to a bare table. The service was ok, the food was ok, a little overdone in parts. It was a bit cool in there too, but draughty. Not sure we would do that again.

Booked for 19 people last night for our works Xmas Party. The Christmas menu was very underwhelming. When the food finally came out with over an hohr between courses it was lukewarm at best, I know 19 is a lot but we DID prebook. We were told there was a party of 17 and then an even bigger party after us so maybe you overstretched yourselves. Service was terrible. Waiters had zero personality and were very awkward, when asked what soup it was the response from one young man was "All I was told is its soup". One of our party had a nut allergy and she asked numerous times if the dishes contained nuts.......only to be met with a huff and a "it might do", eventually they came back with the information we needed. I know you guys are extremely busy but the Customer Service was pretty poor. Our table was set out for 19 adults.......had all 19 turned up there was absolutely no way we would have all fitted around the table! If you can't fit us in comfortably, I would have preferred to have been told no when booking. The bar area had a great buzz to it. But all in all, wouldn't return for food but defo would for drinks

Booked for a birthday meal for 6 people. Sadly the whole experience was a complete nightmare. Waiter friendly but lacked customer service, I've been in customer service for 25 years and eaten a a vast range of places from top class to basic. I would say the food, atmosphere and customer service were all really bad. Food basic, cold plates, bad sized portions for the money. Not at all as described in menu. No drinks menu and couldn't wait to leave because other loud customers bringing the whole atmosphere down. The only plus side was a different waiter taking payment who kindly took off two meals we complained about but really we could of done with paying for only the drinks. Gutted I had to still pay over £100 on something so bad that could if been spent on something else more worthwhile. Also birthday person really upset his meal and experience was so awful. Never going back? Would not recommend!

Food and staff were absolutely amazing, no complaints at all. The room where we had the party was at the back and have to say it was absolutely freezing cold despite the wood burner. There were a group of men out side and they kept leaving the door open. We definitely will be back but would love another table inside the pub.

Friendly new management, fires always lit, dogs made welcome.

Been here before, usually fairly quiet but they had a 40th birthday party to deal with so things were a little slower than usual. Their craft beers and ciders are absolutely amazing.

Understaffed & very small meals, disappointing for the price.

Friendly and fast service, good menu , rather quiet but it was a Sunday. Would recommend ,but not on an " experience day" as it`s not all that big a place and can get a bit overcrowded. Will be going again, weather permitting and sit outside

A nice old pub with its own beer brewed next to the tables. The beer is really tasty, especially the lager. Unfortunately, the kitchen is closed in the evening, and I wanted something to eat with beer.

Had a bite to eat before going to the Lighthouse Theatre. It was quiet as the weather was awful so we were disappointed to find that our table was dirty. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food came quickly and was what we were expecting. On our way out we popped to the loo to find that there was no toilet roll in either of the cubicles in the ladies. Disappointed again.

I booked a Work Space for the day and I can’t fault anything. I paid £10 and for that, had unlimited drinks (T’s and C’s obviously apply) and lunch! The service was impeccable; amazing, attentive and friendly staff who couldn’t do enough to look after me - I’ve already booked again for tomorrow! Special shout-out to Grant who went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, and bought drinks over, even when I hadn’t had a chance to order - you’re fabulous!

the previous reviews I thought this would be right up our street. However, the service wasn’t great but mainly the food was overpriced and not really what had been described on the menu. I chose the boneless pork belly rib for £18 and was so disappointed with how dry the pork belly was, there was barely any sauce, corn ribs were tiny and had no flavouring, the chips hadn’t even been salted let alone had herbs put on and the beans were literally bbq baked beans. I couldn’t believe how small the portion size was for the money I paid. My partner had the Korean burger and said it was dry like it had been sat in the freezer for too long! I wouldn’t go back to this place! Also my partner ordered a flight of beers and they had run out of flights which we could understand if it was a busy time but there was only one other group with one flight.

Love The Brewhouse and Kitchen and planned to dine there this Poole visit. Unfortunately when we arrived there on a Sunday evening the menu was very reduced due to shortages. We decided to go elsewhere but could not leave without at least having an 8am...

Had a really great lunchtime bite to eat. There was a mixup with the menu which Grant sorted out very quickly and professionally. Nice guy. I love this place. Its reasonably priced, is always friendly and has good food. One of my favourites in Poole....

I highly recommend the Gin Masterclass. I bought this as a present for my wife and we were both very impressed with the 2hr class. Great gin combinations also includes a meal. Marcus has fantastic knowledge of the subject. Very impressed.

We have just had the most incredible experience at brewhouse and kitchen poole the guys from Gloucester marcus and amber thankyou for an amazing anniversary meal you were absolutely incredible and the food was incredible too I have to say as an ex chef that the food we had I can't express how much we enjoyed so thankyou again guys you were incredible

Had a brewing talk and demonstration with Euan, really enjoyed this, he is such a friendly and knowledgeable chap. Thoroughly recommended for an alternative group activity in the area!

Popped in this afternoon for a quick drink. Great outdoor area with music, but guys please don't tell me after I've paid for my drink, that I'm actually not getting the mixer I asked for, not everyone is a fan of diet drinks, I drink and prefer the taste of normal coke, it would have been better to advise me of the options available so that I could have gone for something else.

Food was really bad. Took ages to come, but was somehow cold. Will not be returning.

A great evening tasting 10 different Brewhouse beers (1/3 pints!!!) with the chief brewer. Euan was amazing, he was so knowledgable about the brewing process and the history of brewing. The meal was served with the seventh beer and a lovely whisky shot. All in all it was a excellent, entertaining evening with good company. I would recommend!

Euan, the brewer, welcomed us and talked us through the tasting of 10(!) different beers, from a fantastic ‘Oktoberfest’ to a warm red IPA. Lots of information about the methods, history and make-up of both these and other international ales. The meal was served towards the end of the tasting experience and all in all it was an excellent evening! With each of these brew houses having their own brewer, the flavours will apparently vary from house to house - can’t wait to try another to see if it’s as good!

Nice. It is very much a craft beer establishment, so beer can be more than you would pay at other pubs. For example £6-50 for a pint of Weißbier.

We arrived to an empty restaurant, however the venue was hosting a wedding in the back garden, which is why we think the service and food wasn’t up to the standard of other reviews about this establishment. A nice selection of food and drink available and the majority of food that we ordered was ok. Sweetcorn ribs ok, children’s burgers and chips very nice and chicken wings not bad either. However, we were were disappointed with the cauliflower wings which were not crispy, did not have coriander and sesame seeds as advertised and Instead were soggy and oily and bland. Service was non-existent. Plates were not cleared and we had to ask for deserts for the children. As mentioned I think everyone was preoccupied with the wedding, but not really a good excuse as we witnessed staff standing around and talking rather than serving. When we complained the waitress agreed that the cauliflower was missing the advertised ingredients, and discounted the item from the bill. This was the right thing to do, but I wonder why it was severed incorrectly in the first place. Left feeling disappointed as expected much more.

Found this place by accident!, but what a great find. We were greeted as we walked in and shown to a table straight away. Lovely atmosphere and bright as there are lots of windows. Great selection on menu to suit all tastes. I had the Mac and cheese with beer and cheese sauce and so very tasty I will be putting beer in my cheese sauce from now on. Chips very crispy. Hubby had the double cheeseburger with fries and sour cream and chive dip which he said was very tasty and a change from tomato sauce. The sticky toffee pud was too die for. Not a cheap place but worth ever penny. I would recommend this place to anyone that is after a great meal in a great place. We will be back when down this way again. Thank you for making us feel so very welcome.

Very pretty pub, old-fashioned and cosy. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. Only major complaint would be about how expensive it was, but I guess everywhere is currently. For the price, the burger could have done with maybe some salad at the side or something else to fill up the rest of the plate, apart from that, would go again.

This pub has a micro brewery and does really good pub grub. Outside seating is back and front; back is covered and quiet, front is on the street. The brewery is easy to see and understand. The beer is excellent. The food is not too expensive and an interesting menu

We popped in for an impromptu dinner on a Tuesday night it wasn't busy which was good. The table service was great the young waitress couldn't be more helpful offering us tasters of ciders and answering any questions we had. The food was nice and served in good time. Sadly I don't understand why a service charge was added to the bill without being asked therefore we didn't tip the waitress sorry she lost out there (table for 2 with a bill under £50 in the UK ummmm optional I thought) Overall we had a lovely evening.

Such a great pub. Had my all time favourite beer here called Lightbulb. Lovely staff, nice atmosphere and right across from the train station for a pre-post train pint. Didn’t eat but it looked good from afar! And very dog friendly too. Also, love the lighting 🍺

Norrmally good food and beer. Today food was less than acceptable. Bang bang bowl with spiced cauliflower - never again. Chunks of almost raw cauliflower with spices sprinkled on top left as powder. No chillis in sight. My husbands first choice was unavailable, which we were told after about 20 minutes. Three quarters of an hour later it came out. We were so hungry we just ate it and left. Should have stuck to the burger.

Had roast dinner today with my husband, daughter and granddaughter and dog. Absolutely gorgeous, loads of food actually too much in the end. My daughters boyfriend didn't make it so they kindly made him a takeaway, let us change into another area when it started to rain. Polite staff when granddaughter asked for her ice-cream. Very much recommend the roast, you can get extra roast potatoes and gravy if you can fit it in

First visit, great burgers and fantastic beers, Saturday afternoon drinking is there anything better 😁.
