Just returned from this Brewers Fayre after staying at Premier Inn. Also visited last week. We had a Continental breakfast on each visit. There was ample choice and the staff were well organised and friendly.

Totally Appalled by the treatment and respect shown by the young so called manager who refused to serve us and I would think needs to perhaps rethink his employment path .... Sad to think the art of diplomacy has missed generation ...

This place has really gone down hill, on the day we went, the service was crap! We chose a table and I asked for a cloth to give it a wipe, the bloke on duty said why don't you sit somewhere else? We wanted to sit by the window rather than in a dark corner. The food wasn't too good either, soggy hash browns, soggy black pudding, very little fruit and very little juice..overall it was a big let down compared to the numerous occasions we've been there before.

Absolutely no words. In and out within 10 minutes. So busy, only one member of staff who was extremely stressed. He forgot to show us our table and walked into the kitchen on the way so we were left not knowing what was going on. Walked past people saying the food was stale and there was nothing. No food out, no staff members, no milk except a carton out of date. Lots of people walking out. We decided to not bother on Father’s Day. Gutted, so we left.

Booked with family on Friday 31st may for a meal at 6pm got notification back that stated table book but when we arrived was told restaurant was closed due to shortage of staff but NO notification received TERRIBLE SERVICE for a company will never book to go here again.

Stayed at the premier inn next door and bought the meal deal. All I can say is that the twirl of hay is seriously understaffed at breakfast. 40 minutes for the food to arrive when it did it wasn't as ordered, tomatoes missed, eggs missed, it was over cooked (crispy and hard) and barely warm The staff had no idea of table numbers and were looking all over to get the orders to the right customer. Also no tables had been cleared from previous diners so eating in an unclean area. Complained to the Premier inn who refunded the breakfast in full and we weren't the only ones to complain that morning. No issues with the premier inn. Sainsbury's is next door I'd use them in future for breakfast.

A nice meal this evening. Pleasant service from Jade our waitress. We had a well portioned Lasagna and a Tandoori mixed grill. Very well safe and social distance restrictions and safety measures in place during the covid restrictions. Nice atmosphere.

I when to the twirl of hay with my children and partner, the food was discusting.. The carvery was so disappointing.. We got charged extra for pigs in blankets and parsnips an when are dinners was brought they didnt have any but wasn't told when we ordered... My daugher had a kids meal with a burger the bun was so hard she couldnt bite through it.. So disappointing the staff was arguing amonst them self and we could hear it all. it use to be lovely food an its shocking how poor it has gone will not return

Everything great; food, prices, service, cleanliness and covid safety. Our waitress was Ellie who was lovely and Ash very helpful. We were met by Alex, different kettle of fish totally. She definitely needs extra training in customer service and her 'cannot be bothered ' attitude!! Pull your socks up lady or you will recieve complaints and lose custom.

2 meals for £8.99 and great well cooked, decent pub food. We ate Fish and chips, sausages &egg, burger, lasagna and smothered chicken, massive portions. Service excellent by Jade, bryani and the manager, who ran around and worked very hard. Jade gave amazing service, her manner was attentive and friendly. Absolutely worth an evening out for dinner for £8.99 for 2 meals, absolute bargain! Mon-fri offer. Loved our family dinner this eve. Thank you.

The Advertised meal was NOT what we received. It cost close on £50 per person and a ready meal from Asda would have been more enjoyable. It was a thrown together reheated frozen meal with paltry portions.Needless to say we complained to the staff and Brewer's Fayre. Even that was a poor response. Get it right - look after your paying customers otherwise you will all be looking for a job.Forget this restaurant if you want to hold a special occasion.

Great food freshly made to order. Alex kept us well topped up with coffee. Excellent service. Restaurant was clean but quiet due to covid restrictions. £8.99 for an all you can eat full English and continental breakfast you can't go wrong.

Called for a fri evening meal with the grandkids... so 4 of us in all.Booked about 4pm for meal just before 6pm... booking was easy and efficient by a lady with a lovely voice and phone manner.This was during tier 2 of Covid guidance We arrived early..were greeted at the entrance and shown to a table. The pub wasnt overly busy but did get more coming in after us.We had 3 courses overall...Two waitresses Jo and Debbie took our orders and served us.Always with a smile and efficient.We didnt feel rushed.... it felt a nice family occasion in these strange times we find ourselves in.So yes we enjoyed it and will be returning very soon ..

Had a lovely meal. Service was excellent. Hopfully will vist again when the restrictions ease. Felt sorry for the staff could only order a pint after we ordered a meal. But rules are rules.

Took the opportunity before Covid closures to have a meal. I had the Tandoori grill which is BIG and tasty. Perfect if you're hungry. My wife enjoyed her chicken burger. The whole experience was relaxing and enjoyable, thanks to Ash, who went out of his way to look after us and make sure we had all we needed. Superb, friendly service. Hope to visit again after the lockdown.

Food was very good, the fish in particular was very nice. They were very attentive with switching to suit taste. Service was not good. Staff were friendly, but were obviously overrun. We had to ask for refills multiple times as it didn’t come within a 30 minute period and then we ended up having about 3 drinks delivered at 1 time each. Many tables around us were also very agitated with the same issues.

Evening meal for two, we are currently staying at the nearby Premier Inn and took the opportunity to book a meal deal with the Brewers Fayre Twirl of Hay. We both had a main course and desert with a complimentary drink and were very pleased with the quality and quantity of food served. I thoroughly recommend the doom bar pie with mash and vegetables. My partner equally enjoyed her vegetarian chilli con carne. We would like to say thank you to the staff that served us, especially Jade who was our waitress for evening. Having had a stressful day at work and moving house, we chose The Twirl of Hay to have a drink, nice meal and chat. It certainly did not disappoint. Lovely welcoming service, very good covid measures that made us feel safe as soon as we walked through the door. Excellent service and the food was lovely. Reasonably priced too. We will definitely be returning.

Pasé a comer el miércoles por la noche y lo pasé de maravilla. Dado que no podemos hacer mucho en este momento, experiencias como esta significan mucho. Jo nos sirvió y ella fue absolutamente encantadora. Ella nos hizo sentir muy cómodos y realmente se tomó el tiempo para conversar con nosotros con un interés genuino en cómo éramos y se mostró como una chica muy cariñosa. Ella es un crédito para este lugar y definitivamente volveremos a visitarlo pronto, ¡con suerte antes de que se vaya a usar su increíble título universitario, nos dijo que está a punto de terminar! La comida también era deliciosa, el pastel de ternera y doombar es imprescindible, ¡comida de invierno perfecta!

Visited the restaurant for 2 consecutive evenings whilst staying in Premier Inn. The food was very good and service couldn't be faulted our server was jade who was a credit to the company. Highly recommended

Los desayunos eran adecuados, probablemente un 3. 5 estrellas.El personal fue amable y acogedor. Debido a covid, era solo servicio de mesa, a veces era difícil llamar su atención. Estaban ansiosos por el último pedido a las 915 pm.Había una miembro del personal (posiblemente llamada Alex) que era extremadamente amable, habladora y parecía dirigir el espectáculo.Desafortunadamente, la comida de la noche era inferior a la media, probablemente un 2 estrellas. Group of 6 for evening meal and breakfast (premierinn). Evening meal as expected. Mass produced but that was expected. Well organinsed breakfast allowing for covid- no longer help yourself but you could ask for more and our server was excellent. Nothing too much trouble

Nos hemos alojado en el hotel premier inn conectado varias veces antes y no tuvimos ningún problema con los Brewers Fayre anteriormente. Sé que estamos en momentos especiales en este momento con Covid y tengo todo eso en cuenta. Nuestra primera noche para cenar teníamos una mesa reservada para 7. 00 y apareció de inmediato. Nos dejaron parados desatendidos por unos buenos 5 minutos antes de que nos sentamos y nos dijeron que el camarero estaría con nosotros. 20 minutos más tarde logramos hacer un pedido de bebidas y comida al mismo tiempo, pero solo porque logramos captar la atención de la mesera, ya que ella asistía a otras mesas, cada una de las cuales había llegado después de nosotros. Luego le dijeron que acababan de vender el pescado. Eso solo dejaba hamburguesas, bistec y algunas otras opciones. Entonces cambié a scamp. Pasaron otros 10 minutos antes de que llegaran las bebidas. La comida otros 10 minutos después de eso (no es una queja tan feliz de que mi comida se cocine desde cero). Para ser justos, la comida era muy buena y sabrosa, pero me decepcionó que no tuvieran pescado cuando el menú ahora es tan reducido. Si no quiere una hamburguesa o un bistec, la elección es bastante limitada. A la mañana siguiente tomamos el desayuno por el que todavía cobran el importe total. Si quieres más té tienes que seguir pidiendo otra bolsita de té. No se le informó que aún podría obtener mermelada y mermeladas ya que la camarera lee todo lo que puede tener y usted selecciona. Tomamos nuestro té de Sainsbury's esa segunda noche ya que no queríamos la molestia de la primera noche. El segundo desayuno se empantana a lo largo de la línea de la cena de la primera noche. Tenía una mesa reservada para 9. 30 y llegó puntualmente. Nuevamente estábamos 10 minutos antes de que alguien viniera a sentarnos. Misma camarera que el día anterior. De nuevo, no se menciona si hay mermelada, etc. disponible. La única razón por la que sé que estaba disponible es que cuando estábamos a punto de irnos al final del desayuno, escuchamos a otro camarero preguntar a su mesa si querían algo con su desayuno. También nos dijeron cuando pedimos nuestro desayuno que la máquina de café estaba rota y nos dieron una bolsita de café. NO café de Costa e ilimitado como habíamos pagado. Solo una bolsita igual que en los obsequios de las habitaciones premier. No estoy contento con los precios de lo que obtuvimos. Tampoco culpo a las camareras que teníamos en general. Aunque muchas de las mesas estaban fuera de uso, solo tenían z un par de mesas esperando, limpiando mesas y recibiendo invitados. Esto hizo que el desayuno fuera especialmente incómodo ya que el personal prácticamente corría por todas partes mientras ordenaba y comía. No es un buen comienzo relajante para el día. Además, ninguno de los miembros del personal usaba máscaras faciales o seguía el sistema unidireccional. Empiece a contratar más personal para ayudar a los que ya tiene. Perdió nuestro negocio en la segunda noche y habría incluido nuestro desayuno del segundo día también si no hubiéramos pagado por adelantado.

Me alojé en el Premier Inn al lado y pagamos el desayuno caliente. Debido a Covid - 19 tuvimos que reservar una franja horaria, que era 6. 30 a. M. O pasadas las 9 a. M. Al llegar al pub, nos ignoraron durante más de 15 minutos antes de que finalmente nos llevaran a una de las muchas mesas vacías. La máquina de café dejó de funcionar a la mitad del desayuno y las "opciones" sin gluten eran tan limitadas que uno se pregunta cuál es el 8. 99 pagado. El pan de GF era absolutamente repugnante y no comestible. No recomendaría volver aquí y creo que Premier Inn debería considerar nuevamente su disponibilidad de alimentos para aquellos con sensibilidades / alergias, ya que la selección fue absolutamente impactante. Hubiera preferido visitar la casa de al lado de Sainsbury y comprar un desayuno decente por una fracción del precio.

Nos hemos alojado en Chester durante unos días y decidimos aprovechar el restaurante del hotel. Tuvimos el servicio más increíble de una camarera llamada Briney, ella fue brillante durante toda nuestra comida, nada fue demasiado problema y feliz de tener una pequeña conversación y responder a mis preguntas sobre el área local. Ella hizo nuestra noche. El caballero que fue el anfitrión (desafortunadamente no entendí su nombre) también fue brillante, muy amable y servicial.

We stayed for a weekend at the premier inn and booked meals here. The experience from start to finish in the restaurant was fabulous. The staff were attentive and very aware of distance and covid steps which each person was advised about on entry. All tables were distanced and cleaned thoroughly when someone left.I have eaten many times at this chain but can honestly say this was the best for staff, food and service. Thank you

I'd booked a table for dinner two months in advance so you can imagine after queuing to get in I was told computer error - the computer had given my booking a table number that didn't exist you can imagine my thoughts. We were eventually seated and told we had limited time. SUGGESTION FOR MANAGEMENT - CHECK ALL BOOKINGS IN ADVANCE SO THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN AGAIN TO SOMEONE ELSE.My son ordered steak I had the only vegan choice.Hungry, so we ate, my son said his steak was nice, my sloppy burger wasn't. It was, just, well, tasteless slop. Pudding was nice, wine and soft drinks good.I cancelled my evening booking for the next day.We returned the next morning and queued again (booked in advance)The continental breakfast was great, cook your own toast, get your own hot water etc. Great.Even with Covid rules surely tables booked in advance would be prepped in readiness? Service in this pub depends on who you get waiting your table. They are all really nice and tend to look after one who needs constant supervision - I was bought marmalade to have on my porridge lolololIf your vegetarian or vegan don't eat here - choices are poor. We ask head office to re-think their menu.I felt that overall the staff were doing their best but seemed very stressed during the evening shift the first time we went in. We went for a meal for the first time we were very weary and not sure what to expect everything was explained to us well and we were shown to our seat social distancing was amazing and we weren’t rushed at all and the food was amazing thank you for a relaxing experience

Lovely server, perfectly safe COVID safe environment spoilt be ordering BBQ smothered chicken only to find out when it was delivered they had run out of BBQ sauce. Sainsbury’s just across the road so not rocket science to solve the problem but nope. Just cheesy chicken and bacon for me. So disappointed.

I took my x 2 Children for a Birthday treat tonight, and after 6 months of not dining out, we were made to feel at ease, very welcome and we received great service from all of the staff who dealt with us ( Briony, Jacob, Ash, Deb and Arran). Even my 10 year old said to me ' What lovely people' about all of the staff who attended to us. I will definitely be visiting Twirl of Hay again and will reccommed to others. The service today was outstanding and the food was great !

Not a bad place for pub grub , service wasn't brilliant had to go to the bar several times to ask for drinks despite being told we were being looked after by **** and it was table service however due to the current circumstances it was understandable due to the very good Covid restrictions they had in place.The food was just average pub grub ! filled us up was substantial and what you would expect from a brewers fayre.

We stayed in the Premier Inn next door and have dinner and breakfast here. The food was good and we enjoyed both our meals. Nicola was super friendly and efficient. It was brilliant that even though they were busy she still took time to chat to us.Thank you Nicola.

Evening meal after visit to Chester Zoo. Staying at the next door premier inn, we ate here and enjoyed very good pub food. Ash and the team were first class in their service and customer service. In such challenging times the team here are doing an excellent job.

We visited the restaurant today expecting problems due to the virus. What we found was just the opposite The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The restaurant was busy but we were dealt with almost as quickly as it used to be before the virus struck. My wife and I both had the chicken curry which very tasty, hot and well presented. My son had a burger which he enjoyed. The atmosphere was very good.We were positioned away from the family area which was nice and quiet.We recently ate in Brewers Fayre in Essex and service there was bad and the food was not enjoyable. We had breakfast in a Brewers Fayre in Colchester and there the food was barely luke warm and we had to wait over one hour for service. Obviously conditions in the North are far better than in the SouthI can thoroughly recommend the Twirl of Hay in Chester. Considering we are having problems with social distancing the staff there are doing an excellent job.

Our first visit eating out with friends since lockdown. The food was good considering the menu was reduced. Our waiter was very helpful and nothing was a problem. Only complaint would be the tables were quite sticky...

After a long day in the office, i wanted something quick for dinner for my family and I.When I arrived I was Impressed at how organised everything and everyone was.I was quickly shown to my table (which i booked in advance) and was promptly asked for my drinks order.A young woman Nicola was exceptional in her service, with a young family i have young indecisive children and she helped in getting them to behave and finish their dinner.Another young woman stood out for exceptional service, Jade, generally welcoming and was quick to answer all my questions and respond to my service quires.Over all we exited with smiles. My family and I will definitely be coming back

Generally a pretty poor visit. We're travelling a few places in the UK, staying in Premier Inns and eating in their associated restaurants. We've had to eat the same meals for the last 3 nights because everywhere else was booked for the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. Totally understand these are strange times and it's not a great situation for anyone. However, table was really sticky.. not been cleaned for a while. For the 3rd night in a row, the restaurant didnt have my daughter's favourite meal. The tikka curry turned up with a stale naan bread that resembled card board. The popadom was so soggy, it resembled a wet tissue. Daughter's Poppin Chicken turned up with a grand total of 10 chips. When we asked if she could have a few more, the waitress got a bit stroppy, and said thats the childrens meal. This is the 3rd night she's had it.. and she certainly had a lot more in other places. The corn on the cob was cooked so badly it resembled yellow water. When we pointed this out, the waiter shrugged and said "oh, sorry". No solution suggested.. no one there looked like they wanted to be there. Awful attitudes. Real shame. We had booked for tomorrow night too, but will give it a miss and get a takeaway instead.

a last minute stay in chester left us struggling to find some were to go for tea so when we managed to get a table here we were very happy and just hoped the food woukd be nice .. we were not disappointed. Even though they are only serving a small menu at the moment there was still plenty of choice and at good prices too. We ordered 2 mixed grills and were very happy with the meal presented, especially the steak which was gorgeous. The staff were very friendly and helpful and lots of things put in place cleanliness wise to keep both customers and staff safe. Would certainly go again for a meal.

Going to The Brewer's Fayre Twirl Of Hay in Chester has become a welcoming respite from the hustle and bustle of the weekly grind. Attending the second day after opening since the restrictions have been lifted: our family were looking forward to going out for a meal and the crew at the Twirl of Hay hit the nail on the head. The entire experience was beyond pleasant, the team were all so friendly, the food was crisp and fresh, the procedures of hygiene followed to a T. While the menu was reduced to ease the effort for the kitchen team the range of products available were varied enough to be of little concern and a pleasant selection to cater to a majority. The attention by the dining floor team was incredible; regular chats, check ups and queries regarding the quality of food and service was reassuring especially with the knowledge of how feedback can be used to better future dining experiences for ourselves and other customers.Tl;dr great food, great service, 10/10, I personally advocate this restaurant and its colleagues. Come on by and have a safe experience

My partner said his fish was very nice, he had the large haddock. My smothered chicken was fine but rather on the dry side.

We as a family have been here a number of times over the years and the food has always been good and the service has always been good too, the reason for this review is regarding a visit we had yesterday for a five year old birthday get together. We had booked for ten people near the indoor soft play area which is normal for us. The Service we received yesterday was Exceptional Thankyou to Amy,Arron,Debs,Becky,and Nicola and the Team, we were looked after really well the birthday boy was treated so well and the staff even sang happy birthday to him.Keep up the Great Work!!!

We have just had a very nice meal here. We are staying next door at the Premier Inn and we thought the restaurant might be a bit basic but the meal we had was really very nice and the service was excellent and it was good value.

Went last Sunday for carvery, it was amazing nice and hot really enjoyed are meal. George who was serving us was very and helped carry my plate to the table. Thank you

Went for a meal here on Saturday came with the kids we had great food and great service, really good value for money we used the play area provided which let the kids burn off some energy, first visit will definitely be returning 😊

The food and service we received here was fantastic. Even though some items where missing form our meal (they had run out) the informed us right away and gave us a little extra of something else.

From the food to the staff it's all amazing the kids loved the play area and it gave me and my husband time to eat in peace which we don't get very often. Couldn’t tell you what the food tastes like. We reserved a table but had to ask the premier inn staff where our table was as the staff ignored everyone and just collected glasses. Even though it is relatively quiet they said it would take 40 minutes. We are still waiting and it’s been 80 minutes?!! Never had such poor service

Generally poor food, however, used to be handy for little one as she enjoyed the play area, until the management and staff became total jobsworths and ruined the literal only drawing factor of their establishment for us.

I came here with my 5 year old and a friend for a meal and catch up. The entrance fee to get into the play area is well priced and the little one throughly enjoyed it.

Visited for a for a quick bite to eat before heading home. We ordered ribs and a mixed grill which came out quickly. The mixed grill was cooked perfectly. I asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare and it came to our table medium rare as i had asked, the eggs were runny. the chef had done an excellent job. My partners ribs were delicious. The bbq sauce in which it was coated in was tasty.

Stayed at the Premier Inn Chester South East in January 2020 and decided to purchase meal deals for two nights, what a mistake that was!!!

Visited today for a large family gathering (30 of us) - service was spot on. Ash our waiter couldnt do enough for us all. Orders were correct and on time. We didnt need to ask for anything it was all thought of.

A lovely evening with great service and good food. Children’s meals were for £1 because it was between 3 & 6pm & were brilliant. A particular mention & well done to Jo in the children’s play area. You were polite, helpful and efficient. You also cared about what was going on in the play area and looked after it well.

We had booked a table for a large number of us. Staff were lovely and helpful. Lots of food to choose from on the continental buffet and the cooked to order hot breakfast was fabulous!

You can’t go wrong here to meals for less than £9 and kids eat for £1 between 3pm and 6pm you can’t go wrong!!! Great food, great value and friendly service what more can you ask for

Nice staff but don’t bother with the food bland not presented well all in all not a very nice dining experience and overpriced go somewhere decent it will probably cost the same and you will get decent food the 2 stars are for the staff

Visited today for breakfast, plenty of buffet choice & the cooked food was very nice thanks to Dave the breakfast chef. Alex who served us was very friendly & efficient. All the staff were nice & the restaurant was well organised.

Took 17 month old into toddlers play area . Constantly had older children coming in to use the small slide and climb over soft play items. Climbing up the slide whilst we were trying to put toddler on it. Spoke to mgt and girl at counter came to tell some children to go in large area for older children. As soon as she went back to the counter, with no visibility whatsover of toddler play area, they were back in. Absolute nightmare! Please go elsewhere as this place is not safe for your little one! No parental responsibility adhered to.

Nice hotel, conveniently located and staff lovely. Don’t bother with the pub next door! Food took over an hour to arrive after having to constantly ask for it then brought wrong order so had to wait again. When it arrived not the best and over priced for what it was.

The height restrictions on the play area should be reviewed with immediate effect.

I came here for breakfast and evening dinner and all members of staff where really helpful and went the extra mile to help myself and sophie with drinks and food. As sophie is a vegan the staff went out of their way to accommodate her needs. Carolyn and Alex where extremely helpful and friendly.

Fourth visit to these premises with Premier Inn. Still the quality of food and service very poor. Premises not very clean . Will never eat here again having purchased Premier Inn meal deal for two nights.staff unable to explain were the deal came into site. Was charged on my receipt for free drinks included in deal all because l purchased a separate bottle of wine.

We booked again for the second year running. I arranged the annual Christmas family get together at this restaurant and again, it lived up to every expectation. My wife and I arrived early but we were let to our table and were able to relax with a drink before the others arrived. We were seated bya lady in a red top who was happy to find us a smaller table due to two that couldn't make it. Food choice and quality were first rate. Great value. Friendly place. Couldn't fault it.

This was not my first visit. The restaurant was busy, but we had reserved a table and was placed in an area full of families with young children, we were near the play area.

Reserved a table for family birthday, warned there would be a 20 minute wait for food, ordered & had a drink while we waited. food was hot & well cooked, great value with our loyalty voucher, great to be able to top up soft drinks & hot beverages with no extra charge. Staff brought out the birthday cake & sang happy birthday, very enjoyable evening

It was cold outside and we had a table near an open fire in the pu, which made it feel very cosey.

We visit here quite alot as it's basically on our door step and is great for the kids :) the staff are amazing especially Debbie, ash, aaran, jake, jade, Chloe just to name a few :) food came out hot and the kids loved the play area! Big well done guys we will definitely see you again soon

Lovely staff. Very nice meal. First time here will definitely come back ! Unlimited drinks after first purchase. Table clean on our arrival and cleaned swiftly after we had finished our meal but leaving a nice gap first so we did not feel rushed. Thank you for a pleasant meal in nice surroundings.

Went on Sunday afternoon for a carvery and the young chef on the carvery is absolutely lovely, so friendly and caht do enough for the customers ge serves! A real credit, our meal was lovely

The premier inn is a lovely hotel but because it’s attached to the brewers fare we’re you have to eat is the reason Iv given it a one score

two Vegan options, no chips (meat/cheese in fryers,) , no sides, no starters, no pudding. left. a two for one, opposite cheshire oaks, has all 3 (3 puds) 4 mains ,they let us have roasties with menu choice.

Food not good once you waited for ever to get it. Staff don't care and just have excuses. Beer is poor and always seem to be waiting for a delivery. Don't bother, I'd rather getc a meal deal in sainsbury over the road.

Have had recent meals of the main menu that have been okay so we thought Sunday carvery would be ok too WRONG!!

Called in on passing, as we were hungrey, should have kept going on past. All 3 meals were `poor, and expensive for what they were. Will certainly not be on my return visit list

There food made my daughter vomit and after it going on since August all we got was an apology and no compensation! DO NOT EAT HERE

My self friends and family visited the twirl of hay last Tuesday 5th November late afternoon, on arrival the bar staff were welcoming and friendly. we decided to be seated in the soft play area, i was approached by Helen the staff member with a very warm and welcoming approach. Our order was taken efficiently, and all questions were ask if we wanted any side orders etc... The only let down was the coffee station area! Clean tea spoons should be provided at ALL times not used teaspoons in dirty water for me to rinse myself. otherwise not bad overall. Thank you Helen and Barman for your lovely service.

Shockingly rude staff and the place hasn’t been cleaned in a long time. Big kids in toddlers bit and staff stood on phones and looking as though the world owes her a living.

I visit this pub once every few months for a 'grown up' meal and it's generally alright. Infact, last month I visited for a birthday celebration and I had the vegan burger which was disappointing actually and dry with too much sauce. If you want a good vegan burger, sort out a mushroom burger with lots of nice herbs as some vegans can't eat soya. You can even get vegan mayo now. Top tip: make your menu very vegan friendly and even 'accidentally vegan' and your customer base will grow quickly. Anyway on our last visit, we all ate our food - my partner had a burger and the other guest had the sausage, egg and chips combo and they enjoyed it. I think visiting in the evening far surpasses visiting in the day as it goes.

Lovely meal , fab prices especially with taste card 2 for 1. Arran, Jacob and jade were nice and friendly and made the visit enjoyable.
