with a tired toddler in toe in a push chair, I was made to feel rushed when ordering at the counter, un friendly staff, no please, thank you or hello when serving customers… The food is overpriced for what it is….. and my raspberry and apple muffin was stale. (Dare I ask for a fresh one with staff that can’t crack a smile) The woman that served me could see I had my granddaughter asleep on her pram but she never offered to carry my tray, instead I had to leave her by the table in her pram while I went back to get my tray, even though she wasn’t busy. Over priced Poor customer service Miserable unhelpful staff stale food

The coffee is the best in Wigan and the staff are very good and helpful

The portion size was good as it was very filling, I went on a quiet day so the atmosphere felt quite cozy, however the staff weren't very knowledgeable about allergens when asked about them. There were signs for each dish with what it contained but nothing about cross contamination.

£4.50 for a slice of cake...£3.00 for 2 slices of toast...pushing it a bit....Found out later on I could have had pot of tea and a toasted teacake upstairs for £3.65 ......

I am so happy that the old staff are back. The mocha was wonderful and the muffins are lovely and fresh. Nice to have helpful and friendly staff. They have really been missed.

As of last week around the 12th April 2024 Imran is now back in Muffin Break in the Grand Arcade Wigan. A great deal of work has had to be done before things were like they used to be. Thank goodness!! No more sullen faces behind the counter, no more horrible coffee. I am absolutely made up knowing that now I can have a fab cup of coffee in a clean environment. As a regular customer that has now returned, I feel that it is my right to give this review. Thank you to all the fabulous staff that have returned.

Long wait for a takeaway coffee. Only one person making drinks. Coffee was ok. Price not too bad . Food options looked good.

I use this cafe when I got to Grand Arcade. Situated near lift and esculater. Helpful staff and lovely snacks and cakes. Toilet available but could do with a spruce up.

It states it does gluten free food but they had none when I asked.

We've been several times before and keep coming back. The hot chocolate is lovely and so is the mud cake, with a generous ganache topping. The sandwich was lovely, tosted and the bread was delicious.

I visited this cafe with my partner and friend I tried the chicken tikka Yorkshire wrap and it was lovely, would definitely come back again

The dessert was delicious, we have got a strawberry tart and the amazing cheesecake. Staff were very friendly the service was excellent.

The cakes are amazing and the staff are lovely. My Grandma comes twice a week and she is always looked after by Saher and her team. Our favourites are the Biscoff Cheesecake and Red Velvet which we had today 😀

We went in this afternoon to grab a quick lunch, there was so much to choose from. We had chicken tikka flatbread and gyros pudding. The gyros pudding was something very different. Staff were super friendly and polite. Drinks we had was purple hot chocolate, and biscoff milkshake, never ever had so properly made milkshakes. We used to went cafe upstairs for milkshakes for so long but one day decided to try at Muffin Break, we would never go back to another place in Grand Arcade.

The coffee is great and the the staff are very friendly and accommodating, would recommend paying a visit to this place. Jon & Heather

The food and service was fine but we were sat on the outside as it was busy and it was chilly

Muffin break has definitely gone downhill since all the old staff suddenly disappeared. New staff member didn’t know what a mocha was when I ordered it, the muffins used to be so soft & fresh but the muffins that day were not just baked that day as hard & dry. Regretfully have had to start going elsewhere for coffee & cake, so disappointed.

Coffee was leaking because it was in a cracked cup Toasted Tcake under toasted Lady behind counter on speaker phone very loudly

Paid £7.50 for two that were extremely dry and tastless. Coffee wasn't hot and the place was a mess, empty tables full of dirty cups/trays etc. Used to always go when in Wigan but don't think we'll be rushing back.

For years we have been going and it had always been lovely. But there seems to of been a change of management and it’s gone down hill badly. The food isn’t cooked as it should be. The staff look like they would rather be anywhere but there. It all feels half hearted. We now go elsewhere.

The croissants are delicious muffins are amazing I recommend coming I come every Saturday to have my breakfast here and it’s wonderful

All the old staff have disappeared. Today was a very poor experience, slow service, hardly any muffins, drink poor, toastie was forgotten about and only brought over when I chased and was going cold. Extremely disappointed.

Food is always good here, especially the chicken tikka flatbread. Staff always really friendly and helpful. Unfortunately because of the location it can often feel very loud! Especially if you're on the tables by the entrance. But it doesn't stop us going back again and again!

Cafe in a shopping arcade. No atmosphere but they've tried to make it feel like a coffee shop. Coffee was good. Staff were courteous but could try smiling now again.

I visit this cafe at least once a week. The staff are very friendly,coffee is really good and the scones and fruit toast are yummy!

A lovely little place. Staff very attentive to what you ask for,always go the extra mile for you. Que goes down very quickly Always quality food and drink. Very clean and overall a nice surrounding . Definitely give it a visit. Guarantee you'll be going back .

Coffee was good and hot sausage ciabata was a little difficult to eat as I found it a little tough.

Been going there years but will not be going again as i like my latte strong with dark coffee trails on , ive been drinking latte for years so i know what a proper strong one looks like and tastes like theres one person works there who sometimes is on coffe machine ive found it to look and taste insipid , so avoid her , i went today the blonde girl who uses the coffee machine proper was near the machine the other one literally ran to the machine , kicked off when i asked the blonde one to make my latte as she akways does if shes there made a big song and dance about it , saying she was going to make it and if u dont like it you know what yiu can do , all she did was make a show of herself , sp o just walked off’ , so ill tell you this love if youre listening., if im paying and i dont want you to mske my latte , well its my perogotive in it ! It was even quiet and illl tell you this ive been going there years only staff member whos ever kicked off is you. So its a bye from me as i am not being spoke to like that when i’m paying 3£ 40 for a latte , i will go to neros , i will be complaining to the owner soon as i see him !

The food looked great but wasn't that flavoursome and I asked for the sandwhiches not to be cooked as I was taking them home but they didn't listen

Like warm milkshake today so for £5.00 was not impressed plus the egg mayo sandwich was only palatable

Nice little cafe. Came I when it was quiet coffee was nice. Cake was really nice and cookie just as good. Staff where friendly and welcoming. Very clean and tidy. Had a large selection of drinks and foods to choose from.

I’m a regular at Muffin Break in Wigan.The staff are simply wonderful — each-and-everyone. Every morning I am greeted with a smile and a divine coffee which they are very attentive when making. They are seen regularly cleaning and going above and beyond to meet high demand. A truly lovely group of staff that are an absolute delight to see daily. It’s been eight years and I’ve never had any reason to complain. I’ll see you in the morning! ☕️

This place is the best in town. The panini and flatbreads are so nice. I visit most days during the week and love the warm hospitality from all the staff when I am there. I really do look forward to every visit as there is so much choice for lunch, I’m getting hungry again now just thinking about it. Thanks girls, see you soon. 😁😋

I have walked past this place numerous times but never visited. Thought that my partner and I would try it out this morning, both coffees had an overbearing amount of syrup in them, but to be fair they swapped mine into a large cup and added more milk. The food - both bagels were rock solid, and my partner's sausage patty was cold. Paid £19, could have gone to Starbucks or McDonald's for less. The sandwiches and cakes look great, but can only comment on my experience.

Lovely salad sandwich however the chips were just edible. Very busy place so expect a wait

Great coffee shop for a treat as it can be a bit expensive if there's a few of you and your getting cakes and drinks. The cakes taste great, my favourite is the biscoff cheesecake. The coffees taste a bit stronger then Costa but if your a coffee lover then you won't mind. Staff like most places nowadays are ether friendly or act like they don't want to be there and when I went the lady serving was very friendly but sadly the one making the drinks didn't either acknowledge you, which is a shame when your spending near to £30 for a few drinks and cakes. Is small and can be crampt when busy so if your going with a push chair or wheelchair you may struggle unless the front of the coffee shop is empty.

Godd range of food choice, quick service, helpful staff.

Would normally go upstairs but all full so decided to try this one. Way too expensive for what it is. Couldn't finish my food or coffee as it just wasnt sitting well. And as someone with a food intolerance, having to pay extra for soya milk, is ridiculous 🙄. Customer service also not the greatest.

Called in for a coffee and a cup of tea and a muffin. Has the track and trace app. Or sign in at the entrance, nice and clean staff were very good and freindly tables are cleaned before you sit down, good range of cakes and sandwichs inside of grand arcade,

Every table being used therfore to many people in, not enough social distancing. Good coffee and nice staff.

visited here with my husband and daughter for coffee and panini. Staff very friendly however first part we didnt like was very unorganised queue with no social distancing and ni ine was asked for name and contact number for track and trace Floor under tables were very crumby not cleaned The icing in the cake for us was when my husband bit into his panini and a huge blue bottle was in it. He felt ill and couldnt eat anymore (obviously) they gave him a muffin and his money back as good gesture but me and my daughter were putnoff our food too but not reimbursed for this I e mailed head office twice to give benefit of the doubt and give a chance to hive explanation before i wrote this but had no reply WHAT SO EVER Disappointed is an understatement

I changed from Coffee Delight to this place due to rude management and what a difference, staff are helpful and courteous, coffee was great muffins tasty and they do gluten free muffins. Will call again.

Was very disappointed as first of all they have no gluten free options except for 2 different flavour muffins, this is common at most places though and I think it is ridiculous, do gluten free people only eat cake? Then the service was slow, and they even got our order wrong, even friends that ordered separately had the wrong order and had to wait even longer for it to be corrected. That was not the first time that has happened on our visit either.

I normally go to the cafe upstairs because their angel cake is gorgeous but it's my fella's birthday tomorrow & this is his favourite cafe so we went there. I had red velvet cafe & wow!! I went to heaven .... the staff were lovely too. There was a girl & a guy serving & both were very pleasant & extremely polite .... will definitely go again!!

For a chain establishment the food here is regularly excellent and consistent, with a good choice of sweet and savoury. Service could be a bit more personal at times, but overall it beats the usual coffee shops found on the high street.

Good cafe on ground floor of grand arcade. We had 2 very nice coffees and excellent cheese toastie and a deli wrap that was really good.
