This could be such a wonderful tearoom but unfortunately let down by poor quality food and uninterested staff. To be served ‘homemade’ soup and discover it’s out of a tin (albeit Heinz 😂) Being reasonably local it’s a known fact that some of the homemade goods are bought from Morrisons! Also if it’s says closing at 3:30, one would assume the door wouldn’t be locked at 3:20.

Having passed this tea rooms the day before and it looked inviting so we went for breakfast the following day. Plenty of car parking and even a small outdoor market next door on some days. Cosy environment with a large log burner providing lots of heat on the cold day. Ground floor tea room with a small mezzanine level above. Young friendly staff member greeted us at the entrance and showed us the available tables and we selected one close to the fire. We ordered the full English breakfast and coffee. The meal arrived in a timely manner and was well presented and to our order. It consisted of two sausages, two rashers of bacon, two eggs (you have the choice of preferred way of cooking), beans fresh cooked tomato, mushrooms and toast. It was cooked with quality ingredients, hot and served with a smile. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and visit and will visit again when on our next holiday in the area.

We visited with our dogs, made very welcome. Lovely and clean, nice atmosphere. Enjoyed our lattes, really tasty pork pie and scones. Sausages provided for our dogs. Would visit again.

Having seen their advertising on social media about their cosy inviting tea room I thought this would be an ideal place to go with my friends, how wrong I was not cosy at all there’s 0 atmosphere and the staff couldn’t of cared less. The soup is out of a tin the bread is nasty and cheap and the ham is plastic. Come on bollis get your act together homemade soup must be one of the easiest things to make and I can’t believe you use cheap bread when you have a bakery practically on your doorstep which make’s fantastic bread. Why run a tea room when you are clearly using supermarket cakes. To add insult to injury the prices are extortionate!

Very disappointed ordered soup and a ham sandwich, only to find it was Heinz tinned tomato soup and the ham in the sandwich was like plastic ham. Coffee was ok but for 2 of us £17.00 . Very disappointing, will not go back

Although it is right on a busy main road, there is a garden area around the back, which was Ideal for us and the dogs...the staff even gave the dogs free sausages... Nice afternoon tea and they even sell alcohol

We visited for a coffee after looking round the adjacent Farmers’ Market which is in the yard area outside on Friday mornings. The coffee was very good, I had a small iced bun to go with mine. The toilets were very clean. There was seating in the lovely garden outside, however the weather was not very good on our visit.

Found this tearoom when I took wrong road on day trip from Whitby. Even though we hadn’t booked afternoon tea the hostess made a lovely afternoon tea. Nice selection of sandwiches of my choice, selection of cakes and scones, it tasted like the jam was homemade as well. Very clean, friendly and very good value for money

Myself, my husband and 2 friends booked afternoon tea here. Warm welcome and served immediately. The sandwiches, scones and mini cakes were lovely. The teapots were refilled for us. Nice quiet tea rooms. Outside seating available. Lovely location with plenty of car parking. The price was £15.00 each.

Owner is odd and acts like your an unwanted guest in their home, feels more like a membership club than a local. Has weird opening times. Has weird rules around “pre approved” children in after 9 o’clock. Used to be a good pub years ago now only half of it opens. It could be like the Derry, the car park is huge for it. Saturday nights are dead in there. Shame really.

The most expensive cafe in the uk she makes her own prices up she was always expensive but she's got that bad she put a little sign up near the samosas trying to justify it swear to god if u order a few of her mangy chicken sandwiches u could go to Miller and Carter watch how greedy she is with everything she puts on aswell one portion two portion she makes her price up buying a sandwich is like buying a BMW with the extras she charges you for on it half cheese full cheese me and me partner couldn't believe that one you need a credit rating of over 850 to walk in her door

Service was extremely slow, it wasn’t very busy either, half the drinks were kept elsewhere! The noise level was unbearable, music on high volume, so customers had to shout and screech to make themselves heard, and no soft furnishings to deaden the sound. It was a relief to leave.
