Poor service, order was not taken until we had been sat for 1hr 30. When food was served, potatoes and veg were cold except where gravy was poured. Starter was not as ordered. Altogether a great disappointment for a Fathers day meal.

Four of us visited the Bottle and Glass last evening and I can thoroughly recommend it. All staff members were very friendly and efficient, our food was very tasty and all topped off with an excellent Lincoln Imperial guest ale, who could ask for more? Our steaks were done to perfection and the barbeque pork and mushroom pie delicious all accompanied by a good portion of tasty chips and accomplishments. Portion sizes were good and we all agreed that we'd had good value for our money. I like the idea that you can select a smaller main or sweet if you wish (which I didn't). We will be going back.

This was our first time at The Bottle & Glass and it certainly won't be our last. The offerings on the menus were varied and appealing; we both chose the haddock, chips and peas and thought it was excellent. The chef certainly knows how to cook the perfect chip! The portion size was just right for us - I hate 'agricultural' sized dinners - and the fish too, was beautifully cooked. My wife chose the cheesecake while I opted for the Baileys bread and butter pudding. Sadly, this was a let-down - no taste of Baileys and completely tasteless custard served at a mouth burning temperature. The overall value for money was incredible; two main courses and two desserts for £24 and then 10% weekday discount off that! I must also mention how hard it was to choose between the Lincoln Red and the Doom Bar, two very fine ales. The whole pub is immaculately clean and well presented and the lady running the place was friendly, polite and helpful. We'll definitely be back..soon.

We had a great meal here last week - food was served promptly and my burger was incredible! Presentation could've been better but it's the taste that matters most. Unfortunately the price of starters have increased by around £2 per dish and the mains have increased by around £4-5 per dish compared to when the last owners had it so we just would not be able to afford to eat here again on a weekend. I see that they do offers on weekdays so this may be an option in the future but would have to eat elsewhere on a weekend.

Visited with family who live locally and treasure this local amenity. Interesting starter of 'battered hamlet' got me thinking about times past, so it was a no-brainer for me to sample this delicacy as a starter. Loved it. Crunchy, tasty and served with a delicious little sauce it hit the spot dead centre. Followed with Rib Eye steak, blue cheese sauce and a simple green salad. Over the years I have had my rare steak arrive either mooing or cremated, so to find the perfect article glistening with deliciousness set down was a 'rare' treat indeed. Needless to say it disappeared in a flash. Others in the group had a range of options from the menu which is not extensive but is all home cooked to order. Everyone was delighted, none more so than brother-in-law who has been singing its praises for some time. A bit out of the way, but, if you fancy some of the best pub grub you will ever taste, try this little beauty.

We visited two weeks running. First ate indoors which was fairly quiet. The service was good and the food excellent including a gluten free lasagne which pleased mother-in-law. Meals plentiful, in fact fish and chips too filling for me. A week later we ate outside having brought our dog from the local campsite Lincolnshire Lanes (pub not allowing dogs in). I had a starter and asked for a side salad to be made up which they did. Again my parents enjoyed their food too. Limited menu but no complaints.

Visited Sunday Sept. 06, 2020. Waited to be served but ignored by male waiter/barman. When I asked if we should sit down he said that I could see he was serving someone else and I should wait. Might be a good pub for locals but otherwise avoid it

Amazing food. I was very very pleased with my visit. I was served by a woman called Emma with blonde shoulder length hair and glasses. She was so lovely and welcoming! Gave me exactly what I wanted unlike last time when I was served by Sharon who I found to be quite rude. There was a good selection of food that was reasonably priced. I’m very happy with this service. Thank you. Also love your cream cake!

Went to the Fox with 5 friends (couples). This pub is close to home however we dont tend to go in there often. The night started well, drinks were flowing and we were having a good time. We overheard one of the bar staff asking for illegal substances, one of the group made a passing comment, and another lady (presumably the owners wife) stormed upto the table stating she'd be "watching us like a hawk". We calmly explained that we thought she was directing her hawk like vision at the wrong group and maybe she should assemble her nest a tad closer to home... She was clearly and unfortunately intoxicated herself (professional for working behind a bar, I know) and demanded that we must leave after our next drink. Despite working behind the bar, she was outside drinking and smoking most the night, one of the group asked her friends for a lighter, to which her and her group said "do not answer"- as if we werent human or present. We are local people and felt personally attacked by the lady's mannerisms . Especially baring in mind she was a senior member of staff (owners wife!) We put plenty of hard earned money in the pub tonight and were left feeling like criminals, we even volunteered to be searched to prove our innocence, which was promptly refused. All we wanted was a few nice drinks at our local pub for a change and were left feeling like outsiders by individuals (staff) who are clearly incapacitated and incapable of deciphering between drug users and young working class persons trying to enjoy a drink. At the end of the night I went to talk to the actual owner about how we'd been treated, expecting some clarity and lord forgive me for asking but perhaps an apology. Baring in mind this man is supposed to own several pubs, he seemed to have absolutely nil sense of customer service and even though he wasnt in the pub most of the night night was talking to me like I was in the wrong, solely due to his intoxicated wife (staff member) giving him an extremely one sided version of events - which were totally incorrect. One of our group didn't appreciate the way he spoke to me, and was rude back - as anyone with a backbone would be after the way we were treated tonight. He raised his voice and declared us all barred, despite me talking to him politely and calmly, all he was worried about was that he'd had a long drive, not that us as a group have lives, problems, and jobs too. Its unfortunate that a pub in such a good location treats its local punters so poorly after spending a small fortune in their unkept pub. Other than us, there were two people in the pub - I now understand why. I appreciate there are two sides to every story, however other bar staff have since said we were treated unfairly and that the owner and wife were extremely rude to us as a group. Its disgusting and people like this should not be running a pub. Until new ownership is found we wouldn't dream of returning even if the man (who'd through no fault of ours had a long drive) thought with a level head for a second and decided to unbar us. We are young couples who felt discriminated against through totally poor judgement tonight and what was supposed to be a great night out with friends for a change has been morphed into a poor display of total incompetence by its own owners. This pub is always closing down/re-opening and with owners as such it would come as no suprise to happen again. Hope new ownership comes and we can make the Fox a proper local.
