Will definitely be staying here again, 100% thank you to all the staff! Hope to see you all again soon Property was really nice I contacted the hotel in the morning of the booking and said that I would be around 8:45 pm to check in and if the restaurant would be closed they did say it would be closed but they would stay open and wait for me to get into my room and order whatever I liked after getting into my room went downstairs and ordered and was freshly prepared even though they waited for me for nearly half an hour 45 minutes staff was absolutely bang on at the night time and in the morning at breakfast I travel to Glasgow every now and again delivering classic cars and they even made a spot out front for me to park the truck, This will now be my primary location to stay when I next go to Penrith

Didn't stay the night only went for food but my God it was unbelievable, all freshly cooked, the staff were amazing so friendly and accommodating and even gave my boys a Easter egg as we were leaving which was the cherry on the cake, would highly recommend here and next time we come up the lakes we will be coming back

My family and I stopped for a delicious homemade meal after a fun day biking at Windlatter mountain biking. The staff were fabulous and supported getting delicious homemade food to 4 hungry children. The homemade deserts were so fabulous.

Excellent from the offset! Management are very attentive and you can't beat a great night's sleep in the comfy beds. Breakfast is faultless with plenty of options inc a packed lunch if you're on the go! Will definitely return

While looking for food we stumbled on this lucky find. The Bothy is a very welcoming themed cafe, due to most other venues in Kirby Stephen only serving drinks that day the bothy was busy but we still received a warm welcome and advised we would have a wait, we didn’t mind so placed our order. The food was different, not the cheapest but absolutely delicious, the staff even though very busy were so polite and kept us informed of progress with our order. A bit more of an offer for children would be a bonus.

We go to The Bridge about 4 times per year. We are not very extravagant but when we do eat out we want it to be better than I can make at home. Any guest we bring with us all love it too. Every meal we’ve had here has been excellent! My favourites are Twice Baked Cheese Soufflé, The Seafood Linguini, my hubby loves the Fish & Chips (he has this every time he goes, lol) . My son loves the Squid starter and I also love the Pate when it’s on. I had a gorgeous fish course in spring but I forget the name of the fish which was the whitest fish I’ve ever seen. I highly recommend Bridge Bistro.

Absolutely beautiful, and cosy. Feels like a real authentic old fashioned style pub, with a live fireplace and plenty of Christmas decorations. For us Aussie’s, it was a real treat to experience it! All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Service was like a well oiled machine! We ordered the Sunday roast and it didn’t disappoint one bit. Highly recommend coming here if you come to the quaint town of Penrith. Also pet friendly which was an added bonus!!

Visited on a Friday evening, the place was very quiet with only 3 other diners, however there was a steady stream of takeaway customers. The decor and atmosphere is welcoming and the staff are very nice and efficient. The food was great and very tasty with plenty of choice, I would definitely return.

Extraordinarily bland food. Not even spicy, just unseasoned and uninspired, both in the overall experience and the dishes. The chips as a starter were basically Doritos with canned tomatoes; not even real salsa, and plain tasteless guacamole and sour cream. Very poor start. Our mains of beef tacos and chicken burrito were incredibly disappointing. Dry tasteless corn tortillas (clearly old and over heated) were served with under seasoned ground beef and not much else of note. Burrito was more than 50% flour tortilla and the rest was completely tasteless chicken and white rice. No sauce, no cheese, no spice. Both were served with ‘Mexican rice’ which was plain white rice and a tiny bit of chopped onion and jalapeño. Again, bland. Our margaritas were quite unbalanced; weak, far too much lime juice and salt. Staff were ok; food was delivered quickly, but weren’t interested in providing good service and didn’t check on us once. And at £17 for a main, not even good value, especially considering the portion size. There ARE good Mexican restaurants in the UK, but this is not one of them. It’s as if the kitchen staff haven’t ever heard of spices or sauce! If your idea of spicy and adventurous is an English Tikka Masala, you might enjoy it. If you’ve ever had real Mexican food or even tex-mex, steer clear. I can’t imagine why I’d return here any time soon. Definitely not recommended I’m afraid.
