Very good we kept rining intil 30 mins later they picked up

As a visitor to the area, I was searching for a good chippy and this place was close by and importantly had good reviews. I ordered a large portion of chips and I wanted to try a pea fritter for the first time, and a pot of gravy too. The pea fritter needed to be cooked, so I had to wait about 15 minutes in total, but it was no problem, I was happy to read the information leaflets. The staff were not chatty and didn't engage in any conversation while I waited, which is fine but not what I'm used to. Also, the front windows were full of old cobwebs, which made me doubt the cleanliness and hygiene of this place, but I had ordered and paid, so I waited for my chips. They arrived and were well wrapped, and off I went. The chips were delicious and a good sized portion for 3 adults. The pea fritter was a winner with me. The gravy was too thick for my liking and I had to add boiling water to thin it down. Overall, I was happy but the chip shop front window (all across the top) does need a good clean to give a good first impression and remove the cobwebs.

Excellent fish and chips. Happy to find someone making pea fritters as many chip shops don’t have them. Tasty curry sauce. Crispy onion rings. Everything cooked to order. Great service. Would definitely return.

Excellent food. Having been coming here for a while and its always fantastic. Good value and great quality food. Much much better than the alternatives around. Could not recommend more highly.

Proper old fashioned chippy with everything as expected (i.e. fresh fish, good chips with that pleasing soggy-crispy ratio) and reasonable prices. Had it for my birthday dinner and was very happy for it.

Does what it says on the tin. Service was great and the staff were lovely. Fish and chips was delicious. Traditional but well done, not pretentious. Tooks a big telephone order from us close to their closing time and it was all ready for us, freshly cooked very quickly.

I saw what happened at this chippy tonight. The customer was cheated from her meal. The staff lady in question did sell the customers order to someone else, she did not apologize and did not seem to care. The staff member did have an attitude and did start on the customer as if the customer was in the wrong. Later that evening someone I know entered the chippy and the same staff member blonde hair was swearing and cursing about that customer!. Worst still not one other staff member stopped her and told her she was in the wrong. The customer had already ordered the food so the food should not have been given to a second customer. The customer kept her cool as there were kids in the chippy, but this is serious bad behaviour of the staff member in question. It would also seem that the other staff seem scared of this lady and so wont stand up to her. The staff was in the wrong not the customer. I hope the owner takes this very seriously because I dont think they want to be reported for having staff abusing customers and miss treating them. I think a few of us wont be returning to this chippy for a while after experiencing such appauling behaviour I certainly wont be returning. I hope the customer who experienced this behaviour is ok and I hope she doesn't return either. Not sure who the owner is and if they was there at the time this happened they did not do a single thing about it which is also appauling. Perhaps the owner does not want good reputation anymore? Who knows.

This was a disappointment sadly!! This review is based on the absolutely shocking front desk and shocking customer service. The food is excellently cookef by the gentleman in the back. Arrived early and ordered our food. Whilst I was waiting patiently for our dinner to be made, another staff a lady with blonde hair, took our food and served it to another customer who came after we arrived and ordered after us! When the young man serving me said and I quote "can I give you two small" plain" sausages instead I immediately pointed out that the lady had taken the last two jumbo battered sausages to other customer who was behind us!! And we were meant to deal with it and just settle to what was available. This is shocking behaviour what is worse she wasnt even sorry and was so rude. She then persisted to make threats with her back to me stating "ooh don't get me started.. Etc" this is out right horrific customer service from what is supposed to be a really good Chippy.! And the food is delish to be fair so it is clear a LOT of customer service training is in order at this chippy which is sad to see. I understand people can have a bad day and I would have over looked this if an actual appology was made rather than an argument and a "fighting attitude" from the lady who did the deed. Now I know its just a sausage and I wasnt going to take the childrens food off them so naturally I did accept the others but the point is when I was offered the alternative the young boy was going to give me an order I didnt even order. In the end he did give me two small battered sausages not plain so not too bad in the end. But the customer service seriously needs to be dealt with. Whilst it is just a sausage that attitude could be way worse, could be a special meal with someone with an allergy,, or the last Haddock of the day and she just gave it to a customer who ordered way after the customer the haddock was cooked for. It is the principal. Whilst it is just a sausage which i am very aware of it is the fact that you dont give other people someones order then give them an argument and start on them. It might have been a simple mistake or a bad day, but this is still a cry out to the owner and manager to get some serious customer services training. It is a shame as the food is brilliant here! And really tasty but the front desk have no clue how to behave or what to do.

Visited this place on a recent holiday to Falmouth. Food was pretty good, but portions were the smallest I’ve ever had from any Fish and Chips shop.

Chips are amazing. I usely get chips sausage and battered bits. They are all lovely. Can't pick fault with any of it. Definitely best chippy in Falmouth. I highly recommend it

An easily accessible chippy with good parking. We ordered a variation of Cod & Chips and 'Lunchtime Specials' consisting of a sausage, 3 cod bites, chips, and a side. Waiting times were fair & took no longer than 10 minutes to prepare our order from fresh. Our portions of chips were reasonably generous, but they were insipid moist bits of bendy white potato. Our fish was oddly shaped oblong fillets much like large fish fingers, although we ordered medium, we felt that the fillets should have been a little larger. The batter was soft like it had sweated & was falling off the fish. This may be understandable if the order was left rapped up, but our order was unwrapped within 5 minutes of leaving the chippy. We thought that the meal was just about OK, and to be fair, the chip portion size & 'Lunchtime Special' has elevated the score to 3☆. The 'Lunchtime Special' is a good deal and those of us that ordered the Cod & Chips looked on with envy & wished that we'd ordered the £4.90 alternative being a far better deal. I'd recommend the 'Lunchtime Special' but not the 'Cod & Chips' which we'd unlikely order from here again. The staff are friendly & the premises appear clean & hygienic.

Down here on holiday and after a quick search for a decent chippy we happened on Bos's. Certainly wasnt disappointed...the price is reasonable, the portions are large and the haddock was lovely (and I'm from Grimsby so a bit of a haddock snob!)...really tasty fish and chips, highly recommended!

Havnt visited for a while but prices are going up but portion sizes are coming down not impressed. They advertise to being open until 9pm but if you go in about 8.30 its an effort to be served or the quality is below standard

Don't go in after 8pm during the week everything is turned off and all food is not hot🤨🤔 recently been back prices going higher portions going smaller

Dropped in early, about 10 minutes after opening time, to grab some food before setting off on a five hour drive.The haddock and chips were excellent with light crispy batter and fluffy chips. Just how they should be. There is a reason why they were buy even at half past four!

Visited a few weeks back to be served by a young lad who couldn’t stop running his fingers through his hair,found it unsavoury and told him to wash his hands before serving our order.Have been back since and not seen lads serving since.The girls are much more efficient !!.The fish and chips are really good,no complaints there.Could get five stars If hygiene was improved further.

Popped in for a quick and easily family meal and was not disappointed. Big portions of chips with lashings of salt and vinegar. The fish was a little oily but still had a pleasant taste. My only criticism would be the service. Feels like they are dragging their feet and would rather be doing something else.

I frequently visit this place on a Friday about 8pm and usually get good food and professional service but the occasion of Friday the 23/11 at approx 8.05pm there were staff that I hadn't seen before and more interested about going out. I usually order standard cod an small chips wich is usually a good portion but on this occasion the chips were way smaller than I usually have and on my return home wich is about a 2 minute drive from where I live the chips were stone cold. I don't usually leave bad reviews but because this a regular place where I go I wasn't happy with the quality on this occasion

We have been visiting for years, and the food is always fresh and tasty. There is a free car park serving this fish n chip shop and parade of local shops.

Portion sizes leaving you wondering where the rest of your food is and no mushy peas nor curry sauce. 2/10 would not recommend.

Enjoyed the fish and chips served here and just what was required after a day on the beach at Maenporth. Worth a visit. Only negative was that both the fish and the chips stick to the old fashioned, supposedly grease proof paper.

Had three cod and chips from there they had to cook fresh fish and got old chips asked if they had made re and said they had run out,I can honestly say that it was nothing but a greasy mess the chips were grim looking and soggy the fish was like a sponge full of oil,the oil was so old I could taste everything they had cooked for the last few days and this slop cost me £20 odd if i had eaten it in the shop I would have asked for my money back but I took it home so I phoned up and was told by the manager (so called) that he thought it was alright then got a sarcastic “thanks for calling “ no come back for even half a refund this place is the worst chip shop I’ve ever been to in my life and I would strongly advise you not to go there.
