Service from the driver was exceptional. Food not up to normal standard as we have ordered from this burger place many times and have been really good. Will not be ordering for a while as we can find another place

I don't often leave reviews but feel compelled to do so in this instance. I have ordered from this takeaway a few times and the food is usually pretty good, however, the last couple of times I have experienced problems placing orders. Last night (Thursday) was the final straw! I placed an order through the website for delivery at 7.15pm, which was duly accepted by the takeaway. By 7.45pm, my order had still not arrived so I attempted to call the takeaway but was unable to get through. I used the live chat on the website and the agent attempted to contact the takeaway as well. Eventually, they got through and I was told that the takeaway was closed and that my order would be cancelled! I questioned why the website accepted my order if the takeaway was closed but was simply told that I would be refunded (which I have). The website clearly shows the takeaway as open on Thursday evenings so I've no idea what happened! Sadly, after this experience, I won't be ordering from here again.

Delicious kebabs and burgers at a fair price, been coming here dozens of times and always enjoyed my food, however owner started charging me card payment fees, which is banned and illegal to do so since 2018. I paid by card before and he wasn't charging before until now. It really upset me and lost a lot of respect for him so this was my last visit there. I can most definitely find other good food places and more local to me.

Amazing value for money, and the food is top notch

I feel a bit harsh giving 2 stars as been using this place since it opened and never had a bad takeaway, last night we placed an order for £48, the customer service was up to its usual high standard, and the chips were as lovely as usual, however the 4 pizzas were burnt, with a thin and very overdone base! Didn't taste nice and was tough to eat! And the cheeseburgers was more lettuce than anything and really couldn't taste no cheese! I'm hoping it was just a one off, however it may be a while till we decide to try again!

Ordered here last night for collection, I went for the double bacon cheeseburger with a can of drink and fries. Upon entering the store, I noticed the 5/5 hygiene rating, looking round the shop I could tell why they got a grade of 5. Everything was neat, tidy and clean. Because of this alone, I knew the food I was about to receive would be of good quality. So to the food, the burger itself was cooked to perfection, the salad, the cheese, the beef patty’s and the bacon were flavoursome and I could taste everything! The chips were also seasoned with what I believe was a bbq seasoning which tasted amazing. Think I’ve found my new favourite burger place, I’ll be ordering again tonight! Thanks guys. Tom C

We went on a Sunday afternoon. The food was amazing, freshly cooked and the service was great. Would definitely go back again.

Been using this place every Thursday evening for as long as I can remember after my sons karate lesson. Spend between £10-15 a week. From now on I won't be and will be going elsewhere due to being told the car park is private and not to park there tonight!!

Absolutely amazing food , speed of service, value for money. My partner ordered a burger , fries , cheese fries calzone, cheese cake x2 , x2 cans of coke including delivery = £30 The sizes of the burger and Calzone and chips and cheese, we could of fed 4 adults Highly recommend

Love this place. The burgers are amazing, fries are a massive portion and always freshly cooked. You can tell the burgers are handmade. Owner is always very friendly and even changed my order after I'd clicked the wrong thing on the food hub app. We travel from the other side of Nottingham to use this place and then drive round to the canal to eat at the side of the water. It's always a nice treat for us.

Ordered here pre lockdown and was impressed . Went back today,inedible. The burger buns were soft and soggy, fell apart. The burger was overcooked and dry. The worst thing was the salt. The heart attack burger lives up to its reputation ! The burgers, the fries and the chicken shish in the kebab were so salty they made our mouth sore and numb. We had no choice but to throw it all away ! Won't be going again .

Have had take-out burgers from 'Proper Burger' on several occasions as my son lives a few minutes walk away. A great selection of artisan, handmade to order, burgers that are reasonably priced and generously portioned. You can order online and get delivery or you can collect. Friendly guys behind the counter and well worth a visit.

Just ordered food from here and probably one worse takeaways I have had in along time, chips were over seasoned so tasted salty and had be thrown away and cheap beef burgers that all takeaways sell, cost me £30, I'd recommend going to any takeaway and save half your money, I'm pretty easy going but this is a joke !!

They do a lovely tasty burger here, very tasty indeed......😋. I had the 'taurang' (6oz) with garlic mushrooms on top....... It was extremely huge, and it did the job as I was hungry........lol...... It didn't take long to make either, always a plus factor....... I must emphasise, this was before Covid 19 happened, and I was in the actual shop, waiting whilst it was being made.....

Took 2hrs and 40 minutes to turn up. Ordered through Just Eat. If you know you're short on staff, turn off the ability for customers to order through Just Eat and make them contact you directly. We rang twice, once at the 30 mins past estimate and again at an hour past estimated time. Second staff member called me "darling" and laughed it off when I said I wasn't happy with how late it was... the only reason I've given 2 stars is because the pizza was edible.

Needs renaming The Worst Frozen Burger company. Over cooked, dry, shockingly bad burger buns both flat and soggy with tasteless sauce. Waste of money! Do not use.

Used here for the first time today. Ordered 2 fish burgers meal deals. Was impressed, friendly attentive staff, fresh cooked food, and great sized portion of chips. I almost couldn't eat them all. I will use these guys again. Thanks

Hot and tasty food. Very clean kitchen area. Some delivery drivers are a bit rude but it's a difficult time so understandable. My children just want to dive into the food bag 😂 My only issues have been with the drinks on meal deals. We request water but sometimes get other drinks. It's really not a big problem though. Food delicious 😋

Awesome food, the burger was yummy, the fries were perfect, everything was extremely filling I decided to try a milkshake and the size is bigger than the average milkshake and it was so delicious The women at the shop was lovely and welcoming when we collected our order, great customer service!

If you go in for collection, don't as they are very busy with online orders. It's also cash only despite it saying that they accept all cards, misleading as it makes you think you can pay by card when you collect in person. Burgers are massive and filling. Chips are generous portions. Bit pricey but worth it

Proper Burger offers a good selection of delicious burgers at fair prices. I've tried quite a few of the different options and never been disappointed. I even shared the huge End of the World burger with a friend. It's pricey but definitely epic! There's also options for vegetarians which is great. Whenever I have been in, the owner and staff have been very friendly and made me feel welcome and valued. In short, Proper Burger lives up to its name and I'd recommend giving them a go!

Awful. Burger came wrong and was more burnt than the world trade centres, chicken was more grey than Gandalf and the chips tasted like they they had been had been in the pants of mo farah after a run.

Absolutely disgusting meal do not waste your money. Cheap nasty food with a expensive price tag. Chicken was grey and my partners order was wrong - rang to complain.

First time trying this place, ordered 2 monster burgers and the meal portions are massive, well worth every penny. The food was delicious and it came earlier than expected. Will definitely be ordering from here again.

Great service and taste. Quick orders and friendly staff. I've had a couple of stuff from their menu. Their burgers are filling and the kebobs are also great. Good for a quick takeout.

I was really looking forward to the burger I ordered !!! I'd ordered a side of onion rings and one of battered mushrooms which all came on the burger !!! All soggy on a burger so burnt that the dog wouldn't eat it !!! Chips were cold.. Never again Complete waste of money and I'm still hungry !!! Grrr...

Probably the best burger I've ever had

Took over an hour and a half to be delivered this was after being prompted by a call to be told it had just come out the kitchen and was on it's way Really???? I don't live that far away and when it arrived it was cold!! The onion rings were soggy as were the chips and jalapeño bites. The burgers were of a good quality but would have been so much nicer with a bit of heat Worst £20.00 I have ever spent Highly disappointed after reading all the rave reviews and to say it was our first time ordering can honestly say it will be the last!!

After reading the great reviews we were really looking to trying this takeaway. However, we were really disappointed. My burger was was burnt and tasteless, chips were cold, and my partners chicken kebab came without a wrap and was equally bland and dry. I would not recommend.

Quite literally the best burgers in town. Pure 100% beef and chicken. Tasty fresh made pizzas. Burgers kebabs wraps and more. Crispy potato filled fries that aren't soggy like most takeaways. Outstanding prices for the food quality and service. Speedy delivery and all round service. Can't promote this takeaway enough. I won't order anywhere else but from homemade proper burgers and pizzas.

I'm not one for gushing over burger places usually, but this one really is a cut above. Expect proper gourmet burgers, excellent fillings and wonderful muffin rolls. Also, be warned, burger sizes are huge. I have a good appetite and the smallest one stalls me.

This place was awesome when it opened , the food came properly wrapped orders were spot on, we've had 3 orders now one with missing items, one with missing ingredients , and now a big dirty slice of plastic hidden in one of the burgers.. it's a massive shame but were not spending £17+ for that. time to find somewhere else .

Ordered 2 pizzas and a slice of cake, the pizzas were great - mine was super spicy - and the cake was much better than expected. Prompt and friendly delivery service.

Will be most definitely be ordering from here again; Chips were one of the best for a pizza takeaway in this area, they were high quality, and cooked properly, which both are quite unusual for takeaways in Long Eaton. Onion Rings we ordered were very good too. The Garlic Bread 10" pizza was very nice, and the main pizza, 12" Meat Feast, was very nice too. I ordered this from Just Eat, and the prices for each were very good, for a 12" Pizza, Chips and A Can of Pepsi, it was £8.50, just 50p off the max delivery cost (£9). We ordered ahead of time and the food came exactly on time. Highly recommend this new takeaway, I wouldn't personally use their website to make orders as it's quite buggy and there have been many issues with other takeaways using the same system; including being able to change the price of food with yourself in your browser, Just Eat would be the place to use for ordering from here.
