Brewers Fayre Bankhead Gate in Fife

The food was great and had a nice and relaxed atmosphere, very enjoyable lunch on our way home. Will definitely return next time we are in the area.

We were staying in the Premier Inn adjoining this establishment and after a busy day decided to have dinner here. Food was great, efficient service with a smile and very reasonably priced. It is a very popular place and was busy, even on a Sunday night.

Absolutely fantastic, all of the staff were incredibly friendly & attentive, especially Leanne & Robert. We had a large booking for 9 people which wasn’t too much for them at all, very clean and considering it’s the holidays so there were a lot of children the soft play area was also very clean & tidy. Cannot rate the staff highly enough, absolutely amazing! Thank you all!

Just back from Brewers Fayre, Bankhead Gate, Glenrothes. We were greeted by a nice young man named Ewan/Euan who showed us to our table. He was friendly, very professional and helpful. We could see the restaurant was short staffed and that he was by far the hardest worker on the floor/bar areas. However, when I ordered our food at the bar, my experience was not so good. I was served by a woman (don’t know her name as she wasn’t wearing a lanyard/badge but she walked with a limp and wore a red T shirt). She was unfriendly, made little eye contact, was abrupt in her manner and was also rude to Ewan in front of other customers. She did however chat away to another member of staff quite happily. The Manager Leanne was very friendly and looked busy too. The food was fine - average in terms of quality of food, but tasty and we had no complaints. The toilets definitely need painted and cleaned as there were dirty water marks on the walls etc and they didn’t smell very pleasant. Ewan did the place proud and deserves a positive personal development review following this review please! Thank you.

Went with friends for a catch-up with our kids. We're not actually from Glenrothes but picked here due to the kids play area and the website portraying a family restaurant. This could not be further from the truth. Went in around 6 and ordered at the bar about 6.30. The staff member behind the bar had the worst people person skills for working in this sector. I was greeted with 'what you wanting' followed on by 'you do ken the play area shuts at 7' - there is no mention of this on the website. The food came and it was okay, although the chips were a little undercooked and a very minimal portion. As the play area had shut the kids (a 2 year old, 3 year old, 7 year old and 8 year old supervised by an 18 year old and 11 year old) decided to play outside at the playground. After around 20 mins the same member of bar staff who served me went storming out telling the kids they can't play out there in the winter months. Again no sign advising this. Surely as the parents it was at our discretion as to whether we were okay with our kids being out there? I would have appreciated it more if a member of staff approached our table advising that it was at our own risk having the kids out there in the dark instead of her storming out at the children. After a while inside the kids got restless so played on the floor, at our table may I add. Of course they were giggling, being a little loud but they're kids playing on a Saturday night. Another staff member then told the kids 'they can't do that' again not speaking to the parents but speaking to the kids from a distance. After this we were then quite annoyed so just decided to leave. We walked past 3 staff members on the way out the restaurant with not one of them saying a thank you or even a bye. I have never experienced such poor customer service in a restaurant. And it was not just one member of staff it was every one we encountered. This really let the place down as we thought we'd found a great meeting place for us to have a catch-up and the kids to play but this has totally put us off. My 7 year old even said to me this morning 'the staff at that restaurant were not very nice' if a 7 year old can comment on that then I think you have an issue. Maybe updating some signs in regards to what children can and can't do (in this case it would be a sign saying they can't even be children) or maybe stop children coming in at a certain time if this is an inconvenience rather than treating people so rudely. A staff training course on customer service and people skills may also be an idea.

Even tho my review is slightly late i attended the above venue twice since and that reminded me. We booked in for Christmas Day Lunch this year with friends and it did not disappoint. Our table was ready on arrival, food was prompt and delicious and the staff even tho run off there feet were so cheery, well mannered and always smiling. Was well worth the money and would highly recommend. Well done team.

Well, what can I say? Thank you. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! My Stepfather was home alone on Christmas Day and Meals on Wheels don't deliver on Christmas Day. Robert, the Manager, very generously invited my Stepfather to join them for his Christmas meal. You are a kind, true gentleman Robert. My Stepfather thoroughly enjoyed his Roast Beef. Thank you for letting him join you, despite being fully booked.

Great food and service. I had smothered chicken, husband had rump steak. Well cooked and hot, mixed salad is great. Service was very quick even though restaurant was busy. Chocolate torte is amazing.

This is a nice bar with a friendly atmosphere. Staff are all very friendly, especially Kirsty. She always has a smile on her face, even when she is really busy. Nothing is too much trouble and she always makes an effort.

Lovely service with great food and drink especially the new veg lasagna. Kids enjoyed being able to use the play area as we were dining. Will be back

Came in for breakfast on Saturday morning, the buffet style breakfast was great for the money, the staff were lovely and welcoming. Great start to our day.

I booked a table for myself and my friends for dinner at Brewers Fayre. Firstly, the booking system was so simple, and you can easily make changes. We were greeted very friendly by the staff, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was wonderful. Orders made came on time and the food was delicious. On top of the lovely experience, the staff even surprised me with a congrats card for my graduation. I would highly recommend, and the prices are affordable and they also have great offers.

avoid brewers fayre My dad phoned up to make sure it was okay to just book in for the soft play (as the soft play near me was fully booked )and a light bite for the kids . That was fine according to the staff member who took the call . We waited in a cue at the bar to order for 24 minutes. We got 3 bowls of chips and one that I can only describe as scraps in a bowl . Leanne the ‘manager’ came over and when questioned on the portion sizes took a stern attitude with us infront of my 3 year old son and 4 year old little brother . Explaining that that’s standard to be served and if we think the kids will be using the soft play when we hadn’t ordered full meals we can think again. Then continued to explain in an argumentative tone that all the bad reviews online about her restraunt weren’t about her or her management skills . And is now walking passed us whilst the kids are eating scouring at us as if it’s our problem that her restaurant is ran how it’s ran . turning her nose up because we didn’t want a 3 course meal at 1 in the after noon . If it had been said when we called then fair enough but regardless I don’t appreciate and I don’t think any one would appreciate someone who’s meant to be proffesional speaking to me like that infront of 2 boys under the age of 5 and to use the kids play time to be spiteful is just pathetic 😂 your attitude is as poor as your food is Leanne X x x

Some of the staff were great others significantly less so, you can find better meals for less or the same money locally, none of my party enjoyed the food. Unfortunatley I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone set your sights a little higher.
