Great food, friendly service and fantastic views across Borrowdale from the veranda bit of the garden. My little boy had a lovely ham sandwich and my husband and I shared a Welsh rarebit and a tuna melt panini.

Great cafe with lovely green well kept garden to rest in right on the Cumbria Way. Tea and ginger beer very nice and they filled our water bottles for us!

We’ve stayed close to this lovely tearoom on quite a few occasions over the last 30 years! We had the pleasure of more regular visits on a recent stay both to the shop (essentials, delicious cakes, teas, coffees, hot food, ice cream, Cumbrian gifts, cards and importantly take away menu) and to the tearoom where we enjoyed toasties and delicious hot chocolate. Being able to take homemade lamb pasties and lots of other goodies is so helpful when self catering and fancy a night off while supporting an established local business. Well placed if staying in the Borrowdale Valley or if you are walking the Cumbrian Way make a plan to stop. Currently open 10-5 daily Above all, you can expect a lovely warm welcome from all the team 😁

On my arrival there was a sign to show that they were closed with it being the end of the season. I should have checked their website before so wanted to highlight on here for others, they are open early February to November: open 6 days – 10am – 5pm. I will return next year :)

Stopped in here for tea and cake during a walk last week. Delicious cake, lovely garden so we sat outside. (They do have indoor seating as well). Bought some tea bread to take away and that was delicious too. They also sell Herdwick meat too, which I would have bought if I had my cool bag with me.

We stopped here for coffee after our hike, what a little gem of a place. Wish I had seen the pasties and stew everyone else is raving about, but I just saw the cake and that was that. It was the most amazing and biggest slab of carrot cake I have ever had!! OK the lady serving wasn't the friendliest person in the world, but she's probably sick of people like us tramping around on their property! We'll worth a visit.

This little gem is in a beautiful setting. We stopped for a coffee but was tempted by the home cooking. The homemade lamb pasty was fantastic, the best I've had. Made with light pastry and their own delicious lamb. Can't rate it highly enough

Really wanted to review this place, although all we had was an ice cream! After a lovely walk up Castle Crag it was just what we needed! The thunder and lightning ice cream was absolutely amazing, as were the chocolate and mint choc chip. Lovely little shop and really friendly staff.

The tea rooms are great for a short stop off. We had a lovely sausage sandwich and a nice mug of tea. The views are amazing especially as the weather was great. Great short bus journey from the centre of Keswick. I think the staff must have been having an off day as we were not even greeted with a hello, smile or offered a menu. Nice terrace outside to eat and very friendly local Robin.

Lovely spot for lunch. We had the delicious Herdwick pasties, looking out over the valley - thankfully undercover as the rain came down again! Coffee and cakes were great too. Well worth the stop.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. The staff were extremely friendly and lovely and it is by far the best slice of cake I think I’ve ever had! Also the cheapest scoop of ice cream I’ve had in the Lake District so far which was a bonus. Coupled with the gorgeous views over the valley from the covered outdoor terrace and it’s perfect location along the Cumbria way, this really isn’t one to miss!

We called here twice for ice cream when staying in the village. A good choice of flavours and a lovely garden to sit in with picturesque views. It is a well stocked little shop.

What a find! Kind staff who volunteered to fill water bottles before we'd even ordered and directed us to a wonderful shady spot in the garden with gorgeous views. Scrummy Lake District ice cream (Blackcurrant and cream particularly good,) and an excellent light lunch of lamb pasties and soup. Definitely worth a visit 😊

Always a friendly welcome at this no frills tea room. Visited in the past with a friend but wanted to bring my husband to try the herdwick stew, with cheese scone and mint sauce, delicious again. Great view sat in the garden and amazing ice cream for desert.

Main courses were delicious, the only big let down were the deserts, Nutella sundae with whipped cream, it isn't a sundae without ice-cream and sticky toffee pudding with whipped cream, when stated on menu vanilla ice-cream , with no discount because of alternative, should of came out to say they had run out of ice-cream
