Boden's Fish Bar in Broxtowe

Being local, I often pop in for chips and mushy peas, the lads remembered my order and preferences after just one visit, very smiley and friendly. Love going in there, makes my night! Fab chips, very yummy! Reasonable prices, lots of choice, amazing staff and perfect location!

Pity i can't give a zero rating, as worse than before - absolutely disgusting mixture of overcooked and undercooked mess. Don't understand how you can get doner meat so tastelessly greasily wrong, and no idea about the chips, unidentifiable!!! when I mentioned our experience the last time I was told that I'd chosen to come back, and I didn't know what I was talking about. Should have read that as an omen of what was to come. So sad that what was once a fabulous chippy has gone so badly wrong. Never again, avoid!!

Excellent food, offers are great value. The chicken kebabs are delicious. Will be going back again soon.

To say the undercooked chips was swimming in greese is putting it mildly. And when I complained they got irate and choose to belittle me refusing to give me a refund. Avoid

The food USED to be brilliant. Fresh, well cooked and excellent value. And the owners, Dean and family were a breath of fresh air. Unfortunately recently been bought out and the new owners seem keen to turn it into one if these 'Jack of all trades...' fast food joints, where you can get a "burger" or pizza too, all cooked equally badly- rather than the traditional chippie that it deserves to be. I didn't know that it had changed hands, so went in and placed my order with the new guys. The batter on the fish was greasy and the fish inside mush, with no flaky texture. The chips...I had never had chips like it, more of a potato slime, they did not hold their shape at all and by the time they were unwrapped at home, they were a smear. No idea what they are cooking in other than it must be cheap. Similar to pound shop car engine oil...it had a minerally\burned taste. Essentially, the whole meal went in the bin. Never again. It's StarFish up the road for me

I have been coming here for years. It is one of the best if not the best chippie in Stapleford in my view. Always a smile on their faces and friendly chat when the sort out your food. Happy to see you and great service.....

The Staff are great, go here quite a lot always excellent chips and things and good value for money, recommend to everyone

Went in as recommended. Had to wait for freshly cooked cod and well worth the wait. Generous portions and really tasty

There is roadside parking near by if you are lucky you may get a space close the the chip shop. My first two choices from the menu were not available (pasty - no longer on the menu, chicken and mushroom pie - out of stock) so had to go for my 3rd choice. The pie and chips were served in a Styrofoam carton which was good as it keeps the food warmer on the trip back to the hotel room. The chips were good, no hint of grease and the regular portion was adequate. Although it does nothing to make it stand out from other chip shops, it did just enough for me to want to go back.
