Nice restaurant with really great serving staff. Highly recommended for a special meal.

Went for the Wednesday steak night deal and had 2 perfectly cooked 8oz Rumps with 2 a lovely fresh tasty salad a big portion of fries and 2 sauces all with a bottle of house white all for £44 so £50 with a small tip.Great service , great food , great atmosphere and we will be back for our 3rd visit very soon. Well done to the team.

The only place we ever eat at, while visiting Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth, the Blanc Brasserie has an excellent menu and very attentive staff. Our only complaints: 1. Dirty table on arrival. We asked for it to be wiped properly and it was addressed immediately with appropriate apologies. (Details are important!). 2. The price of wine is ridiculous. We therefore do not drink wine there which is a shame as we really enjoy a glass with luncheon. But paying over £9 a glass would be encouraging such practice. That said, the service was excellent, food sublime and reasonably priced.

Not enough time allowed to enjoy food

Had been here earlier in February and enjoyed my meal. However did not feel what we had on this occasion was as good and certainly not worth what we paid. Disappointing.

We arrived WITHOUT a booking and were greeted by Ben who explained that he’d just seated several large tables and because he didn’t want us to be disappointed with the service asked us to relax at the bar for a short while. It was fortunate that we arrived as “happy hour” was ending, but he still went that extra mile to ensure we didn’t miss out on the happy hour opportunity. Our meals were fantastic. The steaks were tender and beautifully cooked. The flavours of the whole meal were fantastic and the food was served on hot plates. Then to top it all, I had the pistachio soufflé and my husband, the crumble and custard. Both were the icing on the cake for our dining experience! Thank you to our waitress Alisha, who was cheerful, polite and efficient. Just wish we lived near by as we’d certainly be regular customers. Thank you to everyone for a lovely dining experience!

Shame ghey no longer do the special lunch menu. We chose burgers, and we were really glad we had they were delicious and the best fries I have ever had.

Lovely elegant place to eat serving good food and quality beers and excellent wines

We came here for my husband’s birthday dinner, it was amazing. The food and the service were very well (thanks Katie for your lovely smiling and help ☺️), recommended.

Bustling, friendly and delicious! Having not been to BB for a few years, I was delighted to return and enjoy fine quality food, professional, attentive service in a welcoming atmosphere.

My wife and I were really looking forward to our first visit to a Brasserie Blanc but we left disappointed and doubt we would return. Positives: The staff were friendly and the décor/atmosphere was nice. Negatives: Drinks were expensive (£18 for half bottle of Sauvignon Blanc). Food (starters and mains) was OK but rather bland - we didn't get any wow from the flavours. We also felt that the service was too rushed. Starters were served 20 minutes after we were seated and mains followed 15 minutes later. Our meal and night out was effectively over after 50 minutes. We dragged it out a little with some overpriced spritzers but if the table is ours for at least 2 hours, why the rushed food service?

I visited on a Sunday just after the Sunday roasts when the Al a carte menu was issued. I was looking forward to a fillet steak, which I mentioned to the Maitre d', but it wasn't until I had ordered wine and water that I was informed they had no fillet, nor did they have duck, chicken or pork. So I was left with the lamb, which was ok, I would say a little over cooked, and accompaniments a little lacking. The service was the only saving grace, very polite and well mannered. The atmosphere was very loud with kitchen/bar noises, despite sitting in the furthest point away from both. Lots of loud chatter from very few filled tables. Prices are reasonable, I've been to more expensive places without the famous chef name drop. Minor last gripe, I ordered a flat white and it was served in a regular drinking glass, so no handle or thermal wall, meaning I had to wait quite a while to drink or it was very uncomfortable to hold.

It's not great if you're vegetarian, definitely a meat and fish heavy menu.

Mediocre food, good service, average ambiance Sunday roast was ok but cold roast potatoes and Yorkshire pud, beef was good but let down by other components, cheese souffle was so light it nearly flew off the plate, throwing a little crumble material over fruit was tasty but not a real crumble

It was a busy night for a Wednesday but Hannah and Mex, great Farrah hair, were brilliant. They were professional and lovely to us. If we had any questions they got us the answers. The food was lovely. I had the lamb and my wife had the trout. Both dishes were lovely. I would recommend Brasserie Blanc if you visit Gunwharf Quays

Absolutely loved the place. My nieces bought me a voucher for my birthday and I must say I was the best present ever.

Lunch for 2 on Saturday. The sausage salad starter was excellent, different and tasteful. Toulouse sausages were the usual garlicky triumph, burger delivered and sticky toffee pud finished things in style. What was most impressive about this visit was the waiter/ server ( sorry didn't get your name) who picked up we were on our tight timeframe and ensured the pud was delivered without wait and accompanied with the bill and the card machine. First time dining at brasserie blanc and was pleasantly surprised. Food tasted delicious and came out promptly. Our server was a little moody, but did not taint our experience. I would return :)

So this place is really cool if you are not French but when you know how a gratin dauphinois or tartiflette is made mhhhhhh you're kinda disappointed but it was still very good and the server was nice

I eat here regularly with my husband. We are both vegans and they have a good range of vegan choices for starters and mains and always at least one vegan dessert. Food is always well cooked and tasty, and we feel it is particularly good quality for this price point. Service staff are friendly and helpful. Recommended.

I do love coming here - it's a proper brasserie: not overly fussy or complicated food, just really well done at an excellent price. I always think it's a good sign when an eatery is prepared to show you their kitchen, and this one is as serene and pristine as they come. The french fries are to die for, but I could just as easily make a whole meal out of their fresh bread and dips. The staff are lovely and the whole place has a chilled, cosy atmosphere. Definitely a place to enjoy if you're also a cash strapped foodie :)

Went there for a works lunch, the food and service were excellent.

We came here for Xmas dinner and the menu is awesome. The beef is so tender and delicious highly recommended. Portions are really filling. We weren't amazed by their cocktails I had to send mine back because they had no raspberries left to make it but still brought the drink to me which was like water.

Very nice vibe/atmosphere in restaurant. The food was OK. Nothing outstanding about the food, but it was nice. Roast was abit dry so we had to keep getting more gravy. Thankfully it was bottomless. The potatoes and yorkshire are also bottomless but didn't get more of those and didn't finish the ones we had due to the taste. Potatoes tasted like they had been cooked, frozen and then recooked.

Excellent food with very good and friendly service

Everyone else's food looked great, however, my daughter and I had the Mushroom gnocchi, and although it tasted great it was a tiny portion. Restaurants need to remember that veggies and vegans aren't on diets!

It was OK as far as Xmas parties go. My food was OK but some colleagues had cold or tough food. It was a struggle to pay for drinks separately, bar would not serve us had to order drinks from waiters who wouldn't let us pay as we ordered (after being advised otherwise). Waiting staff put in a big A for effort.

Service slow despite being very quiet. Food overpriced and not as good as 5 years ago when we last visited wouldnt go back.

Had set menu, starter and main lovely, dessert disappointing. Wait staff were lovely, non alcoholic cocktail also disappointing and quite highly priced.

Popped in for lunch as respite from shopping till we drop. Prix fixe menu offers pretty good value with range of options. 375ml house wine carafe expensive though. Staff were cheerful and helpful, worth visiting.

Fantastic experience. Booked a table ready to pay the price for the assured quality I expected. I wasn't disappointed on the quality, but was amazed at the value for money. Subscribing to the 3 course set menu and fortuitously coinciding with happy hour our drinks were half price.

2nd time visiting this classy eatery. Staff very welcoming and know the menu, food was exactly how I remembered from the year before. Very busy but atmosphere is far from overwhelming. Would highly recommend the chateaubriand and the pork ribeye.

Been going to Gunwharf over 10 years. I found Brasserie Blanc an ideal place to sneak off to and have a quiet drink and avoid the mania of Liquorist, AB1 etc. I think they have very little turnover of staff which is good what isn't good is that the bar area has really deteriorated and gone downhill. It used to be so smart and clean and a lovely little bolthole for a drink but now don't bother it really is not nice at all. BB need to spend some money and bring the bar area up to standard, the seat pads are rotten!!

Celebrated my 70th with 7 friends on Saturday evening, the staff and manager were excellent our waitress Mexi was so caring and very helpful nothing not too much trouble would definitely recommend for a special occasion , they let me decorate the table which made it more special

Beautifully delicious food & excellent service

Dropped in for a quick lunch before the ferry. Lovely staff and nice table. Toulouse sausages were excellent but the cheese soufflé was quite cold and had to be sent back. They no longer use heated pans to serve the soufflé because a couple of people managed to burn themselves! Regrettably, therefore, the item is no longer worth ordering; health and safety strikes again! This left my wife with no lunch because there was no time to prepare a replacement dish. In fairness, the restaurant removed the food charge, but that isn’t really the point. No expert, but I would imagine that you can’t reheat soufflé effectively without adding direct heat from the bottom. Shame, as it was a signature dish.

Extremely enjoyable fine dining experience. I booked for a group and the reservation process was excellent, very organised and all meals could be pre ordered. The dishes were great, and the veggie options didn’t feel like an afterthought! Great flavours and unique flavour combinations. My friends ordered meat dishes and the feedback was fantastic. I ordered the pistachio soufflé and it was delicious.

The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. All the food served is tasty and freshly cooked. The wine is amazing and fantastic value for money. The atmosphere is also pleasant, which is an added bonus. I thoroughly recommend visiting this restaurant.

We and our 2 friends after a long trip we were just looking for the perfect restaurant where we can rest a little bit and far from the busy by the way it has good atmosphere… so We found it - Brasserie Blanc! 👍🏻 The food and the staff is perfect ‘n’ gorgeous!👌🏻 Everything is really tasty and juicy. Visited for the first time on Friday evening, had not booked but was accommodated as a walk in. Food was excellent, service was the best I’ve had in a long long time when eating out, Mags who looked after us was brilliant, very knowledgeable about the menu offerings and put forward great recommendations for food and wine selections, we will definitely be back.

We took advantage of the 25% discount ( signed up for emails) and enjoyed a delicious meal: cheese soufflé/ smoked trout starters; duck confit/ pork ribeye mains; crême brûlée/ pistachio soufflé desserts. All delicious. The staff were great - courteous and efficient. Special mention to our lovely waitress, Eloise, who was very smiley, attentive to our wishes and very hardworking (when not serving us she could be seen efficiently wiping down and re-laying tables with great care and speed). We highly recommend Brasserie Blanc at Gunwharf, Portsmouth.

You might not expect an excellent meal from a chain but this place makes a really nice meal. I will definitely come back again.

Can’t speak highly enough of Brassier Blanc manager and waiting staff. Staff go above and beyond to accommodate our needs, hence the reason for our return visit. The waitress remembered us from our visit last year and even remembered the table we had sat at. Food is amazing with a good vegan selection, relaxed atmosphere and great staff. Will be back again in December for our Christmas shopping trip.

My favourite local restaurant that never disappoints. The staff are always welcoming and their service is spot on. The menu choice is great and the steak is the best in the area.

We booked for a special lunch on Saturday as we had previously eaten at the Chichester Brasserie Blanc and loved it. Our waitress was exceptional ( wish I could remember her name ) She obviously noticed I sat down rather gingerly having hurt my back and immediately appeared with a cushion! She recommended an absolutely delicious Cabernet Sauvignon too. Food was very good, my husband's steak was cooked perfectly. I loved my lamb, but wasn't keen on the lamb jus. Recommend you save room for dessert as ours were fabulous, my sister came the week before and told me to have the pistachio souffle......hate it when your sister is right! 😂absolutely gorgeous 😋

This was a virgin experience voucher for my birthday. I was not disappointed. From booking, the staff were very helpful. On arrival, we were greeted, given our menu and taken to our table. The restaurant was very busy and lots of staff. The bar area & restaurant was very clean & tidy and the set up was planned well with small tables for solo eaters or couples and larger tables for families and large parties. Our waitress arrived and introduced herself and took our drinks order ( included in the voucher) and our choice from the menu and also offered a large cravat of water. Our food arrived quite promptly, we both chose cheese souffle for starters with cheese sauce, my had pork rib rye for mains and I chose lamb roulade. Both mains were hot, presented well and tasted delicious. For desert, we both chose chocolate orange. Again very tasty. All the staff were friendly and attentive. Considering it was a virgin experience, the whole evening was very enjoyable and well worth it. Thank you for making our experience an enjoyable one.

Lovely restaurant in Gunwharf Quay. Every bite of everything we ate was outstanding. Friendly, attentive service keeps the place from being stuffy despite a quite elegant dining room.

Food was above and beyond expectations and excellent value for money.

Good & you know what to expect. Bit rushed as our drinks (bloody Marys) arrived not long before the starters. High points for me were the cheese soufflé starter (a reason for choosing a weekend break somewhere that has a BB) & the chocolate délice dessert.

Great food, great service and relaxing atmosphere. I had the squid and chickpea stew which was delicious. Washed down with a glass of rosé, followed by champagne truffles and coffee. Perfect lunch.

One of our favourite restaurants to go to in Portsmouth, can always count on having great food and service! It was quite busy as a few large groups in there (Saturday night rush) so drinks and food took a little while but the staff were fantastic and kept checking on us. We had a few people with allergies and they took such care with making sure everything we ordered would be okay. As always, the food was fantastic. Worth the wait.

Excellent evening dinner last night. Starters were delicious and the filet steak was amazing. I would say that the salad with the steak could have been slightly larger. Our waitress, Mex, deserves special mention for being friendly and attentive. She came and apologised for the slight delay between our starter and main, however we hadn't noticed and prefer not to be rushed when eating. She was a credit to the team and we will certainly be returning next time we visit Portsmouth.

We arrived early to our booking about 15 mins, it seemed as if that was inconvenient to the staff at first (the place was dead) and we had booked we were just early. We were taken to our table my partner asked if we could sit near the window, that was again met with the attitude of too much trouble and apparently you can request to sit near a window at booking ( no option on website) apparently regulars request those tables. We noticed another table were brought water there’s were poured for them, our jug was just plonked on the table with two glasses. I just feel as I wasn’t dressed up in a shirt or suit we were judged (I wasn’t in anyway scruffy) but to how the staff can make their judgments I will never know. They have no idea who we were. Shame as we could have been their best customer yesterday. Food was ok wouldn’t rave about it. I dont know if yesterday was just an off day for the team or if it was because we weren’t regulars. But we won’t be returning

my friend & i went to brasserie blanc at gunwharf for a special birthday treat. We both had the set lunch menu which was delicious & great value for money. Our lovely waitress Leigh could not have been nicer & more helpful, she was great & even got us a bday glass of prosecco each. Would thoroughly recommend this dining experience
