Bombay Bites Granby Street in Leicester

In 2011-2013 i used to work in leicester and go there at least every two weeks. It was on a different store than. I went to Leicester today and the first thing in mind I was to find them online and I made an order. Same box same flavour, same smiley staff 👍👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️ please expand in more cities (nottingham Derby Loughborough)

So I asked for the chutney separate and chips instead of rice, and also take away, none of it was done and when I asked for a take away container they kept on giving me bags, very bad service feels like asking for something gets ignored and they grab the closest thing to them, won't be going here again, the food was ruined due to just not listening to my order

Food was average - The fish pakora and aloo fritters were good. However the paneer biryani and paneer tikka was quite dry

Relaxing clean friendly environment I enjoyed a cup of Indian tea and a well portioned chips and baked beans. Great service and calm music to listen to All for £5.50 Will come back to try something different off the menu next time

Ended up ordering the vegetarian victory bowl which was absolutely tasty. The location is well kept, very clean and the service was so useful. Any questions we had, they had an answer for it. I do wish I got my bowl to be a bit spicer because it did tasted too sweet for my liking, I’ll come back and try a new dish but overall had a great experience here.

They dont pay attention to what you order food arrived cold, missing items and was told sorry nothing they can do about it... what an absolute joke... terrible service really appauling...

Travel close by for work and this place is a must visit. Fresh and great tasting food. Friendly and helpful staff.

I loved it. I was my first time eating paneer and I absolutely loved it. The staff was very friendly and patient over my indecisive questions.

Not at all a good experience, the food was pathetic. We ordered chicken Tikka with mad masala where it is clearly written it is suppose to be spicy but it was so sweet that I couldn't even eat it at all, the chicken pieces were hard, the red colouring was too much, the milkshake was also bland I am so disappointed and hurt broken and even after paying 30 pounds I couldn't eat or drink anything at all.

I ordered bombay box( paneer tikka+ steamed rice+ korma+ vegetable kebab). The food was horrible! It was tooo sweeet! Paneer tikka had no flavour. Overall the meal was just like a bowl full of sugar with no indian spicy flavours at all! Worst restaurant! I regret pay so much for my meal! Please dont visit here again and dont waste ur time here

A good place for a quick curry. The veggie curry and the madras were both great.

Ordered take away -two chicken Biryani..i won't say it's something authentic but taste was good..👍again the masala tea was fabulous..👌👌 worth a visit.

Nah bruddah! Fleeced us with these portions. Used to be legit . Inflation is on steroids in this part of town. No damn joke! fah real! Serious mark ups. To be avoided when hunger strikes, still starving and same goes for my mate marvin. Naaah! As my mate Oliver would say "Please sir, may I have some more?" I wasn't expecting an all you can eat buffet but bruh... When hunger strikes get down to one unless you just fancy a pricey starter. For that price you'll get a fat munch and even some pudding and a double helping. Just work some magic on the plate. Take inspiration from here for free. You know what i'm saying. Cost of living and most of us are just surviving.

One of the best places to have Bangladeshi style tea. Try out other items e.g Biryani, tikka masal. Bowl , bombay fish and chips, paneer tikka and chips etc. The maharaja is also their special. The people are very friendly hospitable and will go above and beyond to serve you. The the icecream is also amazing and very unique. The sitting arrangement is lovely . Highly recommended!!

I got a tea but it tasted burned, I didn't think it was too bad but it be much better if it didn't have bits of burnt milk skin in it, I think the staff should also pay attention around customers, when their speaking their native tongue in front of customers, bare in mind that it makes some people conscious when someone is having a full blown conversation that is ambiguous. It is outright frustrating when you don't know what their saying, I've had this experience in many places and it's uncomfortable being left out as a customer it doesn't feel nice especially when you are on your own and not as a group.

Horrible food I ever had in whole UK you guys should change the name of this outlet, it should be Leicester bite with the name of bombay you can't make fool of people !

Biriyani is meant to have ingredients not dry stale rice and dry chicken that’s so covered in spice that it’s inedible no sauce not vegetables! Nothing! Don’t believe the photos u can make better at home

This is a kind of grab and go place, not a fine dining restaurant. I ordered a Vegan kofta wrap for 5.95 pounds. It was okish as it lacked dressings and sauces. This place is good for vegetarian or meat lovers but I won't suggest for vegan food.

One of the nicest places in Leicester love the food and ordered from this establishment a few times and haven't been disappointed.

Best Indian chai(Tea) for the right price. I had a chance to taste their tea on two different occasions, but I had the same experience.

Amazing food and fantastic value. We don’t live in Leicester but always eat at Bombay Bites when we visit. The portion size is huge and everything is always delicious. Please open a branch in Sheffield!!!

Good portion size freshly cooked great experience for our first and certainly not our last visit.

My wife and I, and my two children went there today for a meal. One of my children is a new born so he obviously didn't eat here. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. I didn't know what I wanted and I ordered my meal it turns out what I ordered was the same as a set meal they do, which was cheaper and you get more than what I was trying to order, the staff member offered this alternative meal which was much better for price and it was excellent. My son who does not like spicy food he loved the meal aswell. Very friendly staff and really nice food.

Small amount of food for the money paid. Staff nice. Felt cheated because of poor portion size of food, that was nothing special.

Update, 15/03/23: They have lunch time deals on their boxes upto 2:30pm. Today i had the maharaja box and noticed the boxes have changed to round ones. They are better, good size portion, and plenty of space yo mix the food up properly. Tried mutton biryani here today, nice portion, with salad. 6.95 not bad at all. Normally would walk past it as the boxes are expensive.

They give you the option of sweet, medium or spicy. I ordered a tikka masala with medium spice. It arrived absolutely drenched in mango chutney. Was disgustingly sweet. Made me feel sick. Never coming back. Also very expensive for the amount you get.

Food was decent, but overpriced for what it was. Approximately £15 for a large box, no meat as I am vegetarian. I would say £10 max for quality and quantity. Taste wasn't bad but no way worth the money. Wouldn't recommend

I didn’t ask for extra chillies they fully loaded all three with extra chillies which didn’t sit well with any of us, causing bad toilet problems resulting to having to use gaviscon after. Management need to fix up and train staff accordingly.

Welcoming staff and great taste. Food was good overall. We bought large size and it was massive box compared to their competitors. Pricing 4/5. Personally I felt bit expensive for large box. £10.95 and no offers.

I bought 2biriyani from this place. Idk why they call it a biriyani. Seems like the rice was cooked in beetroot as it has got that red colour , not sure if it's the food colour 😕. I don't recommend biriyani from this place 🤷.

Forgot balti sauce today and I said spicy 🌶️ . It was collection order. How is it going to have any taste without any curry in it? Eating dry fired mix dinner today ☹️😞😞😞

So where do I start. Hopefully Abdul knows I am being impartial. Chicken shashlick sauce is missing, worker claims price gone up so can't afford to put that on the customer..Ok but it price has gone up anyways so bring the sauce back. Next mutton tikka was disgusting.. back in day it used to be lamb tikka now the mutton tasted off. Overall Bombay bites has consistency but today it was the first time in decade this was wrong

The 'paneer wrap' I ordered was tasty. You can order as per your taste preference from sweet, medium to spicy. Staff at counter is nice and welcoming. The restaurant have nice ambience. A goto place for vegetarians, as they cook vegetarian dishes separately.

I visit this place every time I visit Leicester on business. Authentic Indian food. Clean, bright and respectable premises. And the food is brilliant.

Spectacular indian food. The best tandoori chicken I have ever tasted, their rice is cooked to perfection and the sauces and chutneys are amazing. I don't know how they do it but I'm just grateful they do. If you want a quick filling indian meal this is the best place around by a country mile.

Absolutely great stuff. Veggie Victory box was layers of well-spiced curry, paneer, naan, rice, with crispy onions and chutney. Each mouthful a joy. Will be back! Staff were super friendly too.

Had a nice curry box which was rice, pieces of nan bread then the chicken curry poured over the top, a decent portion for £8.50, plastic fork and napkins included, convenient meal to take back to the railway station to eat on my train home. Bottled drinks also available £2

Disgusting tea. In fact, it was tasteless kettle water with a tinge of limescale. Mr A from Nuneaton who recommended this, having visited with Lucy, is dead when I see him next.

The food was served cold and use too much food colouring, no taste. Not worth the price that is paid, have to pay for everything separate in a dish.

Must try out the Bengal balti my all time fav. The Indian flavors hits on a separate level. Their food presentation and staff behavior is much appreciated. Besides who likes veggies or vegetarian should go for the Veggie victory....my second most fav.....

Myself and my dad were looking for somewhere to eat for takeaway as the place we go to was closed and we came across this restaurant and the food is fantastic very filling and delicious you should come and try the food you will love it and the owner is a nice and friendly person 5/5 you have a new costumer.

I went into Bombay Box by chance pirate because I loved the colours I could see through their window. I was looking for a quick bite for lunch. Wow is all I can say on the beautiful flavours that this box was full of. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, the service was friendly and very quick and I will absolutely be returning. Thankyou to the guy who served me, and helped me order my meal based on my preferences for spice! Amazing place to eat.

I went here with my son around 11pm and had really delicious food, we sat in to eat,the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Came in last week food was amazing , went in for food yesterday all they think about is putting extras on ( which you pay extra for thinking its a set price e.g cheese and fried onion which I never asked for but put on anyway ) non wore a mask and used hands with no gloves on food very friendly one regular and one large box with a portion of onion bhaji costs 25 pound will never be eating here again, disappointed as previous time was amazing and we heard good reviews but second time was a let down.

I wish I could give it 10 stars, this is the fourth time I come in a week! I tried the madras meltdown with meat and without. It is absolutely delicious with a staff that cannot be topped. Zahagir in patricular was amazing with such great advice and helped us choose from the menu without disappointment as well as complimentary popadoms. It is a must try, if you are reading this, do not hesitate and go right over, you won’t regret it.
