We were just looking in the fabric shop and saw the sign for the cafe and as it was 13.30hrs we were told it may close soon so we decided to pop in for a snack. Made very welcome on our arrival and there was a reasonable selection of foods for a small cafe .the food was well presented and tasted just as good. Seems to be very popular with the locals and it was enjoyable to meet and talk with them

Visited as I was waiting for a train, and although I only had a diet coke, the smell of Bacon was divine and the staff welcoming ! Definitely worth visiting if your waiting for a train !.

I've visited a few times with friends. On each occasion, the staff don't seem to know what's on the menu, what time they serve until or what alternative options are available. It's an OK place for a coffee and a cake but other food choices are lacking.

I looked forward to this all morning and did not disappoint, the sandwiches very tasty, egg, cheese, ham and Philli and cucumber. Our scones served with cream and blackcurrent and strawberry jam, delish and the mini cakes yummy 😋 Offered with plenty of tea and even a offer of more cake which we declined as full. We look forward to visiting again x

I visited this cafe for lunch on a very cold day. The atmosphere, the decoration and the staff are all excellent. The food, I had a jacket potato with a great crunchy tuna filling, was lovely, just what I needed. Other people around me were eating dishes as varied as spaghetti with pesto and chicken, soups, homemade and pie and chips. But, and this is the reason I don’t give five stars the café was very cold. The family next to me didn’t stay for pudding as the father was too cold. Such a shame.

Called for the second time last week for lunch. We'd only just sat down at our table when a waitress cleaned the next table to us and used some form of bleach cleaner ... it was so potent and extremely off putting when customers wish to eat but nevertheless as we hadn't ordered we dismissed it. Sadly while we were eating our food same (surly) waitress cleaned 2 different tables and this time as we were eating I was gipping with the stench. I thought our comments to each other and the fact we were holding our noses while trying to eat might have made the surly one react but no ... not even a sorry! Such a shame as the food was spot on and well worth a return visit. I realise you want your tables to be clean after visitors have eaten and rightly so, but there are plenty of antibacterial cleaners like Dettox, Flash, Cillit Bang etc that don't contain bleach and have a pleasant smell and then at the end of the day use your bleach cleaner when all your customers have gone!

We ordered the set menu Christmas 3 course lunch several weeks in advance as we had eaten here before and were very happy. Very disappointed this time, poor food, poor service and was charged for a friend who couldn't attend! Needless to say we won't be back, which is a pity as the service in the patchwork shop is excellent.

Small but friendly. Ideal place to meet up with friends for a chat over morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea. Good quality food and value for money. alongside traditional favourites such as scones with jam and clotted cream are unusual but mouthwatering desserts eg. Beetroot cake, courgette cake. Take away also available and of course you can take time to look round and be tempted to buy in the craft supply shop and adjacent store which features unusual but affordable hand crafted gifts.

Pleasant place, nice atmosphere, it's connected to a sewing shop. Nice friendly staff. But unfortunately average food pretending to be more than what it is for the prices charged.

I only live round the corner, so dont use it for much other than the odd take away cake, which are delicious and more often for ice creams. They only have a few flavours on at any one time, so forces you to try something different, but all have been delicious.

Yes it was nice but surely cannot go wrong with two coffees and two panninis. Just thought at a price of £14 it was a tad on the dear side.

Dropped on this delightful cafe / craft shop last summer and was intrigued so see what was on offer. We sat out back in the sunshine and were served the most delicious coffee with a choice of flavourings and cream cakes to die for. The staff are most welcoming and were happy to show us around their crafts and unusual materials on offer. I've been many times since and can highly recommend their full breakfast served for a good price.

Called in for breakfast before an energetic walk round Wombwell Woods. The staff are very friendly with enough choices on the menu to please most visitors. The full english breakfast @ £3.95 is great value and our 8 yrs old son said their milkshake was the best he had ever had. Well worth a visit if passing. We will definitely call again (maybe for coffee and cake next time)! Big thumbs up.

Do not visit if you are on a diet and have little willpower! The unusual assortment of cakes, liquorice allsorts, my hubbys favourite, are too tempting. The icecream is delicious too. You can have savouries like sandwiches, things on toast, jacket potatoes, but do save room for dessert. A good selection of drinks are available also. Daily specials worth a look.

Not quite sure about this place. We called in today for a snack and a drink. Ended up with a piece of lemon drizzle cake which strangely didn't taste of lemon at all, and at £2.75 you expect a decent piece but you only get a very small sliver. My son's scone was really tiny as well. The pot of tea was decent enough but milk shake was a let down. Well we tried it but probably won't go again. Sorry.

The Bolthole Café is situated in the OH So Sweet Haberdashery. It sells such beautiful fabrics and everything for the stitchcrafter. Husbands are ok left in the café for a while, but don't just let them have a treat! The food is reasonably priced, fresh cooked, served nicely and the cakes and icecream are a delightful afters. Open 7 days a week, even if you are a non sewing person, the café is well worth a visit. Lorrayne, Jeff and their staff will make you very welcome.

On Sunday 27th October we had my mothers 100th birthday family party. There was 25 of us for Sunday lunch, the meals were wonderful enjoyed by everyone of us. Everything was hot and with loads of vegetables served in side dishes. Lauren and her staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Not only dealing with our party they were serving other customers too. Well done we definitely recommend the Travellers Inn and will be returning soon.

Came with our 6 year old. Lovely meal. The children's menu, although not many options, was good quality and large portions. The tapas were also very good quality and good sized portions (maybe 2 each is probably enough, or 3 if really hungry). The staff were very friendly and attentive. Good atmosphere in the resteraunt. Will definitely come back.

We’ve for bottomless brunch for 1.5 hours, had to go to the bar ourselves for every drink we’ve ordered since. After finishing a bottomless brunch at 3pm, we were told to be quiet after 5:30pm after buying 2 bottles of Prosecco and cocktails and shots after our brunch finished. Then were told by the manager to be quiet, after spending over £300 a between us, we. Felt very welcome, we could have gone other local places that welcomed us, or gone to a larger place in Barnsley, did not expect to be kicked out after 3 hours, won’t be going again, absolutely shocking. Worst bottomless brunch ever, staff was great, and we left a tip until the manager came out, Shocking.
