A little bit like the film 'Deliverance' - old white men sat around discussing vile outdated opinions on race, sexuality and the female of the species. They'll all be pushing up daisies very soon. God rest their vacuous souls. Amen. The food was terrrrrrrible. The coffee worse. Do not bother.

A proper breakfast with pot of tea ( 2 mug fulls) which comes with the food 😋it’s where the locals go, cheapest in the town. Try the home made scones too 😋😋😋

The cafe itself looks a bit tired but we had a generous cream tea and coffee at a good price. Not welcoming but good value for money and we chose to sit outside in the sun.

Was very apprehensive for some reason when we walked in. From the outside it looked very welcoming. Big mistake inside. Asked for 2 Americans seeing advertised ‘specialist coffee’ to be greeted with oh 2 black coffees! They were wishy washy instants despite the juke box of a coffee machine, tepid with ‘froth’. Quite disgusting! Not very welcoming either. This is purely a quick fix greasy spoon never to be repeated.

The signs offered some nice items to go with our cups of tea. One of the items we ordered was a toasted teacake. It took for ever to come all had drink 2cups of tea eaten our hot sausage roll and a custard Danish before the tea cake come to our table. When I did come out it was cold and not nice. The only that was any good was the cup of tea

Came here for breakfast and it was surprisingly good. The place doesn't look much but it provides great value home style cooking. The full English was really good and excellent value, staff were friendly and welcoming and it looks like they have a lot of regulars too.

Brambles isn't the smartest place in town it needs updating. That being said, we had a wonderful cream tea. Two large scones with two packs of strawberry jam and a generous amount of clotted cream. The cup of tea was very nice and well worth ignoring the decor for. At £7.50 for two it was extremely good value for money. Don't judge a book by its cover.

I went there for a coffee - after all it's name is Brambles COFFEE SHOP. First of all I looked for the bean to cup coffee machine and couldn't see one, so immediately became suspicious that the coffee would come from a basic coffee machine which I would not like at all. I can make better coffee than that at home. Then I smelled it - the odour of grease, which filled the whole place. This is not a coffee shop at all, I thought, it's just a "greasy spoon" type of cafe. As I walked out I glimpsed at the menu and that's exactly what it is - everything is fried food from what I could see. This might serve good food if you like that sort of thing, but not for me

Old style Cafe with a pleasant owner. Freshly cooked baguettes for lunch were delicious and very reasonable In price. Have visited a few years back and enjoyed our cream tea immensely so we returned, especially. Maybe could do with a face-lift but not if prices sky rocket! A little gem for us holiday Makers.

This is a lovely cafe and one of my 'must visits' when we come to visit family in Minehead. It is completely friendly from the moment you walk in, is good value and most importantly serves good, tasty food. No gimmicks or pretences, just a lovely place to stop for a cuppa or bite to eat.

£3.50 for a cream tea which is a bargain and what's even better is that it tastes amazing. Our scones were freshly baked and came with plenty of jam and clotted cream. My son had a sausage roll and said that was really tasty too. We come here every year and the owner is always very friendly too. We will be back next year

Had an English breakfast here. Fantastic food, served quickly. £4 is very cheap. They didn't mind changing an egg for some mushrooms, which can be an issue elsewhere. Large portions. Overall lovely food. Came back the next day but it was closed it's one street from train station, on a corner of 2 streets and a couple of minutes from the sea front.

Although I often pop in here for a coffee, it is impossible to avoid the feeling that everything here is wearing out. The chairs and tables are old fashioned, and I guess that money is the issue in not replacing them. The welcome is friendly enough, but some work is needed.

Brambles looks OK from the outside, but once you get inside you can see that, although the place is clean, the decor is very tired. It could do with a revamp. The cream tea was very nice and very good value. It consisted of two scones (you had a choice of fruit or plain), clotted cream, jam and a pot of tea for £3:50 per person. What spoiled it for us, and stopped us giving it a higher rating was the behavior of the proprietor and three of the customers - for the entire time we were in the cafe they were setting the world to rights, slagging off everything in sight. We went into this cafe for refreshments, not a political lecture. We will not be going back again.

Visited Minehead today for a day out and after strolling along the prom and playing with the dog for an hour on a cold windy beach fancied a coffee. Came across Brambles and ordered cream teas - 2 large scones, lashings of creams and jam with a nice coffee, and all for the super value of £3.50Saw other meals coming out which looked really good and cake counter was well stocked and inviting.Everything was priced very reasonable and a good selection available. The venue was clean and tidy just like it should be as well.Credit to the owner for a good job done, making you feel welcome and taking the time for a chat.Would I go back? - of course I would. Highly recommended

We popped into Brambles as we were passing by during a walk into Minehead. We were greeted by lovely staff and ordered milkshakes and hot drinks with tea cakes all round. What a lovely experience, being visitors to the town it was lovely to be made welcome and to enjoy the pleasant atmosphere in there. We had two young children with us and everyone treated us lovely. Excellent service and good prices too. I must say the popular cream teas look beautiful. Excellent pit stop if your visiting.

I have now reached the 56 year mark and after the time I have had since April I value every day far more than I did and take each day as it comes and expect to be taken as I am by others. In all my visits to Exmoor with my parents when I was growing up and when I returned back down with my lovely wife and various dogs over the years we have never been in the White Horse. As we were staying at Court Farm in Snowdrop we took the chance on a filthy night to venture in to the bar at the White Horse. I really liked the set up=looked like church or chapel pews and plenty of country pictures and items on the walls-how it should be. The gentleman serving says Mark on the receipt was a lovely gent pleasant and hosting without any airs or graces-helpful and considerate. Meal wise we had One Trout in Almonds served with new potatoes and seasonal veg well cooked and well presented and One Flat Iron Steak cooked medium which again was very well cooked and well presented. Managed one sticky toffee pudding and one raspberry brulee washed down with Guiness and Exmoor ale, the waiting staff were pleasant and effecient and the chef has an odd sense of humour but having come from that background I enjoyed that. Excellent meal in wonderful surroundings

This is our second time visiting in as many years. The first year was passable as ok. This time around was absolutely shocking. The food was possiblity the worst pub food we have ever tried. I have no idea what the cook done to the chips but they were swimming in grease and the same for the gammon. The kids pasta was over microwaved and the peas were cold. The service was equally as shocking. The venue was pretty empty so was a bit annoyed when we had to wait and ask for our deserts. When they came out, our table still had all the dirty main course plates on it, however the server placed the deserts down on the table amongst them. When she removed the dirty plates she did not ask if everything was ok,so we made a point in telling her it was bad. Disappointingly though she dismissed it and nothing was said. Ignore the posters throughout offering 25% off food for military as there are so many conditions that you don't get it. And to top it off the two men's cubicles at 14:00hrs on a quite day were covered in s*"t. Avoid unless you are desperate.
