Excellent food and service. Family run business and very tasty and good food. We had tapas, the portion sizes was good and tasted authentic too. It was very good decor and the ambiance was perfect for our family and friends.

An unexpected gem of a restaurant serving an excellent range of tapas, cooked to perfection. Added to this, the wine was exceptionally good. A delightful evening.

La verdad no puedo hablar del restaurante ya que al llegar como turistas no conocemos las zonas y el área llena de indigentes decidimos dar la vuelta al hotel, es una lastima con los buenos comentarios, pero hay que decirlo aquí para futuros comensales. Vuelvo y repito que el restaurante puede ser muy bueno, el área muy mala.

This is our favourite place in south London. Bar 61 is a friendly, family-run restaurant. Delicious food, cooked perfectly. The lamb chops are highly recommended!

This is as authentic a tapas place as one could find, everything superb. Great service, great ambience. And the smells coming out of the kitchen, just divine.

Me and my family visited bar61 on Saturday evening after an event we attended in Streatham. As we approached the small, cosy well located restaurant on the main high street we entered and received a delightful welcome from the restaurant owner. He greeted us swiftly and politely offered us a lovely cosy table at the back of the restaurant. Once we were seated he promptly handed us some large extensive menus and gracefully mentioned taking our time. I asked how the restaurant came to be and he mentioned it was a family run business which delighted us all as we love small independent businesses. As we browsed through the full, abundant menu the owner began the tell us some interesting stories of people he had met over the years working there which entertained us all very well. Then he took our drink orders after suggesting various wines from the many array that was offered and also displayed around the restaurant which made for an interesting viewing. Once we had browsed the menu and made some decisions he came over to take our order and kindly explained our queries and questions on the food choices. Our food was served with lovely timings in between and I must say it was absolutely delicious with fresh fish of the bones and beautiful tasty tapas dishes we all throughly enjoyed and would definitely recommend trying local dishes of fish and tapas here Overall the experience at bar 61 was that we will not forget it made for a lovely family celebration memory and it is definitely worth visiting if your in London area with family, friends or any sort of occasion. The family running this establishment are full of passion and service for what they do and I hope it flourished more and more over the years. We need more friendly, welcoming atmosphere’s like this one. Thank you bar61 for our experience.

We really enjoyed, food is good, a bit pricey but in general good place to eat

I felt like an honoured guest, all three in the party felt that this meal was specially prepared for us. The waiting staff was always attentive, and gave advice on the wine, We opted for the Tapas Menu which was excellent and its delivery timely at all times. For myself it is as if BAR61 was created for me only, it being my little secret so to speak, my fellow diners were equally impressed. Long may it continue.

I think more customers are needed to keep this restaurant going. It’s worth supporting - please do so.

A nice Tapas bar located in Streatham Hill. Bar 61 serves amazing food and the service is second to none. From the minute you walk in, the staff look after you. The selection of food is vast and everything that was ordered tasted of quality and we enjoyed everything.

Food & service was excellent. Staff were friendly and offered great recommendations from the tapas menu. Will definitely be revisiting soon.

My boyfriend and I ate here for the first time recently and were so impressed. AL the tapas we tried was delicious, we were really impressed with portion sizes as well. The staff couldn't' have been any friendlier and we got a free fruit bowl for dessert and two shots as well. We will definitely be returning and would recommend it to anyone wanting a nice meal out!

Wonderful as ever, brilliant food and kind attention

We walked by Bar 61 today and were attracted by the big open windows and good music. The food was delicious and prompt. The service was excellent. The staff funny and engaging. A relaxed local venue with a good tapas menu, would definitely come back again soon!

Still my favourite place in Streatham. It’s almost like going to a friends house for dinner. You’re never rushed, nothing is every a problem and the food is consistently lovely.

Quaint restaurant. Restaurant a bit dark from the outside but once inside interesting decor Food was brilliant. Celebrating birthday with my friends and we did not need to rush to leave. Really nice will definitely go again.

I have eaten at this restaurant with my parents several times and we have never been disappointed with our visit! The staff are always incredibly welcoming and attentive and the service very efficient. We particularly like the very varied tapas menu and always find ourselves spoilt for choice! The atmosphere is warm and friendly and this is a great place for family gatherings and celebrations. Great value for money too!

The service was great but the food was NOT it… chewy and dry seafood, tasteless mussels, patatas bravas not made correctly, and overcooked croquettes… food was genuinely bad and overpriced.

I have eaten at the restaurant a number of times over the past few years. The waiters are very friendly. Particularly Mel, Met and Tony. Excellent atmosphere and great food. I would definitely recommend!

This is the second time I have been here and I was hoping for a better dining experience especially with such a high review score. The mussels were small and shrivelled with many empty shells. Service was good and nice owners but for the price the food could have been better. Very limited wines by the glass and I did not want to buy a whole bottle because my partner was drinking white and I was drinking red.

Atmospheric friendly restaurant with a lot of banter from the waiters who looked as if they'd worked there for years. Excellent selection of tapas (probably the best anchovies I've ever had) and a nice white rioja left us all feeling happy.

The staff were super friendly and lovely. But the food was awful, I am baffled by the amount of good reviews about this place. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was bought from the frozen section of a supermarket then prepared in their kitchen. Me and my boyfriend were so disappointed that we went elsewhere for wine and cheese after leaving feeling very unsatisfied. There was also a precarious looking fruit plate that was placed on every table once finishing your meal.
