Been here twice in the last week. We had a fabulous lunch on Sunday. Called again today with family. Meals were all excellent. Proper home cooked food at a reasonable price. Also dog friendly.

Don't bother to visit here for Sunday lunch unless you have pre booked. We went in at 1 pm & there was a table available. However, when we tried to order lunch, we were told that they couldn't accommodate our order as the kitchen didn't have enough food. Ironically, they would be able to accommodate us at 2.30pm ! Not sure where the food would have been magically found from by then ! Needless to say, we will NOT be returning here .

Parked in Knott end in the free...car park. Hopped on the ferry to Fleetwood, for a quick run round the market, then ferry back for lunch at this super pub. Quite busy, but the food arrived promptly. Served with real chips and delicious creamy mash. Good selection of ales, pleasant staff, fabulous views. Would go again.

Decided to stop here for Sunday lunch before a walk on the waterfront. Found a table outside and then went to the bar. Ah, said the barman, do you have a reservation? No, I replied. Oh, I’m sorry we can’t serve you then. Reservations only for food. I’ve checked the website, read the menus in the notice boards and I can’t find any mention Of needing to book. So we made our way up the road and had a delicious lunch at the Knott End Cafe.

Had Sunday Dinner here with family, including two with Coeliac / gluten free requirements- Bourne Arms have gf gravy and Yorkshire puddings and a choice of desserts! They also had vegetarian/ vegan options too. The food served was home cooked, excellent quality and very good value for money. Within our group we had a vegetarian Wellington, beef, lamb and chicken roast dinners, which were all lovely and the sides were fresh and delicious. The server who took our orders was really attentive, and she brought food to the children first- which when you have a toddler makes the world of difference and is so thoughtful. Smallest guest was thrilled when he got his Wallings ice cream first. The pub is also dog friendly in the bar area, but for those who aren’t a fan of dogs there is also an area, the poop deck, where they are not permitted.

Absolutely brilliant 🤩 The food is delicious and home made, the chef is really talented and makes fantastic meals, you can really enjoy the meals here I can’t praise them enough. The welcome is warm and friendly and Stuart and his wife are very friendly and welcome you to the place like your with friends. There are lots of events to enjoy and my favourite pint Belhaven Black is sold here too, I have started to go to this pub on a regular basis with friends and family and me and my partner go in for lunch or dinner and sometimes just a drink or two. Love this pub I think they are doing an outstanding job and would recommend this place to anyone. Absolutely wonderful place and I am looking forward to going with more friends to enjoy my evening with the staff the Bourne arms and many more visits to come. A real hun of the community and a valued place by me.

Currently on Holiday in Lancashire and we were looking for a nice spot to eat by the sea, And what an amazing find! The Bourne Arms certainly did not disappoint, in fact exceeded our expectations from start until finish! The staff were so friendly and enthusiatic, happy to chat and knowledgable of the menu. We wanted to dine in the Poop Deck, so we could have a sea view, and were give table 20 (the best table) with amazing views of the Lake District and Morcombe Bay. My husband and I had their whole tail scampi and chips, with salad, and a side of onion rings. This was the best scampi that either of us have ever had, and we have travelled a lot, the salad was fresh and crips and the chips and onion rings were absolutely lush! If you are looking for a very friendly, cosy Bar with excellent service and amazing food, this is definitely one to add to your list! Thanks Bourne Arms, we had such a lovely lunch and we will certainly be before we head back home! Nikki and Barry x

Sunday lunch. Wowzers! Absolutely delicious. We had the beef which was slow cooked in red wine and melted in the mouth. This is the first time we have eaten Sunday lunch at the Bourne and it cannot be the last. Value for money, great staff, a perfect location for a seaside walk before or after. Our friends had the lamb and the vegetarian main, both agreed that the food was excellent. Plus dog friendly 🐕. What a gem we have in the village. 5*****.

How lucky we are to have this pub in Knott End. The new owners have done an absolutely brilliant job...the staff are very welcoming, the whole building is spotlessly clean and the food is delicious. We have had excellent Sunday lunches before but this time we decided to make the most of a sunny Saturday lunchtime and we both chose steak and Belhaven pie off the regular menu. Such tender meat in a rich gravy with light shortcrust pastry, tasty vegetable accompaniments...everything is so obviously homemade and prepared with the freshest ingredients. Superb sticky toffee pudding with Wallings icecream for dessert.... and a wonderful view of the Bay from the Poop Deck. Perfect in every way.

I used to go there on a fairly regular basis for a meal and a drink and have in fact recommended place to friends and colleagues. Unfortunately, over the past two months or so, the quality of the food has become really bad and the prices have become excessive. Embarrassingly, those that I had given the recommendation to have come back to me and said the same. Additionally, they rarely have the same bitter on tap - they have become unconcerned about customer satisfaction - what a great shame. Many of my friends are starting to go elsewhere and so shall I.

It has been exactly 12 months since our last Sunday lunch out and sadly this was our worst ever by a very long way. The Sunday beef roast came with just mashed potatoes which appeared to have been made some days earlier and with a most unpleasant taste, carrots which were sour and not fit for consumption, broad beans that were really tough and stringy and the knife provided barely challenged the tasteless but otherwise generous portion of meat. Such a disappointment and a total waste of time and money. This was pub grub quality of the 80's at best and clearly not a venue to visit again. So poor and my first ever negative review.

I never complain but this place got both myself and partner fuming and feel I have to warn other potential customers. Ordered a Sunday Roast , believe we got last couple of years leftovers from the freezer, the carrots were sour the the green beans were tough and old with a funny taste , the meat had a strange taste as though it had been in a freezer for a couple of years and warmed up, the mash potato was sweaty sticky with a taste unrecognizable, with seemed like added old boiled potatoes that were nearly raw or something else added . Absolutely. In this day and age you would think there was rules for this not to happen. Horrendous £30 down the drain, left a feel of being robbed. It will take me a while to get my appetite back.

Average pub fare at inflated prices. Menu all gussied up so it looks inviting, inside has had a bit of paint, some new, poorly hemmed, net curtains and a change of nick-nacks. Paint peeling off table did little to help the poor ambience at a quiet lunchtime. Had cheese and onion pie and chips and rag pudding and chips both with a tiny ramekin of rock hard petit poi. Cheese and onion pie ok, chips soggy, rag pudding wasn’t a rag but a roll and could have been cooked a little longer to make the suet pastry less slimy. Oh, a bit more filling wouldn’t gave a gone amiss either, nice gravy but only two pieces of meat and some scraps. At £13 each it wasn’t worth it. Standard of food is average at best. I get that prices gave gone up as things reopen but these are pretentious prices for very average fare.

I had the chicken and sirloin on flat bread with Mediterranean style vegetables. It really did not disappoint. Was absolutely delicious. My only grumble was the steak was a little chewy for my liking but this really didn’t not stop me eating it. It was lovely. Thank you. My dad had the hunters chicken. Wow. It looked and smelt delicious. Dad loved it. And the homemade chips really looked good. Dad commented how tasty they were. Mum had the rag pudding and chips. She said it was delicious. Kids had chips with sausages. Did ask for mash but they had no mash left. They also had no coleslaw left. This is why I gave four stars in stead of five stars. Very minor detail really. Absolute joke of a pub! Booked a table at 18:00 and didn’t get served until 20:00. The food that came was wrong and came out at different times. Some food came and had to be sent back because it was cold before we were even told about our sauces coming that never arrived. When sent back the new steaks came out and which were 90% fat and the other was not cooked how asked. As for the so called manager she is an absolute joke, so rude and needs to be sacked! The owners need to grow a pair and sort the complaints out instead of that vile manager. As for the Covid-19 measures if you don’t want COVID keep away! People entering without a mask absolute joke. Got told that me and my partner were barred and when asked why were told the manager knew but wouldn’t come out and tell us why. When a family member complained she was told to leave her food and go outside to speak to the manager leaving her whole main to go cold! He wouldn’t even sort it him self, that’s the owner of a pub (Paul), he needs to grow a pair and man up. Felt sorry for the staff as they were trying everything to sort it but the absolute VILE manager and the owners were a joke and I will make sure it will get reported on every platform about how bad they are and about how rude that absolute VILE woman of a manager is! Customer service is absolutely shocking and we were we forced to pay for meals that hadn’t even arrived for us to eat! Don’t get me wrong, I’m up for supporting local businesses but after tonight I won’t be recommending the joke of this set up at this pub! Sack that vile manager before the business goes under!!

The Bourne Arms is open until 7pm for food. I booked a table for 6.30. I didn't expect that all service would stop at 7pm, perhaps that's my fault but if that is the case perhaps I should have been told that when booking?? Also should have been told that the Governments Eat Out to Help Out scheme wasn't done here. I'd still have booked but would have been nice to be told.Sat down at 6.30. No one came to take our order until I managed to attract someones attention. Order taken at 6.50. Food arrived 7.05. Not as advertised on menu and one meal came without the chips although boiled potatoes instead. The peppercorn sauce on my meal was more like a peppercorn flavoured hot water, very thin. Pasta overcooked.Waited until 7.45 for someone to clear our plates so that we could order desserts. No one came so we paid the bill and left.I've mailed the owner separately and have been told that 'the staff have been disciplined'.Altogether a rather poor and unsatisfactory meal and outcome. We live in the village but this is the last time we will be going to The Bourne Arms. Today,6th September 2020, five of us went for a family meal, four of the main course meals were fine, however I had the hunters chicken in blue cheese sauce, it was all fine apart from the chicken, if I had a very sharp steak knife I may have been able to cut it, as it was it would of been easier to have eaten my boots. I did complain and was offered an alternative, which I declined, and the meal was deducted from the final bill. The staff were excellent and the view over Morecambe bay was stunning, however I did notice that some of the wallpaper was peeling and there was a hint of damp in the upstairs dining area.I would go there again for a pint and a burger but not for a family meal.

Took some visiting family for lunch and ordered various steak meals and a seafood dish. All of the steaks were cooked well done despite asking for medium and medium rare. The rib-eye was so well done I could have repaired my shoes with it. When I politely explained the error, they took away the rib-eye meal and replaced it 20 minutes later with a sirloin meal with different sides, leaving the rest of my family to eat or wait til there meals were cold and myself to eat alone. No explanations offered and when I queried the large bill at the end, was offered no attempt at recompense. Paid the bill and asked where I could leave a review and was directed here. There was no effort made wgatsoever to ensure our satisfaction or even deter us from leaving this review. I will never eat there again and will ensure our friends and family avoid at all cost. Far more interested in the money than customer satisfaction. Avoid at all costs and use the Three Lights in Fleetwood instead to avoid disappointment and embarrassment.

Booked on a Saturday to sit upstairs where the room looks out to sea which is amazing and paid a deposit. Was told on arrival the table not available even though booked a week ago and told to sit downstairs? We did protest and was then seated upstairs looking out to sea on a lovely sunny evening.Chicken was not available or the cheese and onion pie which was difficult as I am veggie and wanted the pie and the rest of my party only eat white meat.Everytime we tried to order something else that was not available either so it was difficult to find anything. In the end I ordered the Mediterranean tart with chips and salad which was nice but another member of my party ordered it too and we were told after the order they only had one!She then ordered the veg pudding which she did not really eat.The others all ordered lasagne which they all said was really good.We asked if they had been really busy as really hot day and they said yes.I have given 4 stars as loved the setting and think this is normally a great place to eat as two of my party live local and said normally fine.Think businesses have struggled in this crisis so I would go back as everyone has an off day but I have to be honest.Felt sorry for the young waitress having to keep coming back saying something not available and think a more senior member of staff should have stepped up.

We have just recently moved to the area and had high hopes for a local eatery, table for 6, 5 of the meals were not as described hunters chicken - leg of chicken not breast- never experienced this! Mashed potatoes, but not mashed, simple chicken burger dry, pasta Saturday steak gristle basically, 4 desserts 3 sticky puddings with custard, all custard returned as cold! I don’t often write reviews and never negative but feel this was needed. Plus point the young lady serving was excellent

4th July 2020. The first day the Bourne has been able to open to a sit down meal since lockdown in March So lovely to get out. Everything had been setup for ease of social distancing. Advance booking for both food and drinks so the number of customers doesn't exceed the 'space' required for social distancingThe food was mouthwateringly lovely, the atmosphere was friendly and we were well catered for. Thanks for all your hardworking guys I will be back!!

Decided to come here in January just for a drink. Was a bit skeptical because i had a burger from here 9 years ago and it was the worst burger you'll ever taste. .Saw the menu on the board and we gave it a try again. I have heard there is new management and it really shows.. I had a Burger and my girlfriend had the Fish & chips.1 0/10, Amazing food, atmosphere and staff. Super welcoming. Will be coming back again.

Went on Saturday with the family, the food was excellent and the service was great. The new owners really do deserve to do well, the Bourne Arms is a real gem of a pub in the village.

we were recommended by a friend, unfortunately we picked a sunday and the menu was restricted. However I had the steak and it was perfectly cooked my husband had roast lamb which was cut very thickly and quite tough with not enough vegetables. however as my meal was great and the general menu looked good we will go again but on a weekday.I have to mention Justin and give him 10 out of 10 for perfect service , good personality and he made you feel special.

Decided to try somewhere different and heard that the pub had improved under new ownership . Ordered drinks and food only to be told we could only order from the Sunday Menu, which severely limits your options. I was happy with a roast dinner but my husband had chosen starter and main courses from the standard menu so was left with no option but to choose a typical Sunday dinner. It would have been helpful if we had been informed before placing the order, and being served dribks so that we could have made the decision to go somwhere else. That said, the roast beef was nice (though we did have to ask for a jug of gravy) but we're unlikely to be back, definitely not on a Sunday.

We have been going into The Bourne for around 4 years as we have a holiday home within walking distance. All my family have been regulars in season but around last spring the quality of the food and the ambience had deteriorated and that made us sad. We went elsewhere to eat. However recently thebnew owners have taken over and the difference a few attention to details has made is noticeable. The log fire always burning bright, some more comfy chairs, a welcoming smile and a new menu. It was very busy tonight but we were treated well explanation given for any expected delays and attentive staff. We enjoyed our obviously home cooked food nice and hot and well presented. Pleased to see The Bourne back on track and a valuable village pub by the sea. I wish the new management success in the future. We will be there often through the season with our family until November. I hope they sort the lovely but neglected beer garden out as it's a goldmine in the summer.

Have to say they were right, made to feel very welcome from the moment we entered, great service, not in your face but there as soon as needed. Both had lamb Sunday roast, cooked perfectly, fresh veg & plenty of it..& proper lamb gravy We will definitely return & recommend The Bourne as a place to eat.

Visited with family on a Sunday afternoon, on the whole food was pretty good, salt and pepper squid could of done with a dipping sauce. Roast lamb was yummy but parsnips could of done with a bit of colour and more roast spuds were needed. Staff were very friendly and professional would definitely recommed and return

Came across this place quiet by accident. Just touring the area but also directly outside the ferry from Fleetwood to Knott End. Also served by a regular bus 2C from Blackpool. Had a lovely welcome from the new owner Paul. Very pleasant and attentive. The pub is so homely with a real fire which was topped up regularly to keep it lovely and warm. The menu was good and reasonably priced. The food was lovely and well presented. Several gluten free options on the menu too which a fellow guest was delighted with. If you’ve been before then try it again and see the transformation as I understand it had slipped under the old management. If you’ve not been before then put it on your to do list. You won’t be disappointed. Will definitely be back when I’m next in the area. Pet friendly too and a separate function room for larger groups.

The pub has been taken over by new management and been given a new lease of life. The food is delicious and freshly made and you get friendly service from the bar to the serving staff. We were watching some great looking sandwiches coming out and had food envy until ours hit the table and we were not disappointed. New flooring, pub furniture and jazzed up toilets, we will be back and soon!

It’s been a long time since we went there as previous owner wasn’t very nice, but now it’s been taken over it couldn’t be more different. Looks smart with real fire going and absolutely spotless but it hasn’t lost its homely feel. It has fantastic views from part of the restaurant overlooking Morecambe bay. Been for lunch , really good , plentiful food that isn’t expensive and you get loads. We didn’t have to wait a long time for served by friendly staff. Well worth a visit .

We haven’t visited the Bourne Arms for quite a while due to a bad experience of the last management, so hoping the new management had made an improvement we tried again, the pub itself is in a lovely location & very welcoming, as we entered it was quite busy, so hopes for a nice meal was expected, extensive menu ( they need a smaller menu, with quality ingredients) we ordered garlic & Stilton mushrooms, 4 mushrooms in a sauce that had never seen garlic or Stilton with a pile of old salad on the side with no dressing £4.95 really? My husband ordered sausage & mash, the waitress said she had to inform him there maybe fruit in the sausage? His food arrived badly presented, very poor quality sausages, still bits of gravy granules in the gravy , I had ordered a turkey dinner, oh dear, slices of turkey just piled high, boiled potatoes, soggy roast potatoes, the same horrid gravy my husband had, then a dish of very insipid looking veg ( actually tasted ok) but PRESENTATION is key, people don’t want food thrown any old how on a plate, use of better produce too, id rather pay a little more & be able to eat & enjoy

We went for my birthday lunch today and met the new landlord, Paul. We had lasagne - one beef one veggie and they were superb. Beautifully cooked and presented with salad a a few chips on the side. Freshly cooked chips made from local Pilling potatoes- can’t be bettered.

Great experience altogether! We loved our coffee, the food (halloumi wrap, brisket, smoked chicken club (great rolls!)). The only criticism came from our (picky) 8 year-old who found the ham on her kids box sandwich much too thickly sliced. Her loss of course, but maybe something to consider for other kids too.

Just visited this lovely looking pub for a bite to eat on our way through travelling home. We were greeted by the bar staff & ordered drinks. We took a seat & viewed the food menu. We both decided on the healthy option noodles with chicken which showed 600 calorie meal. We also ordered garlic ciabatta. The food arrived & very disappointed with what we saw. 2 bowls of greasy noodles sitting in an oily liquid! The ciabatta was cold & soggy. Such a shame as expected a great pub meal Needless to say we both left most of meal & left still hungry What a waste of money. We were asked if meal was okay to which we politely informed the waitress that it wasn’t great. Think the kitchen needs to up its game on food preparation.
