Dirty tables, uncaring staff, poor service, tastless food Ham out of a budget pack, Poorly prepared food no love or taste to any of the food we ordered. I did not think places serving food could be this bad in 2019. They do not even read the reviews on this site so how can they get better, Dont Bother go elsewhere.

Went here for a lunchtime meal during the week with family, got there later than my partner and her daughter and so they were already eating. Ordering is always a little slow, I went for the fish & chip option. I sat facing the kitchen and could see the waiting staff taking the orders to the tables. I waited for about 20 minutes and started to realise some people who had sat down at tables after me were being served and still no sign of my meal. So I had to go and chase up where my lunch was; I noticed a few other people were having the same issue as me and had obivously also been forgotten about. When the fish & chips eventually came it was very disapointing, the fish didn't have any taste and the chips could have been crispier. We won't be going back in a hurry!

Not a bad place to visit, I know some people get annoyed at the service but it's really okay. Good to take your kids...lots of families about, plants are all around and the food is good for the price.

We used this venue for a 2 year olds birthday party. You can book the children's adventure area for the party as well. The food for the children was party was delicious as were the sandwiches for the adults. Will use again. Good value!.

Arrived early with my wife and ordered egg bacon, and bubble and squeak for myself and a bacon and sausage sandwich for my wife, after waiting for 30 minutes the items duly arrived. To use the words unappetising on both counts would have been an understatement! Burnt bubble and squeak resembling a polo mint with the centre completely missing, hidden by cremated bacon and a rubber egg. Wy wifes sandwich was equally un edible. I guess the cold toast was acceptable by way of compromise. No excuse refuded costs a a dark review sorry wyvale guess you should stick to garden fayre ie plants!!

This restaurant still has food such as cakes and scones uncovered on low open tables where I have seen both adults and children picking up items and then putting them back. Very unhygienic, I’m surprised it is allowed by the food hygiene inspectors. Best avoided until this situation is resolved. Better to use Costas at the Garden Centre entrance.

The Christmas lunch was very under cooked. The pigs in blankets looked RAW, the roast potatoes needed another 45 mins. The stuffing was bland. Cheese cake was nice

Went here for lunch, Me & my daughter ordered a hot sandwich each, my hubby ordered the soup of the day. We waited a while for it to come, then when it did, the order wasn't ours. When we eventually got ours, the side salad was so sad, the lettuce, look brown and like it had died. My sandwich wasn't very nice, but my hubby said his soup was very tasty. I wouldn't go back, £30 later, for the price, it was so not worth it. Also my daughters cup was dirty and had an old coffee rim around the cup. The service was rubbish. The chairs are very uncomfortable, & it was very hot inside.

The cafe at Wyevale, St Ives has bags of potential but fails to hit the mark. Nevertheless, it's a good stopping off point when leaving the A14. Just off the A141, I've stopped there a few times before completing my journey home. The cakes look enticing but are disappointing and the service is a bit clumsy. The garden centre is large with an excellent range of goods and there is a large WHSmith within the garden centre for impulse stationery purchases.

Stopped for a salad as advertised outside. Got to till ready to order a sandwich and told salads listed on adjacent wall as a special. Chose a chicken and bacon salad to go with my sprite. Total £9.75. Then spotted Over 60s deal of main, dessert and tea and coffee for £8.95. Was told if I wanted the deal I would have to order a dessert and that the Sprite would be charged extra. Total would be £10.75. Ridiculous prices and rules. Forcing me to have a dessert I didn't want. Would have been held up if there was a sign saying jugs of iced water available in dining are but then it would stop people buying their over inflated soft drinks. Will not go again

Went for a quick lunch, can see why you have to pay before the food arrives as I'd expect most customers would walk out having ordered and waited 35 minutes for two straightforward dishes. Staff polite and clearly doing their best, look desperately short-staffed, I'd not recommend it at present.

One of the most disappointing breakfasts ever! Traditional breakfasts were cold, 2 breakfasts were missing egg and had to be taken back which made the m even colder. Member of staff on the til was miserable and didn't even ask if we wanted to add toast. Everything too much effort.Should have sent them back but knew they wouldn't improve. Plates were left on counter waiting to be brought to tables. Two people serving and the place was almost empty. We now know why.Go to Costa instead!

We were a family of three adults and a three year old, hoping to enjoy a lunch together on a Thursday. The restaurant didn't appear particularly busy, there were plenty of seats but the wait for our meal was almost 30 minutes. When it did arrive we were far from impressed to be honest. My husband had ordered a tuna and cucumber wrap, and we couldn't believe it was wrapped in plastic and just dumped on a plate, and yet cost nearly £5!!!! I would have at least expected a bit of garnish, coleslaw even a crisp or two!! It looked most unappetising, and to make things worse, it had tomato in it, not expected in a tuna and cucumber sandwich and one thing that my husband really dislikes. My chicken, Brie and bacon sandwich was not good either. The Brie had completely melted and was just a liquid running under the bread and over the plate. The bacon was all fat, streaky bacon. I have never been served streaky bacon in a sandwich before. And the chips! Yuk! Cold, soggy and wrinkled. Even our 3 year old wouldn't eat them. The only good thing was that his chicken nuggets were lovely. So, quite a disappointing birthday lunch at quite a high cost for what it was. We will not be returning.

This bright and airy cafe is good if you are visiting the garden centre, and the coffee in this cafe I find nicer than that in the Costa concession. Service wasn't bad, and as you get free coffee offers as a garden club member, it is good value. Service can be a bit slow on a busy day, but there is plenty of seating and a nice outdoor play area for children is a bonus.

Earlier this year you could get 2 for 1 full English breakfasts that toast/fried bread. We visited yesterday and the breakfasts are no longer 2 for 1, the toast and fried bread are all now charged separately. £19 for two breakfasts. Definitely over priced. Penny pinching at its best. Will not be returning. Shame as staff are lovely.

We went here today for the first time. Ordered our rather late lunch with coffees. The coffees were great unfortunately we waited 20 minutes and I had to go and enquire about our food order as we are both very hungry at this point to be told that the girl of the till had forgot to put the order through to the kitchen. Could we wait another 10 minutes? No we couldn't. We got a refund for the food and left more hungry than when we arrived. I felt the attitude of the staff to be pretty poor. It was almost like they weren't bothered they hadn't sent our order through. Such a shame as the place looks so nice . I have been put off a little

Been here quite a few times, then regret that we have! However it is very handy for the garden centre and the aquarium shop is excellent. Stopping g at the cafe is now only relegated to coffee and cake at the very most. However even that goes wrong, we've been when there's no large coffee available when asking why been told because they have run out of cups because they are too busy to wash up. This wasn't a one off, tables littered with deserted plates, no plates or trays available out front , no knives. Plenty of staff though so don't what they are doing.

Went to the garden centre with a friend and had a very nice roast beef dinner.Thought it was reasonably priced for the amount of food.Had three thick slices of very tasty and tender beef, my friend got two, with a Yorkshire pud, parsnips ,carrots and broccoli, (which was a but under cooked) and about 4/5 pieces of roast potatoes plus gravy.Although it was busy we didn't have to wait long. Very nice, we both enjoyed it.Nice clean cafe with friendly staff.

A nice clean modern cafe, but rather overpriced. £4.80 for a cheese sandwich is just too much, and the cakes are expensive too. Also, many of the cakes are displayed uncovered on a low island unit for self-service, easily touched by children and not very hygienic. The Costa Coffee, also in the Garden Centre, is much better.

We went for lunch a little early and we were glad we did. It got quite busy later on. The fish and chips were excellent. Lovely crisp non-greasy batter. Mushy peas and a very good Tatar sauce. The chips were crisp and golden on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. One or two on top were warm rather than hot but all in all, a very good meal.

Becomes very busy in the afternoon with lots of children and pensioners. All I wanted was a cold drink as it was a hot summers day and a bite to eat. Well the scones were rock hard and incredibly dry as they'd been left out in the heat all day. The restaurant is set out very nicely and a good view to the outside garden centre. I wish id have gone to the costa in the same building.

Bit confusing over the queuing, could. Make t a bit easier as they seem to have three tills two counters so no idea where to stand to be served.Small point as the food was excellent. They give you a computerised disc of sorts that you register at your table so when the meal is ready, which was less than 5 minutes, they serve it. The chap that served it was smart, smiling and apply to help. He went and got my cutlery for myself and husband and some condiments, so helpful. But this was for every customer. Plates were cleared away promptly, but in no way was we rushed.

We visited this restaurant after we were given a voucher for two main meals for £10 after buying some items at this Garden Centre. There were 8 main meals to choose from. What a treat it was, excellent food, well prepared and very well presented. It appears to have had a face lift since we last visited. We did feel the furniture could have been more suitable. There was even a playroom for children which was well used!If you join their customer loyalty club you will receive points for your food and any purchase in the Garden Centre. Tuesday's are double points days.Very pleasant visit.

We decided to try the newly opened Botanic Kitchen restaurant as we were looking for a local and convenient place to have a regular Saturday morning treat and we were informed by the staff that food is cooked to order!First attempt (Sat 18th April), restaurant was quiet at 9.45am, but newly refurbished and clean. We both chose the full English Breakfast. It arrived very quickly but was only just warm. I personally prefer hot food!Second attempt - Saturday 25th April (we though we'd give it a second chance ) again restaurant quiet for a busy Saturday morning. Tried the full English Breakfast again, this time marginally better as the food was of a reasonable temperature, although not piping hot.Third attempt - (hedging our bets) Tuesday 28th April - oh boy, why did we bother, again food little more than blood heat.Well, we should have learned our lesson and known better - we have! Don't make the same mistake as us. Keep your hard earned cash in your pocket and go to Pinnies in Godmanchester. I hear it does a cracking full English, that's where I'll be going next time.

Visited the restaurant for breakfast during a visit to the garden centre. Asked what the veggie option was, to be told same as meat breakfast without the meat! Asked if I could have individual items, I could and each item would be one pound. Opted for toast, baked beans and mushrooms. When the food came I had a tablespoon of beans and ' 1' mushroom. I queried it with the supervisor who served me to be told, that's all you get.! Definitely not worth another visit.

We were visiting the garden centre and decided on having breakfast whilst there, food was nice but very little for the money you pay, not really sure on the live plants on the table either mud and food not a great mix, listening to the chef also explain that if it gets busy he may get p*ssed off for a bit wasn't reassuring either

You hear that crunchy layer? 😋 🐟 FRIAR TUCK’S OF YAXLEY 📍 🇬🇧 A few weeks back, I stumbled across a new Fish n Chips spot! I am on a quest to find the best tastiest Fish & Chips combo in the UK. 🇬🇧 I am a big fan of fried fish in general but UKs fish and chips is my new obsession. 🤩 Each month I select a fish n chips spot to review its service, ambiance and most importantly its taste of its food. FRIAR TUCK’S OF YAXLEY have been on my radar for quite some time now. I finally went there and had to see what they working with. The location was convenient. I like the set up of the store, a very well put together to-go spot. The workers at the cash register were sweet. When I asked the difference between the two types of fish, the cook at the counter seemed annoyed that I asked that question. 😅😅 They also didn’t have had their large size fish option at the moment, which was a bummer. 😕Nevertheless, I was still excited to try their fish and chips. So got a Medium size Cod. They fried the fish right in front of me which was superb 🤩 The pricing wasn’t that bad as well. Something I did appreciate was that they wrap their food in paper which made it feel more authentic. Their medium size fish was HUGE, as well as the small chips order. 🫨It smells Devine! Once I got my food, I was ready to eat it right and then! As I was leaving, there was this MOST BREATHTAKING PICTURE PERFECT RAINBOW I’ve ever seen 🌈 I mean, it was just out of this world! That’s when I knew this fish and chips was going to be amazing! It was indeed amazing! It was well seasoned with salt and vinegar with my chips as well. It has the perfect crisp to it. The fish tasted fresh and great quality. Would love to visit again! If ever in this area, it’s a MUST! If the owners see this raving review, feel free to reach out and thank me by sending me a to-go box 😁😊😋
