Best date night place offering amazing wine and tapas. Glorious ambience which is small and personal. Haven't been back in a while but keen to return soon as many lovely memories.

I used to praise this restaurant as the best Spanish in London, nonetheless last time was a very poor experience. Cold calçots, and an hour wait for the mains. I ordered a beer that never came. I hope it was a bad day, I will have to let some time go before I give them another chance.

Really great experience. I booked ahead for St Valentine's night and got a table for two. The staff was very nice to us and quick (they took our food and drink orders a few minutes after sitting us down). The place is a bit small and crowded for my liking, we were sitting pretty close to other people. For drinks we got sangría, which I though was not cold enough. We ordered some croquetas for starters, and they came out really quickly. The truffle croquetas were very good (super crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside). The normal ones were not the best, but decent. We got a paella for 2 and I must say the size did not disappoint. As a Spanish person I have to admit it was not the best paella, but really good regardless. After eating the whole thing we felt like finishing off with a delicious cheesecake and crema catalana. Overall great food, good portion sizes, friendly and quick service, good atmosphere, and the best, is not as pricey most Spanish restaurants in London.

Traditional tapas and more modern dishes combine to make a pleasing menu. There is a good wine list and very helpful service. The counter seating at the front is perfect for dining alone.

Great spot on a Friday evening. Highlight was the mushroom and croquettes. Very welcoming staff make it a spot worth visiting with great food and drink.

If u want a real Authentic paella, just reserve a table now and don't waste ur time looking around. Everything was delicious. The staff are so nice and attentive. The whole experience was delightful, for sure am coming back here every time am in London.

We lived in Madrid for four years and this is quite simply the best and most authentic Spanish food that we have eaten outside of that country. And at a fair price.

Great food, lovely service, cozy and nice place

Used to be a great restaurant and one of my favourites in the local area, but I have to say my last visit, we were let down by average service. We were asked, as they brought out the "main" tapas (one was still being prepared), whether we wanted dessert as the kitchen is about to close, which was weird but OK. Then we waited 30 mins after we had finished our meal with plates on the table for the dessert to come (we had to ask for the table to be cleared). I get it was a quiet night but there were only 3 tables with other people, it's a shame the wait staff were so disinterested in serving the people who were there.

The place is very cozy, you feel great since you step inside . The food is good quality and taste and the stuff are very friendly.

It was another visit to this amazing restaurant in Battersea. For drinks it was Nuviana chardonnay and tapas - potatoes brava, chorizo al horno, albondigas (meatballs) and to finish cochinillo asado (just wonderful - suckling pig, sweet potato crisps, apple sauce and lime sorbet). For sweets crema catalana and finishing up with cocktails!!

Unfortunately, the service was very poor, very inexperienced waiters which is a shame as food still good, we've been there several times and I think we won't be back for a while.

I’ve there today in lunch time in Acre Lane branch in Brixton. The service was top 10 and the food was another level in all good ways Thanks to the manager, we’ll definitely come back.

Comida Española a precios razonables....

Don’t come here if your under 18. They will take advantage of your age and think your naive when your really street smart. They will charge you £3 for a glass of water. Do not have the mini burgers, when they say mini they mean MINI. Not worth the money can be swallowed after one bite. The bread was rock hard and tiny even though they charge £3 for it. They tried to trick us into buying even more but we weren’t fooled. As I said above we are really street smart. They charged £6 for service even though they were rude. They could watch you on the toilet from the kitchen. They couldn’t even calculate the bill themselves and left us to do it. Absolutely appalling. I also had a Spanish friend with me who confirmed that the patatas bravas was just some potatoes with burger sauce. Not traditional at all. Other than that- the burgers were kind of nice.

We only discovered Boqueria during the 3rd lockdown and we have been mightily impressed with the food, the portions and the takeaway service is friendly. We will definitely be looking to try out when the restaurant is re-open. Highly recommended.

Since we didn't feel comfortable going on holiday, we decided to bring Spain to us - and Boqueria delivered giving authentic, yet innovative Spanish food we know so well. On arrival, it looked like the restaurant was empty, but we were escorted to the back in a light and airy space, with guests nicely socially distanced What did we eat? >> Pan con Tomate >> Traditional tortilla, which melted in the middle >> the cheesiest Ham and cheese croquetas >> Galician Octopus - always choose this when I see on the menu, and it didn't disappoint. >> salad with prawns and goats cheese >> an amazing special recommended by our server of Iberica pork fillet (with more goats cheese) To end, we finished off with a Santiago tart which was delicious. Alongside a lovely bottle of Rioja white wine, it was the perfect meal Can't wait to return!

Really sad to give this restaurant such a low review as we have loved it previously! We were excited to return last night but the service was awful. We waited 30 minutes for a drink and longer to order. The service was incredibly slow and one of our dishes took over an hour and a half to arrive. When we asked what was causing the delay we were informed that the kitchen was packed as they were prioritising deliveroo orders! The service and pace of food really impacted our evening and we were left very disappointed with the experience. This used to be our go to place but I’m not actually sure we will now return - such a shame!

We were so pleased to return to Boqueria after lock-down, and it didn't disappoint! Food was delicious - we especially enjoyed the prawn croquetas, suckling pig and octopus. They had a great selection of wine. And the staff were friendly and helpful, as always. We're looking forward to our next visit!

Boqueria is one of my favourite restaurants- The food is delicious and authentic, I can’t get enough of the prawn and goats cheese salad. I always feel really welcome and well looked after there as well and always have an amazing time.

First time in the restaurant and despite Covid everything went smoothly. Food is delicious and portions are quite big specially the squid. Lubina is delicious. Staff were polite and happy to answer any questions. Good service

I went the other night with my couple and to order some tapas and a bottle of wine,the truth was that it was all incredible, both the time with those who brought the food, as the service, without a doubt, we will return again. Thanks!!

It actually breaks my heart giving this place such a low score because we were such huge fans previously. I've taken numerous friends and family here and my partner and I are regulars, we couldn't wait for our first visit since Jan! The standard of food has dropped off a cliff. The board of cured meets was so dry they all stuck together - the quality was poor even when you did manage to unstick them. The ali oli that could previously have been award winning it was so good, has been swapped out for the same stuff you get in a jar from Tesco. The sauce for the bravas has been watered down and also used to be incredible. The croquetes were the only constant that were still very good. The crispy aubergine was 90% salt and we ended up sending back - something I've never done! The service was also so so disappointing, 30 mins to get a drink and we had to ask if we could order some food. There was a 45 mins wait between some of the dishes and we could see some being sent to other tables (then being sent back!) It's such a genuine shame seeing somewhere that used to be one of the best out there slip to being less than average. Please sort it out ASAP Boqueria!!!!

Yesterday night me and my partner went for dinner. First, i need to say that the service is awful! We called to reserve a table and they told us on the phone they will only have one table at 9.45 instead of earlier, so far completely understandable however they could have told us to have a drink before at the bar if we wanted to come at 9 because the bar has lots of seats. Then, when we arrived we seat in the table and we wanted to drink a nice wine, 2 tapas and a seafood paella. When we asked about wines, clearly the waiter didnt know much about the wines he is selling. We decided to get the Muga and we were happy with our selection. On the other hand, the wine list remained on the table so someone else came to ask 2 for the drinks while we were waiting for the waiter to bring it. Once we ordered the paella we realised the paella must be al cooked already because we said we dont want any fish just the seafood however the chef said it is not possible. I kindly asked the waiter if the paella is fresh, he responded yes, then how can they not take off the fish from the paella?? Unbelievable. After that, we decided to pick some tapas instead. We started with bravas and chipirones... our intention was taking more things but at the end we didnt just because at 10.15 they were asking us to order NOW because the kitchen and the bar were about to close. I haven’t mentioned we waited 24 minutes to get salt and ali oli. And the last thing bravas were to hard that every time you tried to get one with the fork will jump out the table. In general, awful customer service, and poor food. I used to go to the one in battersea and this one quite often buy definitely never again!

Un super restaurant sur Londres, la cuisine est généreuse, savoureuse et peu coûteuse en vue de la qualité de la nourriture proposée. Le service est excellent, le lieu convivial, même si la devanture ne donne pas très envie... ce à quoi il ne faut pas faire attention, car tout le reste est parfait.Je donne néanmoins un bémol aux desserts,que mon compagnon et moi n'avons pas du tout aimé. Mais la carte de plats et tapas est largement suffisante à contrer une envie sucrée sur la fin, et tout y est parfait !je recommande chaudement !

I wouldn't recommend it unfortunately. Pork was very rare (and we don't mind it a bit pink - but borderline raw?!?!??!!). Food just generally very disappointing. Won't go back.

The place is really nice and the tapas are really good as well! However our group did not get the best experience with the waiters... Throughout the diner the staff was not very polite to us and just before we left one of the waiter was very clearly talking about us to another table.. Pointing at us, whispering and laughing with other customers. This is definitely not something I would like to experience again especially when it is not the cheapest place around! It is really a shame as again the food was really good.

We’ve long been fans of their second branch in a converted bank building on the corner of Queenstown Road and Battersea Park Road just a short throw of a chorizo sausage south of Battersea Park. This was our first visit to their original branch in Acre Lane SW2 in the borderlands between Clapham and Brixton. This Sunday afternoon all seemed so quiet at its front we wondered as if it was even open. However on opening the door a manageress ushered into a room at the back livened with colourful photographs and made to feel larger with mirrors filling a side wall, but still not the atmospheric space that is the rear room of the Battersea branch. And no hanging baskets. The menu felt slightly different too. No gazpacho or Russian salad. Squid now chipirones. A risotto with oxtail which I had not seen before. We started with meatballs in a luxuriant tomato sauce; ham and cheese croquettes nicely crispy on the outside and like a pate within; a full plate of padron peppers. Otherwise we chose from the specials board a large cube of crispy pork with a quince sauce and ajo de blanco, quite a fine dining treat; a whole seabass cooked in a floury crust with individual portions carved outwards artistically alternating between the left and the right. The tortilla with red pepper and chorizo was the only slight disappointment interleaved with large slices of pepper where small cubes might have worked better.

Soy un local de Brixton y a menudo visito boqueria. Es el restaurante que siempre traigo a familiares o amigos que me visitan, ya que siempre puedo confiar en ellos para una buena comida y un excelente vino. La comida es muy sabrosa y una excelente relación calidad-precio. ¡También me encantan los gin tonics, especialmente el que tiene canela y clavo! Recomendaría a cualquiera en la zona a visitar para tomar buenas tapas.

After reading lots of amazing reviews about this restaurant, we decided to try it on a Friday night. It’s busy, so make sure you book a table. Otherwise, incredible food and great service. I really enjoyed the tapas (patatas braves, meatballs, calamari), but wasn’t so impressed by the prawns and suckling pig. Service was impeccable though. Well worth a visit!

J’y suis venue un dimanche soir et la nourriture était tout simplement délicieuse. Le plats bien assaisonnées et une découverte pour les papilles. J’ai beaucoup aimé autant le dessert que le plat. Les serveuses ont été vraiment sympa :)

Had dinner with some friends, food quality is great and the staff was absolutely awesome. There was a very nice environment for a Friday night! You have to book in advance as it gets really busy on weekends.

We have been here a couple of times already, and it has become our favourite date night place. We recommend to book over the phone especially on weekends because it can get quite busy. Their staff is super lovely and professional. We always get the perfect wine pairing for our food!We went for early dinner today and we had the amazing Pulpo a la Gallega and Patatas Bravas which are our favourites. We never leave without having the cheese selection for dessert (100% recommend it)Thanks to all the staff for making every visit unforgettable!!

I am Spanish and had dinner with my boyfriend last week. We felt like at home, we were delighted with the tapas and the service was above average. The suckling pig is a must! We will definitely be coming back soon! Highly recommend

We went to Boqueria over a week ago, haven’t been for ages but have always loved it. The service was shocking, most of our plates were completely forgotten with little apology, we were in the restaurant for over two hours. We weren’t going to write a public review as the food was actually very good when we got it, so we sent an email instead. However, this has had no response so we’ve decided to post this on Trip Advisor - even a quick email apologising would’ve been absolutely fine but alas, no.

I went to have some tapas with my friend -around 5ish and spent 81 pounds between us . Around 7 one waitress came to say if we would like to move to the bar as the restaurant was getting busy. I said no as we still haven’t ordered desert . We ordered desert and another waitress came and asked us to move to the bar . At this point K was getting upset as my friend and I were having a important conversation. I asked for the bill and we mentioned the appalling behaviour to other waitress. She apologised and said that was unacceptable. I did contact the restaurant by email but wasn’t contacted . The food and wine was ok but the service was probably the worse I experienced in a long time . Asking us to move after we spent 81 pounds. If you want a chill place to have dinner, don’t bother. Very dissatisfied

Quality of food and drinks was not great, we asked the waiter to recommend the best dishes and the calamari he suggested were rubbery. I would give it another chance, but there is a lot that still needs to be improved.

We were really looking forward to a family evening out. We have eaten here before and the food and staff are excellent.

It’s my second visit here but I don’t think I will be coming back. The food was excellent just like during my first experience however the management need to take control of what is going on in the Restaurant. Our evening and that of most of the other people around us was ruined by a large group who were obviously drunk on arrival and proceeded to make a lot of noise and sign drinking songs and behaving inappropriately. This was an early evening dinner and I didn’t expect this. Either don’t admit people who are drunk or be prepared to intervene for the sake of your other customers or you will no longer have a business.

Came here for NYE two weeks after it opened in (I don’t remember what year). Was fantastic then.

Viví en España durante un año, así que me gustaría pensar que puedo distinguir la buena comida española de la mala y durante nuestra visita a Boqueria la comida era buena, disfrutamos especialmente el delicioso bacalao salado, aunque pensamos que la porción podría haber sido más grande, y la selección de quesos fue el final perfecto para nuestra comida. El ambiente era bullicioso y vibrante. Sin embargo, el servicio fue un poco confuso, tuvimos que perseguir algunos platos que no habían llegado. En general, no es un lugar que visitaría con demasiada frecuencia porque es un poco caro, pero para una ocasión especial es ideal. El precio para 2 era de unos 70, incluyendo 2 copas de vino y una cerveza.

Great Tapas! The squid ink risotto and the tuna carpaccio were stand out dishes. Great drinks selection too! Menu really varied and was able to cater for both gluten free and vegetarian guests. We were saw downstairs and the music was very loud, with a busy restaurant we found it hard to hear one another across the table. As a meal booked for old friends to catch up, this was the only let down.

The seafood paella is incredible! Order it as soon as you arrive because it takes around 30 minutes. Other favourites were the cod fritters, the king prawns (proper massive ones, not the puny ones you normally get passed off as such in the UK), padrons. We don't eat meat so can't comment on those. Beer on tap is great. The staff are efficient, friendly and informed. The guy who seemed to be the Manager was really good and full of advice about the right amount to order (telling people to order less).

We had dinner on a Thursday night, it was busy but not overly busy. Service was absolutely amazing and waiters even recommended which dishes to get. It was my friends birthday and they even brought out a cake for him. Absolutely lovely find, would highly recommend!

Impressingly great Spanish restaurant in London. I am myself a Spaniard and love to go there every now and then when I feel homesick. Having consistently been at both Boquerias (Brixton and Battersea) I can confidently say that the food, aside from affordable, is a 5 out of 5 (service has always been great too.)

The food at Boqueria was extremely delicious, even though I would say that Spanish tapas is never my first choice and the patatas bravas were not the best - they were coated in an usual pink creamy sauce. However, the food was clearly quality and my one massive peeve - given that we were a group of 7 and were ordering generously - was how we were rushed. From the moment we sat down we were being asked to order, and it wasn’t like we were being fitted in last minute we were booked in and pre informed we had the table 6:30-9pm, so we were aware. However, despite this, we were asked to order and had our tapas delivered and cleared by 7:35pm. And when I go out for dinner, and this place is not cheap, I like to enjoy it so I was a little irritable when literally as soon as they had cleared away the tapas they were onto us to order desert. We asked for a break, only for them to return at 7:50 to make sure we ordered and had time to eat before we had to leave. At this point I felt I had to clarify that we did indeed have the table till 9pm, they said that we did and I think realised that we weren’t about to be rushed although then we had to deal with our waitress’ attitude. If it was up to me I would not have left the full £28 tip because the service really spoiled the experience for me. And it was a celebration meal, and it just felt like they were trying to get us in and out ASAP so, not again I think.

Spending a Sunday with my family that we want to be different. A different location and different food. An adventure day if I may say. I’d chosen Brixton since we never had a chance to visit the area which some of my colleagues were suggesting. Upon arrival to Brixton, first agenda was to find a restaurant to eat as we were starving. My daughter Googled top restos in Brixton which Boqueria was one of the choices. 15 minute walk from the station which is not bad at all. We finally got infront of Bogueria which looks like a modern bar, not really a restaurant. But there was a lady enjoying her Arroz Negro by the window which made us decide this is the restaurant we are trying today. While we were waiting to be seated, a lovely couple in the bar having some tapas and wine began talking to us and was really recommending the food as we told them its our first time. Maybe they were friends by the owner but they were just telling us the truth. Was surprised that the inside was huge. But it was packed, the table that was given to us were the only table left. Lucky for us to get a table despite not having a reservation. Started with different drinks. My daughter ordered a Margarita. My wife got a gin & tonic which she enjoyed it so much and I got a glass of wine. Take note both of them rarely drink alcohol. We tried as much food as we could. Starting it with Pan-con Ali Oli which we ordered another. Had Calamares, Gambas, Padron Peppers, Paella and Cochinillo. That Cochinillo was just epic. Meat that almost melts in your mouth. Taste which explodes and circles around. Not even a single dish went wrong though it was our first time. Maybe it means everything is good. To end it up, we had Churros to complete our lunch which sealed the deal that we are coming back. Being with your family is good but having a great meal together just simply makes it better...

The focus here is totally the food. The dining room is plain and quite generic. The staff a very pleasant, not overbearing or patronising, but the food... sublime. With one exception, everything was absolutely delicious. The only let down was the calamari with aioli, but that would probably have been amazing anywhere else, it’s just that everything else we ate was so good, the calamari didn’t quite attain the same heights. Prices are very fair too, this is a gem of a find and worth the trip to Brixton.

This restaurant is one of my absolute favourites - some of the very best and most authentic Spanish food in south London, I could not recommend it highly enough. It’s a great venue, and the staff are so friendly. Don’t miss out on this one.

It was snowing outside, but the room at Boqueria Brixton was warm, welcoming and just a nice place to be.

Set in a busy road of Brixton where you find an eclectic choice of eateries is Boqueria. Although slightly squashed up table and very loud (mainly talking and laughter from very nearby tables) this can be forgiven because the food and wine and pricing is just perfect.

Because we were meeting friends who lived south of London and we were in North London we chose Brixton as a halfway point and found terrific reviews for Boqueria online. What a great find and totally worth the trek to find it. From the dried spiced olives to the out of this world tortilla, to a robust crispy duck - everything was a happy surprise. And the staff was easy going and quickly accommodating. We'd be happy to go back there again and again.

On a wet Saturday in Brixton we decided to google tapas for lunch and this place popped up. Few minutes walk from Brixton underground we found this hidden gem. It was fabulous. Lovely choice of traditional and more unusual tapas. Very tasty, decent sized portions and not bad prices for London Town. Excellent Rioja to compliment the food which was a little pricey at £26 but again hey ho! You are in London. Service was exceptional with knowledgeable Spanish speaking waiting staff. Lunch was a great surprise and i would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who may find themselves at a loose end of drenched in Brixton

Went in for dinner on a Saturday evening with a few friends. The ambience is very casual and the service through the evening was top notch. We ordered quite a lot of food and every dish tasted exquisite. The stand out dish would have to be the beef with foei gras. But you will not go wrong with ordering anything on the menu. The only let down was he churros, which I was expecting it to be good, but was disappointed. It was doughy and chewy and was just not right. But i can easily forgive that given the rest of the items was stupendous. Highly recommend it. £73/couple including service, drinks and a LOT of food!

Went to celebrate my birthday I have to say the food is excellent, service good, was a good experience I will be coming back soon.

It has all been said before but the food is amazing and the service was good if a little slow in taking the order, unfortunately we were there on the night of a fairly noisy but well behaved table made our conversations difficult, all in all I would recommend.

We visited for Valnetine's day and had a yummy meal with different types of unusual tapas such as sea bass with aniseed and wood pigeon. The food came out quickly and as it was cooked. The staff were also friendly and very attentive.

Food was amazing. Tapas style so you can pick lots of plates. Croquettes and patatas bravas were a stand out for sure. Recommend eating here

Second time that I come here. The good is very good indeed albeit priced slightly above its value. However the service was a draw back: unattentive throughout the night and rather abrupt (despite the place being fairly empty). Sort it out please.
