Our first time at this brewers fayre pub and we were pleasantly surprised how good it was! Also staff were helpful and efficient! Meal was hot and the pub was clean!

Very nice fresh carvery, staff very friendly & attentive.

Sunday carvery was good although soft play is extra cost per child, which is a bit much considering there are other Whitbread affiliated restaurants which don’t charge for soft play areas.

We enjoy coming to eat here, the soft play helps tire the kids out before the meal. We are a large party and always get a round table which makes chatting much easier. The food is actually good for the price, we have been 5 times this year and not had a single issue. The staff are friendly and helpful, last time we went the staff were closing up the carvery and let us help ourselves to the veg and Yorkshire's. We do recommend it

Very busy but provided what we required. And was able to provide gluten free toast.

I enjoyed a meal there on my way home from a day out it was value for money.

All you can eat breakfast is value for money. Large airy room. Gets busy later in the morning.

Great place to eat, drink, meet, chat, have a family and friends get together, a celebration or birthday party or just relax in a warm, comfortable and very pleasant atmosphere. The restaurant and bar have a wide variety to choose from and special offers too! Delicious food and very friendly and helpful staff will make your experience very enjoyable. Ideal for families with children as there is a separate play area too. Very highly recommended 👍🏻😁♥️ xx

Very nice staff breakfast good value

I booked a table for my sister in laws birthday today. She shares her birthday with my brother who we lost last year - he would have been 40 today and it’s his first birthday without him with us I explained the situation to the manager when I popped in to book the table and asked could they maybe put a card on the table and look after my sister in law to help take the edge of the day for her and to make it still a special day for her When she arrived your absolutely fabulous staff had reserved her table and placed balloons, a card, a little bottle of wine and some chocolates on the table for her! It was absolutely fantastic to see her smile like that today - thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts for such a lovely gesture it is appreciated more than you could know Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their breakfasts , the food and the service were perfect too. Thank you so much

Went to meet up with some friends for breakfast. There were 11 of us and we hadn't booked. They were packed out as it was fathers day. But they made a huge effort and fitted us in. outstanding service thank you.🏍️

The Wheatley is a smashing venue, lovely food, great service and the staff from the Manager to the cleaners are so friendly and polite. They all go out of their way to make your visit the best it can be. Don't hesitate to visit you'll be pleasantly surprised by this gem 👍👍

We had my sons 6th birthday there today on the play area and the children had food. The experience was amazing from start to finish, nothing was too much trouble, staff was amazing with all the children. Thank you so much for making it a fantastic experience for our little boys birthday 🥰

I can't really leave a true review as we went in, saw the menu and prices and then left. Loads of parking though, clean, no carvery, only on Sunday's. Wheelchair friendly. Loos are on ground level.

If you want to enjoy your food,stay clear of the play centre. Kids running in and out like kids do shouting and screaming.

Been visiting here for over 20yrs, previously Taybarns then before that was Brewers Fayre. Recently the food hasn't been of a good standard. Today - 7/4/24, paid full price for haddock, chips and mushy peas. I was served with dried-up peas and barely lukewarm chips, Had to send it back twice. The young staff waiting on tables didn't seem to be bothered about the quality or the look of the food. Basically, if food doesn't look appetising then don't serve it! I spoke with the manager who was apologetic and said he would speak to the kitchen staff - I hope he did otherwise longstanding customers will cease to revisit.

Went on Easter Sunday couldn't fault the food . Booked table for 12 o'clock was really quiet at this time.

Been a few times for the Sunday Carvery, the food was fantastic, the staff all very attentive and welcoming and can’t do enough for you. Been through the week with grandchildren who love the food and play area.

Not the best service, some staff quite rude. Lots of confusion when ordering and when the meals arrived things were wrong, then we were told we had to pay extra for something that was missing off one of the meals, but the missing item was included in the price of the meal anyway so why did we have to pay extra? Lots of confusion again with staff members that clearly aren’t knowledgeable on the menu or prices. The food overall wasn’t the best but ok. Kids enjoy the play area, probably the best the thing going for it really.

Called at the Brewers Fair at Wheatlea for breakfast on Sunday 3rd March 24. I have to say the service and food was first class. It did get rather busy at one point, but the staff were brilliant and so helpful. Would definitley recomend. 👏👏

Massive thank you to everyone on shift tonight. Cannot fault the service and the food. Was let down by our venue a week beforehand and you were so helpful and accommodating to fit a large booking in last minute. Again great service and lovely staff.

Really poor service, eggs had hair in, builders sat swearing on large table, spoke with waitress very rude.

Went for breakfast, was OK for price but experience ruined by a very rude lady, who claimed to be deputy manager. shouting at my son to get out of play area, good job his mum or nan wasn't around! 2nd time this has happened, won't be a 3rd time as we won't be coming back. If you don't like children don't work in a restaurant that has an adjacent kids play area!!!

What a horrible place to visit! Rude ignorant staff, made my 5yr old cry by literally demanding we leave the play area, asked on entry if we could use and told yes only for an elderly female staff member claiming to be the acting manager to "throw us out" manners cost nothing, avoid this place many better places to visit that are actually family friendly.

Food and service here is great! But it is a multipurpose pub with both a Hotel and a Kids play area l, so it can get a little noisy. Not a deal breaker, well worth a stop. The fish was huge, steak was lovely!

We went to Wheatlea for Christmas Dinner. The food was amazing and the service impeccable. We were served bucks fizz on arrival and given a Christmas card from the team. There were Christmas activity packs for the kids. The staff couldn't do enough for you. We had a great stress free Christmas day x

Had a carvery but it was luke warm, this has happened a few times and thinking this time it will be OK. Disappointed even the gravy was only warm.

Omg where to start why get a king plate for carvery wen the person in front of u recieves more meat thats pointless money , my grandsons burger was unedible and was left on plate and to top it off 45 mins after finished meal was still awaiting desserts I asked twice and the 2nd time the woman at the front was so abrupt I'm guessing the manager as put me off returning to the eatery ,well u lost regular custom after today hope ur proud of ur service 😡

Our mains came out and then we waited an hour for our deserts any they still weren't here asked 2 time and this lady said there coming out now but there not

Lovely experience and great food and service. I ordered a vegan burger that was simply delicious. Then a truly amazing member of the team, Amanda, suggested a pudding! The cheesecake was sublime. The restaurant was so warm, cosy and immaculately clean. I will be coming back again. Thank you x

First and will be our last visit. Went Saturday morning for a family gathering / breakfast (9 of us). Not left a good impression. The buffet area is far too small and cramped for the amount of diners. Long queues for the coffee machine. Food is very basic quality, no thrills. This would be all understandable for the price but the atmosphere was unpleasant with kids running riot and sprawled on the floors playing and the adjacent play area that I understand is normally closed at breakfast time was rammed with screaming kids playing.

Regular visitor to this restaurant, always a great service from the team here especially Vanessa. Food always served quickly and hot. Highly recommended.

This post is going back about 9 months or so when i last visited. IMHO, Craig the live in manager at the wheatlea would be more suited to a KFC/corner cafe/greasy spoon or similar establishment as CERTAINLY can't run a pub. His arrogance is an absolute understatement and his customer service skills are absolutely non existent. Low and behold he ends up running the Widnes brewers when i stayed at the Premier inn for a local wedding. We had a quick drink with my party and we all agreed to walk over to the Toby carvery where we knew we would be treated with respect. Hopefully I'll be having a more indepth chat to Ian Vance next time he's in there to voice my opinion. Oh also, if you're female you will be fine as he tends to be slightly distracted that way. Whitbread, do yourselves a big favour and get shut of him. I rest my case

We come here every so often as we come over to see family. The staff are always so welcoming even when they are busy, always checking the food is ok and if there is anything else they can do for us. We had a lovely meal and will definitely be coming back next time we are over.

The wife had a carvery...it was cold, stale, mush and the beef...omg..gristle at best. She went back to change the meat for something edable but the chef just carved another inedable chunk of fatty beef. The chef even struggled to cut through it with her knife. What a waist of £12...The manageress walked past our table at least 10times and saw the plate of food vertually untouched and never once asked if it was ok.. wouldnt recommend...

Always a bit hit and miss with the food quality here. Ordered a mixed grill steak medium rare, arrived in good time but I would have preferred to wait a bit longer for the food to done as requested. Steak burnt , charcoaled edges, like shoe leather how any one can send out a medium rare steak burnt is beyond me, eggs only yellow edible due to being burnt to a crisp and swimming in grease, sausages burnt like they had been left on a barbecue too long. Decide not to complain there and then as we have experienced this before here and then you have to wait another 20 mins to get your food replaced , meanwhile everyone else is eating and you are sat there looking sad.Sort out defeats the idea of eating out together when you are eating at different times and when your food arrives the others have finished. Also didn’t complain as it would be a waste of food replacing it , even though I didn’t enjoy my mixed grill. When they get it right it is great but when they get it wrong which happens more and more then it is time to eat elsewhere.

Whilst visiting family decided to go for something to eat. Food was ok, but the young lady server named Deborah went above and beyond to make sure all our needs were met she is a credit to your business and if it wasn’t for her I would have been making a complaint.

Absolutely great for food, service and atmosphere. All you can eat breakfast was amazing, plenty of everything and what a choice. Hot and cold food and drinks, a menu to suit everyone. Only downside was that disabled parking was used by people not displaying a blue badge and not monitored as it should be.

We came for a meal for my daughters 5th birthday, the service from a member of staff we received was amazing (Deborah) we’ve been quite a few times and have had Deborah’s service before and she can never do enough for you especially with little ones. She really is an amazing so thank you for help making it special :)
