Bothy Restaurant in Glasgow City

Found this by using Google maps although we’ve visited the area for over 30 years. Embarrassing for us!! Came for lunch and the place is exquisite. Food lovely and beautifully presented. We ate everything. Compliments to the chef! It’s now a favourite snd we’ll be back asap.

Really disappointed with lunch. Husband had the salmon. Salmon and Rossti was fine but the knife couldn’t cut the veg (broccoli and kale!) I went for the pork. Didn’t expect it to be like a Chinese with mash potato veg and a jus. Cauliflower was cold, pork to much like a Chinese, (two slices served - didn’t eat 1.5 slices) kale again couldn’t cut. Really disappointed. If the waiter had asked how was your meal (most of mine was still on the plate) I would have told him! Won’t be rushing back in a hurray. 😢😢😢

The food is really nice in here. The surrounding’s are nice too. The staff all wear kilts. have been here before but it was a while ago. I had the Sunday Roast, which was a choice of beef or pork loin. I opted for the pork loin. Two courses were £25 but there is a service charge of 12.5% which is added on to the bill. Overall, i would recommend Bothy and hopefully return soon.

We celebrated my wife's 50th birthday here with a family dinner in Sunday 6 October. For a large party the food was very good, hot, very tasty, abundant and well presented, could not fault it. I have to give a special mention to the waitress who provided exceptional service. Probably the best service we have experienced for a large table. The place was busy and with these service standards no wonder!

Wow, what a fantastic time we had celebrating my Dads 70th! The food was incredible and the service from Angelika was second to none! We were made to feel at home as soon as we arrived. Cannot wait to return!

One of the best restaurants Sunday lunches I have had. Succulent beef with an excellent selection of veg. My mother in law loved the panna cotta. The ambience of the restaurant is excellent with spacious tables.

Great restaurant food was lovely but most standout was the service, private room booked for a large table all food came out hot and together for approx 20 people which was no mean feat including a number of dietary requirements which were all met. Drinks were tasty and orders taken as needed for drink requests. Thank you

Recommended this place by the hotel we were staying in. Food was great. We had the lamb and pork. Both were great. The lamb was beautifully cooked, tasty and tender. Side of parmesan chips were fat chips and tasted yummy. Service was friendly and attentive. Nice setting and atmosphere. Would absolutely recommend this place for great Scottish food.

Attractive restaurant with attentive staff where we enjoyed the food and drinks (they do an Old Fashioned with honey in it which was delicious). We were there ON father's day, but not FOR father's day, meaning our roasts were more expensive than they would have been on any other Sunday (apart from mother's day, presumably?). Same everywhere of course but still slightly annoying.... Nice restaurant and would be happy to go again.

We booked dinner at the Bothy on Saturday for a party of 17 family members of mixed ages to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary! Below I've attached the thank you message we sent the restaurant: 'Catherine & I would like to thank you all for making our 50th Wedding Anniversary party on Saturday (23rd March) such a wonderful occasion! Everyone agreed that the food and the service from Scott & his fellow servers was truly excellent, really special! It was remarkable how efficient and friendly the service was and how the Bothy kitchen was able to cope with those few of us with eating restrictions (e.g. gluten free, nut allergies etc.) A number of our guests stated that it was one of their best ever meals and vowed to return soon. There was absolutely nothing with which we could find fault, from the booking process, table allocation and setting, the ambiance to the meal and table service! A really great evening! Really nice food in here. I got the 2 courses from a set menu. Coley in a cheese sauce. It was nicely presented and i thought it was quite good value for money. The furnishings are nice & comfortable as well. I would recommend it

Went to the bothy last night with my husband for a valentines meal. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Was served by Abbie who was very attentive all night. Will definitely be back soon!

Fantastic food and excellent service - top notch venue to visit. Selection of mains made it difficult to choose. The lamb and pork were superb. The lamb was voted the best.

We went to the Burns night, and from start to finish was a great night. The food, atmosphere, staff and entertainer were amazing. Would highly recommend.

What a huge disappointment from the Bothy on Christmas - a thoroughly average meal of which was overpriced for the underwhelming menu, The Bothy rip-off was more of an experience from a Scrooge owner who was more interested in high profit and low customer satisfaction than providing a lovely Christmas experience - dreadful and shameful!

Excellent festive menu. We all really enjoyed our meals. Had a great Irish coffee for my pudding. Turkey nice . Parsnip soup lovely. Husband had smoked salmon. And pickled radish lovely.

I had hot smoked salmon followed by turkey. The former consisted of tiny flakes of salmon two croutons and lots of creamy dip. The turkey was tasteless, the veg not crispy and overcooked. I won't be back.

We went to the Bothy last night before going to a show in town, hadn’t been for a while. The meal was OK but not what we’d expected from the Bothy and the final price which had service charge already added was about 20% more than we expected to pay, needless to say we won’t be back there are many reasonable priced restaurants in Glasgow this one is clinging to past reputation and it won’t last

I only need one word to describe this place - sensational! The food, the ambience, the staff, the wine, the decor - everything. We loved it so much we came back twice in two days! The menu selection for myself as a vegetarian and my friend as a meat eater was vast and simply delicious. The real haggis, vegan haggis and the Cullen skink were particular highlights. I only wish I lived closer to such a brilliant restaurant. My heartfelt thanks to the staff and establishment - you gave us golden memories to treasure!
