Brewer & Bean faces Sutton Pool, Plymouth's original harbour in the 'historic' Barbican area. It has some indoor and much more outdoor seating, the outdoor shared with The Ship next door (I guess it's the same company under the skin). Regrettable modern 'development' and the addition of a lock to make the formerly-tidal Pool usable as a marina - now full of glossy modern boats - has erased all sense of history, but nevertheless Brewer & Bean should be a good place to grab a coffee while waiting for the ferry to Royal William Yard. It isn't: at a quiet time - no queue at the bar, and the seating I guess about 10% occupied - our cappucinos must have taken at least 20 minutes to arrive. The coffee wasn't awful, but it was certainly no better than the average Costa. I wouldn't go there again.

Popped in for a drink whilst down on the harbour. Friendly and helpful young girl working- she was very busy too and apologised for the short wait. Very modern coffee shop with outdoor seating (dog friendly). Fantastic choice of coffees and other drinks-alcohol too. We had a gingerbread latte, a normal latte and the deluxe hot chocolate. All served quickly and presented well. Would highly recommend.

? ? ? Absolutamente sorprendido

The coffee was great the Barista lovely and chatty great service BUT let down by filthy toilets and we judge a place by its toilet cleanliness what a shame after a great experience at their place in Padstow.

Through working in coffee, discovering new coffee shops is part of the role, and this is definitely up there with the best. Even better, is it is local to me. The interior is stylish, contemporary and comfy and us right next to the water. The customer service is just how it should be, friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. And the coffee.... although supplied by one of our competitors is really good and made by skilled staff. Definitely put this place on your list of must visit coffee shops. The reason for 4 rather than 5 stars.... no bacon sandwich option! Fingers crossed this may come soon.

As a coffee shop owned by St Austell brewery they can afford to close in the winter and they have done so until the end of March on the day that the government say Britain will leave the EU. The notice on the door says that coffee etc can be sought from their pub next door.

We called in for an Americano on October 20th. The coffee was brought to our table. It looked insipidly weak, was weak and was also incredibly bitter in taste. I returned to the counter to complain and was told that it had two shots in it. They must have been off target! We were given an extra shot but the coffee was still terrible. If you like good coffee, stay clear of this place.

A nice little place where you can order your drinks and snacks and go sit outside for those artisan summer days by the quayside, clean tidy and the staff were very friendly, should I be down that end of the country again I shall be definitely making a second visit.

My wife and I stopped in here with a friend with whom we were visiting. She'd recommended it and we were not disappointed. The Coffees and the Latte we had were excellent and our server quite friendly and professional. Have one of the delicious pastries on offer as well. You won't go wrong.

Called in at 2:25pm Friday afternoon and no one was there to take my order. After waiting an age I went to the pub next door for a coffee. Not much point in advertising as a coffee specialist if you haven’t enough staff to man the counter on a Friday afternoon. Can’t give more than one star for zero service!

My espresso and my companion's latte were excellent. Many of the tables have mains and USB sockets adjacent, so would be suitable for catching up on work or communications. Only downside was the water: I'd asked for a glass of tap-water and was directed to a container of chilled water. Unfortunately, it was "flavoured" with slices of lemon, lime and cucumber. Whilst this may be to some people's taste, it really isn't what you want to sip with an espresso!

I often stop here before work for a coffee and a bite to eat. The sandwiches are the standard brunch style fare with flavours like ham and cheese, and chicken and bacon, but they're normally pretty filling for the price.

Friday morning we called in for cup of coffee . We were greeted by a nice friendly lady who was very helpful . I was pleasantly surprised how well they cater for my dietary requirements both Gluten free and Dairy free . I had a choice of two different milk’s Soya or almond and a choice of four different cakes I went for a almond milk latte and a chocolate brownie . Plus they had two cakes on offer for vegans .

Walking beside Sutton Harbour I saw this new coffee shop in the Quay Road strip of businesses and worked out that it had replaced Buritos. It has been completely and smartly refitted. It is part of the coffee shop arm of St Austell Brewery and adjoins the next door building the St Austell pub called The Ship. B&B; do all the usual types of coffee, tea and have big cakes, muffins and lots more not least sandwiches, wraps etc. I got the impression that customers can use the fenced and covered area outside which is allied to the pub but inside is a roomy place to while away time with coffee. Perhaps a bit too smart and finished for me to feel relaxed and to that extent a bit out of step with most Barbican catering. I won't miss Barritos.

Typically great brewdog atmosphere and like normal the bar staff have good music taste. Impressive guest drinks selection, and awesome food menu. Love the buffalo sauce they use here. Really do like the atmosphere. If the drinks were a little cheaper I’d sit and drink for hours.

Ordering a takeaway with my kids, you have nowhere to wait, then you get pushed out of the way by other customers, then when your order is ready, you can't get it. Because of the customers. And students 🤦🏻‍♂️ staff are awesome, super friendly.

Avoid at all costs. Unpleasant people who have no idea of a community pub. No care in the world other than themselves.

We booked for Sunday lunch at Mayflower Brasserie, and having attended a wedding at the hotel, were looking forward to our lunch. We had duck pate to start and it was lovely, but to be honest you can’t go wrong with a slice of toast, a dollop of pate, a spoonful of onion marmalade and a micro greens garnish. Very tasty. We waited 20 minutes for our main of beef wellington. Unfortunately we both had to send the food back as it was barely warm and not pleasant to eat. Another long wait and new plates arrived. They were warmer than the first but far from hot food. We ate it and it was very tasty. Then came deserts. We ordered apple tart with clotted cream. Unfortunately it came with ice cream instead of clotted cream. As if we needed more cold food! I removed the ice cream and ate the tart. It was delicious but very small. When we paid they had given us our drinks free to compensate for the cold mains, and discounted the price of the tarts to compensate for the serving error. Overall, I am disappointed with my Sunday lunch. Service was exceptional but the food was a let down. Cold, small portions, and not as described on the menu. Even with the discounts our bill was over £100 for the two of us! We went home and had a sausage sandwich as we both still felt hungry. Needless to say, We shan’t go again
