Bothwell Roadchef in South Lanarkshire

Worst Roadchef in the UK, no food outlets and a poor shower that is more often out of order.

Not what I'd call a service station normal food to get smelly toilets and a over priced shop ahhh wate it is a normal service station

Pop into Bothwell for a coffee on my travels. Was served by the lovely Emma, excellent customer service!!! And my coffee was spot on. Will be back.

Amazing service from Kerry this morning. A warm welcome, and big beautiful smile which was lovely to see considering it was a Sunday morning 😂 Great customer service really does make a difference to someone’s day!

Popped into Costa before a long drive down south to visit family. Lovely flat white and excellent service from Kerry at the tills. Made the drive just that little bit easier, will no doubt be returning on my way back!

There was only one other customer in the Costa but the barista shouted at me for queuing the wrong way! I hope she got her money back from the charm school. Then there was no hot water so I couldn’t have a coffee anyway. Rude staff and lacking the basics for a coffee shop. A waste of time stopping.

Main concourse closes at 10pm and no hot food on site. Re-opens anytime between 6 - 6.30am

It was a very cold day, so we were dismayed that our pot of tea was only lukewarm. We asked for a second pot to be made but it was only a little warmer. I think it is because you use china teapots rather than stainless steel ones. But really you ought to warm the pot with hot water first.

It’s small but clean and the staff are friendly - no queues and quick service. Slightly outdated - could do with an upgrade / investment

Gent toilets are stinking, tiles missing , doors damaged, sometimes no soap and not a nice place, needs refurbishment

Clean and warm with lovely smiling staff . Got our food and drinks and were very happy .

Quick stop over missed breakfast so had a burger King. Toilets needed a clean

21/10/24 Huge thank you to the Costa Coffee staff who were incredibly kind to my 81 year old mother after she came into the store following an accident on the motorway. She was quite distressed and the staff were just wonderful. You truly made her feel so much better. Thank you, thank, thank you.

Costa was amazing, service with a smile and no ask too high. Checked allergens. Happy customers, can’t wait for my next visit

Only a Costa and a WHSmiths but the quietest motorway services I've ever been to, only a dozen or so cars in carpark.

The good point is that there is almost always a space for HGV parking and plenty of options on Just Eat. but that's about it for the positives. To call this a Services is pushing it a bit. Only a Costa and a tiny wee very limited WH Smith. That is EXTREMELY overpriced. Over £5 yes, FIVE pounds for a sandwich over £2.50 for a bottle of juice and over £3 for crisps. There is no real security for HGVs, but so far, I've never had a problem here. But sadly, that's Scotland services for you. HGVs BE AWARE!!!! the services are NOT 24/7, so make sure you pay for your parking while they are open. I made that mistake before, and when we appealed, stating it was a simple mistake that we didn't know, they would shut the only place you can pay, and we still had to pay the late fee.

1. 🚛 You can pay via SNAP, the machine is located in the Roadchief building. Shower and toilet there 2. For 3 pounds a voucher for 10. But you can only spend it at WHSmith or Costa 3. There were free places at night on a weekday 4. The surface is asphalted, without holes, but there are no markings in the tree 5. Lidl is two and a half kilometers away 6. There is an amusement park within an hour's walk 55.8003,-4.0393

I think the most expensive petrol/diesel in Scotland when i visited last week on way north nearly 30p a litre more than when i refueled later in Inverness I know service areas are more but that was a hefty margin

Not the worst services used the toilet got a n overpriced drink from whs go to garage forecourt if need food drink etc it's cheaper

This place rivals south mimms! The dirtiest most expensive place I have ever had the displeasure of parking overnight! With the exception of good old mimms! No food apart from a toasty at Costa so don’t be getting the parking with food option chaps! (And they do offer it) seriously road chef this place needs sorting

Went into the Costa at the roadchef. What a pleasant experience! Lovely young ladies behind the counter serving, couldn't be more helpful. The Costa was spotless, tables clean, nothing lying around. Thanks for a lovely experience first thing in the morning 😊

This was very quiet and had everything you need

It is not a stop for drivers, there are no hygienic bathrooms, there are no showers, in fact there is nothing better to close

Clean and tidy. All you need when you have to stop on the way

SNAP. I recommend excellent parking to everyone. The place has always been standing, forty-five parking lots are 90% empty. For 3 pounds you get a voucher for 10 pounds, and spend it in the store. I personally bought five chocolates for 3 pounds. You won’t spend much at the cafe because they have coffee and cakes. There is lidl 2.5 km away. 3.4 km Tesco.

Brilliant for dogs who need a leg stretch!! Lots of grassy areas, outside picnic table and bins. The loos are a bit tired, but they did the job and had soap and warm water. Staff at the Costa were both lovely and after paying Highlands prices for coffee and cake etc recently, the prices seemed like a bargain 😂😂 Will definitely stop here again when travelling with our dogs.

Outdated location, you pay for truck parking and in the evening you don't have a toilet, I don't recommend the location for truck drivers, old shower that doesn't even close without a mirror, old toilets, it's closed in the evening, you don't have access to the toilet Too old😔😔 people inside very bored

Snap parking. The place can be found at any time. The parking lot has fresh asphalt. You can take a £10 voucher for a £3 meal, but the lack of McDonald's will prevent you from spending it properly. There is one shower with hot water.

Missing a fast food place and only one shower.

Poor as it's only got a shop and coffee. So it's not a proper service station

A pretty decent motorway services, clean toilets and and easy to navigate car park.

I have just driven all the way from Skye, Laila was closed by a few seconds but kindly made a tea for me. I have to get to Manchester tonight and I'm so happy she helped me get home. Such a pleasure to have been taken care of by her at this stage of the journey. A small pleasantry while on the road as an international traveler.

The team at Costa Bothwell M74 services always greet you with a smile and friendly banter, no matter how busy or quiet they are. Paulina, ably assisted by Layla and Asmara go the extra mile wherever possible (even chasing customers onto coaches with their drinks before they leave ). Always a pleasure to visit and a good reason to stop during any busy day - 6/5 stars in my book all day long 👍🏻

Not my favourite Motorway service station, but then sometimes you just need to stop somewhere. It's small and it lacks most of the things you'll find in larger service stations. The toilets were filthy when I visited, there were broken toilet seats and were in a pretty disgusting state. The gentleman's toilet lacked a sign. These things are here for a reason, but this one doesn't feel welcoming and does not want l make you want to sit down and stay. Clean it up and make a few improvements and I'm sure that it could all change.

The name is misleading. Roadchef. You'de expect to find something to eat. Nothing there. Was in and out in a flash.

Had amazing service from Laila at Bothwell services today, so friendly and helpful.

Basic services provided, limited choices. Shower was clean Yet there's no hooks inside, a small bench is just about enough to keep your things dry off the floor. The shower curtain is just dropping inside the cubicle and even by being careful the floor will be wet. Some planning and organising is necessary to use this facility. A door mat is usually good to have to keep your feet dry. The shower was strong enough and hot To shave you'll need to use the main toilet area, no hooks there either to hang clothes. The only place to sit is the Costa coffee area and there aren't any electric plugs to power a laptop or recharge a phone for example.

Popped into the Costa here for a much needed caffeine hit and was really impressed. I was served by a Kerry who obviously knew her job inside out and was friendly throughout. The place was clean and welcoming, would definitely return.

Always great service here. Friendly staff and good banter.. they know their regulars and what they order. Handy to charge your car too and do admin work.

Worst Costa ever. No toast, no tea cakes, no veggie breakfast options and the least pleasant or helpful staff ever. I will never return

Road marking in carpark were confusing

Stopped at services and popped on to WH Smith’s the lady service was amazing very knowledgeable and couldn’t do enough to help with screen wash options and even helped with refilling water bottles to top up the car.

What a disappointing place to stay. The truck park is in complete darkness, the only shower was flooded, and nowhere for any hot food although there is a microwave available. I'll risk getting an infringement rather than stay here again

The service is friendly and pleasant. A great place to visit for a wee coffee and snack.

Costa coffee shop within the road chef is a class above the machines in the petrol stations and shops. The services are good and and toilets are very clean. Outside area is well looked after and nicely landscaped. The girls working in Costa are obviously trained in coffee making from scratch,polite and always serve you with a smile.
