GREAT REAL ALE Proper Traditional Pub with nice atmosphere and polite efficient bar lady. Also out back nice area to relax. Serving a choice of 3 Real Ales - On the day I visited Doom Bar Timothy Taylors Landlord and Ghost Ship plus lagers and the rest. Food wise nothing much though I guess there would be available crisps nuts etc. I went for the Doombar @ £2.95 pint which was excellent. Dogs are positively welcomed. Various Signs around for various types of nights dates. Great Pub Great Real Ales Great Service.

Nice, friendly little pub with reasonable prices (probably the reason it was quite busy on a wet Thursday lunchtime). The beer was good & the service was prompt & courteous (assisted by one of the regulars with a service bell!) Cheers!

Reading the 3 reviews below its clear someone does not get the irony in there comment of moaning of running out of beer as the place is so popular. There is a new landlady and great new staff and one of which who literally just collects glasses and cleans ash trays so not sure what the idea things are not well run and cleared in a timely manner. Its not just the keen prices I can think of 9 to 10 reasons why this is so much a better pub now . The decor , revamp and improvement in terms of staff atmosphere new customers rather than the clicky group of old boys, there mates and generally a nice crowd is very welcome from the tired old Tap of before. Lots of girls and couples come to the pub now and the change in customers and popularity has seen the place without exaggerating 300% busier than before. Well down Craft and well done the new team

I gave 1 as there is no 0 I was in the Brewery Tap this evening at 7pm and it ran out of beer. Yes ran out of beer at 7pm on a Bank Holiday weekend ! The chap next to me at the bar asked the lady behind the bar to see the manager very politely as he thought this was pretty poor. The manager came down and immediately laid into the guy and accused him of being rude to the bar staff, I pointed out I had been there the whole time and he had never been rude to anyone, She said “there’s a pub up the road you can go to that’” . No apology nor any attempt to listen to the real facts. A craft pub without any beer and a rude manager! Didn’t stay,,

We used to come to this pub all the time when it was a family run local business, sadly they were ousted by the brewery and it's now just a generic bland renovated place. Garden looks nothing like the pictures anymore, glasses rarely collected so tables dirty (esp in the week) no card machine yet no signs telling you this, no atmosphere, bar staff untrained and unfriendly, limited stock, beer served in incorrect glasses and undrinkable beer being served from an unchanged barrel. I appreciate the new people are finding their feet, but the landlady spends most of her time in the garden, drinking and chatting as opposed to sorting the issues and just running the pub. Clientele has completely changed and a small local pub has lost its nice friendly atmosphere and has effectively become a wetherspoons with music. Shame as it was such a great place.

This weekend I heard the regrettable news that this pub is shutting. Such a shame as have had many a great night in here. A proper pub. Great for watching the football, and had a blinding time in there this past Christmas when it was a party atmosphere. No pub in the town can lace its boots. Never a sign of trouble, The way a pub should be. The traditional pubs have died a slow death and all we have left are crap manufactured ones lacking in any real atmosphere or soul. Will enjoy 1 last final drink in there for the cup final before regrettably bidding farewell. So long

With a sports-driven theme hinted at through West Ham United memorabilia and other sporting achievements - especially like the framed Frankel photograph close to the entrance - the Brewery Tap was a good outing and we happily had a gin and tonic listening to the jukebox selections. Good crowd, good noise and a warm atmosphere.

A very small traditional pub with a lovely beer garden out the back. The staff are friendly as are the customers - there's a very convivial atmosphere. Due to its size we don't spend much time inside, but in summer - or when the weather is clement enough - the beer garden is a really lovely place to while away a few hours.

It's an unassuming pub, but the staff are always very friendly, the drinks are reasonably priced and they have a lovely beer garden, furnished nicely with heaters. This is my local when I'm working in Brentwood, and although I dont frequent the 'BT' as often as I would like, it's an enjoyable place to spend a lunchtime and try out a few real ales. I've only been here during a lunch hour and on some days it can be busy, particularly in the enclosed 'garden' out the back, which is a nice place to sit and chat in the sunshine. No complaints with the food either, albeit a fairly limited menu, but then again you would expect that from a small 'town' pub. The service is pretty good with friendly staff and quick turnaround of food (handy if you're on a lunch break!). I recently had chunky chicken curry and chips which hit the spot! Would probably say it's not somewhere I'd go for a long period of time (due to it's size), but worth a trip for a spot of lunch and a couple of pints.

This Public House is a tad small and cosy, but with lovely friendly staff who took the time to answer our questions and give us a brief history of the pub :D We learnt that the actual pub part is what used to be the 'Tap Room' of the old brewery, we were even showed the pipe where the beer was piped through from the brewery to the tap room! The (now) shops and residential properties next door are actually what was the Brewery! There are photos on the wall of the building in days gone by. The Beer was of good quality, these people obviously know how to maintain beer pipes and pumps very well! The Garden is beautiful with creeping plants and quality garden furniture to sit on.The food is nice and good value!I am going here tonight :) on one of the hottest days of 2011 to enjoy the beer garden :)
